But we are all used to see movies, TV Films and series dubbed. Most of my also well educated friends will never have the idea to watch movie/TV stuff with subtitles. The younger, under 30, may be are more used to that, cause they want to see things on Netflix/Amazon prime before it hits german non pay TV. 99 % of our free and pay TV are dubbed.

The german speaking market is huge, according to the EU statistics for 90.2 Million, german is the mother tongue. And on the other side, a lot of german actors make a lot of money from their dubbing work.

For example.: A german actor, who is well known in Germany, and who was also a Protagonist in a very acclaimed german movie and a winner of a couple of remarkable awards for that movie, earned his money for dubbing Mel Gibson in "What women want" and also did a lot of dubbing character "Paul Chekov" in the original Star Trek series (yes the one with...) and some of the following movies, prequels, sequels...

There are thousands of well known german speaking actors, who get their regular paycheck from this.

I read the original Spy Who Dumped Me screenplay several months back. McKinnon's character was written as very straight and it was implied that she fucked around. Her character is also linked to real life man who shows up towards the end in fictional form.

Even Viggo Mortensen flopped with his Hidalgo movie, which had a much better script and an interesting story to tell. And Viggo came with an worldwide audience and a huge fanbase from LOTR.

The women are carrying this film, not Sam. Its success will depend on them, and outside US they aren’t that well known. He’s not a big enough draw to carry a movie on his own shoulders. It may do much better in US than Europe, it’s a lightweight fun summer movie, hopefully will find an audience, but won’t put him on the top of the list for casting director’s. Nor I fear will Bloodshot, the market for superhero comic movies is already crowded. I can see it being a choices of sam’s, he’s into that, but a skilled team would push him towards a more serious role to show his depth, range and classical training.

I guess he's trying different things in order to find out which one will be success. Just in case everything goes to hell, he has business with Barbour, MPC and the whisky + two more seasons of OL. From his last interview is pretty clear he realizes he's nearly 40 and the future isn't that bright. I guess making as much money as he can is his goal at the moment. That's a guy who doesn't want to be poor anymore. HW is fickle - look what happened with David Caruso and his career.

In two years Sam's HW career will probably be over as well. He might become a full time businessman or return to theater, but he won't be worried about money. And in the end of the day we're talking about money.
