This 25 talents thing Bash appeared in - I’m really surprised they picked him. I’m a big Bash fan & I genuinely hope he goes on to have a successful career - but honestly, he’s not exactly the biggest rising star. He’s barely in HS.. compared to say Omari Douglas who was brilliant in Its A Sin & Constellations with Russell Tovey. Joe strikes me as a more obvious choice if going for one of the HS cast!

Bash has a je ne sais quoi quality to him and oozes charisma, it doesn’t surprise me that he was on the list. I think he would suit really well in period pieces.

The magazine seemed to bounce between little known stage talents etc and high following. Bash has 1.8m followers, many of whom are diehard fangirls. While his roles in each have been minor, he has on read a good resume - Heartstopper, Game of Thrones, West End a few times over. Plus very photogenic and great management. He's also still young, and perhaps has a project on the horizon we haven't heard about yet. I can get why he was chosen.

Bash had a kids BAFTA nomination. And he didn’t win. He’s parts in all his projects have been pretty small. He is attractive & he is charismatic but still sits oddly to me. I'd like to see him in an adaption of The Song of Achilles. The producers of BBC's Peaky Blinders optioned the rights to it a few years ago for a possible miniseries.

I can imagine him as the Patroclus casting fairly easily. Will laugh my ass off if they try to stunt cast him as Achilles and Joe as Patroclus for stunt casting. I doubt it but who knows.

Kit as Achilles, no way. First of all, Achilles must be beautiful. Kit is an attractive boy, but beautiful he is not. Second, Achilles is athletic, but not bulky. I believe that he would be more the type of guy with slow twitch, spindle shaped muscle fiber type, slim and firm. Remember that Achilles was hiding disguised as beautiful, tall girl.

Patroclus have to be masculine too. Although milder tempered than Achilles and following his lead, he is no fem boy from YA fiction at all. He was a warrior too and even though he was not on Achilles demi God level he was an equal partner to him.

I dunno if it will be a huge role but they need to pad out the 8 episodes and add s little conflict so I can see them writing him in some decent scenes. But even if he stayed very minor and only had limited scenes, unless he’s in good auditions or has signed something we haven’t heard about, it doesn’t seem he has work coming up - taking a paying job that lets him hang out with his boyfriend and stay tied to his biggest project seems to be an easy choice.

I’d be surprised if he had a super significant role in the second season, I imagine it’ll be on par with what he did this season or even a bit less. They’re introducing Sahar, the second teacher that Mr. Ajayi dates, Nick’s brother, Isaac is getting fleshed out more, the Elle and Tao relationship will ramp up, etc. And Harry is the one that pops up in Paris for the beginning of his little redemption, not Ben. I wouldn’t be surprised if the stuff he has in Solitaire gets moved up to the third season, though.

I think Bash will be back for sure. I think they’ll flesh his character out a bit, I still think they’ll replace whatever Harry’s storyline is with Ben. Harry was a pretty boring character. All her ‘baddies’ are very one dimensional. Which is fine when the story is focused on Nick & Charlie but with additional seasons, you’d expect to see more depth. But even in the books, there is no real understanding of what is making them bully .. we know Ben is closeted gay & he’s not coping very well. He’s taking his confusion, upset & the fact he’s scared & hates himself out on others. He pushes too far, sure but it doesn’t make him a sexual predator for life. But of course, he cannot be redeemed for his actions aged 16. He is a bully & a baddie for life.
