Seems like he was filming yesterday based on him following some on-set hair and makeup crew.

Last week when all the drama was unfolding with Bash and then Joe, I felt very bad for them. I figured Joe was more angry than truly upset, but his sudden deactivation of his twitter account really surprised me. The other cast members not providing noticeable support made it worse. Now, I see things very differently.

Joe knew the Marvel announcement was coming out today. He tried to support Bash in a minor way the fans would notice, liking a few tweets, thinking it would slide by unnoticed by all but the most observant fans. When things shifted and he was suddenly being attacked, he deactivated. I no longer think he was super upset by the attack, I just think he needed to end the conversation fast.

Today, when all the MCU fans search his name, he’s not in the center of a sa apologist scandal. Instead, he’s being showered with love by all his fans with no scandal in sight. Even the two tweets he liked have been unliked. His friends weren’t vocally rallying around him, because they all knew he was fine and wanted as little attention brought to the issue as possible.

Joe knows what he’s doing. I think he has what it takes to survive in this industry. Crazy Heartstopper fans were just the warmup for the crazy Marvel fans he’ll face next.

I wonder if Dampyr will get developed further? Sony buying it is a good sign; bash getting A few more films potentially lined up would really cap off the great career paths the cast is having thus far.

I refuse to get my hopes up about Dampyr until he’s on a set shooting a sequel after what happened with Dead Boy Detectives.

Is anyone familiar with the Dampry comics? Or from Italy and actually watched the film. The part Bash plays is Yuri. I read a synopsis of the comics online and it sounds like Yuri is a very big character at the beginning of the movie. At some point his character is attacked by vampires. I couldn’t tell from the online summary if he is killed, or turned into a vampire himself. If he dies in the first movie, he’s not going to be in a sequel. But if he’s turned in the first movie, he could come back as the villain in a sequel.

This is sweet, both Tobie’s tweet and his reply. I primarily care about Bash and Joe from the cast but it really does seem like a close knit and very nice group.

R53 I think the entire cast can / likely will go. Flights and hotels for them are sort of a drop in the bucket for Netflix, and 4 of the actors, the producer, and the writer and director are all “directly” nominated so going anyway. Taking the other 7 mains (or whoever of them can attend) looks nice if they win best show and us a good gesture. They really play up the harmony and mutual love of the cast (which to be fair I think actually exists) and bringing them all out for it and having them there to react when (likely) one wins best lead and one wins best supporting is worth it.

Netflix is a little weird when it comes to that, Stranger Things was nominated for Drama Series at the Primetime Emmys this year and they didn’t send a single person. But the nominated cast is a pretty sure bet with these being their first major nominations, I would think.

r69 Maia's primarily based out of Buenos Aires and she has an apartment in NYC. She was in Miami to shoot scenes for the Cuban Girl's movie. There's also been nothing to indicate that Kit will be flying out to see her soon. If anything, he'll be flying to LA for the Emmys in December.

This hiatus coming up is (probably) going to be the longest one since the cast broke out so I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear about the rest of them booking things sooner rather than later. They’ll have a little more flexibility now.

Bash wrapped up filming HTDBW the first week of September. Both Bash and Joe seem ambitious. Will seems to primarily focus on his music.

He’s filmed something every years but he’s more fun with his other friends than his cast mates like summer and halloween probably because they all went private this year

R65 as others have said they seem prettt mutually obsessed. I don’t think they’ll spend the entire 4/5 months together (bash just kicking around Atlanta while Joe films all day for 4-5 months seems dull) but I think it’s likely they spend a few weeks on and off visiting one another. Atlanta is a major hub airport so getting from there to London direct is quite easy, and Even last minute auditions for bash would give him at least a day to get back. I do think longer term they have to figure out what they’ll do as presuming success of the show Joe will be there 4-5 months for the next few years, but while them breaking up is possible I do have s weird feeling they’ll make it work

R92 basically hit the nail on the head. I feel really bad for kit that he was forced to come out but now that he has he’s legitimately reached god status in the fans’ minds. From day 1 they’ve had a weird fetish for the idea of kit being Joe’s biggest protector and basically projecting the Nick and Charlie dynamic onto them, with tweets about how kit probably made Joe feel confident on set and gave him advice and was so proud of him etc. they can’t seem to accept that they have a really lovely friendship but that Kit and Joe are not their characters - both in terms of relationships and even personality - and Joe isn’t “so lucky” to star alongside Kit. There’s always been a clear bias and preference that tbf would exist even absent Joe’s relationship with Bash, but him having a personality that’s not just constant gratitude for Kit’s existence coupled with him dating someone else from the show and not seeming to be “into” Kit seems to really piss them off.

Also to be honest there’s a thirst element. Most of the fans are women who are into Kit and to an extent Bash and Will looks wise. They may condemn the comments calling Joe ugly but I think a fair few of them do secretly think kit is better looking and thirst over him whereas Joe doesn’t get them horny.

R108 I honestly thought it wasn’t unlikely that Bash and Joe came back for a celebratory dinner with the Croft parents and he and Doulla literally dropped into the store opening for 20 min. Clearly they adore Joe; they came to visit them for his birthday and he lived with them while bash is away, and would make sense that bash would basically treat the store event like making a guest appearance if he was already home.

R111 if the rumours are true that this is an adaptation of Children’s crusade, I’d bet on him having 3rd or 4th most screentime but think Kathryn, Aubrey, and likely Emma will dominate screentime. Still, if he’s Wiccan it’s a great ante up for future marvel projects and he’s lucky he won’t suffer comparison To other male stars (ie what happened to him with Kit on Heartstopper), and will probably have more free time for bash and his mates and family to visit or for him to head back to London.

If he is actually Wiccan, honestly it doesn’t matter if this is only his introduction and he appears for like 20 minutes overall. The MCU is working towards building the young avengers, Wiccan is a part of that so that means long term he’s going to appear in several shows and movies.

Reddit’s marvel communities have a theory I think might be true - that given Aubrey was cast and labeled the villain, she might be a gender swapped Nicholas scratch. If that’s the case, which makes some sense to me, Joe is basically definitely Wiccan and even if his role is a glorified cameo s1 (which I doubt) it tees him up for major roles in coming seasons and films.

Wonder how long after shooting Marvel series tend to be released? Definitely won't be the (supposed) quick turnaround of season 2 of Heartstopper - are we looking at 2024 release?

Honestly I think him filming in Atlanta will just make their current level of privacy a bit easier; there aren’t going to be paparazzi following them around Atlanta and frankly they’re not as likely to get recognized even by random fans there as in London. After Coven of Chaos comes out Joe will obviously be more famous and recognizable but celebrities at comparable levels of fame walk down the street with no issues all the time, they’ll be fine.

I’m curious about Bash’s HTDBW premier - will Joe end up going? Obviously if it’s midweek in London and he’s filming he’ll sadly have no control over that, but I imagine if it’s on a weekend or he can snag a day off he’d try to go

R169 They’ve definitely brought each other as plus ones but I think people have chalked it up to them being close friends and costars for the most part. Bash was Joe’s plus one to the 2021 attitude awards and to the Soho House thing this year; Bash took Joe to the Craft BAFTAs. They didn’t pose together or anything at either attitude or Craft but tbf neither was a “guest of honour” at either; attitude was focused on the show’s main 4 actors and Bash was presenting at the Craft BAFTAs. I do think even if they keep it tame and PG at upcoming premieres, marvel fans / Agatha fans are likely less naive about them still clearly dating than HS fans are.

They took each other to red carpet events as +1 before the show came out, but haven’t in months. Even at things like Paris Fashion Week where the attended events together, they made sure not to be in any Getty Image photos together. My thoughts are they will either start going to red carpet events as a couple and make their relationship more public, or they will break up within a year.

Attitude this year, for example: they went knowing they were winning and accepting an award. The youth film thing bash went to; no one brought a plus one. The most recent events they went to together aside from the NTAs, where the whole cast was invited, I’m pretty sure Bash was his plus one (Soho House and the Dior dinner). I think once it’s non HS related events, so the HTDBW premiere, anything Agatha related, etc., they’re honestly much more likely to bring one another as they won’t get the weird HS fan hate. Joe came off a Twitter hiatus to like tweets defending bash; Bash acted like Joe’s PR agent re Marvel, and They were walking around Disney holding hands and linking arms and taking couples’ photos knowing loads of fans were there. they’re not posting a kissing picture anytime soon but I don’t think it’s a secret. Think your first guess of being more obvious is more likely to be correct though again they’re young so who knows.

Remember when Joe and Bash both disappeared for about 10 days last July? Most people thought they were on vacation together in Greece. A few people claimed Joe was in IOM. I now wonder if they went to LA. Joe could have been doing chemistry reads at that time, and the super short trip in August where he was spotted by a fan could have been to sign contracts. I’d love it if Bash had a US/Hollywood based project announcement soon too.

Your theory makes a lot of sense. The casting call in late June started the rumors of Wiccan appearance in the Agatha series. Read the thread, the leaked casting call mentioned a gay teen with a dark sense of humor, they used the exactly same description to talk about Joe’s character in recent articles.

R175 The trip wherever they went was right after the DM pictures came out. So July. Some random girl saw them at 5am and then girl was later in Greece on vacation, so people assumed Greece. No clue where she saw them, in Greece or the airport one though. Some anon CC said he was spotted in LA, but there was never any proof he was.

I find it hard to believe they could be in LA for over a week and never get spotted, unless they went and then left and went somewhere else, which could have happened.

Then they completely disappear and nobody saw them again until Joe had to return to London for rehearsals for his play. Eventually people figured out Bash was in York filming a movie. Joe was then spotted by that fan in LA in early August two days before his play’s opening night.

I honestly think it’s most likely he went for an in person chemistry read in august around the time of the trials, maybe had a virtual screenread first, and their week or so off the grid was a vacation. Agree with r177 that I’d be really surprised if they were in LA without being spotted for so long - though I guess it’s certainly possible.

Kit made his trip to LA very public, announcing he was there as soon as he arrived, and then going to lots of touristy places. And most of the fangirls who spotted him admitted they spent hours searching for him. If Joe and Bash were mainly there for work meeting and auditions, and avoided popular tourist sites, it’s unlikely anyone would recognize them. There are so many actors in LA, only a dedicated fan is going to think twice about seeing a C-list celebrity.

I do think it was a vacation since Joe had actually tweeted about vacation suggested before deleting it didn't he? And actually they were spotted together outside of London with Alice after whatever trip it was before Bash went to York. Bash was pretty tan. This picture was taken end of July.

I do suppose they could have gone both places though. They enjoy their frequent flier miles.

And I also think vacation because they were going to be long distance for the next few months and were both working and then going basically straight into HS filming and probably wanted to spend some time alone together (snuggling platonically).

The insiders have all basically said “he has to be Wiccan, right?” None know definitively.

The reason no one has discounted Nicholas Scratch entirely either as the character Joe plays or as a gender-bent version played by Audrey Plaza is because Marvel is pretty flexible when adapting characters and isn’t super faithful to the books. But again, it’s much more likely Joe is Wiccan.

It being a limited series makes me think more that it’s Wiccan. If it was meant to be a few seasons I’d doubt they’d write in a major young avenger for so long, but using the season to launch Wiccan and maybe genderbent Nicholas Scratch as a movie arc villain makes sense to me.

If joe landed the role of Wiccan there’s a chance he could be in the new guardians of the galaxy movie

Patience truly paid off for Joe. I was also kind of worried that the other HS cast were booking other shows/movies and we heard nothing about Joe. I’m 99% sure he’s Wiccan so he’s got at least a decade of shows and movies with marvel and of course he just opened the door for lots of mainstream projects.
