Built in 1987, doesnt look like its had much done since then. The stained glass in the entrance isnt too bad..... but the rest is.... very much of its time. In a way I hope somebody buys this and preserves it as a time capsule, the same way people are doing with mid century modern homes now. The needs to be a few examples preserved, either as inspiration or warning

Tasteful Friends - relentless hideousness in Michigan
It doesnt look at all promising from the outside, but gets much worse on the interior. Somebody bought a massive job lot of tiles cheaply along with bucketloads of grey paint. And went to Walmart on a sale day for the light fittings and furniture. It manages to combine the very worst of modern and traditional decor. Somehow manages to be dull and garish simultaneously

Tasteful friends - dream home! Except its in Pittsburgh.
If I could pick this up and drop it in one of the fantastic locations I've seen some hideous carbuncles built on, I'd have the perfect home. The grounds are attractive too with the trees..... but Pittsburgh. Probably why its only 3 million despite the size (8 bed) and the great condition
The exterior is beautiful, but it is surpassed by one of the best interiors I have seen. The lounge is perfection, but it has strong competition from several other rooms in the house
Its.... not for everybody though. Your mileage may vary

Musical trips down memory lane - albums you owned as a gayling
Was making up an aerobics playlist on a music streaming service the other day and discovered an album I remember buying as a gayling (late teens I guess). Its a compilation of US West Coat hardcore punk bands that I'd bought on the strength of it being on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles record label and it mostly didnt disappoint, I copied all my faves onto cassette and played the shit out of it. Not the first album I bought (that might have been Led Zeppelin or something like that a couple of years prior ) but it was an unexpected pleasure to rediscover tracks I havent heard in many years. I recall I got this shortly after I got the Dead Kennedy's "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" which I loved (and is now featuring on my 80's music aerobics playlist, its how I ran across this little gem)
I suspect I might have been something of an musical outlier as a gayling, what were you fave albums?

Tasteful Friends - colour saturation set to zero, tackiness set to 100
In a traditional style, but done VERY badly, especially the furniture, with a modern monotone colour palette, with a few pops of colour, and it works about like you'd expect
It doesnt look too bad from the exterior, bad the hideous front door, once you pass through that all hope is lost

Tasteful Friends on a miniscule budget - Downunder do-up for just $75K
The exterior is not too bad, the interior on the other hand is .... horrendous. Could be considered barely livable if you have really really low standards I guess.
Bring a wide range of tools, materials, paint, a waterblaster/ steamblaster, and a big fucking skip
Also comes with a really big garage/shed on site that is full of crap. And some miscellaneous sheds
On the plus side it seems to have a working solar power system and no obvious major structural issues
This could be made into quite a nice home if you have skills, time, and are prepared to do a LOT of work. A gut reno would be quite in order here

Tasteful Friends - knock off of a French Chateau in Brookville NY for under $15 mil
Way to big for me, but it does have some really beautiful rooms, and some really nice period details throughout, it was built in 1916 so its over 100 years old.
Most of all its got colours, unlike the huge joint in Texas somebody just posted. This is over 10 mil cheaper, and almost as big - and not in Texas. Beautiful grounds too, although there'd be an absolute shitload of maintenance. This strikes me as being far more luxurious as its far less bland.

Tasteful Friends - I present to you Nick Fuentes' home
It's actually a lot nicer than I would have expected, presume he lives in the basement area with his parents upstairs. Staging is dreadful but the upstairs parts of the house have a lot of really nice period detail and it has great potential

For anyone you know who is struggling with alcohol - really hopeful article
How the author used the Sinclair method in conjunction with Naltrexone to fix her drinking problem. I wish this was more better known

Tasteful Friends - somewhat shabby but well priced Victorian in Vermont
Its livable as it is, but the kitchen is REALLY dated (although it has two walk in pantries), and that and a few other rooms have drop ceilings which need to go. Also lacks a garage but there is plenty of space to add one if you want to, its on a 2 acre section whatever that is in hectares or square metres. Fantastic parquet flooring which looks in good condition, plus a beautiful tiled floor in one entrance foyer. Its located in a forested area so plenty of hiking etc locally which is a plus for me. Two bathrooms, with potential for more, apparently.
Only downside is over $10K a year in property taxes but theres lots of potential for Air B+B etc which would offset that. Needs a fair bit of mostly cosmetic work and decent furniture, although there are some nice bits and pieces here and there the rest is crap by the look of it. Good bones as they say

Tasteful Friends - Muddled Victorian in Wisconsin
Its quite a nice location apart from being in the middle of nowhere, only an option if you can work remotely. No garaging which I would want in a location that gets that cold in winter, but there's room to build one. Good value for money though, and I like a lot of the interiors bar some of the misplaced modern furniture. I like the first bedroom a lot. I'd want to repaint that kitchen a lighter colour/ white. Under $4K a year property taxes too.
Listing doesnt say when it was built but does tell us its an "original lumber baron's mansion" so likely over 100 years old, it does seem to have been added to and altered a lot though

Tasteful Friends - tacky penthouse in my home town
Its truly awful, sterile, yet tacky and gaudy all at once. Lifted from reddit, where some wag commented " looks like the dream home of Bruce Wayne after he married Liberace" and apparently the current owner/ vendor is a brothel owner to nobody's surprise at all. Money really cant buy taste!

Armin Navabi, Iranian-Canadian ex-Muslim atheist, author, may get Mamma's mussy steaming.
Wikipedia, Athiest Republic, Quillette and Queer Majority where got the blurb below from linked He is hot as fire, and to add the appeal stands for liberal Western values such as LGBT and womans rights against tyrannical medieval theocracies (like Iran). Was going to ask if he was gay but it turns out he has a wife, oh well never mind.

Tasteful Friends - a compact little London flat with two bedrooms, manageable and space efficient
Its Leasehold though which is unfortunate

Tasteful Friends, this one isnt for sale but I wish it was - its perfection
Not too big, not too small, and I love the interiors, I could live in this pretty much exactly as it is, its move in ready
Page isnt rendering correctly for me but all the pictures are there and thats what counts

Well well, George Galloway turns out to be the fascist shitstain I always thought he was
Yet another mask has fallen off
That said I would never have even contemplated voting for this antisemitic cunt

The Wind Cries MARY!
Was listening to some Hendrix today, and heard this song - is this the origin of the "Mary!" reaction I see sometimes to fellow gays being histrionic or dramatic? Seems to be something of an Eldergay thing, but its just a bit before my time, Im an Eldergay but not quite elder enough to have been around when this was at its heights of popularity
Eldergays - or Elderergays - please feel free to chip in if you know something about the origins of "MARY!"
Tasteful Friends. Presented without comment. Make of it what you will
Its in the UK. 16 pics mostly of the interior

London No Trousers Day - would you do this? I'd be game
Go to work on the tube dressed exactly as you would normally, except no trousers. There are a few nice in shape guys in the pics (and a fair few not so much)
Only other source with good pics is alas the Daily Mail

Tasteful friends - Apartment in Italy with an interior that is less plain and understated than the exterior
23 photos in all, the exterior is very ordinary, the interior less so. Very reasonably priced at 195K euro, set up as a one bedroom but could easily be set up as two bedroom or use one room as a wfh office

Tasteful Friends - A reasonably priced house of horrors in Las Vegas
Words fail me. It has been sold for $360K, quite probably to a blind purchaser needing a four bedroom home

Tasteful Friends, it looks OK from the outside.... but then you go inside.....
Interior design decisions were made. I suspect drugs were involved. Taste..... not so much

Tasteful Friends , a Georgian house in Devon, got it from same outfit that listed the Tudor joint Henry VIII gave his ex
Original property dates from the 1600's, but most of what we see here is late Georgian, it was largely extended and rebuilt in 1837, but the interiors look more Victorian to me. The lounge in particular is fantastic, I wouldnt change anything in there. The dining room is extremely cool too. The older parts of the house have low ceilings which I'm not a fan of, but its mostly bedrooms and functional rooms so no big deal. It comes with a stunning 4 acre garden, and its big - 6/7 bedrooms, 4 bath, so not something I'd want to take on by myself. Its got a detached coach house that could be let. It's 1.7 million pounds, not bad value for the size and location
Tasteful Friends - try this AI on for size!
Its on realtor.com, and allows you to enter a description of your dream home and spits out an AI rendering, plus a bunch of properties that match. This was the output when I entered the following;
Victorian, ornate, fretwork, turrets, stained glass, period
I'll be sure to post some matching properties. What an amazing tool

Tasteful Friends - nice old Victorian in Eureka, California - right sized and reasonable at 699K
Its a bit tired inside in parts and the furniture is utter shiite, looks like it was whatever they found at a local charity shop to fill the rooms with the exception of one reasonably nice walnut sideboard. The rest can go in the skip as far as I'm concerned.
The positives- its beautifully presented on the outside, and the landscaping such as it is is nice, and it has a roomy double garage, unusual for a home this age (1898). And it retains a lot of its period details, and more could be added. I even like the wallpaper! Even most of the light fittings are not too bad. The kitchen needs freshening but not being much of a cook I'd be happy to paint the cabinetry white and call it good. It does look pretty well maintained overall
Tasteful Friends - 1906 home, beautiful, but its in Detroit (at least one of the nicer parts)
The front porch and port de cochere look like later additions, particularly that porch. The interior is absolutely epic though for the most part, and staged with appropriate furniture that mostly fits the age and style of the house. Kitchen is dated but perfectly functional, I could live with it fine.
Doe have over $30K a year property taxes, but it also has a carriage house with three bedrooms, the rent of which could go towards offsetting that

Nicholas Fairford II - he's baaaack! And pretty as a picture
More of what we like (well OK, some of us)
Carry on of this here previous thread

Tasteful friends - I think I've found my dream house
Its not cheap at $2.3 million but its worth it. Absolutely amazing interior. Perhaps not for everybody though
Site I found it on is oldhouses.com but for some reason I cant post it from there, pity as it has some real gems

Something I learnt today; at Swedish swimming pools you are required to strip naked and wash yourself before entering the pool
This popped up on my phone this morning, and I have to say it makes good sense. I always shower before getting in the pool, basic hygiene and courtesy to everyone else in the pool. Showers arent poolside though, but in separate mens/womens changing rooms. Divided shower stalls at the pool I use, but no curtains, doesnt bother me, I'd be fine with open showers too

Tasteful Friends - heres a move-in ready place in the UK, 17 beds for 30 million pounds
[post redacted because linking to dailymail.co.uk clearly indicates that the poster is either a troll or an idiot (probably both, honestly.) Our advice is that you just ignore this poster but whatever you do, don't click on any link to this putrid rag.]
Tasteful Friends - whatcha gonna do?
Inspired by the "Malibu hilltop mansion can be yours" thread linked (and other extravagant but tacky monuments to mediocrity like Ryan Seacrest's place and that enormous 350 million buck joint that was on here a while back)
You've got a beautiful location and huge budget, say around the 50-80 million mark, and you can build anything you like, its to YOUR taste, not anybody else's, you do not need to consider resale value, this is your chance to build your dream home in your dream location

Chintz is comin back muthafuckers!
Fuck Yeah!! Frills and floral fabrics staging a Shock and Awe comeback, against all the boring grey/beige, blinding white and soulless minimalism
Roll on the Chintz invasion

Call Me By Your Name. searched for a thread on this, there isnt one
Saw this for the first time last night, friend loaned me the DVD, and yeah I was smitten. Its beautiful, a bit slow maybe, but thats part of its charm. Some incredibly sensual scenes made it worth the wait, and both the leads were fucking hot. I was expecting to find Elio hot, but Oliver was more hot in this than what I expected. The ending was so sad though, I ended up crying crying some like what Elio did, I could so relate cos I been there with that shit in the past.
In a way thats the only thing I would have liked to change - have Elio meet some lovely local boy and find love. Cant we have a happy fuckin ending in one of these things for once?
Wikipaedia link for any of yall out there thats been living under a rock the last few years. I actually didnt know James Ivory was involved in this, he done some other films I really loved like Maurice (which does manage to have a happy ending despite being based on a book written in 1913)

Help a thicko! How do some of you know or work out what other posts a poster has made?
Especially the Anonymous posters? I cant even see all my own posts, unless I find them in my watched list. I see people on here with an uncanny ability to pick trolls by what else they've posted, would love to know how you do it
Do gay men walk faster than straight men or folks in general? This seems to be a stereotype apparently.
I know I do, I walk real fast. I got shit to do and places to go, a long ways to go and a short time to get there
And I dont much like being held up by herds of the slow moving
How good is your gaydar?
Mine - well, its a worthless piece of shit. I have no idea if a guy is gay or not pretty much until he's grabbing my cock. I am constantly surprised to find that guys I thought were dead set straight are gay, and vice versa. I really cant pick them
How much exercise do DLer's do?
Doesnt have to be in the gym! Can be anything that gets your heart rate up a bit or makes you breathe had, be it a fast walk around the neighbourhood. I try to do at least an hour a day, sometimes manage 2-3. Swimming and cycling mostly, but also running up and down the stairs to work (I'm 9 floors up). Sedentary job, so I need to do something to offset that

Jack Mulhern - extremely beautiful, is he family?
Anyone know? Just curious, saw him online while I was looking for something else, Googled and couldnt find anything either way, maybe my Google-fu isnt working this morning

Post a guy you consider a 1
We've had 10's, beautiful men, smouldering sex gods all, now its the turn of the ugly, the replulsive, guys with a face like a smacked arse.
I'll start - Marcus Bachmann
