Fearing Dump as Colonel Kurtz. Let’s hope Dump meets the same ending as the movie. Previous thread below.
Hah should say featuring Dump. I was going to use Every Day is TACO Tuesday, but I feel it’s already yesterday’s news.

TACO should never be allowed to be yesterday’s news!
Great title, OP! THANK YOU!

Thanks FCI! I actually thought of that title immediately after the TACO scandal hit, and was really close to using it. But Vanity Fair (I think) had it as a headline for one of their stories a few days ago, kind of took the wind out of my sails.

I am completely thick when it comes to the US political system. Not sure where else to put this question so here goes. I recently read about a congressman changing their party affiliation. It seems doable in terms of congress but would a senator - very unlikely I know - be able to do similarly?

FCI, I am on the right thread. Looking at the title of the new thread brought to mind that Congress is overrun with Evangelical End Timers.
That Trump's Big Beautiful Pile of Shit Budget is an End Times Document.
Bilelist Johnson and the rest of the Southern Baptist Project 2025 believers know that they are tasked with creating famine (killing USAID✅) and high prices like DICTATED IN THEIR BIBLE!!! We are engaged in a Holy War to summon up Victorious Warrior Jesus.
So that's where I am coming from FCI.

Someone mentioned in a comment elsewhere, the ominous reason Trump wants that vanity parade on his birthday. It's going to cost minimum $42M, $16M will go to repair of DC roads after the tanks and military vehicles roll in. The commenter said the main reason for the parade is to assemble all of this heavy artillery in DC so when he suspends our Constitution and calls for Martial Law the military will be in place. Scary as hell yet makes total sense.
THIS IS HIS LATEST THREAT TO THOSE WHO HAVE A RIGHT TO PEACEFULLY ASSEMBLE: "President Donald Trump has issued a warning for anyone planning to protest at his birthday military parade on Saturday.
Trump told reporters, during a briefing at the White House on Tuesday, that any demonstration at the parade "will be met with very heavy force."
The president added that he hadn't heard about plans for protests at the event, but he appeared to expect some dissent on the day, adding, "these are people who hate our country."

A Little Comic Relief: 'Petty vindictiveness': Trump boots GOP senator who criticized his bill from WH picnic.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has lashed out at the White House, accusing it of “immaturity” and “petty vindictiveness” after being told he and his family could no longer attend the traditional bipartisan White House picnic, CNN reported Wednesday.
The Kentucky Republican, known for his libertarian views and tough stance on federal spending, has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump’s expansive policy proposal.
According to Paul, his entire family — including his infant grandson — had made plans to attend the event scheduled for Thursday on the White House lawn. However, he told CNN their invitation was suddenly revoked without any clear reason. The cancellation came amid mounting tensions between Paul and the Trump administration, which has openly criticized him in recent days for opposing the president’s legislative agenda.
“The level of immaturity is beyond words,” Paul said, noting that he has lost “a lot of respect” for Trump.
Earlier this month, Trump sharply criticized Paul for declining to support a bill central to his domestic agenda. This was part of a growing effort by the president to pressure fellow Republican senators to swiftly back and pass the legislation.
In two posts on his social platform Truth Social, Trump asserted that Paul lacked a clear grasp of the bill and stated: “His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him.”

More comic relief. Vance and Usha were there, too. 'Les Miserables" of all plays. He hs no insight . Has he ever been booed like this? He never threw out a first pitch at a Senators game despite being a high school player because he didn't want to be booed by a full stadium.
This is the beginning of a potentially very bad week. Rain on his parade, Pope Mass, No Kings protest, and off to the G7 conference.
