R9, I've watched that footage, well, let's just say more than once, trying to figure out what was going on in their heads, and I believe when he brought out the first gun, he wasn't even planning to use it. The Goys seem to not care that he pulled a gun on them; I think he probably threatened them with it before. I think he surprised himself when he pulled the trigger, just shooting wildly like he doesn't even realize he's shooting. I think if the Goys had ran then, they'd be alive. But the lady just kept going, and as he kept shooting I think he made up his mind that this was going to be his last stand.

R14 And his final words to her as he fired the kill shot were “You shoulda kept your fucking mouth shut” (or words to that effect.) I got the feeling he had fantasized about this scenario more than once.

Well the female Goy (sorry I just saw the video for the first time yesterday, so I'm not that familiar with all the names) kept taunting Spaide.

So did he just shoot in the legs or arms, because even abdominal wounds can kill you in a few seconds. And he was an army vet and if you have a handgun and an AK15 you're likely not a bad shooter, one would think.

I know when things get so heated with very personal insults, esp if they've been going on for weeks and months, people can snap and apparently that's what happened with Spaide.

And the female Goy was still sitting upright, at least somewhat after Spaide put some bullets into her with his handgun. She even was moving a few seconds after he shot her with the AK15.

So it would be interesting to know what body parts Spaide aimed at the Goys.

I'm not sure Spaide was aiming at all with the hand gun. As for the AR, he shot to kill, but that lady was just too mean to die. She held on long after a normal person would have given up the ghost.

She refused to die out of spite.

They were ganging up on him for months, probably years and they thought they had him because it was 2 against 1 and they were bullies.

Mrs. Goy went down like she was James Cagney.

Taunting a man holding a gun, not flinching as shots were fired, being shot and STILL cursing him out, not writhing in pain.

The whole thing is weird about the Goys. Here they are, the victims of a homicide caught on camera, the footage having gone around the globe, and yet, nothing.

It could be that it was decided to hold a private family only funeral, given the circumstances of Ma & Pa Goy's deaths and also with Covid being on, but it just seems plain weird that there's nothing at all been published.

Aparently Spaide had a third gun, a rifle which he used to off himself. Didn't want to use one he killed the Goys with.

Sharon intimated that Dylan had an ax to grind and was fired when Jeff was...leading us to believe he may have been the recipient of said punch and may not have been forthcoming with all the facts.

Was it ever determined who released the video? Wasn't there a son there, or kids, and has anyone seen them?

If ghosts/restless/angry spirits really do exist, there no doubt these three people, or at least the Goys, are still there. They both seemed so aggressive, mean, and almost welcoming of trouble. Were photos of Spaide ever uncovered? Did you guys learn much about him?

I think this story resonates so much because who hasn't had a crazy neighbor or two or witnessed or been a part of a dispute between neighbors. Or you have one of those types of neighbors who's really quiet or "off" and you wonder how weird they really are? And here it is the archetypal neighbors dispute played out on a grand and tragic scale.

This is my story that happened in the late 70s/early 80s. One of the crazy neighbors was my narcissist mother, the other was our totally weird heavily on the spectrum next door neighbor who couldn't look anyone in the eye and gardened at night by flashlight. My mother didn't like that his pine tree branches hung over our driveway and dropped needles. (Nevermind that the branches were there when my parents bought the house) She insisted he either cut the branches off or come over and sweep our driveway. I'm not kidding. And she would send my passive by nature father over to do the bidding.

So the neighbor cuts a few branches to appease. But for a narcissist, it's never enough and she said if he can do a few, he can do more and sent my father off again. I was watching the interaction escalate into a loud argument. I'd never heard my father yell at anyone but me or crazy mom. The neighbor balled his fists up. I was horrified and thought they were going to come to blows. My dad turned away and stormed back into the house.

Years later I was running a work errand at the downtown post office. When I get to the window, I look up and it's weird Harvey. Now, this was a time when the term "going postal" gained popularity to describe mass shootings and the U.S. wasn't armed to the teeth yet. (For the youngsters: the first workplace shootings occurred at post offices perpetrated by disgruntled workers.) But I half-jokingly thought at the time "Shit. Good thing he didn't have a gun."

I was trying to find any probate or civil filings online in Luzerne County. Sometimes there are filings that you have to look up actually at the courthouse to find out that they exist. You can't find them online either through the state system or the county system. It's kind of a mess like a lot of Pennsylvania government. They could be negotiating everything beforehand and then just show up at the courthouse with a generic settlement agreement to file one day.

Something just occurred to me about this shooting. He’s very close to them at first and shooting at them but missing.

Initially he misses a lot. I think at first he just intended to scare them, enraged though he was. But what did they do? They engaged in a game of chicken with him, openly ridiculing him ... and his gun.

So at that point something snapped in him. It’s either impotent rage, or shame. If it’s rage he just switched over from scare mode to kill mode. If it’s shame, he may have felt so embarrassed that he hadn’t frightened them that he couldn’t *not* prove his worth — by actually carrying through on the threat.

They called his bluff and that was colossally fucking stupid.

This case should be the final nail in the coffin of limitless gun ownership in the USA. Of course we all know it’s not even close to being that.

I was at a party today and was chatting up a resident of Wilkes-Barre. He didn't have much in the way of inside information but he did say the word he heard about the Goys was that they were known as "white trash" and the neighbors were probably glad to be rid of them.

During our conversation a loudmouth woman interrupted us and told us she watched the video and "could hear the Goys' son crying 'My father. My father'". This is the first time I've heard this.

As per the video, and the notes on the video, "The Goys are seen removing snow from their parking spots and pushing in [sic] across the street, where they dumped it onto Spade's property." I've always wondered, did they do this out of sheer spite, hatred, and nastiness? If not, wasn't there some neutral spot between the houses where they could have dumped the snow, rather than pushing it across the street onto Spade's property and dumping it there?

You can tell from the video that they're very aggressive, R539, so I'm guessing they did it out of spite and entitlement.
