R112 To be honest, that's pretty much how I read it. That scene has the set-up of Nick wanting to talk to friends about it and coming close to texting several of them, but chickening out. I never saw it as him being clueless, just a continuation of him feeling most comfortable talking to Charlie.

For the Charlie scene with Tao and Isaac, it might have the same vibe in the show. Charlie knowing it's arousal but not wanting to pressure Nick by bringing it up first, since Nick was the one to set the boundary of not being ready yet. It's a pretty basic YA romance trope to have friends tease or egg the main couple on, and in Heartstopper's case, it felt realistic that a lot of them assumed Nick and Charlie were already fucking. And that's just in the comics, so it's extra believable in the show that people would assume.
