How fabulous to see all these matches on the outter courts. I was just thinking today about how great it is to be a tennis fan in the modern era. In the olden days tennis matches were shown on delay, even finals. You knew who won after the first set because the match was only scheduled for an hour and a half. Before tennis TV, you barely saw anything other than GS. Even if it was scheduled it often got pre-emted by HS Football or something. It used to be hard to even find results during the week because many papers only published tennis scores on Sunday. Crazy??

Not to mention the mystery of weather before we could all follow along with Doppler radar.

Tennis is a business and I've always said that the draw favors the tournament. Before Hawkeye, the favorite players always seemed to get the close calls, especially in the early rounds. Kind of like Brazil can't lose the World Cup until the finals. It's just not good for business. Interestingly, Federer and Nadal were the 2 male players who were not in favor of instant replay.
