(R29) Today's episode (Monday) was so bad during the first five minutes, I turned it off. Possibly one of the worst openers to any soap I can recall. Stephanie and Everett, Paulina and Abe, Johnny and Chanel, Tripp and Wendy and Ava and Stefan promised nothingness, but the minute John started chewing the scenery with Constantine about the Pawn, I decided there were better ways to spend the next 40 minutes or so. I really didn't care about any of these pairings. Not sure if I will bother this week.

I totally agree, R33. The Pawn storyline could be interesting, but it just seemed dropped into the show with no consistent buildup.

They should've paused all the stories during the strike and run 6 months of eps of Anna and Tony drinking martinis in the Dimera living room, talking shit about the denizens of Salem.

I haven't been this cringed out since 20 years ago when Passions & every other soap had to many makeout noises.

Last Thurs. episode had a whopping 13 cast members but only 5 females. It seems like the only 4 female relationships now on the show are Maggie/Sarah, Paulina/Chanel, Steph/ Dr. Stinkface & Sloane/Melinda.

8 guys were in that show with 4 being in Lucas's room at one time - Lucas, Chad, Everett & bug-eyed Harris.

Last week = Row Your Boat song.

This week = My Fair Lady.

Next week = I've Got You Babe.

Hot Sonny and NuChee

I find my mind wandering more often than not. I also find myself wondering why Dr. Marlena Evans doesn't offer some Ozempic to Brady. For years she fit a bit too tightly in her stylish jackets and coats. Now they hang somewhat loosely. Meanwhile, Brady, despite always having a jacket or coat on, cannot disguise the heft he is carrying around. His recent sunburn, in the middle of a Salem winter, was jarring and while I realize they shot the scene last summer, couldn't make-up have been used to soften the glaring red?

I fear for John soiling himself each time he growls one of his lines while emoting and clearly bringing it from some deep, dark place within himself.

Paulina, despite some weight loss, never looked worse than during her extended scene with Abe "the morning after" on Tuesday's show. The angle at which they filmed her made her appear bloated and was very unflattering. Haven't seen a close-up that unsettling since Mae West in "Sextette".

Friday's show made me laugh when Everett (while talking on his cell with his boss Chad had let Steph in his hotel room) & whispered to her "I'll Be Off In A Sec." & then had to say to Chad (who heard that whisper to Steph) = " I'm sorry that wasn't to you Chad ". AWKWARD!!!

That Stephanie is racking up quite the body count.

So Wendy is staying & Harris is leaving soon with a new Gabi on the way.

You can really see Sheri Anderson's influence in these scripts. She's both treading water until Ron gets back, but she's playing her greatest hits and her strengths. The show is structured better in my opinion. Not saying that I would want her to replace Ron, but I wouldn't be mad if she stuck around to soften Ron's rough spots. "Ron, this doesn't have to be a joke," "Ron, maybe we let this scene play for longer than 20 seconds." "Ron, play this emotional beat instead of making it camp."

Soap reporter, Michael Maloney at Soaphub, got NBC/Peacock Exec Michael Sluchan to comment on Days at the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) presentations.

(btw - If you don't already know, Sluchan is gay.)

There has been a lot of chatter online that Zucker's lawsuit is some death knell for Days. They fired the main guy she's targeting and she clearly was willing to stick around if she got the contract she wanted. I don't know if this will get to court or Corday will settle or it will just die on the vine. There are multiple sides to these kinds of stories, the online community has chosen to believe Zucker's. Other than agreeing that Alarr should have been fired years ago and was a bad producer, I think the story is much more complicated than her suit states. You will never convince me that Ariane Zucker is some innocent victim, which once again takes me back to her almost non response to the Trump thing.

The next oldest set still in use would be Katherine Chancellor's living room on Y&R, dating back to late 1973. However, JFP altered that set during her rein, changing the orientation of the room to the side.
