When actors don't participate in these performative acts fans act as if nothing is happening off-line. Ben could have texted/emailed Jimmi congratulations. Ben may have discussed the Hardwick situation with his circle. Why do it online when everything you do is met by negativity because you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

In the case of Dykstra, since she has been attacked publicly/online by a large number of MRA guys, I think that calls for an equally public defense, like it or not.

But I'm more interested in his fangirls' lack of reaction in this instance. Since 2012, Tamsin has been living with another man, good for her. As for Ben, he's been in some 4 or 5 movies since then (all sucked) plus three TV works (who am I to judge). He's had Kazinsky as a housemate and he's been to many LA parties. In his 2012 interviews he sounds quite humble, shy, and describes himself as "lacking self'confidence".
