Gamers. Do DLers Play Video Game?
I just realized...I don't think I've ever seen many threads about any kind of video/computer games. It doesn't seem to be a thing enjoyed by your average DLer which wouldn't be surprising since we're all elderly, snooty, bitchy homosexuals.
But, they must exist on here...right? Game systems started taking off big by 1981 so they've been around for 40+ years.

So, a new thread once a year or so.
Yes. That certainly is a lot of threads.

It wasn't an option, but I'm 40-60 and used to play video games in my teens and twenties, but not since.

I’m 40-60 and play Diablo (all of them), Path of Exile, Grim Dawn and Last Epoch.

I debated about making a DL Discord, but there wasn't too much interest. I imagine that most gaymers here do their own thing. Steam Summer Sale is on right now, and I hope I picked up some good stuff I've been wanting to get: Disco Elysium, Victoria 3, Sultan's Game, X4: Foundation, & Persona 3. Otherwise I play Kenshi.

I love video games. I'm actually making one although it's my first and it's simple as that was the advice I got. With lots of help from ChatGPT.

So many threads, and there are also threads about individual games and types of games. Hell I think I even saw one about which porn stars play video games.

I played from the dawn of the PC age until about 2007 or 8 I guess it was.
I played Gunship in the 80s. 😂 On my PC XT.
When I got a 386 I played “Their Finest Hour” and “Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe.” This was in the 90s. I played “Empire” as well, and “Star Control.”
Big hiatus from about 1995 to 2006 or so.
I took up gaming again to play the Half-Life series of games. I played the original game, Blue Shift, and Opposing Force. I didn’t play HL2 but had a friend who played it and I used to watch him play.
Haven’t played since then. It’s been almost 20 years. All my gaming was desktop pc gaming.

R18 Of course! It's probably the most DL game of all time.
Manipulating people into peeing then dying in the pool.

60, still like strategy games and city builders and some RPGs. No interest in First Person Shooters or anything where it's just constant firing or relentless killing or blowing shit up.

I'm a huge fan of:
* "Soulsborne" games. Loved Elden Ring, but am waiting to get a better PC to play the DLC.
* Loved the Borderlands 1&2 and bought 3 during the last Steam sale, but haven't played yet.
* Loved Skyrim. Was tempted to play Starfield, but the reviews were so hot and cold.
* I still play Star Trek Online. It's a dated MMO, but I love the various ships in the game.

I was a teenager in the 80’s, when everybody was playing video games on the Atari or C64. I really loved d&d ,crpg type of games that really started to become sophisticated as 16-bit computers came up (Amiga, PC 386). Dungeon Master, Eye Of the Beholder, etc.
Now at 52, I still love crpg games, and just finished Baldur’s Gate 3, after going through the Divinity Original Sins series.

Crusader Kings remains my favorite of the past few years. I love to make everyone homo and see the Pope, Seljuks, & so-forth freak out; it's my favorite Medieval map-based dating simulator.

They're so boring.

Excuse me, sir, but that R2 unit is in prime condition. A real bargain.

I'm imagining an 8-bit version of Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz battling that chocolate factory conveyor belt or the insanely long bagettes coming out of the oven! 😂

My favorite games were Unreal Tournament (1999). Loved the soundtrack.
I love the GTA franchise as well: III, Vice City, San Andreas, IV and V (although I think V is a little bit overrated). Waiting for VI.
What I like the most about GTA are the radio commercials. They are so fucked up, unhinged, dark but funny as hell. The ones from GTA IV are the best.
