A gay man is missing in Dallas after early workout before work.
He could have been a datalounger, now missing.

I meant what I said above, I’m surprised they’re looking for him at all. Now that they found the car, the police will lose interest in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

He drove a Porsche SUV that's really an Audi---that and the separate gyms are probably all we need to know about him. Pretense and marriage on the rocks, with momma in Florida. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a runaway spouse who'd been stashing money in offshore accounts. If he's been carjacked, where would it have happened? He probably stopped at corners with Donna Summer on the stereo and the windows up, oblivious to his surroundings, so I rather doubt it, unless he stopped off at Circle K to get some guilty pleasure donuts and they got him there.

by Anonymous | reply 114 | November 24, 2020 11:51 PM |
“I got home at 6:15. He wasn’t home, so I didn’t think much about it; 6:30 rolls around, I start to get a little worried; 6:45 rolls around, and I start to get a little panicky because I knew he had a 7 o’clock conference call that he had to be home for. When he wasn’t here at 7, I started to go look,” Jenkins said.
Does the quote from the husband at R58 not seem a bit off? Maybe their routines were so regular that not being back from the gym in 1.5 hours or 2.75 hours would cause panic. Maybe the husband remembered the exact time of the other's conference call with certainty (I would remember that he mentioned the call, but I doubt I would recall with certainty that it was 7 or 7.30 or was it 6.30 or 8.00 or 8.30, no.more than I would necessarily remember names of his work colleagues with whom he was meeting - not my business, not my details to remember except in round terms. Maybe he thought it would be completely out of character that he or someone else might have cancelled the call. My life certainly isn't that structured that I would assume the worst straight away if my husband came home 30 or 45 minutes late -- and start driving around looking for him. It wouldn't go unnoticed but it wouldn't ring a real alarm bell for a couple hours.
It just seems that either they run a extremely tight ship or that the husband got very suspicious suspiciously soon in the timeline.

Money could be a motive, especially if the missing one named hubby in his will.
Hubby could have hired someone, and that person is often, but not always, caught.

from Reddit........
The case is bizarre. Something doesn’t add up. If I was assigned to this case, these are the questions I’d be asking:
Alan and his partner Rusty Jenkins have a beautiful home. Is the home equipped with security cameras?
When did Rusty Jenkins return home from the gym on the morning of Oct. 22?
When did Rusty Jenkins leave the gym on the morning of Oct. 22?
Rusty Jenkins says he called several hospitals around 7AM in search of Alan on the morning of Oct. 22, while driving around looking for Alan. How many of these calls have been verified?
Which cell towers show pings from Rusty Jenkins’ and Alan White’s cell phones on the morning of Oct. 22?
What apps did Alan have downloaded on his iPhone?
What other numbers show text message and call log activity with Alan White’s cell phone in the 24 hours prior to the time in which he went missing?

I couldn't find any social media for Rusty Jenkins, except for a Linkedin--he sells business furniture. probably not as rich as the missing husband.
I did find out that Alan is from WV (his mother lives in Bumbfuck WV and somewhere in Florida) and his brother died a couple years ago. The brother (a bit older) was an engineer and they must have been ok enough with Alan, because Rusty was named in parentheses with the other spouses. OTOH, they're Baptists. and the brother looked fat and inbred.
So---maybe a late midlife crisis, seeing brother boy die and splitting for Puerto Vallarta or bum for a husband who needs more money.

Lof of nerve asking for funds.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | November 26, 2020 4:18 AM |
There is a reward for information fund of $20,000.
The (currently) $17,200 at R201 is an "expense fund for Alan White's family" for private detective services, travel funds, etc.
Had they had all of their money in a joint pot, however, I wonder if a Go-Fund-Me to pay for the relatives' travel expenses and private detective services would be so critical at the level of a $25,000 goal. It makes me think that they did not or the husband would have loosened up some coins at least for appearances sake.
R197 the West Virginia family element is interesting. People who work hard to get away from West Virginia, who are managing directors at KPMG (salary roughly $170-470k), who start their days with 4.45AM hauls to the gym and 7.00AM conference calls, and flipping a series of six(?) houses on the side don't lack for discipline. And coming from West Virginia, they probably don't lack for relatives who want more - the whole state is full of people who feel they are owed more than they have, and resent other people having anything (and not least for leaving their hometowns to find it.)
All those things, though, don't add up in my mind to slipping away to Mexico or wherever. Surely he would make out better in a divorce in settling things on his husband than on loosing two houses and any joint funds. Even if he had squirrelled some money away, even if he had been doing that for years, even if he had meticulously kept Mine and Yours financial accounts with the husband (which is very Data Lounge, by the way.). And the timing of the last flip is curious: their current house sold in April (I assume that's the settlement date so the plans likely pre-date any serious concern for Covid in Dallas), but would you have the energy for selling and buying and renovation and flipping (never mind in the midst of a plague) to keep up appearances? Now THAT would be discipline. If if the two houses were intended as "lovely parting gifts" for a disappearance, who would carry it that far.
I don't know what is involved in keeping financial accounts in the U.S. for a disappeared person. Obviously there are foreign banking and cash transfer reporting regulations, but to stage a possible abduction or violent crime seems a risky detail if you just want to disappear from a husband. Surely it's better to propose an agreement and "lose" some money upfront rather than to tie up U.S. assets in a possible crime investigation and to walk away from a solid income (that could go a long way to recoup money lost in a split with a husband.) I just don't see a person that methodical about money walking away from a large chunk of it when he could settle financially and could out ahead by one means or another.
A disappearance only fits if he were in serious trouble that we don't know about, something big: a job or finances about to collapse. Were it a planned disappearance, why not just pack a bag or two (not a Coach sling bag) and leave the car in the driveway or at the airport? A mystery instead of the aura of a crime. The hint of violence might throw an investigation off but surely the truth of this will come out and soon enough; money leaves traces as a KPMG exec is aware.
I don't buy the idea that a 55-year-old man who spent his life doing things right, to accumulate some wealth and career would throw everything up in the air to risk losing much of that so that he could go drink on a beach and go to circuit parties full time (though stranger things have happened.) A person from West Virginia who appears to have taken a disciplined path to getting away from that would have taken a disciplined path to divorcing his husband and moving away in a planned way and to retaining his options, not sacrificing them.
by Anonymous | reply 205 | November 26, 2020 9:24 AM |
People always suggest the missing person just ran away, but they almost never, ever do.
This is a frustrating case though because the car was found and we don't know what was found in the car, and it was weeks after it was found before the cops called Alan "endangered," which implies nothing much was found there.
That also implies his credit cards weren't being used because if they had, police would have realized they were stolen and listed him as endangered sooner.
Who could have done this, then? A random psycho maybe, or someone who wanted Alan dead but didn't need his car or credit cards or money or watch. That could be a beneficiary of the life insurance, but it could also be someone he worked with or had done business with, if Alan's death would have benefited them in some way.
Or, and this has to be mentioned, the cops are fuckwits and found evidence in the car of a violent crime but still decided he wasn't really endangered.

by Anonymous | reply 208 | November 26, 2020 11:41 AM |
R205: Too much snobbishness. White's brother was an engineer and had a business with another brother. The dead guy went to a state tech school of low distinction, rather than Carnegie, Case, or even Ohio State or Cincinnati (all very good engineering schools nearby). I think he had plenty of self-discipline and ditto his brother. The difference between White and his brothers is probably that he was gay, had a gym membership and an accounting degree---the rest of the family stayed in WV, worked hard (and possibly through school) and prospered. Alan might have been the prodigal gay son who left but was taken back into the fold. If you've ever driven through Monongahela National Forest or other natural areas, you'd see why everyone doesn't leave WV. Mommy lives part time in Florida---she may have married well once or twice given her last name. Despite the recent burial expenses in WV and lack of evidence that the WV relatives were destitute, there's no reason for gofundme, or is there? Is the partner broke, was Alan broke?
The main point from R205 is that he has a well paying career. He's dumb enough to buy a Porsche that's really a tarted up Audi and he and the husband bought and remodeled a house that was likely to have been an expensive task even for a well-paid glorified accountant, so he may rather spendy and status conscious (the ugly, but somewhat trendy and probably pure bred dog is the cherry on the sundae). OTOH, as a well paid glorified accountant, he probably does know how to stash money and may have been doing it for years, so I wouldn't rule out a disappearance. OTOH, spouses are probably the most likely suspects in a potential crime like this and if they'd been having money troubles (buying a pretentious, overpriced car, buying/redo-ing an expensive house).
by Anonymous | reply 209 | November 26, 2020 1:00 PM |
It had to be someone who benefited by his death. The car wasn’t sold for parts. His credit cards weren’t used that we know of. He’s too old to be kidnapped as a sex slave. He had too much to lose by disappearing and could have just divorced his husband if he wanted out. He hasn’t embezzled millions to a foreign account that we know of. Could be business related, personal or a psycho killer who did it for pleasure but someone got something out of it.

by Anonymous | reply 217 | November 26, 2020 1:44 PM |
R209, if I'm snobbish it evidently takes one to know one. I have driven through Monongahela and other national forests in West Virginia (I've even lived adjacent to one) and the state certainly has great natural beauty. Stop at at a store at some crossroads off the highway and you'll see what else West Virginia has, or rather doesn't have: great human resources or great opportunity to match the abundance of geographical beauty.
Jean Kennedy Smith as ambassador to Ireland had many good things to say about the country, but she dismayed of a national disease of "begrudgement." Surely she didn't spent any time in West Virginia or she might have held her tongue about Ireland because it doesn't rise to a close second.
I agree, though, that aside from the question I raised of the jointness of the couples' finances, the question of flushness of finances is an interesting - and maybe important - one. People get in all sorts of money trouble that isn't evident on the surface, from a distance. It's rarer to find quiet good taste in a 55 year old gay man with a bit of money than it is to find one who favors flashy cars, dog breeds of the.moment, a taste for MCM house flipping...
R207. I'm already married, but thanks all the same. I'm an amateur at best at sleuthing.

Maybe r 210 has me on ignore and didn't know I'd replied, but it sounds like he just paraphrased what I said at R206. Weird.
Anyway, I think we all agree that the car being found without having been sold or parted out is the big clue that the disappearance isn't about robbery.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | November 26, 2020 1:56 PM |
I think it’s safe to assume he is not off sipping mimosas on a beach somewhere.
What sticks out to me is the lack of contact with his mother, especially during the holidays.
He left his beloved dog behind, a true pet lover would not do this willingly.
The lack of financial transactions can’t be a good sign, if he had cash only we would have had a sighting of him since you need to do this in person.
Could be the husband or maybe a hookup gone wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 220 | November 26, 2020 2:02 PM |
R219: You're a gasbag, but I have better things to do than put you on ignore. I stripped down, rather than paraphrased your argument, eliminated the snobbishness and noted the family prosperity--it's basically the gay card and the gym membership that separate him from the gay brother. So you're one of those people who left and think you're hot shit doesn't make you an expert. For all we know everyone, including the husband and White are spendthrifts, hence the gofundme.

They hardly should be the kind of people who actually need a go fund me ,so maybe the missing husband had all the money tucked away and no one else has access to it . If it were a car jacking that car would have long been parted out,and if it were a robbery there would have been some sort of activity on his accounts. To many details are missing to make any sort of educated guesses. Was his gym bag in the car? His wallet ? Car keys ? I guess we'll have to wait but I can tell you this much..the poster upthread who said the cops dont care as much because they are gay is exactly right. by Anonymous | reply 240 | November 26, 2020 4:30 PM |
Seems like a robbery. Probably targeted for his car. I know someone who was followed home from a bank because he was driving an expensive car. Three guys invaded his house and tied them all up. Scared the shit out of his family, his teen daughter was caught alone upstairs and he had to imagine what they were doing to her. He bought a Toyota after that.
by Anonymous | reply 241 | November 26, 2020 4:33 PM |
The easiest path here is to follow the money or lack thereof.
Rusty is a business furniture salesman---probably not many sales this year. Probably a declining market before COVID as businesses consolidate space, unless WeWork was a client. Being functionally out of work probably he allowed him to supervise the renovation, but otherwise, he's not been pulling his weight.
The couple has lots of cash flow issues: the Porsche--whether it's a lease or a purchase, it's a big monthly payment; the new house--even if they didn't have to pay much, the renovation was probably hefty--it was a one owner mid-mod, it probably needed lots of updates/new systems. If not, they might have wanted their own stamp on it. Renovations need cashflow or home equity loans or both, since they usually go over budget. They have the place in P'town--may be that's where they're getting the money--from a sale or equity loan. It probably makes more sense to keep it an borrow against it, but that means more payments and this year was probably a mixed bag--people vacationing close to home, but still not traveling like a normal year. Consider the possibility that even if the place broke even on expenses (first mortgage, realtor fees to rent it, utilities, etc.) they're probably in the whole for borrowing against it or some other asset. These two probably have 401ks, etc. but we're still talking a lot of debt and and sources of money that need to be repaid.
Now we have Alan who makes $147K and is the only functional breadwinner. Dallas is cheaper than DC, LA, SF, etc. but it's not that cheap, esp. if they're the kind of status seeking sunbelt queens we've heard about on other threads. But they're carrying a lot more debt than they should on that income. Look at Rusty--the job/financial prospects for a 50-something business furniture salesman aren't great. If Alan isn't an equity partner, his prospects aren't great either. Could Rusty (who has no money and time on his hands do it): Probably Yes. Could Alan with or without Rusty done something scammy with a disappearance that had been planned and quietly executed (which would explain why a car that could easily be turned to parts or perhaps resold after a few "renovations to someone else turns up without a scratch).
They might have simply been the kind of financially underwater couple I encountered in Atlanta (a place that seems to attract Dallas gays and vice versa) in which one of them is an innocent victim of foul play, but I think the money issues have to be resolved, esp. if Rusty is the one with the gofundme. He's functionally if not in fact unemployed (I wonder if his Linkedin employer is still employing him)but with all these expenses around him.

He went to pick up some quick drugs to calm himself before a stressful conference call, parked his car and walked to the pick-up spot -- either took the drugs right there and overdosed or was randomly killed on the spot by another druggie. Police should be scouring all the buildings right by where his car was parked.

Some years back a decomposing body was found in a forest preserve near where I lived at the time. The guy had disappeared from his wife and kid more than 10 years prior. Maybe the black widow hubby was seeing a man on the side who resembled Alan from a distance.
Together they killed him in the night, disposed of the body, then the semi lookalike went to the gym and gas station the next day... finally scampering off to abandon the car?
This is what I think happened.
by Anonymous | reply 432 | December 4, 2020 10:09 AM |
I wonder if the husband's bit but on the side was a make-up artist and they fashioned a latex mask?
That would explain 'Alan's' questionable fashion sense in wearing double red items.

He is in a box in a basement as a “Gimp” and hang on in (literally) for another 4 years.
by Anonymous | reply 434 | December 4, 2020 10:35 AM |
The husband did it. He said he started to freak out after he didn’t get home for a meeting at 7 a.m.
If someone if missing for a few hours, even for an important meeting, I wouldn’t start calling hospitals.
The pandemic is the perfect time for this. No one outside means no witnesses, no one to see you dispose the body, and police already stretched thin.
by Anonymous | reply 435 | December 4, 2020 10:37 AM |
R433 I wonder if the husband's bit but on the side was a make-up artist, and they fashioned a latex mask?
And they could easily have ordered all the materials off the Internet. No witnesses. This is what makes the Internet so dangerous!
The police need to search the house for a new package of plastic drinking straws that has just 2 missing. (Or 1 that was cut in half.) (Either/Or)
by Anonymous | reply 436 | December 4, 2020 11:10 AM |
R436, the internet leaves a trail. This is how you get them. You have to assemble the ingredients for latex masks over years, preferably from estate sales without a security camera nearby.
by Anonymous | reply 437 | December 4, 2020 11:17 AM |
Yes, you’re right; the International Electronic Information Highway can leave clues.
It IS wise to assemble all the materials bit by bit over the years while the relationship is still good, because you may need them later.
The husband is obviously smarter than he looks and knew this... mark my words.
Does the home have a Craft Room? Start there.
by Anonymous | reply 438 | December 4, 2020 11:30 AM |
Hubby is in the business furniture sales business. He has plenty of time on his hands for coming up with "the perfect crime". I wonder if he's even employed. Money is likely to be a motive here, no matter who did it. We don't know if anyone used his ATM card, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 439 | December 4, 2020 11:57 AM |
Furniture sales? So he'll have hung around assembly areas talking to craftsmen to garner the skills necessary to create a mask.
He looks like he has no fashion sense, so that would account for doubling up on the red ensemble.
by Anonymous | reply 440 | December 4, 2020 12:29 PM |
This thread is turning into a classic.
The pandemic really is kind of the perfect time to murder someone. How many episodes of “48 Hours” have you seen that start off with someone not showing up to work? Not a problem when everyone is working from home and no one ra anyone else ever.
The husband way overplayed his hand by acting all frau-ish about the missing man being not even that late to a work conference call. No one starts to call hospitals when someone is an hour late. That is fucking ridiculous and a huge red flag.
I would love to see a Chris Watts-style walk-through video with the husband that includes the Craft Room.

Alan was last seen at the gas station only approx a mile from his home. You'd think the husband would have orchestrated a car jacking farther from home but its possible conditions were better near home.
Or it may be the husband called him and asked Alan to run an errand for him while Alan was driving home from the gym and Alan was set up.
Or Alan had a last minute tragic Grindr hook up.
Or Alan may have decided to score drugs without telling his husband and he was killed for some reason.
Or Alan did drugs with his dealer and had a heart attack or died for other reasons. Dealer disposed of body and dropped off car in shady area.
Is there a convenience store near the gas station where Alan was last seen? He could have stopped in to pick up something and he was accosted at his rental car when he returned
What other possibilities?

And what was the business furniture sales husband doing up and leaving for the gym at 4.45AM on a weekday during a pandemic?
I can more easily understand the accountant. Accountants can be rather driven and single-focused and disciplined, creatures of habit.
But if I were in business furniture sales at a time when the demand for office space had stalled/shrunk (even allowing for the possibility of orders related to new Covid era respacing and redesign of offices), I'd treat myself and go to the gym at 7 or 8 or even 6, but not fucking 4.45AM. What's the hurry to start the day while it's still night and your (presumably) working from home?
by Anonymous | reply 461 | December 4, 2020 6:01 PM |
Yes, [R450], the DC case was solved because there were DC locales who knew the victim.
No, that’s not how it went down. A DC DataLounger knew someone who had *hooked up* with the victim in the past through Craigslist. DataLounger made his friend go to the police and the information the friend had (emails exchanged with the victim and, specifically, email addresses) helped track down the real killer, a dyke and her side-piece accomplice.

Dallas has seen a big crime surge lately, so he could have been a victim of it.
A few months ago, a Dallas woman was shot and killed in her driveway in a nice neighborhood. They were after her car. Those criminals were caught, but there are many more out there. Lots of people in Dallas carry guns, and it can lead to people getting shot instead of just robbed.
I wonder if Alan was carrying a gun and was shot while he tried to protect himself. Most of the criminals just want your car, so pulling a gun out for protection can have the opposite effect.
by Anonymous | reply 465 | December 4, 2020 6:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 467 | December 4, 2020 6:46 PM |
That is just not true, R467. I was the DataLounger who was friends with the guy who had previously hooked up with David Messerschmidt and had kept all his communication with him (Craigslist emails).. The information he provided to the MPD led to them being able to track Jamyra Gallmon down as the killer, specifically the dummy email addresses that were used. The detective he was working with told him that they would not have been able to solve the case without him coming forward (which I urged him to do).
Why are you lying?

The R True Crime thread has more info. For instance this was not Alan's regular gas station. He had to have veered off his normal drive home from the gym to go to this station which is in a shader part of the area
There's much speculation that this was a set up. A hit. Partly because Alan was in the gym only about 30 mins when he normally worked out longer. Somebody may have called him in the gym and directed him to his demise
by Anonymous | reply 486 | December 5, 2020 12:16 AM |
I dunno about a hit, unless it was from the husband. I mean, he was an executive CIO coach at KPMG, so honestly he just mostly went to meetings and gave CIOs ideas. What would the hit be for?
I read the Websleuths threads on him. Not a lot of evidence. Plus, at WS you can’t mention someone’s sexuality or wonder if it was a hookup gone wrong. The frauen all think, he’s married, he would never be hooking up. He looks nice! They don’t know that most long term gay couples are open. 🙄
by Anonymous | reply 487 | December 5, 2020 12:23 AM |
The mother could of orchestrated the hit.
She stands to inherit Alan's Karen Carpenter albums and assorted orthopedic furniture.
by Anonymous | reply 488 | December 5, 2020 12:36 AM |
The hit idea makes sense... engineered by hubby.
Rusty arranged for someone to catfish Alan via a hookup site... I can just imagine the smutty, doctored photos that were sent as bait.
Alan was directed to some out of sight spot, lured from the car... then ended up in the other guy’s trunk. (Maybe he died when the date forced his head down into an extended deepthroat position, then held it there till he choked to death? This part is uncertain.)
ANYWAY, then the date put his own car in his own garage, Alan in it. Later he drove Alan’s car to where it was found and abandoned it.
Hubby is counting the insurance money as we speak, and resisting calling the killer/associate in his glee.

What if Alan was DL's Ungrateful Niece Troll?? What if they had a disagreement over the length of the vegan-donut wall he was expected to provide? What if she asked him to make calligraphy cards that said, "Thanks in advance for your gift, but we asked for cash. Please mail the receipt to us ASAP." to put on each place setting? So many what-ifs.
Things could have gotten very heated, very quickly.
I made some delicious Chicken a la King, which she turned her nose up at. She said she's no longer eating dairy or gluten and suggested ordering some god-awful takeout from a vegan restaurant she likes.
Well, I'd just had it. I told her that I had put up with her haughty rudeness, her constantly thumbing her nose at traditional etiquette and social graces, and that if she couldn't act like a lady and graciously accept and eat the delicious lunch I'd prepared, that she was welcome to leave and not come back.
Well, that set the little strumpet off. She called me a ridiculous, backwards old queen and said she had tried being nice (news to me!) but was no longer willing to tolerate my misogyny and that's why I'm apparently no longer allowed to see her daughter unsupervised.
I called her a nasty little viper and told her to get out of my house immediately, and that she was lucky she wasn't around 50 years ago, when I could have had her put in a sanitarium. She stormed out, saying she hoped I choke on my "bland nursing home slop."
I cried for an hour, then called her mother (my sister), who didn't pick up the phone.
It's as if no one remembers our wonderful parents and our upbringing. Worst of all, I'm no longer allowed to be a moderating influence on my grandniece who, at 13, is wearing tampons and will probably grow up to be a whore, since no respectable man will want a wife who's been ruining herself with tampons since she was 12.

Two people here have apparent motive...hubby (no income--probably hasn't sold an office chair since February) and Alan himself (the couple having a lot of potential cashflow problem), although I'm less sure about Alan. The insurance money is probably less lucrative than sole ownership of liquid assets. Sale of the Ptown place could keep Rusty in comfort for many years and Alan probably has a very nice 401k.
The idea that ruffians would take out Alan after buying gas at some ungodly early hour of the morning is just farfetched and sounds like some racist suburbanite's pearl clutching.

The husband sounds like a dolt and hopefully will be caught soon. Can't he figure out how to transition office furniture sales during Covid like everyone else? Wayfair even did it. Home furniture IS office furniture! Duh, Rusty! He's no A-Gay. Poor Alan. RIP.

I can't blame Alan for wanting to get the fuck out of Texas.

Everyone has his own definition of A-gay, but these seem "A-gays" fit is the definition is broadly "outwardly prosperous gays."
From social media and a Google search, these two don't make a dent in the local media until one went missing. No 7000 intimate friends, no endless selfies of personal challenges met and the brave undertakings of new gym goals and fantastic new diets and jetting around to circuit parties. It's less a social whirl that an update on the latest house flip with a few polite responses from people who seem at a polite distance in there connection - realtors, contractors, etc. No mention of charity events, no hosting of a preview dinner to launch the MCM preservation group annual house tour, not a lot of evident connection with things.
The separate gyms suggests that that may have been an outlet for separate hookups. A flashy car, a nice house (always looking for the next flip!), and a vacation place in Provincetown and up at 4.45am every morning and out the door to the gym. I'm guessing there were more hookups than friends - guessing, obviously.
Suspicion looks wisely in the direction of the husband, but his story is too crisp and precise.
Though the odd thing is the dicking around in the parking lot after gassing up. Surely the husband is smart enough not to call the man he's about to make the victim of a hit job? Had he done, it would have been important to mention that to the police to avoid questions later ("I called to ask him to pick up a latte for me if he stopped anywhere.") In that case, the timeline suggests either a very precisely orchestrated "hit," or more likely either a quick sex stop with someone very near, or a drug deal, either of which went very wrong.
Disappearance makes no sense. Least of all for an accountant.

Police need to look in and around the Provincetown house. What no one has mentioned is that Provincetown abuts a body of water. And what goes into water? Bodies.
If the husband had any input AT ALL in acquiring this murder facilitating house, that proves intent.
And the quiet [italic]“I’m Gray, I’m Gray, Don’t Look at Me, Mr. Policeman”[/italic] color - who chose THAT? Again, hubby? How far back did he plan this thing, exactly??
It’s damning.

They must have bought the Provincetown place very recently; property records don't show a Alan White or Rusty Jenkins as owners in Provincetown, and there are no LLC owners on Holway Avenue (which is where maps show the vacation rental.)
Not that any of that means anything. Unless to sleuths.
by Anonymous | reply 521 | December 5, 2020 3:15 PM |
It is an abomination, R515. Come sit with me. Sadly you wouldn't have to spend much time looking to find worse. A simple shed roof portico would have fit the local vernacular better.
The house was purchased in summer if 2019 for $690k according to Zillow, less than the asking price. It was built in 2018.

R522
You must live up here; for a town of supposedly creative people, the majority of the new-build architecture in Provincetown is atrocious. This isn't the thread for it, but there's a great deal of 'take the money and run' crash building and selling up here. My favorite example - and I wish I could find the pic and post it - was a new build that situated the basement bulk-head door immediately next to the front door. Then there's the boring boxy condos they built on West Vine...that sell for around $1M.
Maybe in a Provincetown thread.
Two people here have apparent motive...hubby (no income--probably hasn't sold an office chair since February) and Alan himself (the couple having a lot of potential cashflow problem)
"Apparent" seems a stretch, POSSIBLE motive is the better description.
I don't recall seeing anything but speculation on money troubles (the expensive Audi disguised as a Porsche SUV, and all that.) It's safe to assume that the business furniture industry has had happier days than than these times, but for all we know maybe they were flush from all those flips and maybe the furniture guy had a bigger hand in them, maybe they had money enough that a potential work slowdown was not a tragedy, maybe he's benefited from an inheritance...maybe they are up to their joint eyeballs in debt and has heavy outgoings for drugs bought in parking lots in early morning hours, or maybe West Virginia/Florida Memaw hated the son-in-law and elaborately framed him to move closer toPalm Springs and that nice Trump fella. Any of these things is certainly possible, not of them is exactly apparent in the sense of being obvious or clearly visible or plainly understood.

She decided to ditch that drag of a husband. She’s been planning this for years , and has a bank account full of money that nobody knows about.
So she packed her dildos, thong panties and Madam Alexander dolls secretly in that loaner car.
Dropped it off in a rough part of town-she had scored some coke, Tina and viagra there last year for Pride. She dumped it, called an Uber from a burner phone, and flounced over to a waiting Toyota Camry with her duffel bag.
She had the driver take her to the long term parking lot at Love Field, where she had a cheap car stashed away. She got in and high tailed it to Mexico, where she bought a fake passport and ID. From there she flew to the Cayman Islands and got her cash.
Now she’s living in Belize or something with some underwear model she found a year ago on Grindr.
Poor Rusty.

by Anonymous | reply 576 | May 16, 2021 12:44 PM |
Unlikely. He left that gas station a bit after 6:00 in the morning his conference call was due at 7:00. Driving 22km/14 miles (and back!) to meet a hookup in a sketchy area, just as the morning rush hour is about to start, seems very unlikely. I would understand getting a quick blowjob somewhere in his neighbourhood, but driving all the way across town when you don't have that much time? Nah…
