This popped up on my phone this morning, and I have to say it makes good sense. I always shower before getting in the pool, basic hygiene and courtesy to everyone else in the pool. Showers arent poolside though, but in separate mens/womens changing rooms. Divided shower stalls at the pool I use, but no curtains, doesnt bother me, I'd be fine with open showers too
Something I learnt today; at Swedish swimming pools you are required to strip naked and wash yourself before entering the pool

Uh, I've always done that, and I'm not Swedish.

Think about it, all those poorly wiped asses in the pool, then figure all the women who claim they can swim with a tampon because they won't leak, sure. I'd get naked in a heartbeat in public if it meant people will wash before the pool. If it's in private they will lie and say they washed. And NEVER EVER get in a public hot tub or spa, I've heard horror stories about what they pull out of those things. There are things chlorine can't handle.

I'm in the US, and every public pool I've been to has a sign of some sort asking people to take soap showers before entering the pool. It's not something that's strictly enforced, but it is requested.

Showering naked with other men is always welcome.

The real mindfuck has gotta be in the comments, like the first one;
[quote]It is similar at the public pools in Iceland, at least the larger ones. There was a guy whose job it was to sit and watch people shower naked and make sure they clean their groin etc. properly. He would definitely stop anyone who was lax in their cleaning. Imagine if that was your job 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.
If showering with other men is always welcome imagine having this for a job
[quote]Also, you were not allowed to bring street shoes into the changing area, and on the way out of the pool, after showering, you were required to dry completely while naked before you were allowed back into the changing area. There was also a centrifuge to dry your swimsuit. As a result the changing area was dry and immaculate - it was wonderful.
Damn that would be good, I hate it when people leave massive pools of water on the changing room floor. Towel dancers would not be happy though
R2 I have heard that some people in the US consider it OK to actually pee in the pool rather than get out and use the shitter. I cant get my head around that, so low class and trashy and I aint exactly high class or refined meself

R5 in fairness, fresh piss is actually pretty sanitary and harmless. I do agree that it's tacky AF for grown-ass adults to piss in a public pool though.

Gurl, people in Europe don't shower regularly, so they SHOULD have this custom out of respect for each other. Americans already shower all the time.
[quote]I'd be fine with open showers too
That's because you're a whore, darlin

Same here in Norway.

Same here in Germany

Lucky you, all those uncut cocks.

R6 piss isnt sanitary or sterile. And it degrades the chlorine in the pool making it less effective against viruses including COVID
R7 I dont get money for it so that makes me a slut, not a whore

Well, given the showering habits of DL-ers based on numerous threads, Swedish swimming pools are as off limits to them as colanders for draining pasta.

Oh, honey I wouldn't be so sure of that.

This is pretty normal in the US. My YMCA has a sign about it though it's often ignored by filthy ignorants.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 24, 2021 6:07 PM |
The Korean spas in the US require it too.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 24, 2021 6:11 PM |
OP- Big deal
In 1950 ALL males were required to swim naked- at the Y and in Junior and Senior high school.

Japanese are adamant about this, before entering the Onsen.
They have cleaning areas where you wash yourself before entering the hot springs.
It's a good policy.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with good hygiene.

But, but, the creepy leering eldergays....!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 24, 2021 6:32 PM |
I always shower naked.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 24, 2021 6:44 PM |
I understand having to shower before entering the pool, but is it really necessary to be naked?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 24, 2021 6:44 PM |
R16 I wasnt around in 1950. Or 1960. I doubt many on here were around in 1950 and old enough to remember it
R20 personally I think the requirement to be naked is probably unnecessary, but I arent complaining
