Happy Friday! Today’s Roasted Potatoes with Caramel & Prunes Recipe is a Winner!

I’m sure this will be received with skepticism, but these potatoes are wonderful served with duck breast or lamb. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

“Us”?

by Anonymousreply 2March 10, 2023 1:05 PM

We're Ottolenghi fans, are we?

by Anonymousreply 3March 10, 2023 1:06 PM

Prunes? Hope there's a toilet nearby

by Anonymousreply 4March 10, 2023 1:07 PM

I'm sorry, but as an AI language model, I cannot taste food and provide an opinion on its taste. However, Greg's Roasted Potatoes with Caramel & Prunes Recipe sounds interesting and unique. It might be worth trying out the recipe and deciding for yourself if you like the taste.

by Anonymousreply 5March 10, 2023 1:09 PM

The link Greg posted leads to a page that says "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site," so here's a link to the original Ottolenghi page. Sorry it's so light gray, but that's something beyond my control.

Yes, R2, we are rather accustomed to using the pluralis majestatis.

by Anonymousreply 7March 10, 2023 1:20 PM

Greg was too busy voiding prunes to post a proper link

by Anonymousreply 8March 10, 2023 1:21 PM

Thank you, R6. The link works for me. How strange.

by Anonymousreply 9March 10, 2023 1:27 PM

R5, the AI language model, is correct. Give these a try.

by Anonymousreply 10March 10, 2023 1:28 PM

Forgive my extraneous comma above following the word ‘model.’

by Anonymousreply 11March 10, 2023 1:35 PM

R11 Well, okay Greg. Since you were so polite about it, I'll forgive you. Just this once though!

by Anonymousreply 12March 10, 2023 2:38 PM

Thank you, R11!

by Anonymousreply 13March 10, 2023 2:43 PM

If I were ever to go to that much trouble to cook, I’d want the end result to be an entire, nutritionally complete meal. I just can’t see working that hard for a side dish.

But I am curious. What would be the entree in this case?

by Anonymousreply 14March 10, 2023 2:52 PM

R14, I would serve these with duck breast, lamb, roast pork, or roast chicken. They would be delicious !

by Anonymousreply 15March 10, 2023 4:00 PM

[quote] Greg was too busy voiding prunes to post a proper link

My link works just fine.

by Anonymousreply 16March 3, 2024 2:39 PM

I'm sure everyone has a little goose fat on hand for dishes like this.

by Anonymousreply 17March 3, 2024 2:42 PM

Duck fat can also be used.

by Anonymousreply 18March 3, 2024 2:44 PM

Ok, that's different. I'm sure everyone has a little duck fat around the house.

by Anonymousreply 19March 3, 2024 3:08 PM

Well, at least you've stopped copying and pasting recipes by others and claiming they're your own.

by Anonymousreply 25March 3, 2024 3:48 PM

Greg, why did you bump this thread?

by Anonymousreply 26March 3, 2024 3:53 PM

Greg's obvious way of bumping one of his old threads is to respond to a post as if it were a current conversation even though in this case it's from a year ago.

by Anonymousreply 27March 3, 2024 3:55 PM

Prunes because they are a natural source of fiber and can help promote regular bowel movements and prevent constipation, which is a common issue among seniors.

by Anonymousreply 28March 3, 2024 3:58 PM

Not only do prunes and potatoes taste amazing together, they also work together to keep you feeling happy and healthy. It's like a musical masterpiece for your body, helping you poop with ease and enjoy every bite along the way. Cheers to the power of prunes and potatoes!

by Anonymousreply 29March 3, 2024 4:00 PM

Could this be made with butter instead of goose or duck fat?

by Anonymousreply 30March 3, 2024 4:00 PM

1. I have always shared my favorite recipes and procedures.

2. I never claim to have created a recipe unless I have.

3. I am touched by your devotion. Seriously. I wouldn’t know how to find those recipe titles, but somehow you did. I’m happy you’re a fan—or else a stalker.

Greg it's not 1958 anymore. You need to present the datalounge with recipes that are more reflective of the times- another words- more healthful- low fat, low sugar, low salt and low carbohydrate and low calorie.

Prunes and caramel? Is this what happens to geriatric types when they have too many edibles and get the munchies?

by Anonymousreply 80March 5, 2024 4:23 PM

After indulging in Greg's Roasted Potatoes with Caramel & Prunes, I soon found myself regretting my decision. Within a few hours, I was hit with intense stomach cramps and a sudden urge to run to the bathroom.

As the night went on, I experienced multiple episodes of watery diarrhea and uncontrollable vomiting. My body was aching, my head was pounding, and I felt utterly miserable. It was a long and sleepless night filled with trips back and forth to the bathroom.

The next day, I was left feeling weak, dehydrated, and exhausted. It took days for my stomach to settle and for me to regain my appetite.

by Anonymousreply 81March 5, 2024 5:11 PM

R81, you sound weak.
