I lust over Jamie, in the books and on TV. He is not only physically perfect, but he is kind and funny and warm and protective and loving. For those who still had doubts about this being an orchestrated PR campaign to make Sam look 'straight'. His people wouldn't need to do all this scrubbing if he wasn't GAY......... ;)

Sadly, Sam may find that he now is the Outlander. It doesn't surprise me that Klunis etc seem to have been not all that friendly in interviews and that they pushed him as beefcake rather than as a talented co-star. HW is deadly in its competitiveness, no matter how determined he is to gain fame, and many will not welcome a newbie who is talented and handsome (although getting older) and who does have a developed fanbase (OK, it's cable tv, niche, he is increasingly sidelined for Balfe, and the Shamzies and SamCaits are extremely strange, but it is still there). At this stage he does not seem to have a HW network or a mentor (Shatner is yesterday's man and only latching on to Sam to try to stay relevant), and he will continue to be susceptible to the vile Jennifer Allen's advice to stay in the closet and worse still, to beard, although he will probably keep on with his plausible deniability semantics (hopefully if he must beard, he will upgrade, although HW can be a very lonely place and he may see the corrosive BlondieMcButtShot as at least familiar, and he doesn't have to see her that often). The next two years will be vital for him - Bloodwise is not released until February 2020, so much as we would wish it otherwise, he is likely to persist with the game-playing and denial of true self until he sees how that goes. If the spy movie underwhelms - although his part is small enough he might be able to say credibly that it wasn't his fault - AND if the Bloodshot thing encounters issues in production (and it already seems a bit of a mess); he will need a way to stay before the cameras. Nobody's going to hire him for any other major film roles till the (financial) jury returns on these two 2018 films. Neither one will be any kind of artistic success or awards bait. As to the departures of Mr.and Mrs. Moore from the OL production, I may be in the minority in this opinion, but Good Riddance! Ron Moore has always disliked Sam. Actually he is intimidated by and dislikes the Jamie Fraser character, and by extension the actor who plays him. This seems entirely due to the fact that both character and actor are at least 10 inches taller that Mr. Moore. Major Short-Man-Syndrome. As a result, Sam's role was consistently underwritten; and many of his best scenes were deleted in final edit - which Moore controls. Moore continually talked up Tobias Menzies' performances and all but ignored any praise for Sam. As to Terry Dresbach, while she is a very good costume designer, who was brought out of semi-retirement to do OL, the production over-emphasized the costumes, particularly in Season 2, to the detriment of story and writing. Word is, the entire publicity campaign in the run-up to S2 about costumes, costumes, costumes was R. Moore's effort to get his wife her longed-for Emmy, which she's never won. How ironic that her last chance to win an Emmy would come from the 1968 episode and NOT all those over-the-top French court gowns. OL needs better writing, and better wigs!!

He seems to be a real control freak and may well want to still keep hold of the strings so he can promote Balfe and Menzies (still - with guest appearance flashbacks) and put the boot into Sam, with whom he certainly does seem to have major jealousy issues. If Moore hadn't been so biased and Starz been better at its PR, Sam may well have had his longed-for nominations/ awards and recognition as the fine actor that he undoubtedly is, and he might not be so obviously needy about a HW career. Both had the beautifully sculpted bodies honed from lots of weight lifting and strict dieting. Yet, their roles in big budget Hollywood action flicks like Bloodshot hurt them. Kitsch has said the film John Carter was a fiasco. Battleship didn't help his career either. After riding high on SOA, Hunnam landed in King Arthur which got panned. And it was a really nice play to do, actually. Leon [Ockenden] was my lover in that and we’re still very good friends.
