Tasteful Friends - A reasonably priced house of horrors in Las Vegas

Words fail me. It has been sold for $360K, quite probably to a blind purchaser needing a four bedroom home

The total Vegas Experience house, for those who like that sort of thing.

by Anonymousreply 2September 22, 2023 11:12 AM

Has to be the kitschiest house that ever kitsched. 'Nuff said.

by Anonymousreply 3September 22, 2023 11:22 AM

I can't decode some of the semiotics. What are the referents in this room?

R4 It reminds me of some levels in the old video game "Doom" or at least some kind of low-res video game from the last century.

by Anonymousreply 5September 22, 2023 11:24 AM

Thank you R5.

I love the minimal desert landscaping.

It seems on-brand for my stereotypical view of Vegas. Is there a victim of a mob hit buried in the foundations?

by Anonymousreply 8September 22, 2023 11:39 AM

Doesn't look mobbed up in the least. It's the little fantasy home of a nerdish guy who is kind to his family. The goth kid got a gothy bedroom but the other kid wanted something conventional. Mom's makeup vanity is from another house entirely.

by Anonymousreply 9September 22, 2023 11:41 AM

Does Siegfried's estate know that Roy is selling their first home?

by Anonymousreply 10September 22, 2023 11:43 AM

Words escape me.

by Anonymousreply 11September 22, 2023 1:09 PM

Gerg

by Anonymousreply 12September 22, 2023 1:10 PM

If you're going for a theme, you've got to commit. This guy is probably committed.

by Anonymousreply 13September 22, 2023 2:11 PM

What's most interesting - or amazing - is that it actually sold for HIGHER than listing.

I've gotta believe it was a negotiated give-back (covers closing costs in the mortgage) rather than a multitude of competing buyers.

Then again, it IS Vegas.

by Anonymousreply 14September 22, 2023 2:36 PM

What in the world...?

by Anonymousreply 15September 22, 2023 2:43 PM

Needs a bit of a face lift.

by Anonymousreply 16September 22, 2023 2:53 PM

It's it illegal to sell a meth house?

by Anonymousreply 17September 22, 2023 2:58 PM

Aren't meth houses suppose to be torn down? Bio hazard?

by Anonymousreply 18September 22, 2023 2:59 PM

Sorry, double post. ^

by Anonymousreply 19September 22, 2023 3:00 PM

Aaarrrgghhhh.

by Anonymousreply 20September 22, 2023 3:20 PM

Not even cute kitsch. Why didn’t they just buy a boat on Lake Meade?

by Anonymousreply 21September 22, 2023 9:14 PM

Now that is gaudy, even by Las Vegas standards.

by Anonymousreply 22September 23, 2023 1:05 PM

[quote]What's most interesting - or amazing - is that it actually sold for HIGHER than listing.

R14 Yes that struck me too, and even more astonishing is that the price it was listed for wasnt below market for the area, which I would have expected given how... special it was. Maybe the vendor just struck it really lucky and found a purchaser whose very specific and bizarre tastes matched theirs perfectly

by Anonymousreply 23September 23, 2023 10:18 PM

Were the inhabitants Psychotic? Serious Question.

by Anonymousreply 24September 23, 2023 11:04 PM

Could it have been a themed Airbnb? It isn't particularly close to the strip, but it isn't that far either.

by Anonymousreply 25September 23, 2023 11:08 PM

Is that astroturf in the bedroom?

by Anonymousreply 26September 24, 2023 12:57 AM

The street view seems quite conventional. I'm guessing the "ship's hold" interior is just paneling which could be replaced without too much difficulty.

He should have splurged and added a crow's nest.

The guy and his family had fun with their house. Keelhaul them.

by Anonymousreply 27September 24, 2023 12:58 AM

Yeah some of you are reading such nefarious intent into a decor that looks tacky, fun yet ugly, and mostly naive and inept, to me.

by Anonymousreply 28September 24, 2023 10:35 AM

It looks like it was designed by an operatic set designer for a hypnotic production of The Flying Dutchman.

by Anonymousreply 29September 24, 2023 11:10 AM

How far is this house from the strip? Is Las Vegas an ok place to live?

by Anonymousreply 30September 24, 2023 1:07 PM

MY EYES!

by Anonymousreply 31September 24, 2023 1:18 PM

Long John Silver cosplay whorehouse. Comes with parrot.

by Anonymousreply 32September 24, 2023 2:30 PM

Skipper was never the same after he was rescued from the island.

by Anonymousreply 33September 24, 2023 3:17 PM

Were the people who did that place up like that theme park workers?

by Anonymousreply 34September 24, 2023 3:19 PM

I kind of love it
