If he had a knife or gun on him at that moment then it would have been justifiable homicide. You have the right to use deadly force if you fear your life was in danger. What I find the most disturbing about the video is that the angry, swearing couple did not back off when faced with a gun. It was obvious the shooter was disturbed yet they ran across the street to hurl abuse at him and didn't stop even after he started shooting. And the wife, once shot, just kept up the bravado. The husband at least ran away but she wasn't backing down at all.

I think the thing is that the Goys represent a subset of the population that many of us dislike. They're loud, obnoxious, trashy bullies and I know I was absolutely disgusted by them and the uncouth way they antagonized a neighbour on a public street in the middle of the day. Obviously the videos online that we have seen were not the entire set of events that morning. After the events and talking to witnesses, the cops would have viewed the entire video showing all the events - not just the snippets that we have seen. That would explain how the cops knew that the Goys had been shoveling their snow onto Spaide's property and stated so in their report.

Later pictures of police at the scene show that it is snowing much harder than it was during the videos. Was another large snowfall expected that day? If a significant snowfall was expected, Spaide could have expected that the Goys would have continued to put that snow on his property.

Google Earth shows the little parking alcove has existed since 2005. So Jeff purchased the 6 W Bergh St house in 2015 thinking he had street parking for his truck. Unknown is why the heck James J Jr and Lisa Ann Goy got permission to use their FRONT LAWN at 13/15 W Bergh St as a parking area! With so many cars (their half of the duplex and the renter's side) they did not even have a place to put their snow on their property! There is a side driveway but because it somehow became a duplex, these people chose to put their cars on their front lawn.

Unknown is the history of the Goy Family owning 4 properties on the south side of Bergh St. I'm too lazy to go to Zillow and look up the dates. The Luzerne Co PA GIS site shows James Jr and Lisa owning 13/15 Bergh St. It shows James J Sr and Margaret Goy owning 23 and adjacent 29 Bergh St. I'm too lazy to determine if James J Sr and Margaret Goy are deceased and James Jr got the properties.

Unknown is why those really nice houses were built on the north side of Bergh St against the crappy houses on the south side. And how some became duplexes.
