I play the FarCry series (looking forward to FarCry 5 next month), the Borderlands series, the Fallout series, Skyrim of course, The Sniper Elite series, Just Cause 3, the Dishonored series, and the Wolfenstein series. Among others. I tend to prefer the first person shooter type of games, obviously. I'm also playing "Wildlands" at the moment.
I don't play every day. But I certainly play every week. Depends on the game and how good it is. I put HUNDREDS of hours into Fallout 4 and Skyrim. I play Wildlands on the weekends with a friend in another city.
And anyone whose response to video gaming is "Grow up!" is just ignorant and arrogant and I have no time for you.

I am deeply into Assassins Creed Origins right now. Terrific game, I think the best of that series. The newest Wolfestein was great, also. Totally gonzo. Looking forward to the new Far Cry. Am I wrong, or does this year seem as if it's going to be a little lean as far as great games go?

Skyrim and Fallout gaymer here....one of the mods on Skyrim (they're all very family safe on consoles) allows you to kiss anyone (and if you aren't holding a weapon, yours and their clothes disappear-except for undies)..about the closest I get to sex anymore (as it has a physics animation which knocks you both to the ground and writhe about). Another mod turns everyone into model beautiful people. My game is lovely.
Sad, but lovely!

I'm almost 50, female, and gayming for me is relaxing and escapism. I'd rather do that than sit passively in front of a tv show for hours. I feel like gayming has kept me sharp.

I love the Team Ico games, and recently played the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, which was fantastic, I loved the original too. After that I replayed Last Guardian, which I love, though the ending makes me sad. I also loved South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Breath of the Wild, and Super Mario Odyssey. I am currently replaying God of War 3 in anticipation of the new one next week.
I love classic RPGs, like Chrono Trigger, but more modern ones don't thrill me as much. I'm still debating on Ni No Kuni II, and am looking forward to the next Dragon Quest, as those games still have a more old school feel to them

I love MMOs, and my main one has been Guild Wars 2 since it came out. Lots of gaymers there. It's one of the nicest and most accepting gaming communities I've experienced, and I've been playing MMOs since the 90s. There are even NPCs in same-sex relationships.
For non-MMOs, I play Sims3 and Cities: Skyline.

EA just announced Sims 4 is coming to the PS4 with most of the dlc from the pc version available so I might finally break down and buy a PS4 Pro.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 15, 2018 12:56 PM |
Isn't the problem with Sims4 that the dlc sucks? Not to mention the base game is stripped bare in favor of EA's unpopular micro transactional laden and pay-to-win business model. Sadly The Sims gameplay hasn't improved with each release. I thought Sims 2 was the best, I still sometimes play 3, but 4 isn't worth buying according to general consensus. Much like the current Sim city franchise.
On PC I'm currently playing Cities: Skylines and Elder Scrolls online, on Xbox One I'm playing Forza horizon, and on mobile I only play WordHero.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 15, 2018 4:22 PM |
I agree about the Sims. Sims2 was great, and there was so much great content made by the gaming community. I play Sims3 now, but hate how they stripped everything out of the game and made it all extra purchases. It feels less creative now, too, though at least the Sims have slightly better AI. I didn't bother to get Sims4--that looked like everything bad about the Sims3 was made worse.

I'm a big fan of all the Fallout games (specifically 1-4 of the main series), but I only recently got around to playing Fallout: New Vegas. Enjoyed what I got to play of it, but eventually, it just crashed non-stop and started giving me a blue screen of death that would corrupt my disk. Had to give it up until I can figure out how to play it without destroying my Windows install.
Very curious to hear more about Fallout 76 (not crazy about online games though).

Been playing Horizon Zero Dawn for a while. I was laid up for a few weeks with a work related injury and was bored. I had not played a game in over year. What an amazing game! The graphics are stunning as well. I think they modeled the scenery from Colorado and the Rockies. Playing the game now on NG+ UH your and it’s still pretty challenging.

I'd like to be a gaymer, it sounds like a fun hobby. My mom worked at a K-Mart distribution center and got me an Atari 2600, and tons of game cartridges, cheap. Of course all the other kids wanted to play with it, but I was better than any of the other kids. Eventually the controllers broke and you couldn't replace them, so I stopped playing. When Nintendo came along for my nephews, I was surprised I wasn't very good anymore, at the new games, except Tetris. So I lost interest in video games, but now I want to try it again.

Borderlands 2 is amazing, as are all of its DLCs. The final Tiny Tina DLC is one of the best DLCs ever for any game, with one of the best endings.

One of the main characters in Borderlands 2 is a gay man (Hammerlock, who also has his own DLC), and one of the main character in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is lesbian (Janey). It's a very inclusive game.

Playing Mass Effect 3 was when the lack of gay representation and my own numbness to really hit me.
Earlier that year I’d been feeling good that while Capcom hadn’t officially made Chris Redfield gay, they’d never made him straight either and ambiguous, possibly gay was the best I’d get.
Playing Mass Effect 3, I had my male Shepard running across one of the Citadel courtyards and the thought just hit me “I’m saving the universe and then going to see my boyfriend” And I had two different male love interests on two different game files.
It kind of changed gaming for me.

Mass Effect 3 had the best sexuality I've seen in gaming. Most games have characters that are all straight, or all bi if they want LGBT representation.
Mass Effect had straight characters, exclusively gay or lesbian characters, and bi characters so all the romances felt real.

R115 Sorta.
ME1 - All straight story, except the 'asarimance' Liara. Why wasn't this 'gay'? Because Bioware said so! We know asari are technically monogender, but they're heavily coded as 'female'. We all know it was gay, but I'm going to be charitable and say that they did this because of censors and marketing and so on.
ME2 - Actually even straighter for the most part. Liara wasn't as present (except in DLC), and the 6 true romances in the game were all straight. I don't recall any gay references except with the asari (again, not f/f! not gay!), and that you can be skeevy and have your yeoman dance for you regardless of your sex - even progressive Bioware would fall apart in the #meetoo. I think with ME1 they were gay-open but had concerns about how much they should be, but with ME2 it was more blatant EA-originating dudebro pandering.
ME3 - For something allegedly more dudebro than ME2, it is arguably still the most gay-friendly, albeit imperfect. For males, there's Kaidan-turned-bi (it isn't super jarring, but it is a little) and a new secondary character Steve (he is meh). For females, there's Liara as a focus again, and a new secondary character Samantha (she is okay). And I think there's just a generally more gay-acknowledging vibe in the writing, I just can't recall examples. It is annoying to have Shepard with no romance through ME1-ME2 (but keep Kaidan in squad in ME1), to finally Kaidan-mance in ME3.
MEA - For something allegedly more 'SJW' (ugh) than ever, it can be rather annoying with some of its gay-inclusion, particularly male. For females there's at least Vetra and Peebee for squad characters (both 'bi', one 'asari'), and supposedly writers had to fight for Vetra to be bi. There's also a ship character Suvi, and a secondary character Keri. With Suvi as exclusive lesbian human romance, that's a progression, even as it annoyed lots of straight male gamers. So for the most part, I think LGB female gamers got their stuff. For males... not so much. At first, there was only a ship character Gil and a secondary character Reyes, none in squad. This wouldn't be so bad, but compared to other combos (m/f, f/m, f/f), it was done super shity. Gil was a sometimes-disturbing (in his storyline implications) and often blandly written character. They got a Game of Thrones actor to play him but you wouldn't tell. I'm open to him for a sequel but he must be done incredibly better. He was NOT appealing. Reyes could have been great, but he must be understood to only be relevant in one major chapter of the game and nothing else, and the animators didn't give a shit about the m/m combo for animations. Both characters seemed to be throw-ins to checkoff 'm/m in game'. So actually worse than ME3, where at least Bioware seemed to have people who made it some sort of personal priority. Then a patch came where you could (bi) romance an alien, Jaal, as a male. It was polished, it made enough sense in the story (though Jaal was the sort to talk more about female interests, but he is also written to be generally emotional), and the animations weren't broken. So if one could stomach aliens, Jaal became automatic. Many look back on this patch fondly. Others look back on it as 'that gay patch' that was the last or nearly last one, when the game needed much more.
If the next ME game wants to go 'forward', it'd have a major squad human character be exclusively gay. Considering that development may turn back to Edmonton from Montreal, maybe this'll happen. Similar with Dragon Age (though arguably they did it already, but lets add 'particularly masculine' to requirements).
If gaming itself wants to go forward, it'd have openly gay male protagonists. For all the backpatting (some very deserved, some not) of including female, lesbian, black, etc characters, there's not much going on about gay. I feel it's the taboo that even GenX/Millennial game devs aren't touching, so it'll take GenZ/Alpha devs to get transgressive.

In terms of MMORPGs, the most gay inclusive game is actually not something like WoW (they have hints at best? I can't recall), but in my experience, The Secret World.
There's characters ranging from suggesting sexuality, to very open about it. In New England there's a male cop and biker couple that as updates go on, we have more clear info about their attractions to one another. In Egypt there's a male pair of an elder and young adult archaeologists that are at least essentially married. In Transylvania there's a couple of brothers that flirt with the player character no matter the gender (this happens elsewhere too - easy to put in game). There's also an out lesbian. In Japan there's a transgender (actually perhaps hermaphrodite/intersex) and a man that dumped her but not because she was intersex (though she thinks so).
The way the game depicts things, the player character is nearly canonically bi/pan/anything. But we can handwave/headcanon the reasons for some things happening to us ('oh it was something like sex magic').
Basically the game doesn't give a fuck.
Other gay inclusive games include especially Guild Wars 2, and somewhat RIFT (a major early storyline had moderate implications of a lesbian relationship).

R111 Have you played the two most recent Tomb Raider games (that came after the 2013)? I'm going to play the third in the reboot series soon as my bf has it. The last one was fun enough.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | October 25, 2018 4:00 PM |
R122 Yes I've played the second and found it good but not as great as the first one. I'm playing the third one now and it's not that good sad to say. I find the story kind of wacky compared to the first two. The stealth is much improved but at the expense of combat which there isn't much of. And you have too many options for gadgets and crafting and such
by Anonymous | reply 123 | October 25, 2018 4:11 PM |
Skyrim had a tiny bit of gay content. You could marry another guy (there were few options). The whole marriage thing was half-baked.

r119 I have played all those games. Loved RIFT for a long while until they got that new CEO. The Secret World has a fantastic storyline - I just wish more people played it. They did a reboot of it recently (basically an overhaul of mechanics and some new features) and it's now "Secret World Legends". I wish they'd do a movie or Netflix series based on the concept. Maybe it's more inclusive because it's made by Funcom, a Norwegian company.

Almost all of the games being released this generation have so much sameness to them. Where are the platformers? Where are the racing games like Burnout? (And NO, a "remastered" Burnout Paradise doesn't cut it). I've never regretted a purchase as much as I do my PS4. After all these years I still only play ONE game on the f'ing thing (GTAV). It also irks me that they make PS+ mandatory to play online now, and promised they'd improve their network in exchange for the added expense. I've yet to see any improvements! Fuck Sony, I will not be buying a PS5. Fool me once.

LOL, were you not alive yet when the XBO was first announced and Microsoft was trying to fuck everyone over? You seem to have forgotten that whole debacle, but many of us haven't. I love how public backlash always causes these companies to eventually cave and do the right thing (as happened with the XBO and now Sony cross-play). You'd think they'd learn to simply do the right thing from the start and save themselves the damage to their brands.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | October 26, 2018 1:27 PM |
R127, you're parroting a lie. Microsoft was not trying to fuck anyone over with the Xbox One at release. The reaction to their announcement was grossly unhinged. ESPECIALLY given that virtually everything they announced then is now standard practice. I haven't bought a physical game DVD in years and years. It's all online now. If they had any issue at all, it was 1) poor communication, and 2) being too far ahead of everyone else.
It was only a debacle in the minds of morons.
The public 'backlash' from gamers was and is just as unhinged as the entire gamergate fiasco.
Fuck off with your bullshit. And Xbox One X is still by Far the best gaming console out there, and Sony's multiplayer and controllers have ALWAYS sucked compared to Xbox. And the company is still pure evil.

R125 I've met the CEO when he was more of a dev/producer and while he was nice, he was always 'on'. I'm sure that being of executive position in the declining company has affected things.
Yeah I play SWL. There is/was talk of doing a Secret World tv show, but no updates since 2017 so many not.
R120 It wasn't a knock against Dorian. It's just that he was a more flagrant gay stereotype that the writer honestly seemed to want him to be (himself kind of flaming). This is a relatively safer decision (playing to enjoyable stereotypes to reduce threat) than to make someone of a more masculine male lead be gay, especially in near-exclusivity (basically if they had someone in the Cullen role be gay, and didn't include a Blackwall). DAI was very gay *inclusive*, but video games are almosttttt never gay *centric*, especially mainstream-facing ones. We aren't at the point of industry being comfortable with blockbuster lead roles going to gay male characters, neither in Hollywood nor video games. There's always a * next to it, like Bioware/Bethesda/Sims/etc going 'well it's an option!' instead of it being a fixture, and 'we have characters around!' instead of 'this major, exclusively centric character that is also a masculine male'. This is all the industry being inclusive, while ultimately calibrating so to not scare too many cultures, players, national regulations.
Some gaming is actively doing something else. The Last of Us 2, whatever you say about it, is being more than forthright about the lesbianism - but again, we know in so much of media that there's a greater comfort (maybe with creators, maybe audiences, maybe decision makers) with lesbianism than gay males. In Bioware games until rather recently (DAI? MEA?), the romance sexual scenes would be up to equal explicitness (as in kissing, groping, suggestive gestures) of f/f to hetero scenes, but m/m always had more of a fade to black and suggestive speak instead of action. And they're the progressives in the mainstream industry.
I think it took Gen X devs to eventually even bother with gay content in their games (leading to 1990s-00s content), and its taken Millennial devs to try to equalize things at times (leading to 2010s and onward), but it'll take emerging Gen Z devs to outright normalize it in the next couple decades. Less activist stance of defensively putting gay characters in games knowing the backlash, and more "Yes, we're doing this, so?"
by Anonymous | reply 132 | October 26, 2018 3:38 PM |
I think it's pretty normalized in Guild Wars 2. The staff is young, a mix of sexualities and gender identifications, and it shows in how the npc's are presented within the story lines of the game, with their own natural mixture of sexualities and gender identifications. The players feel comfortable expressing who they are, and it's probably the most overall positive and accepting game environment of any MMO I've played. (And I've been playing MMOs since the early '90s.)
by Anonymous | reply 133 | October 26, 2018 3:55 PM |
R126 I think there are indie platformers still and the occasional larger release. I imagine the Wii has some. I was never really a fan of them other than the 3D ones.

by Anonymous | reply 135 | October 26, 2018 4:40 PM |
r133 I agree. There's a real 'players helping players' feel to the game, which is probably assisted by the Living World events where anyone can participate, and the down-but-not-dead state where you can still be revived. I'm weird in that I like MMOs but I don't like grouping with people - I like them there/around, but not bound to them in a group structure. So it's a good way to play for me. The game was created by an Austin company which then got sold to a South Korean company, but I think they still have autonomy in that it hasn't become a grindfest.

Don't play online games with strangers.
The only games I play online are co-op games, where I play with friends I know well.
Playing with strangers is a horrible experience. I avoid any on-line games where you play AGAINST other live players that are just random. There is nothing less appealing about a game than an online massively multiplayer game with player-vs-player (PvP). You couldn't pay me to engage in that kind of crap.
I like to have FUN when I play games. It's not fun to play against most idiots (especially 'gamer-gaters' … homophobic sexist racist monsters with no social skills who are busy destroying everything... talk about deplorable).

Only if you're stupid enough to give them information about yourself, r146. And not everyone in MMOs is a gamergater or shitty. I like playing MMOs because I can be pretty anonymous if I wish.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | October 27, 2018 7:58 PM |
Playing in games with strangers (or randoms in public games) must vary depending on the type of game you play. That's just a terrible generalization. Although I see your point in PVP versus PVE.
Another vote for the ME trilogy, although I enjoyed games 1 and 3 much more than 2. ME 3's multiplayer is a blast and still active coming on 7 years now.

R149 I got that and now I'm thinking I might wait another few weeks for them to fix the thousand or so bugs they say are in the next patch. Looks good so far though, just haven't had time to jump into it.
Call of Cthulu is coming out October 30th! Once I can install it and play it a bit I'll see how that turns out.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | October 29, 2018 8:18 PM |
Call of Cthulu came out a day early! Or maybe it was midnight GMT. Whatever, I spent four hours playing it tonight. It's quite good so far. A bit more linear than I would like but you can see there's some replayability in making different choices as well as random chance in some spots. I wish the world was more interactive; it was designed for a controller I think so you're limited to what you can interact with.
I like the Sanity meter so far and managed to survive my encounter with the Shambler (eventually) which was quite horrifying. The Gallery setting was incredible even before I had a ravenous interdimensional creature stalking me.
The graphics are great and I like the design and look of the scenes. I'm six parts in, I think. Not sure how many there are but I've enjoyed the game a lot so far.

You can cheat fairly easy in Stardew Valley (just get into the game's save system log files and change the amounts of stuff you want, money, items, dishes, gems, artifacts etc.).
And Cult Simulator even comes with its own cheat engine. Just use a keyboard combination and it pops right up (just type the keywords of the items you want to get spawned or despawned).
BTW. In Stardew Valley your avatar can marry (and have babies) with NPCs of the same sex.

The homophobic scenes with the flaming stereotypes saying "ooooooh he's straight" ruined the game for me. I'm thinking about complaining and making a giant stink about it so that the developers know to remove the "behind the times" Japanese shit before translating for American audiences.

R210 For what its worth thats only two scenes in a 100 hour game. They were as bad as they sound. But the game is still very enjoyable.
Still its weird for them to take this step backwards since there was a gay character that was handled mostly well in Persona 4

If it's not on Xbox, it doesn't exist.
I will never understand gaming companies who put out PC versions, but not Xbox versions. They're practically interchangeable. It's certainly easier to write a single game for PC/Xbox than for PC/PS

R219 because Xbox charges big fees for the privilege of being released on their platform, and charges fees if you put out a patch, and also takes a percentage of your revenue. Releasing on PC is much cheaper.

by Anonymous | reply 232 | January 20, 2019 2:59 PM |
It's just stupid bias, nothing more. Xbox has the best development platform, and is easily ported across to PC because it's the same processor and architecture. There is zero good reason to not release on Xbox & PC simultaneously.
And Sony is evil. Sony bans cross-play. Sony micromanages. MANY artists have protested Sony over the years and decades for how terrible they are. Why would anyone support them by buying a playstation?
by Anonymous | reply 233 | January 20, 2019 3:04 PM |
R233 Everything you say it true, Xbox should be the go to development platform. But you miss the actual problem. Xbox charges a lot in fees to developers and takes a higher cut of sales than other platforms. That chases them away. I've encoutered a few indie games now that are offered on every platform but xbox
by Anonymous | reply 234 | January 20, 2019 3:06 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 236 | January 20, 2019 3:09 PM |
R236 read the polygon comments or gamedev message boards. Developers have been complaining about Xbox's astronomical fees and profit sharing for ages. There's been several articles published on how their fees for patches are so high that indie developers can't afford it even if they can get the game on the platform.

I finished Just Cause 4, and I have to say, it was pretty disappointing. Just Cause 3 was one of my favorite games the year it came out. Just Cause 4 fumbled the execution almost entirely. They robbed it of the fun, over-complicated things unnecessarily and for no good reason, just sapped the game of motivation, and it had some of the ugliest cut-scenes I've seen in a game... they would have been embarrassing on a console from two generations ago, let alone a 4K gaming rig. The only fun I actually had in the game was the fun I made for myself while just playing around in the sandbox world, ignoring the actual missions.
I'd have to say that 2018 was "The Year Of Disappointing Games"... Far Cry 5 paled considerably from FC3 and FC4 and FC:Primal… Fallout 76 was a complete disaster, and Just Cause 4 was a hollowed-out misfire.

I've watched a few anime movies by Miyazaki because the art is really well done (even if the stories are usually super sad) but I don't go out of my way to seek them out. I did like Thundercats when I was a kid, of that means anything.
I am just not a fan of the art style in my games. I either like super realistic like Elder Scrolls Online or something like Guild Wars 2 where it's realistic-adjacent but has a unique style (it's a little influenced by anime, but that's as close as I get).

I'm a huge Bioware fan but I don't know what to make of Anthem. I dislike Destiny with passion and Anthem seems to be more or less Destiny with only a slightly better story. I'm currently pondering whether I should preorder the game or not since that gives you access to the game demo that goes live in two days. Decisions decisions.

[quote] have you played Destiny 2? It's actually pretty fun.
I only played the original Destiny when it was released. Judging by the trailers I was waiting for some epic RPG à la Bioware but it turned out to be just another space FPS with practically no story at all. The graphics were beautiful and the gameplay itself seemed extremely smooth but I just couldn't get into it. Granted I only played it for like two hours but I could tell. AND I'm just not into the online multiplayer thing. Destiny 2 seems to more of the same so there was no reason to even try it, although it's been free to play on several occasions already. Unfortunately Anthem seems almost like a carbon copy of Destiny. They even have almost the same bloody story of god-like aliens creating a world and then leaving it behind. The Mass Effect trilogy is my absolute favorite in any gaming and it's sad to see Bioware going this way. Then again Andromeda was pretty much terrible so who really cares anymore.

R260 My bf watches a lot of anime (maybe all of them?) I think it's unwatchable. The most I can say for it is that some of the concepts are interesting. He's never been an incel though: he's had so much sexual experience (with women, men, and every combination of them in a group setting) that I'm a bit jealous.
R261 Ok, if Spirited Away is considered Anime, I will give that one a pass. I feel like Miyazaki's films are in their own class, though.

Anime was mainly the area for loner computer nerds who wanted to marry Asian girls (and usually did). It didn't reach "mainstream" popularity until the last few decades with the rise of the Internet.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | January 28, 2019 6:55 PM |
^ Mainstream popularity in the US, I mean. Obviously it was popular in Japan.
I didn't equate anime with things like Thundercats and Speed Racer (well, Speed Racer, I guess, because it was REALLY anime, Thundercats wasn't exactly, just an import) until I was older and knew what it was.

I know, I've cried about it in my earlier posts. The Mass Effect trilogy is my all time favorite gaming series and I played Dragon Age: Inquisition for over 200 hours so it's sad to see Bioware going the Destiny way. Still, I've always liked the fighting mechanics in their games so I'll see what Anthem feels like. A free demo is a great thing. Destiny did the same when the first one was coming out and I cancelled my pre-order after trying it out.
by Anonymous | reply 282 | February 1, 2019 1:58 AM |
OK, 10 minutes of Anthem was enough for me, and I didn't enjoy one second of it. It felt basically like Destiny, although obviously with a very slight Bioware twist. I'm sure some people will love it, just like tons of people love Destiny, but these kinds of games aren't for me. I do enjoy playing FPS's occasionally but I don't feel comfortable at all with Destiny-like online multiplayer games.
It's a shame I didn't feel any emotional connection with Anthem. I was annoyed by the characters and their lines, even though obviously the interaction was very brief, but still. Oh well, there's always hope the next Dragon Age delivers.

by Anonymous | reply 284 | February 1, 2019 6:56 PM |
Is there actually going to be another Dragon Age?
I just don't have a lot of faith in BioWare any more. And it's not because of the problems with Andromeda, it's because they just gave up on it. There were plenty of problems with the first Mass Effect, but they managed to fix them by the second game. I don't even like open world games, and there were still more thangs about Andromeda that I liked than that I didn't.
I'm really happy that adventure games are having kind of a renaissance. I've always been more into games as storytelling, which is why I gravitate towards them and more linear RPGs. There are two big releases, The Sinking City and Twin Mirror, that are right up my alley. The latter is from Dontnod, the company who made Life is Strange, so that's encouraging.
by Anonymous | reply 285 | February 1, 2019 7:12 PM |
Dragon Age 4 is definitely coming. They showed a teaser trailer last December. The working title is apparently Dragon Age: The Dread Wolf Rises. Quick googling tells that "sources within Bioware" have said the game won't come out before 2021.
BTW, the voice of Solas in the trailer sounded familiar and I had to check who it is. It turned out to be Gareth David-Lloyd who played Ianto Jones a.k.a the lover of Captain Jack in Torchwood. Gareth is so unlike Ianto that it's almost funny. He's straight and has one kid with his wife. He also sings in a metal band.

[quote] Is there actually going to be another Dragon Age? I just don't have a lot of faith in BioWare any more.
I was positive about Dragon Age 4 but after seeing the hammering Anthem is getting from the critics I'm actually starting to get afraid Anthem might end up destroying Bioware. I'm obviously being dramatic here since reviewers generally seem to enjoy playing Anthem to a point but all the reviews I've read are saying it's a grindy experience, half-finished and buggy. The launch sale numbers will probably look absolutely terrible. I still don't understand who the hell thought a Destiny-like game would suit a company known for big RPGs and complex stories. It's all so very confusing.
Metacritic score is currently 64. Oh well.

My concern isn't that another Dragon Age isn't coming, but rather that 'Dread Wolf Rises' may indeed be the title, and its worded that way because its some side-game, maybe even some mix RPG/battle-royale bull. Like baiting anyone for any semblance of a DA4 story by doing a relatively cheap fantasy battlefield.
If so, fuck it and fuck them.

I only play the Sims Mobile on iPad. It's kind of scandalous. My gay couple are woohoo sluts who are constantly cheating on each other, usually when the other is right in the room. One had a son with another man and now his husband has an impure relationship with the stepson, you know, because he can. They all dress well and I get a lot of stickers that reflect that. I'm feeling really bad right now, but I had another character (who literally was a FtM) marry another man and bring him into the household just so I could retire the new guy and make him a grey-haired elder so that he would leave me an heirloom. The elder's husband is still young, so it's like something out of a horror film. The game is ready to kill the elder, but I refuse to click the icon to make it so, forcing him to wander the property, stooped over and wearing nothing but a speedo.

[quote] Andromeda is dead, port the damn trilogy.
Bioware is still saying their next Mass Effect game could be a sequel to Andromeda, or a sequel to the original trilogy. Judging by a Kotaku games journalist who's spoken with his contacts at Bioware almost all of the people making Dragon Age 4 were transferred to work on Anthem a long time ago. That sounds so sad, especially knowing what an unfinished mess Anthem still is. It seems Bioware is currently only focused on Anthem, and that could go on for a very long time because the game is supposed to be getting new content regularly for years. Apparently no one is working on Mass Effect. It seems it takes at least 3 years to properly develop an AAA game which means we shouldn't be expecting anything decent from Bioware for a very long time.
I'd absolutely love to see Bioware updating the Mass Effect trilogy with modern graphics, and obviously port it to PS4, but the reality is the trilogy has been on sale for a few dollars for years which means most people already have it, and might not care for a remastered version. Mass Effect 1 would need tons of work to even resemble a modern game.
I personally really missed playing a huge RPG and finally bought The Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition. I've yet to receive it and quite honestly I don't expect to fall in love with the game but it had great reviews and players generally seem to love it. I've never played a CD Projekt Red game, mostly because of the apparently homophobic The Witcher 2, but since they showed the male protagonist having a gay relationship in the Cyberpunk 2077 demo I've decided to give them a chance.

Honestly, I don't want anything else to do with BioWare except for a port of ME to the current gen systems.
I overall liked Andromeda, and there were some elements that I REALLY loved, and there was nothing wrong with it that they couldn't have fixed like they did from ME to ME:2. But no, they decided to focus on Anthem, and make sure they got them microtransactions.
They held out longer than most, but EA did what EA does to all the studios they buy.

R303, that's hilarious. I'm rarely into horror games and I haven't played RE2 Remake, but I've certainly noticed how handsome the protagonist is. Good to see his body is so realistic looking under the clothes. Yummy.

Wrong R299. The Xbox controller is fat and bulbous. No ergonomics whatsoever. They keep making it slimmer each generation. While the PS controller is basically unchanged from the PS 1
by Anonymous | reply 307 | February 25, 2019 4:10 PM |
R300 most people who owned all the Kingdom Hearts games for PS2/PS3 still bought the remastered collection. Because its preferable to play that stuff on your current console rather than dig up something old and plug it in.
I don't even need ME1 updated. I just want to replay it. It was a perfectly fine game the way it was. Whiners just didn't appreciate it. The same way they complained about the amazing game Dragon Age just because the graphics were subpar. And where did that get us? Dragon Age 2, an utter disaster of a video game. But hey at least it was pretty!

The Dragon Age series is my all time favorite. I've played it heavily modded on my PC so that I can have maximum gay romance choices (and multiple romances at the same time). In DA Origins I romanced Alistair and Zevran (both of whom were way hotter thanks to some great mods, modded them both so they were bottoms) and married Alistair; in DA2 I romanced both Fenris and Anders (preferred Fenris who seemed more like a true bottom); in DAI I romanced Solas, Cullen, Dorian, Iron Bull, and Blackwall (who was modded to look even hotter with a mohawk and stubble rather than full beard) and married Cullen.
I'm just finishing up Dragon Quest 11. I love it, way more than I expected to. It has a bit of an anime look to it so I wasn't too sold when I first started playing but the story, worldbuilding, gameplay, and characters really won me over. Through the whole game it's kind of been my head canon that the main character and Erik are together. They have a lot of chemistry. I could also see the main character with Hendrik, and even with Sylvando when the mood strikes). My head canon is that he's fucking all of them but Erik is his boyfriend. I'm going to be sad when this game ends - I'm on my 150th hour of gameplay and about to face the final boss.

R310 About DQXI: (Maybe spoilers?) Apparently the new "definitive" version for the Switch actually contains the option to choose to live with Erik or Hendrik at the end instead of Whatsherface from the beginning. Of course it's a "no homo" living arrangement, whereas you can marry the girl. Read it online so idk if it's true or not. Guess we'll find out soon. The Switch version also adds more playable side stories for all the party members so I hope they add that as DLC for the PS4 version 'cause I ain't down to buy the whole game again.
by Anonymous | reply 312 | February 25, 2019 8:47 PM |
Wow, R312, I really hope they add that (the otion to live with Erik or Hendrik plus more playable stories for everyone) as DLC for the PS4. I would love more content. This game has really delivered and I'm sad that it's almost over.

To the Dragon Quest fans. I'm interested but the game play seems simplistic. Was it still enjoyable/deep enough for you guys?
by Anonymous | reply 314 | February 25, 2019 9:13 PM |
It gets deeper as it goes on. When I started playing, for about the first 15-20 minutes I wasn't too sure about it. I also thought it seemed too simplistic. But once you set out on the real quest it picks up considerably. It took about until the time when Erik becomes the first companion for me to really get into it. When you get more companions it gets more fun and interesting.

by Anonymous | reply 322 | March 3, 2019 3:42 PM |
And the fanboys are still rimming it.
The weird thing is, there actually ARE a lot of games coming out this year that I actually really want to play, in particular The Outer Worlds and Cyberpunk. Although Anthem and Fallout have really hammered home the message not to preorder.
by Anonymous | reply 323 | March 3, 2019 3:56 PM |
I'm still giggling at the notion that the PS4 controller is in any way better than the Xbox One X controller. As if.
And Xbox has the adaptive controller for differently-abled people, allowing them to play. Sony tells disabled people to go suck it.
by Anonymous | reply 324 | March 3, 2019 4:02 PM |
Yeah, I'll never pre-order again.
But I have to say that even though Far Cry 5 was a disappointment, Far Cry: New Dawn was actually pretty fun.

R324 It's just objectively true the PS4 controller is better. That's not my opinion, it's Microsoft's. Look at the Original Xbox controller
by Anonymous | reply 326 | March 3, 2019 4:13 PM |
Why are you talking about the original xbox controller (which did suck) when that was … 15 years ago?
The current xbox controller is OBJECTIVELY better than the PS4 controller. IT's far more comfortable and ergonomic.
Get out of here with your Sony worship. Seriously, that company sucks, and the PS4 is lame.
by Anonymous | reply 327 | March 3, 2019 4:23 PM |
And how did they improve the Xbox controller over three generations? By slowly making it resemble the PS4 controller more and more. Now they are near identical. While the PS4 controller is barely modified from PS1 days. Sony found the best button layout and grip early on
by Anonymous | reply 328 | March 3, 2019 4:26 PM |
No, R328. It doesn't resemble the PS4 controller. Just stop with this weird slavish fantasy of yours.

Too bad the thread was ruined by the two stanning over their respective preferred systems. I have had all three systems and each one has its good part. I currently own the PS 4 but I would buy a Switch or the current Xbox if I had more time and money. I am currently playing RedDead Redemtion and the new Resident Evil reboot. I am excitedly waiting for Death Stranding. One of the characters is modeled on Mads Mikkelson.

There really isn't enough on the Switch to make it worth the investment for me. For whatever reason, Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild leave me cold, despite the latter being gorgeous.
by Anonymous | reply 331 | March 3, 2019 4:35 PM |
More and more is coming to the Switch, and I think Microsoft is working with Nintendo to bring streaming Xbox games to the Switch.
Meanwhile, Sony is banning any games on its console from cross-play with Xbox or PC. Because Sony sucks.
by Anonymous | reply 332 | March 3, 2019 4:39 PM |
I have a PS4 and my partner has an XBox One. I've been thinking of getting a Switch so I can play Breath of the Wild. I loved Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I mostly play RPGs like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dragon Quest, Witcher 3, Skyrim, etc.
Is the Switch worth it for RPG choices besides BotW?
by Anonymous | reply 333 | March 3, 2019 4:45 PM |
I've heard BotW is almost worth the cost by itself (I've never played any Zelda game, but those who I know do seriously LOVED it).
But I'm not sure there's much else like that on there NOW, but honestly, more is coming. Depends on if you want to gamble. Maybe it's worth it if you have the money.
by Anonymous | reply 334 | March 3, 2019 4:47 PM |
Cross-play doesn't appeal to me. I really don't like playing online, because I'm old and just want to play to be by myself. Sony has the best library of exclusives right now, at least to my mind, so it "wins" automatically. As if Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo care a jot about the amount of noise their fanboys know. They just want to keep getting their money.

by Anonymous | reply 336 | March 3, 2019 9:45 PM |
R333 I love my Switch but the RPG choices aren't great. The good ones are all available on other systems. If you already have a PS4 you have access to the best RPG library (minus mass effect trilogy)
There are other great games for Switch tho! Splatoon 2 is the best online third person shooter bar none. I say that as a devoted fan of Battlefront and Call of Duty and other more "serious" shooters. Smash Brothers is also quite fun. And Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever made

I used to play Simcity, but disliked the way it evolved. EA is such a greedy game killer.

Yeah, the story is shit but as far as gameplay (tombs, challenges), it's tops. I've never really been a big video game story guy tho. I mean...I loved Far Cry 5, but apparently, people had a big moral issue with the story. I play games to escape that shit. I just like making things go boom.

R346 I mostly agree the gameplay from that one is top notch. Especially the harder settings.
BUT my one big complaint is all the underwater diving required. I liked it at first but they just put in way too much of it during the main campaign
by Anonymous | reply 347 | March 5, 2019 1:30 PM |
Shadow of the Tombraider was boring as shit, gameplay wise. I don't get why people like that sort of 'game'. IT's totally "on rails". Like being walked through a movie. So dumb. And the "harder" settings are FUN, they're frustrating and annoying. Games should be FUN, not pains in the ass.
Give me open-world game play like Far Cry New Dawn any day.
by Anonymous | reply 348 | March 7, 2019 6:03 AM |
Sims4 is a huge ripoff R338 EA basically took everything that was standard in the original games and put it in DLC packs that they charge a small fortune for.
by Anonymous | reply 349 | March 7, 2019 10:52 AM |
EA already did that with Sims3. Apparently that wasn't enough?
And Sims3 is a 10-year-old game, but you still have to pay hundreds of dollars to get enough little packs to make it playable. (I know Steam has sales sometimes.)

Steam which contains Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Fallout IV, then there's JNES which emulates an NES console and has the usual things like Super Mario Brothers 1,2 and 3, Xevious, PacMan, Zelda etc. Then of course there's Project 64 which emulates a Nintendo 64 bit system and I have Mario Kart and a few other games on that.

Ugh, I recently read a Kotaku piece about the development of Dragon Age 4. They began developing the game soon after Inquisition but in 2017 Bioware rebooted the process and apparently started pretty much from the scratch. This caused the Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director Mike Laidlaw, a writer of Mass Effect as well, to leave the company and he is now working at Ubisoft. Part of the team working on Dragon Age had to stop working on Dragon Age and instead help with Mass Effect: Andromeda and then later with Anthem. And apparently DA4 is going to have a "live service" element which obviously is not good news for DA fans, although the Kotaku writer Jason Schreier does say he's not expecting the game go as far with the online elements as Anthem does.
Bioware is apparently pushing their devs way too hard and work atmosphere is shit. What a shame. I'm about to start listening to an audiobook about the development of Dragon Age: Inquisition called Blood, Sweat, and Pixels by the same Kotaku writer Jason Schreier. Must say Bioware is the only games company whose process interests me enough to read a whole book about it.

I had been playing FFXIV on and off for about four years until that disastrous event where they announced genderlocked new races (fanservice women in lingerie versus ugly beastmen for men) and no new healer. I'm a feminist gay male healer main so the coming expansion is a punch in the gut.
I've gone back to Warframe, one of my old favorites. Ash Koga skin is dead sexy but I mostly play Limbo because I like his powers. He's very dapper as well.
I play League of Legends from time to time but the people are often childish assholes. Most of the time, actually.
I also jump into Assassin's Creed Odyssey several times a week. It's an almost painfully beautiful game. After spending an afternoon exploring a Greek isle as maybe the hottest video game character ever I don't want to return to my mundane life.

Any good JRPG recommendations as of late?
by Anonymous | reply 415 | May 3, 2019 10:14 PM |
r415 i cannot recommend Persona 5 enough. Its in my top 3 games of all time. The FF12 remaster is also excellent. Same for any of the remastered Tales games. Tales of Vesperia is the best imho.
But it does feel like that genre is dying out no? They were a dime a dozen in my childhood.

Best JRPG that's out right now is probably the latest Dragon Quest.

Dragon Quest : Echoes Of An Elusive Age. It's available on Steam if you don't have a PS4.
Great game, and after you beat it for the first time, the timeline changes (I guess) and you get to continue playing.

Dragon Quest games are pretty but they are all the same. You play one you've played them all. I more appreciate Final Fantasy trying something new each time. Even though they sometimes misfire

FF VII Remade. I hope they change the combat system from XV's mindless slash and dash.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | May 10, 2019 12:16 AM |
I don't know, the snippets of gameplay make it look like pretty much exactly that.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | May 10, 2019 12:22 AM |
I think simplistic hack and slash is fine for FFVII, after all it's a classic. People want to feel like this game is timeless.

Really miss the classic turn based Final Fantasy gameplay
by Anonymous | reply 426 | May 10, 2019 2:19 AM |
I read that they are making the battle system "live action" as opposed to turn based (which I was fine with).

Arlo, the tall ginger head of the town guard, is such a knight in shining armor. He's been rescuing me from all kinds of situations and inviting me to patrol and spar with him. I've been crushing on him hard.

SPOILERS (?): Surprisingly, they put a "gay option" in the most recent episode of Life is Strange 2. I believe there was some worry or whatever that since the game's protag is stereotypical looking/acting straight dude that there wouldn't be in LGBT content in it, unlike the first two games that were full of lez stuff. Just thought that was neat but I do wonder if it was planned from the start or if they added it because of said "backlash"? (The cynic in me says it's the latter.)

Bought a few PS4 games during the recent sale. Can't decide which to play next: Persona 5 or Final Fantasy XV.
by Anonymous | reply 434 | May 18, 2019 12:01 AM |
R434, I loved Final Fantasy XV. It's totally a messy game but it's epic in so many ways. Be prepared that once you reach certain part of the game you cannot go back any more. So no more casual driving with the boys. Enjoy that part while it lasts. BTW, XV is one of the very few games that have made me cry in the end. I had a really good cry when the credits rolled. I'm a man over 40 and I rarely cry so it's not like I'm always sniffling.
I bought Persona 5 as well and I loved the opening but I haven't had time to play it that much yet. And I don't feel comfortable with the gameplay so far from what I've seen. Still, it's been getting rave reviews so I guess I'll just have to stick with it and things will get better.
by Anonymous | reply 435 | May 19, 2019 3:51 PM |
Playing RAGE 2.

I LOVE Persona 5. I've gotten most of my gaymer friends to play. There is a LONG opening before you are given total freedom so it can take a while to get into it. The best written story I've encountered in years though.
Also Ryuji is the love of my life <3

I like ResetEra as well. Not a gay space but inclusive and well-moderated. Lots of older and more mature gamers who know their gaming and media history. And very active.

I have been playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey for MONTHS. It's a great game but I liked the overall mood of AC Origins in Egypt a lot more. I feel like there are endless side quests in this game which is great. I really hate the ship battles though.
Oh, and for the people berating us, I'm a 50 year old lesbian who absolutely loves the escapism that gaming gives me. I have to use my brain to solve shit, think ahead of what I'm going to do, and it's hella fun. I'm glad I'm not a "sit in front of the tv and passively watch netflix series" kind of person. How boring is that shit?

The base version of Sims 4 is free on Origin until the 28th.
by Anonymous | reply 446 | May 23, 2019 3:33 PM |
I hate Origin with a burning passion. Still thats a great deal
by Anonymous | reply 447 | May 23, 2019 4:15 PM |
I used to LOVE all the AC games - so immersive and really creative in the different story quests. But they started to become too similar and dropped most of the current time/abstergo elements. There were tons of things to do but it felt like a slog (still trying to play through AC: Syndicate and not really motivated to finish). My favorite ones were AC 2 (so much fun, great music, Italian setting so beautiful) and AC: Black Flag - different enough to be really exciting, though the sea battles took getting used to.
I actually bought AC Oddyssey and AC Origins. Are they an improvement or am I going to be disappointed again?
by Anonymous | reply 448 | May 23, 2019 7:52 PM |
Origins and Odyssey are quite different from the other AC games. There are more RPG elements and more of a focus on personal stories as opposed to the overriding story about the assassin-templar conflict. The combat, assassination and parkour systems are completely overhauled. Odyssey is also the first AC game in which you can roleplay as a gay character and have gay romances (leaving aside bisexual Jacob's weird relationship with that gang leader in Syndicate). The graphics are incredibly crisp and vivid. Odyssey is to me the most beautiful video game ever visually; I constantly stop to just stare at the monumental architecture, lush Greek islands and clear blue Aegean.
by Anonymous | reply 449 | May 23, 2019 10:16 PM |
Oh, and I actually really like Unity as well. Most of its game systems are solid and the French Revolution is an ideal setting. I think Arno is a wet blanket who was written too simplistically around Elise, but I still find him sizzlingly hot and I really like the homoerotic vibe between him and Napoleon. And the Cafe Theatre is my favourite home base of possibly any game I've played.

Currently the free game is Rime, and the previous ones include The Witness, Super Meat Boy, Transistor and What Remains of Edith Finch. No idea for how long they'll be running the free game promo but I assume at least for a few months until they feel like their new store has enough users.

by Anonymous | reply 456 | June 1, 2019 5:42 AM |
How are the Rage 2 environments? A lot of underground cave stuff like the first game? Or is it all just riding around in vehicles in the desert shooting stuff?
by Anonymous | reply 457 | June 2, 2019 5:34 AM |
It's almost nothing like the first game, R457. After the very annoying first 'training/story' bit, it's wide-open world. There are dune seas, majestic canyons, tree-filled swamps, and more. And yeah, there are underground tunnels too, as well as high tech building interiors, … there's a variety, is what I'm saying.
It's mostly going into various bandit camps and just killing the shit out of the bandits to reclaim the location. There's a lot of collecting, and upgrading, and finding "Arcs" to gain new weapons and powers. And the powers are kick ass. You spend much of the game pretty over-powered, just blasting the shit out of things, and exploring to find locations and take out sentries and mutants and bad guys.
There's a story but whatever. Hardly matters.

I'm currently playing Days Gone with the handsome Sam Witwer as the lead and Rage 2. I had to change the settings on Rage 2 because either I'm getting old or developing a tumor because I was getting nausea playing it. I really like Days Gone--not quite tired of the dystopian, zombie timelines but I wish there was a better choice of weapons. It also took some time to get used to the way storylines and missions are set up.
UGH, sorry R468. So embarrassing--but I was hot as fish grease over that comment--and I guess my browser was loading at a snail's pace. I wish we had an edit feature. Even more than I wish for peace on Earth.

I also am playing Days Gone, when I get time and I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. It so far is not so challenging and I like that it has some RPG aspects with leveling up. What I am really looking forward to is Bloodstained that is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Konamis Symphony Of The Night which I have been playing on and off for the last 20 years and in my opinion still stands up beautifully. I saw the trailer for Bloodstained and it is gorgeous. My other game that I am lusting after is Death Stranding which finally got a release date for this November and has a really great cast.
by Anonymous | reply 476 | June 6, 2019 2:29 PM |
I'm not a fan of Kojima's Metal Gear Solids and I assume Death Stranding will have the same kind of super nihilistic atmosphere. Judging by the trailers Death Stranding doesn't look that interesting although hopefully it will have a decent storyline. If it doesn't the game seems terrible.

Remaster. So you can actually see what you're looking at. The character models aren't just block-y and basically looking like what would happen if you built a Final Fantasy character in Minecraft.
I'm an odd duck, so FFVIII is by a wide margin my favorite in the series, and seeing it again with a fresh coat of paint is a pretty good time.

[quote]The poster boy for Cyberpunk is pretty cute. Will be fun playing a gay character.
He was better looking last year. Now he suddenly looks very Polish. Are they using some well-known Polish actor for the face capturing?
by Anonymous | reply 519 | June 15, 2019 10:45 AM |
R519, I'm not sure, but what does "very Polish" look like? I'm not familiar enough with the country/people.
by Anonymous | reply 520 | June 16, 2019 10:02 PM |
R520, the original Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist looked more like a hunky model, this one looks more like an actor. CD Projekt Red is a Polish company and since the new protagonist has more of a Central European face I assume he's possibly a Polish actor.

I'm playing through all the borderlands games again in preparation for Borderlands 3 this fall.
by Anonymous | reply 522 | June 17, 2019 5:39 AM |
So every time I try to play Borderlands, I die very quickly and run out of ammo. Is it true that you need to play co-op to finish these games?
by Anonymous | reply 523 | June 18, 2019 12:13 AM |
No, I've played Borderlands (all of them) solo, all the way through, multiple times each.
There's TONS of ammo lying around, just go get it. Every box and pile has ammo. Are you rummaging through and finding all that stuff? Look for green lights to guide you to wherever stuff is. And keep upgrading your guns, searching cases and boxes and checking dropped weapons to find things better than what you currently have, and swap them out.
The games are really fun, really funny, and honestly not THAT challenging.

by Anonymous | reply 525 | June 23, 2019 12:24 AM |
Just finished all of Borderlands One again (Game of the Year addition for Xbox One X 4k/hdr, including all 4 DLCs). That was fun. I first finished it nine years ago.
I'm playing the new DLC for Borderlands 2 that serves as a bridge to Borderland 3 tomorrow with friends.
And we'll all be playing Borderlands 3 come this September.
SO EXCITED!

Question about Pokemon Go: I tried to solo a tier 3 raid yesterday against Tangela but I didn't make it. I swear I would have taken it out if I had 5 more seconds, sigh. Has anyone else managed to solo Tangela in a raid? I'd love some tips on how to take it down.

Shadowbringers release in FFXIV is imminent. I haven't purchased it yet, and I won't until gender equality for all races and a new healer are confirmed to be coming, with concrete dates. Makes me sad because I've been a loyal player for many years and have stuck with SE through all their bullshit, in FFXIV and elsewhere. They're probably the worst-managed major company in all of gaming, yet I thought at least Yoshida's team got it. To be slapped in the face by genderlocks in 2019 and no new healer for six years stings. They say they need to balance healers as if they haven't had four fucking years to do that since AST was released.
Sorry, thought I'd rant into the silence of this thread.

R533 It hasn't changed much, but it's a good time to get back into it. Two new special research quests this summer. Also, gen 5 is being released soon, so there will be lots of new Pokemon to catch and evolve. Just remember to play on Community Day and do the global challenge in August. Oh, and I almost forgot; there's a new appraisal system, finally! You don't really need to use Calcy IV anymore.

by Anonymous | reply 541 | July 26, 2019 11:48 PM |
R541 It's pretty interesting actually. All my friends who I would call gamers (they play videos games multiple times a week) all own switches. Down to a man. None of my friends who play videogames more casually and irregularly own a switch.
I think if your the type of person who will buy more than one console per generation, the current best setup is PS4/Xbox1 and Switch. If you would only ever pick one console per gen, no one picks the switch for that.
I LOVE my switch.
by Anonymous | reply 542 | July 26, 2019 11:54 PM |
I don't know what I would play on a switch other than Fire Emblem and Zelda. Everything I enjoy ends up on a Sony console.
by Anonymous | reply 543 | July 26, 2019 11:57 PM |
If you're an RPG fanatic, nothing will ever beat Sony. They know their audience and ALWAYS nail down the most important RPG exclusives they can. I'm like you and have been playing RPGs continuously since the trial version of Legend of the Dragoon on PS1 (Amazing game at the time, aged HORRIBLY)
But Breath of the wild is one of the greatest games ever made, and I don't think that's exaggeration. I also love Smash and Splatoon. And there are some great RPG remasters for the switch from the PS3 era. Much improved versions of games like Dragon Quest or Tales of Vesperia. It's good for picking up some games I missed from last gen

3D Dot Game Heroes, if you want something like A Link to the Past.
by Anonymous | reply 549 | July 27, 2019 2:29 AM |
R548 I lost like 5 times in a row with several Pokemon above 3500 CP. I ended up with 15 fainted pokemon. The idea is nice, but if Team Rocket shows up again I hope they make some changes next time. They shouldn't be so hard to beat. It's not even worth it. The shadow pokemom you catch are supposed to be stronger, yet I got several with a terrible IV, I'm talking 0 or just 1 star appraisal. I literally used up all my revives and potions for this shit ugh. Also, if you against all odds should win against TR, chances are high the pokemon will just run away. I failed to catch a Snorlax today after beating them. Again, it's just not worth it. I finished the task and got a bit more stardust. At least that's good I guess.

You want Okami. It's EXTREMELY similar to Legend of Zelda. Just a fantasy Japanese setting instead of fantasy medieval Europe.
But same gameplay format really. You are on an epic quest, you have to raid ancient temples to get items that allow more advanced platforming

'Nother Life is Strange 2 update (SPOILERS, Maybe?): Most recent episode revealed another gay character: Jacob, the cute little former Mormon(?) boy from the homeless camp "family". Although sadly nothing else really comes from the reveal and he leaves at the end of the episode. Sucks they didn't reveal this in the previous episode so you have the chance to get with him instated of Finn, the dirty hippy IMO.

I've been playing the Resident Evil 2 remake from earlier this year this week. Leon is so beautiful that it hurts (MARY!). Plus he has a bubble butt that looks great in his police uniform. I think my favourite costume for showing off his assets is the noir outfit, though. He has a great big fat ass for a skinny Irish boy in 1998, goddamn.

by Anonymous | reply 591 | September 3, 2019 7:58 PM |
I've actually tried it, R591, but I think it's too muscular for me. I also don't like that he's completely hairless except for a dick moustache.
If I could figure it out I'd try making a nude version where his upper body matches the way it looks in his injured police costume, i.e. lithe and toned. Along with a bit of chest hair and a full bush, with an intact option.
I'd also make a version of his police uniform where he's only wearing a wifebeater on his top half, and maybe a few noir recolours with different vest, shirt, harness and trouser hues, with his original hair of course.

I HIGHLY recommend the new game Control. It's basically the Half Life 2 of this era. The only problem is that a base PS4 or XBONE will not run it properly. You have to either get a pro console or having a gaming PC. But no joke, Control is probably the best game of 2019
