I will say in all fairness it's likely the concert in IOM and the play today (and presumably a few day stay in London though who knows) were pre planned and the beach club promo was more last minute, but even so - his desire to see his boyfriend is strong. Anyway, back to Bash and Joe - I will also say that the not confirming they're a couple makes sense to me for a bit even after Bash comes out as whatever sexuality he is, if he wants to. When you come out and you're in a same sex relationship people often do the whole "so were you just gay/bi/whatever for him?" when you break up, or associate your sexuality solely with the relationship you're in. Even though Bash and Joe are obviously going strong, I think IF Bash plans to formally come out at some point it makes sense to not "confirm" him and Joe until a bit after that. Of course that's assuming he plans to formally come out; he might be like Kit and want to play things closer to the chest.

Joe is definitely not photogenic. There I said it.

Joe is generally considered as rather unattractive right now but I think he will eventually grow into his looks. Also, maybe just a bit of trimming the tip of his nose will further help. Adding more weight and muscles as he gets older will make him more appealing.

I think Joe is actually really striking and good looking in videos. I think he doesn't pose super well for photos (tilts his chin up and does a close lipped smile when his full smile is far nicer), but he is noticeably attractive in Tobie's vlogs, interviews, and the show.

I agree. I think Joe is lovely in videos etc, very cute. Very boyish but he is 18. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. it's interesting how polarizing Joe's looks are. I saw him for the first time in an interview and it didn't even cross my mind that people would find him actively unattractive. In videos and gifs I think he and Bash are a very attractive and sweet couple.

I've noticed both in the vlogs, and in clips like the above and the Brighton video, people comment a lot on Joe staring at Bash which definitely happens. But I think that in those videos you see Joe actually makes Bash laugh a lot; I like how genuinely fond they seem of each other.

Joe looks better in motion or when his eyebrows are covered. A little grooming would go a long way. Really don't think he's ugly though. R152 Sorry this is a monologue, I have read the webcomic and work in PR so I actually think I can do decent guesswork on this. Realistically he has one of the biggest followings of the cast (he's 4th with probably only the ~10th most screentime), is the most active in interacting with fans and Netflix and other accounts on social media to drive engagement etc., and he's with Joe. He also gets on super well with everyone else, has hung out with literally all the cast and Alice, the creator, outside of work, and has the most famous friends of everyone in the cast (e.g. Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Amybeth, so on.) I would be shocked if they didn't write him in in some capacity; frankly while the webcomics are cute and sweet they're not enough for 8 more episodes alone from the next volume.

One of the things the creator really cares about is not breaking the main couple Nick and Charlie up - having Ben written in again as an antagonist or on a redemption arc is a good way to add some conflict and plot development without having a breakup storyline. I would be shocked to not see him in the next season. I can also see him becoming one of the "Netflix actors" they cast a fair bit. He's young, good looking with a built in fanbase, clearly easy to work with, and probably not too expensive; he'd be a good bet for a series without a built in fan following to drum up publicity and younger fans.

A good take R153. I think while it’s all sweet & lovely Nick & Charlie bring happily together forever but it doesn’t translate to very exciting television. There needs to be some kinda angst or drama, it’s just how TV works. I know they will move to look at Charlie’s eating disorder & mental health, maybe that’ll be enough.. but still think we’ll see Bash back!

R133 That's a nice photo of Joe. You can see the problem with his looks is really his nose is too short and the long brows and wide forehead are out of proportion with it. And those ears sticking out makes the issue more noticeable. In contrast, Bash's long nose is his most obvious flaw, but it is not particularly noticeable in photos other than close up or profile because he has such nice eyes and hair.

Imagine how grateful/relieved Joe's mother is that such a good family are not only supportive but are also taking care of her teenage son.

My point was not that he's some kind of huge star, but that the pickings are so slim that's he's already shot close to the top of a currently very limited field.

I’d say it entirely depends on your age. My friends are 30-40. Very few have watched HS & if they have, thought it was cute & moved on. Amongst my age group, It’s A Sin had a much bigger impact & was a show we all talked about for weeks. Actors like Omari Douglas & Olly Alexander (obviously mostly a singer) are more well known to my friends. Also Russell Tovey, Ben Wishaw.

That said, I really do take my hat off to Joe for being out at the very start of his career. It’s brave. And I really respect him for it.

Interesting that two of the most famous under-30s mentioned (Troye Sivan and Olly Alexander) both started out as actors, then came out when they'd stopped acting and focused on singing, and only later went back to acting (now in gay roles).

Kit is regularly featured in Tobie's vlogs. Kit even bought Tobie a new camera for vlogging the upcoming seasons. I think some here need to hold up their hands about their bias against Kit.

R213 honestly I think he’s just more introverted and had fewer scenes with Tobie. For as much as Will and Tobie filmed together (I don’t think there was a single Isaac scene without Tao in it), Will is also not a huge percentage of the vlog, again because I think he might be a little quieter. Of course he’s in it a fair bit but you’d expect him to be in most of it just based on screentime. It’s primarily Joe, Yaz, and Bash along with Tobie which makes sense because he has a lot of scenes with Joe and Yaz and they and Bash are all said to be very extroverted. I think Kit was also actually decent friends with the rugby boys; he is the only cast member to follow a few of them on IG, so I think he may have spent time with them too - I don’t think he has any issues with Joe, Bash, or their relationship

R212, they certainly might. Actors can shoot as many project as they can fit in a year if they want. Early in their careers, they won’t be pulling in huge wages. And they’ll want the experience & exposure. They shot HS over 3 months, back to back seasons.. maybe double that. Still leaves them 6 months to do other things. Yas has got herself a huge gig which is currently filming I think. Kit has been off voicing Pan. Bash in particular has a very minor role, he won’t be turning down other work so long as it doesn’t clash.

HS has just been renewed, presumably s2/3 has not been fully written yet. There’s no indication when filming will begin again, maybe later this year, possibly next.

There is clearly no issue with Kit & anyone. He is typically sat with everyone looking at his phone. Or quietly nearby between filming. Kit (& Joe) had far, far more to film than anyone else. Tobie is vlogging the few scenes he had each episode. Kit & Joe would be working far longer days & far more days overall. Joe mentioned he was so exhausted he got sent home crying poor lad.

The supporting cast had plenty of time to fool around, vlog & be silly best pals on set. Joe & Kit appear to join in at the weekend. I’m not Kits biggest fan for other reasons but I don’t see any issues between him & the cast at all.

I agree with those that say Bash will definitely be in the future seasons. Harry has a minor redemption arc in the comics that Alice could easily give to Bash's character and expand on it. I'm sure they'll be expanding on a lot of the supporting characters, but I really hope that doesn't come at the expense of Nick and Charlie's storyline.

While I like the supporting characters, at the end of the day, this is Nick and Charlie's story. That's what I'm here for. Nick and Charlie have so many wonderful scenes in book 3 when they go to Paris...if some of those are cut to make room for Ben or Isaac, for example, I'm going to be pissed. Like, Isaac is funny, but I honestly don't need to know his backstory. He's perfectly fine to be in the background as a supporting character, coming in now and then for comic relief.

I hope Alice doesn't lose sight of the main storyline in order to cram in tons of filler so the other actors have more material.

Alice is really involved, so I’m sure it’ll stay Charlie & Nick focused. & I’m sure Bash will be back. However, what works in a story in a book often doesn’t translate as well onto TV/Film. The general audience (not the fans of the books who aren’t enough from a viewing figure perspective) will be quickly bored with a show focused solely on two characters happily together & out to their friends. That’s just dull. There needs to be some drama, some tension, some arguing, some element of what will happen next .. & almost certainly some added interest from characters with other storylines. Think the fans are just going to have to accept some changes.

I had also pondered about his brother & his business partner but then he doesn’t seem to appear in family photos/stories in comparison to his sisters husband who the family have presumably also known for years. So probably not. Their pizza looks delicious though!

Kit seems to be the most serious person of the group and bash as the group “clown”. Joe seems to hover somewhere in between. The whole cast seems to be divided into 3 groups. Kit and will going solo most of the time, with kit even more detached from the group. Joe and bash are out bieng as a couple. And the rest of the cast , mainly the supporting actors got piled together.

Kit and the rest hang out a normal amount for co-stars. They probably are friendly but beyond that have their own lives and as time goes by will hang out even less. Not everyone is dating each other like Bash and Joe. They aren't exactly the norm.

The season renewal probably came at the wrong time for Joe. He's probably packed in any efforts to study well for his finals.

R260 he's just an artsy fartsy type of guy, similar to his character. The type who will dip into his feminine side to be seen as cool or interesting, but ultimately prefers the vag.

To me, the tell tale sign is seeing which cast members hang out together. From last October, the cast had a very drunken livestream. Around second 50 you hear Yaz say "we are in a relationship... Bash Joe and I". Kizzy and Bash get visibly wide eyed and nervous before Yaz backtracks and says "Joe and I", and Tobie and Corinna start laughing like crazy. Seems a bit like they were worried she was going to out him and Joe as a couple

I think discussing people on a forum is very different to those on socials. I have never once contacted a celebrity nor have I ever tweeted about Bash/Joe or tweeted them. I have no interest in knowing them. But I do find them interesting to talk about. Or I did, mostly pre-HS. They’ve retreated so far off social media that there isn’t much to talk about anymore.
