Do you play any co-op games, and if so, which ones?
Gamers of DL

Not too many coop but I do like Deep Rock Galactic and Vermintide II.

Co Op games? Are they about real estate?

Sweet R2, Is online multiplayer game better for you?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | March 21, 2022 11:18 PM |
I used to play mmorpgs, in the olde days.
Also belonged to one of the first online virtual worlds (pre 2nd life).
None have induced me lately to have enough energy for them.

As if there are any gamers on Dl. The last game any DLers played was Pac-Man and that was only cos their nephew was playing it at the arcade.

I kind of want to play the new Harry Potter game…

WoW Classic

R6, that game looks awesome, and I'm not even big into Harry Potter.
I'm probably going to buy Horizon: Forbidden West. I loved Zero Dawn.

I've never played one, but I'd like to try I'd want to play on a gay server or with a gay group because I don't want to be called faggot by a bunch of obnoxious neckbeards.

Horizon : Forbidden West is good; I feel like first one was more enjoyable though. Better battle system.
Co-op wise, nothing. Online gaming culture is dickless homophobe central. No thanks.

R8. I'm into Harry Potter but I actually thought the game looked pretty generic RPG fare. It's got all the elements: generic story about "ancient magic", crafting, possible good/evil choices, companions, some sort of design-able home base (Room of Requirement), pseudo-open world with shops, loot etc.
And why is the PC starting as a 5th year?! That's ridiculous.
I'm hoping the attending class is kind of interesting and full of interactions. The combat does look interesting I will say.

I'd like to play Elden Ring in co-op, but the joining system is shit.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 22, 2022 2:33 AM |
R9, how is anyone going to know what you are if you don't tell them?
That said, R10 is correct. Online gaming culture can charitably be described as Bro-centric.

I love Final Fantasy 7 Remake! The graphics are amazing (and the male characters are hot too).

The last co-op I played was Diablo III, which I did not like at all. It was a fluke. I would love to play some online RTS games but there aren't any good ones right now as far as I know. There's Age of Empires IV but it looks so shitty.

It's too bad we can't create a DL gaming group. Lol
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 22, 2022 5:02 AM |
We could actually do that
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 22, 2022 1:54 PM |
Did any of you finish Elden Ring? Or are you elder gays too old to have the reflex to play such game?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 22, 2022 3:51 PM |
Really R17, Wouldn't that require at least a little less anonymity with our fellow DLers?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 22, 2022 5:00 PM |
R19, not quite. Choose the game, server and time and all include an identifier in your character name somewhere.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 22, 2022 9:13 PM |
What game would you recommend R20?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 22, 2022 9:36 PM |
I would let others make that choice, R20.
Just something involving relatively low startup costs, so if someone doesn't enjoy they won't have wasted too much just to try it.

R18. I am planning to play Elden Ring though my reflexes are pretty poor. I'll just wait till it has dropped in price a bit.
And once I work myself up psychologically to be able to do so. I enjoyed DS3 but Bloodborne made me want to smash my computer.

Someone I know that primarily sticks with EVE online style games said he enjoyed Guild Wars 2 for awhile.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 23, 2022 12:35 AM |
Forbidden West has a great combat system. The puzzles and dungeons are sort of annoying though.

R22, A lot of the gay streamers on Twitch play Dead By Daylight, a 4 vs 1 survival game where one player plays the killer that the other four players are trying to escape from, it's on Steam for ten dollars.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 23, 2022 6:36 AM |
If someone wanted to try a non-combat option, I am wondering about a social intrigue game I just saw on Steam.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 24, 2022 9:42 PM |
There are a few co-op games on Steam, Outward, Fallout 76, and Rust that are open-world RPG-type games, and there are also cartoony games like Among Us, and Core Keeper.

I'd like to recommend a game called "Pentiment" to DLers which is really more of an interactive narrative than a game (you don't need to have any skill or experience with gaming). It's a highly accurate (the developers worked closely with a team of historians) and well researched bit of historical fiction - a murder mystery in the Holy Roman Empire set at the beginning of the Protestant reformation. There are a lot more games these days that are made to appeal to people who aren't gamers. The team that made Pentiment, Obsidian Studios, built their reputation since the 90s on quality writing that is very literate rather than coming from comic/b-film stock. It isn't a co-op game but I thought it would be better to bump an existing thread about games than to make a thread just for a recommendation that at most two or three other posters would even take a look at.
