The first ep I've ever watched of this series; I began watching Heather's home tours on YouTube during quarantine and became a fan. One question: Has Shannon always been such a raging alcoholic? She's not even trying to hide it. Good fuck, what a trainwreck. Another example of Bravo and Andy Cohen enabling someone who so obviously needs rehab and some time away to reflect on things.

So after the first episode, these are my observations:

I suspect Heather gets very boring very fast after the house tour. She refuses to open up her marriage and personal life for inspection, so her only real role is to to show off her worldly possessions.

Shannon is lost this season. Her two major storylines - her rocky marriage and divorce from David and her endless cycle of friendship and feuding with Vicky and Tamra - are long gone, and she doesn't even have Kelly to spar with now.

Every single of the new cast members seems vacuous and shallow, so they'll fit right in.

I saw an episode of "Botched" on YouTube. Terry Dubrow (Heather's plastic surgeon husband) and Paul Nassif (ex-husband of RHOBH Adrienne Maloof).

Wow - Paul had a really nice bedside manner and caring demeanor with patients. Terry's face looked botched and his demeanor was eager beaver. Never saw that side of Paul when watching RHOBH.

Doctors are sued all the time and Terry is no exception. It’s entirely possible that he forgot all about it especially since she dropped the lawsuit. Also, Nicole sees a little unhinged so I can see her keeping it a secret. I get the impression she and Heather are more acquaintances than best buddies.

This show is getting so lazy, ever since the whole Denise “Bravo, Bravo…” thing and now they break the third wall all the time. We’re watching the production of a show now, not the lives of housewives.

What an odd, disparate cast. If Heather is going to quickly shut down filming anytime she can't control the narrative or if something unflattering is revealed about her or Terry, I don't see her return lasting more than a season. Besides, the whole novelty of her return was finally seeing her money pit house that she teased for quite a few seasons before abruptly exiting the show right before it was complete. Now that she's gotten the opportunity to show it off, it doesn't seem like she has anything else to bring to the table, especially being so drama averse.

I still don't understand Emily's casting or how she has lasted as long as she has. At most, she should only be a "friend of". Gina never made much sense in this cast either.

This is the one show I never rewatch..

IIRC, the way that family's story played out was dark. Tammy's creepy older ex-husband and his friends all married young Filipino girls, then he died suddenly, without a will, so the new wife got everything and the two daughters got nothing. I think the new wife refused to share a dime. I think this happened between Seasons 2 and 3 and by the middle of S3 the daughters were both spiraling out of control so Tammy quit the show.
