One of those old threads has a detail I'd forgotten: when she would go swimming she had a peon stand by with a plate of shrimp. Leona would squeal "Feed the fishy!" and the underling would throw a shrimp to her and she'd try to catch it in her mouth.

I remember watching that tv movie wayback and thought Suzanne Pleshette was great in it. "The guests don't want water on the lettuce, you're fired!" For some reason that stuck in my mind.

She had a mansion here in Arizona that she bought for 6 mil, then tried to sell it for 25 million. It sold for 8 mil in 2005.

My friend's late dad did some contracting work for her back in the early 90s. Apparently, she did not disappoint in terms of cunty, dismissive attitude.

I read an account of a lunch meeting they had at her hotel. Apparently, she was too much even for him and he reportedly felt bad for the way she treated waitstaff, asking her to take it easy.

He has some superficial, cursory understanding of socially acceptable behavior. I read an account from two undocumented Costa Rican women who worked at Bedminster. He was mostly in his own world, but they said he treated staff well. Occasionally, he come around and hand out $100 as tips.

I used to always stay in her hotel when I went to NYC three times a year for business from 1988 - 1995. Then I switched and stayed at the Millennial. When I was in her hotel, I ran into her a few times over one weekend at the hotel. Butter could melt into her mouth when she spoke to guests in the hotel.
