I remember a few years ago when I worked in Salem, MA, they had their first Pride parade. My boss (who is like a nautical New England yuppie) stood by me as we watched the first parade outside.

The first thing she said after everything went by is “where’s all the gay guys”?

It was drag queens, females - non-binaries / trans / women, mostly obese with dyed hair, corporate sponsors, small straight businesses, straight city people, and straight families with kids, most likely teaching kids how to be accepting or whatever. Lots of kids were in the parade last year too.

But that’s what a lot of Gen Z wants, family friendly prides. Where everyone grabs a rainbow flags or whatever and is an “ally”.

It’s disgusting. As I’ve said before if I want to see action, there’s more hot drunk man on man action at the St. Patty’s Day Parade in Boston than there is at Pride.

I think things like leather festivals and shit is where gay men will flee to.

This is similar to the black movement in the 1960’s.

Black civil rights leaders were influential and fought for the 1968 immigration act. The US denied immigration based on skin color and that included China, Eastern Europe, India, Muslims, Arabic countries, etc.

When black people won civil rights for themselves, they fought for other people of color - just like when gays won gay marriage, the alphabet started to expand.

And look what happened. Non-black people of color benefited more from civil rights and not only that but they’re just as racist and hateful against black Americans, if not more. Even African immigrants have black Americans. And black people made their way to the bottom of civil rights.
