Do we think this is true? Which videos/audio do you reckon they were pissed off about being spread? I can sort of understand why Kit might not like the 'I'm a terrible actor' fairly heartfelt conversation to be recorded without his knowledge and posted publicly - even though it was a conversation with strangers, it was still a fairly small group and I don't think I'd want that spread far and wide. It'd probably be a bit mortifying if a casting director came across it when he was auditioning for something.

I doubt they care about the 'darling' audios - Kit openly called Joe darling twice in front of fans and they must've known that they would tell other people (unless the pet name is just ingrained now and they didn't think about it). The rest of the audios/videos, from what I saw, were just lighthearted clips of them greeting fans etc. And with the amount people had to pay just to meet a few teenagers, and with the con squeezing every bit of money out of people, I'm not surprised that fans tried to get their money's worth.

I would have been more inclined to think that Kit and Joe pulled out if it was announced that there was a scheduling issue and they don’t have time to record the videos anymore (because they’re shouting HS), but they’re both so accommodating of fans that I find it hard to believe they felt violated enough over videos that weren’t a big deal to do that. I also kind of assume they’re aware that the fans they were going to record videos for weren’t the fans that recorded them at the con in the first place. That random is also the only person I’ve seen saying that it was Kit and Joe that pulled out, too.

The con is also generally on the warpath over recorded videos right now, they banned some girl from an online con for posting short, grainy videos of an online panel. The videos hadn’t widely circulated, either.

Honestly they probably knew that people that were meeting them would record their video interactions. If anything It’s probably just the con that canceled the videos. They are not exactly known for being organized or treating their customers with respect. Although If i were Kit, maybe i would feel some type of way about the one audio of me criticizing myself being spread

My guess is there was an explicit contract term - something about how no recordings would be taken without their explicit consent etc. - and that failure to follow through on that or other terms would result in them not performing future obligations for the convention. It seems like this was actually in all four of their contracts; one tweet from the convention said they were trying to get in touch with Bash’s agents to figure out if he was going to complete the videos or they could send them, as I think he’d done 3/4 of his pre-con.
