by Anonymousreply 5March 22, 2021 7:19 PM

men's draw is out but hasn't been posted to twitter yet

Medvedev and Tsitsipas are the top 2 seeds

interesting first round matches

Lopez vs. Popyrin

Murray vs. Harris who just had his best career week in Dubai

Giron vs. Paul

Musetti vs. Mmoh

unreal how many men have dropped out. but it shows the future - Medvedev, Tsitsipas, and Zverev.

Murray's pulled out of Miami.

by Anonymousreply 9March 23, 2021 3:13 PM

R9, my Andy pulled out of me, I mean Miami, because he's one of the Big Four. The other three aren't playing, so my Andy had to drop out too as it wouldn't befit a legendary champion of his status to play a tournament against players of lower stature.

P.S. My Andy is the biggest of the Big Four, if you catch my drift.

by Anonymousreply 10March 23, 2021 3:27 PM

Wow. I remember when they used to call Miami 'the Fifth Major'. Now nobody bothers to show up.

by Anonymousreply 11March 23, 2021 3:43 PM

Miami was like the fifth major only for the women. Many of the top men often skipped Miami. JFC their honor roll shows Tim Mayotte (who?) as the first Miami champion. The fact that Rafa's never won it shows how seriously he takes the tournament.

Wimbledon >>>>>>>> US Open >>>>>>>> Roland Garros >>>>>>>>> Oz Open >>> ATP Masters >>>>>>>>>>> Miami

by Anonymousreply 12March 23, 2021 4:42 PM

shame about Murray

R12 Miami is a huge tournament and always has been. A lot of the Spanish speaking players love coming to Miami too. It's a big hole in Nadal's resume second only to his lack of titles at the World Tour Finals

by Anonymousreply 13March 23, 2021 5:18 PM

so glad tennis has another big event this week even if a number of top players are out. it's day 2 of qualifying for both draws and day 1 of main draw for the ladies

DL faves Kokkinakis and McDonald have qualified.

look out Pironkova qualified as well

by Anonymousreply 14March 23, 2021 5:22 PM

Filled with admiration for the top players that are taking a pass on Miami. It was the only sensible decision.

oh Venus. As a fan I want her to retire. She has declined so far she can lose to even Diyas who is a solid player but no real weapons or anything to hurt her with

by Anonymousreply 17March 24, 2021 12:43 AM

Jedi Master Sifo Diyas is still a leading member of the Jedi Council is he not?

by Anonymousreply 18March 24, 2021 4:36 AM

del Potro is having his FOURTH knee surgery! but he hopes to be back by the Olympics

by Anonymousreply 19March 24, 2021 4:58 AM

A couple of the players have made references to 'something going down' at Miami. Were they talking about the extra lockdown being implemented or some kind of player announcement?

by Anonymousreply 20March 24, 2021 6:19 AM

Does Venus seem a bit, well, not fat, but heavier than she used to be? I am so used to her very lean look and she seems a bit thicker to me. This latest loss is a crushing blow. I think she should skip the clay events and focus on winning Wimbledon or the USA Open where she has much better chances. No point tiring herself out trying to play on the slow dirt only to lose to some boring baseliner who will plant herself ten feet behind the baseline and hit topspin loppers all day.

by Anonymousreply 21March 24, 2021 8:45 AM

R21 I mean this in the nicest way as I like her a lot, but Venus has no chance in hell of winning Wimbledon or the US Open again.

by Anonymousreply 22March 24, 2021 8:48 AM

R22, the US Open might be more of a challenge because players like Osaka are great on hardcourts, but if a human backboard like Simona Help can win Wimbledon, a natural grasscourter like Venus has an equally good chance. Serena would be her biggest threat. Players like Kvitov or Mugu or Pliskov are too flashy and will lose early. Osaka is shit on grass and Barty will lose in the first round again.

Venus knows how to play on grass. The others apart from Serena don't.

by Anonymousreply 23March 24, 2021 8:55 AM

Venus looks out of shape and she'd old. She's losing routinely in first rounds now. It's a shame. I can't understand why she doesn't hang it up unless it's sponsorship $$.

by Anonymousreply 24March 24, 2021 10:23 AM

He has an animal-like magnetism and oozes sexuality. I find Delpo far hotter than all the ATP pretty boys like Thiem.

by Anonymousreply 29March 24, 2021 3:46 PM

yeah, true, Delpo is everything.

by Anonymousreply 30March 24, 2021 3:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 35March 24, 2021 8:10 PM

lmfao what the hell is Pospisil doing?

He's in a weird mood almost acting Paire

by Anonymousreply 36March 24, 2021 10:22 PM

Popsicle is having a meltdown at the end of the 1st set.

by Anonymousreply 37March 24, 2021 10:23 PM

OK Pospisil must be a right winger a la Djokovic

He's bitching to the umpire after he lost a point on set point as a result of code violation. He was bitching about a player meeting yesterday which has NOTHING to do with the umpire

by Anonymousreply 38March 24, 2021 10:25 PM

"Do you want to default me cuz I'll sue this entire organization" Pospisil just threatened the umpire with those words

the entitlement is of the charts for a guy who's never won a singles title. No one cares you've done well in doubles

by Anonymousreply 39March 24, 2021 10:27 PM

This was after Pospisil smashed a racket against the ground, demolished it after getting a point penalty, then called the umpire "a fucking asshole". Whiny prima donna needs a punch in the face.

Stephens FINALLY wins a match! Defeats Dodin in 3 sets. She had set points in the first set tiebreak but blew it and lost 6-8. Then was down 3-4 break point before winning the second set 6-4 and the third set 6-2

by Anonymousreply 42March 25, 2021 1:41 AM

Compelling, R42.

by Anonymousreply 43March 25, 2021 1:43 AM

[quote] OK Pospisil must be a right winger a la Djokovic

He was in league with Djokovic in that abortive attempt at a new players’ union. It’s no surprise Popsicle was doubles partner with fellow right winger Jack Sock.

by Anonymousreply 44March 25, 2021 1:44 AM

It's a fucking MIRACLE, r42!

by Anonymousreply 45March 25, 2021 1:44 AM

Other results:

Djere def. Vesely 6-3 5-7 6-1

McDonald def. Pospisil 6-3 4-6 6-3

Harris def. Nava 6-4 7-6

Duckworth def. M. Zverev 6-2 4-6 6-4 the last 2 sets were really back and forth multiple breaks

Cornet def. Kuznetsova 2-6 6-2 6-1

by Anonymousreply 46March 25, 2021 2:17 AM

R44, trying to form a new union makes you “right wing”? That’s a little counter-intuitive.

by Anonymousreply 47March 25, 2021 3:10 AM

Tiafoe def. Travaglia 5-7 6-4 6-2 last match of the day

by Anonymousreply 48March 25, 2021 4:33 AM

I sympathize with players' efforts to unionize for those who are barely making a living on the ATP tour, but for Pospisil, who's made over $6M in his career so far plus however much for commercial endorsements, etc., or Djokovic at $147M and probably over $200M with endorsements and appearance fees, it just comes across as right wing greed and the rich getting richer.

by Anonymousreply 49March 25, 2021 4:38 AM

I get so sad when Kuznetsova loses early. I remember when she was the "next big thing".

by Anonymousreply 50March 25, 2021 5:33 AM

for those wondering, Collins and Mladenovic actually hugged at the end of the match!

by Anonymousreply 60March 25, 2021 12:36 PM

1) tim mayotte WAS SO HOT back in the day... i remember when ESPN showed him winning the NCAA's and he was wearing the typical short shorts (white) and better yet? he wore NOTHING but a jockstrap underneath and as the match went on, those shorts became from sweat more see thru and more see thru to where you could both easily see the straps of his jockstrap AND ass skin! obscene it was so so damn hot!.....also i remember personally getting his autograph in the early 1980's while he was in the stands watching a match and he was very very nice and signed for me...

2) popsicle: so over the top ridiculous and jimmy courier and "cough cough" flamboyant bret haber making excuses for him (among their constant talking, babbling non stop!).. OH so so tough a life! OH so so tough of a struggle to go to meetings about possibly starting a new ATP union...

YEAH, FUCKING TALK TO BILLIE JEAN KING ABOUT HOW TOUGH IT IS! NOT TO MENTION billie jean actually being a top player and all time great unlike you popsicle! you know BJK had to worry about STARTING a woman's pro tour AND playing deep into the draws and winning grand slams!.UNLIKE YOU POPSICLE!.... add in chris evert and martina navratilova who were PRESIDENT of the WTA throughout their careers for the most part and also were having to worry about winning grand slams!....

but sure, popsicle going to a few meetings and winning only a match or two at at tournament is so so difficult a struggle mentally and physically! UH HUH...

R57 Rog has a piece of Coco Gauff and I'm certain that is HIS greedy motivation for a unified tour.

ANYONE ELSE sick of prakash amritraj!... comes across as both "smarmy" and "stupid" which is quite the combination... NEVER MIND more importantly, utter UTTER nepotism due to his last name! he's another patrick mcenroe, a below average player but because of his last name now he is a PAID tennis commentator, correspondent who gets to travel the world and comment on matches? because his qualifications are? journalism/broadcasting degree? years of working his way up the ladder? great long knowledge of the sport's history? nope, nope and nope!.. the guy was a failure as a player with a grand total of 53 matches as a pro, losing 33! and only playing a couple of years, highest ranking in the mid 150's... but hey, he's a former pro, so let's hire him TENNIS CHANNEL!...

sickening, that pretty much everyone here on this site and who posts comments on any tennis thread KNOW MORE AND ARE PROBABLY MORE EXPIENCED AND QUALIFIED than prakash amritraj!.. alexendra stevenson is another one commenting on the u.s. open last year?! WTF!..

by Anonymousreply 82March 27, 2021 6:21 AM

Daddy Cames at R82, young Grigor is being comforted by his young boyfriend. He is not interested in older men, especially not married closet cases. Just mentioning that in case, you know, the "fan" you're asking on behalf of is an older, married man.

by Anonymousreply 83March 27, 2021 6:30 AM

I'm so confused. I feel like young Grigor has been young for 10 years. Is he older than Joel?

He’s young compared to Cames.

by Anonymousreply 85March 27, 2021 7:08 AM

speaking of such things, berrettini needs to start donning the see thru white shorts with light blue bikini underwear look he sported at the u.s. open again! commentators were actually commenting then on his "looks" (i.e. hinting around his shorts being see thru from sweat)....

by Anonymousreply 120March 28, 2021 8:24 PM

Agree R119. Jesus, talk about some clean ball striking, it was something. And Sinner hits his groundies harder than Karen, unreal.

by Anonymousreply 121March 28, 2021 8:58 PM

I think Popyrin is kind of cute. Tall, big nose, seems like a sweetie.

by Anonymousreply 122March 28, 2021 9:34 PM

Wow I didn't see the Popyrin match but it was tighter than I expected!

by Anonymousreply 123March 28, 2021 10:36 PM

Popyrin has really upped his level this season and it's nice to see some younger guys start doing that. He gave Medvedev a very good match today and came up just short

by Anonymousreply 124March 29, 2021 12:46 AM

Andreescu def. Anisimova in 3 long sets but seems to be injured again lol. It won't surprise me if she pulls out of her match against Muguruza tomorrow but I hope she can play. That would be a fun match

by Anonymousreply 125March 29, 2021 2:07 AM

Great comeback by Tiafoe over Lajovic after being down 5-0 in the first set.

by Anonymousreply 126March 29, 2021 5:06 AM

Is Andreescu Lez? She looks butchtastic

Monday has a load of potentially good matches lined up

by Anonymousreply 129March 29, 2021 6:34 AM

Really looking forward to Barty v Azarenka.

by Anonymousreply 130March 29, 2021 6:46 AM

How did Kenin-Kardenne lose to the Jabore woman? Is Andrescu's body fucked up due to overtraining that she gets injured after playing two matches? Rena could have won this tourney if she had entered.

by Anonymousreply 131March 29, 2021 7:04 AM

Has Bibi pulled out of Monday’s match with Muga yet? I’m afraid her back might be injured. Great match between Bibi and Anisimova btw. Super tight for most of it.

Methinks Margaret Court at R128 doth protest too much. Everyone knows that the Wimbledon roll of honor changed the heading from Ladies Singles to Lezzies Singles in the Alice Marble era and it has remained that way since with the 0.2% of straight players like Miss Pencil Evert identified via asterisks. It will come as no surprise to anyone if it was revealed that Margaret is in a throuple with Wendy Turnbull and Spam Shriver.

by Anonymousreply 138March 29, 2021 2:25 PM

Please, Shapo made those comments while at a Russian tournament, his parents are Russian emigrants, he likely has some family still in Russia, the Russian tennis organization was likely trying to get him to play under the Russian flag, and Putin poisons people on the regular. I would have said the same things as Shapo did in his position to stay in everyone's good graces. Flatter your host.

by Anonymousreply 139March 29, 2021 5:14 PM

Will towel-boys ever come back?

by Anonymousreply 140March 29, 2021 5:48 PM

Shapo's caramel-colored henley is a good color for him.

by Anonymousreply 141March 29, 2021 5:53 PM

R83 who is that young boyfriend?

by Anonymousreply 142March 29, 2021 6:30 PM

why is it when Shapovalov yells after losing points on court, his scream sounds like he's still going through puberty? It doesn't sound like a fully formed man's voice. Very odd

by Anonymousreply 143March 29, 2021 7:16 PM

Uh, no, R139--it's the same as Isner and DJT. There's a difference between accommodating hostile political reality to the least extent possible, and embracing it with "my dream is to meet Vladimir Putin".

by Anonymousreply 144March 29, 2021 7:26 PM

Marton must be really really tired of finding Rublev everytime, the only young top player who is regular and gives his all in every match.

Musetti needs a lot to develop a game on hard courts, from the very young guns he is the most clay courter of all by far

by Anonymousreply 145March 29, 2021 8:12 PM

R145 In their last match in Dubai, at the end Fucsovics joked to Rublev that he hoped it was the last time he saw him for a while lol

Fucsovics has been in his best form this year but has been unlucky to keep running into Rublev. He will likely win at least 1 title this year if he keeps his form up. Rublev won't be at every tournament he plays

by Anonymousreply 146March 29, 2021 8:18 PM

R144 pretty much everyone on tour says Isner is very nice guy, and treats everyone with respect.

Your political obsession is tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 147March 29, 2021 8:58 PM

That's nice, R147. Call it obsession if that floats your boat. I just happen to believe that people's politics and support of despots does to a great extent reflect their level of "niceness". And if you've ever read Isner's tweets, you'd see that he's not all that nice. However, it's not my intent to derail this thread into a political discussion, so I'll just leave it at that.

Great win by Seb K, looking good in straight sets over Karatsev 6-3, 6-0!

by Anonymousreply 148March 29, 2021 9:27 PM

I hate Isner because of his game...and then the politics don't help

by Anonymousreply 149March 29, 2021 9:43 PM

[quote] Shapo's caramel-colored henley is a good color for him.

by Anonymousreply 150March 30, 2021 2:43 AM

And Bibi knocks out Mugu in 3. Bibi is looking a bit injured so let’s see if she can keep going. Hope so — she’s playing really well and is fun to watch.

by Anonymousreply 151March 30, 2021 4:25 AM

Muguruza came out firing in the first set but then Andreescu just got better and better as the match wore on. Muguruza was unable to do anything about it

by Anonymousreply 152March 30, 2021 5:43 AM

Andreescu looks like a chubby Jenn Brady

by Anonymousreply 153March 30, 2021 5:55 AM

I think frostbite would have set in if Mugu had been any icier when she met Andreescu at the net to concede Bianca's victory.

by Anonymousreply 154March 30, 2021 6:07 AM

R154 LOL So true. Mugu doesn’t like losing and she is an ice queen.. She also iced Naomi HARD at the AO when she lost to her. You could see Naomi literally blanch at the iciness.

by Anonymousreply 155March 30, 2021 6:23 AM

[quote] Andreescu looks like a chubby Jenn Brady

Sure, Jenn.

by Anonymousreply 156March 30, 2021 6:31 AM

I prefer Mugu's ice queen bitchiness to Naomi's fake ass nice girl act.

by Anonymousreply 157March 30, 2021 6:38 AM

Why do you think it's fake? So you think those are crocodile tears?

by Anonymousreply 158March 30, 2021 6:42 AM

R158, I find her a bit too earnest and too nice to be true. I think that deep down all players, male or female, are bitches who want to win at any cost and would slit an opponent's throat if they had to do it in order to win a major title. I prefer the players who are open about their desire to win instead of pretending that they just want to be BFFs with everyone on the tour.

My favorite player is Granny Vee who comes in, plays her match and gets out, without any of the BS drama about how her opponent is her best friend. I find Naomi's nice girl act completely fake.

by Anonymousreply 159March 30, 2021 6:56 AM

by Anonymousreply 165March 30, 2021 3:38 PM

thank goodness

RBA slays the dragon 6-3 4-6 7-6(7) Isner had 1 match point at 6-5 in the tiebreak. They both traded a couple minibreaks

by Anonymousreply 166March 30, 2021 5:36 PM

hurray! can you imagine Isner if he had arm problems and NO huge serve anymore? be lucky if he was ranked in what number?

by Anonymousreply 167March 30, 2021 5:39 PM

Taylor Fritz will be the new American #1, unless Tiafoe wins the title in Miami.

by Anonymousreply 168March 30, 2021 5:40 PM

Isner is now sliding out of the top 40. Hopefully this mens no more seeding at the Slams, and an even faster decline into retirement.

by Anonymousreply 177March 31, 2021 12:57 AM

This morning on Tennis Channel Andy Roddick was discussing the International Tennis Hall of Fame's reopening. I like his self-deprecating humor and ease. He could be a petulant ass when he was a player, but he makes a relaxed, insightful commentator.

by Anonymousreply 178March 31, 2021 3:11 AM

R178 — I wholeheartedly agree with you re Andy Roddick. I’m finding him to be delightful on TC LIVE and kind of unexpectedly— as like you I found his personality to be petulant and pouty. I like what he has to say.

by Anonymousreply 179March 31, 2021 9:00 AM

I've always liked Roddick. He's definitely one of the more intelligent players and doesn't take himself too seriously. He had a very impressive career considering the era he played in and who he was up against. I think a lot of people expect him to be some brash arsehole cos he was always compared to the more 'genteel' players of his day but he actually seems like a nice bloke.

by Anonymousreply 184March 31, 2021 5:34 PM

Looks like set 2 of Osaka v Sakkari is going to be as lopsided as set 1. I think Osaka is still going to win this, though.

by Anonymousreply 185March 31, 2021 5:44 PM

make no mistake-Roddick was a real asshole as a player. He would get very sarcastic and rude towards umpires, even linespeople and sometimes his opponents. He seems to have mellowed out in his retirement though and I don't mind him on Tennis Channel

by Anonymousreply 192March 31, 2021 9:03 PM

funnily enough, Ash Barty is married to a man. Sakkari no idea, but I get very slight Michi 'sausage' Rodriguez vibes but my gaydar is mediocre. The greek media likes to ship her with Tsitsipas.

by Anonymousreply 203April 1, 2021 12:19 AM

I hate it too but I fully expect Sorribes Tormo to be a factor in the clay season. She has no serve but the rest of her game should be well suited to clay.

by Anonymousreply 205April 1, 2021 12:40 AM

so now the top section is RBA vs. Sinner

bottom half is Rublev vs Korda and Tsitsipas vs. Hurkacz

at this point Rublev is the favorite followed by Tsitsipas but I wouldn't count anyone out except Hurkacz

R193 There's nothing better than a lavender relationship.

I find surprising that even now male players are pressured to have a girlfriend as soon as possible. I remember a journalist questioned about girlfriend to junior players (Alcaraz and Gimeno Valero) and some fans had a bad reaction when Musetti said he was too busy to have a girlfriend (but to be honest some fans seem to not like when young players are totally focused in the game, which is weird)

by Anonymousreply 213April 1, 2021 11:05 AM

Barty is getting married to a guy? I thought she was carrying on the grand tradition of lezzie Aussie players like Wenders Turnbull, Sam Stosur and Margaret Court. Was Yvonne Goolagong the only straight Aussie player?

by Anonymousreply 214April 1, 2021 11:10 AM

[quote] make no mistake-Roddick was a real asshole as a player. He would get very sarcastic and rude towards umpires, even linespeople and sometimes his opponents. He seems to have mellowed out in his retirement though and I don't mind him on Tennis Channel

Totally agree. Roddick was an entitled, arrogant douchebag when he was playing and a complete cunt. Let's not whitewash his past behavior just because he seems to have now come to terms with the cold hard truth about his true standing in the game. He lucked out by somehow winning his USO before Fed and Nadal started to dominate, otherwise he would be another journeyman like Pat McEnroe getting commentary gigs without any actual tennis accomplishments to back them up.

by Anonymousreply 215April 1, 2021 11:14 AM

Aaron Rogers and Barty should just beard for each other.

by Anonymousreply 216April 1, 2021 11:29 AM

R215.. exactly! pat mcenroe and mary carillo (due to her relationship with pat and john) should BOTH every morning when they wake up, get on their knees and look upwards thanking the universe, their last name is mcenroe and in mary's case, she was in the right place at the right time and won a french mixed doubles titles with john waaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1977....

add smarmy and stupid prakash amritraj to the train of nepotism in the tennis world...

by Anonymousreply 217April 1, 2021 1:08 PM

Except, R217, Mary Carillo and Pat McEnroe are both excellent broadcasters.

by Anonymousreply 218April 1, 2021 4:15 PM

R218 = Pat McEnroe, who fancies himself "an excellent broadcaster".

by Anonymousreply 219April 1, 2021 4:17 PM

Mary Carillo is great. I've only ever heard her on podcasts as she doesn't present in the UK but she knows what she's talking about and seems good fun.

As an aside, Daniela Hantuchova is an excellent broadcaster.

by Anonymousreply 220April 1, 2021 4:23 PM

When Mary comes out of the closet I’ll respect her a little more.

And I wish she’d stop chuckling at her own jokes.

And LAY OFF the tooth whitener!

by Anonymousreply 222April 1, 2021 5:11 PM

mary carillo is great? in what way? she doesn't describe tactics, thinks she's funnier than she is, and just love (sarcasm) her deep sincere voice when she is talking about something "important'... never mind, she also DOES NOT know tennis history.. regularly she gets her facts wrong..

pat mcenroe is great? in what way? doesn't add anything to any broadcast and like his brother john, loves to yap, yap and yap some more....

you want to know what's great in tennis broadcasting? the late great maskell! john barrett! virginia wade! all who are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about tennis past and tennis present and WHO KNOW WHEN TO TALK AND WHEN TO SHUT UP! THEY KNOW IT'S NOT ABOUT THEM BUT THOSE PLAYING! unlike every other tennis commentator here in the u.s.!

by Anonymousreply 226April 1, 2021 8:26 PM

Tsitsilas never fails to disappoint

Speaking of broadcasters I like Martina

by Anonymousreply 227April 1, 2021 8:31 PM

I'm hoping RBA can win this one. He's been playing consistently well all year and deserves this one. Really got under Medvedev's skin yesterday.

by Anonymousreply 228April 1, 2021 8:32 PM

I would love for RBA to win also. He deserves it. Have we decided if Korda is a trumpster? The way his mother and father wear the mask makes me suspicious. I like his game a lot.

by Anonymousreply 231April 1, 2021 9:24 PM

you just want to inject hate

by Anonymousreply 232April 1, 2021 9:33 PM

It's not hateful to wonder what players think or feel in addition to how they play, nor is it hateful to agree or disagree with them.

by Anonymousreply 233April 1, 2021 9:37 PM

We have no right to talk about their sexuality anymore, straight fraus own this forum.

by Anonymousreply 234April 1, 2021 9:51 PM

HI R225.. R223 here.. do tell how i am either slightly insane and/or stupid because??

by Anonymousreply 235April 1, 2021 9:53 PM

Team Seb or Team Rublev?

I'm seriously torn.

by Anonymousreply 236April 1, 2021 10:07 PM

Tsitsipas has a very up and down season in terms of mental toughness this first quarter of the season. He survived choking moments during his AO match against Kokkinakis and came back from a losing position against Nadal.

In his last 2 tournaments though, he completely fell apart after starting off in great form. He was absolutely owning Zverev in the Acapulco final for the first 5 games and had a chance at a double break then, ended up losing in straight sets. Today he was up a set, a break and a chance for a double break before things fell apart.

Maybe changing over to clay will give him a chance to reset mentally.

Rublev has to be the clear favorite now

by Anonymousreply 237April 1, 2021 10:11 PM

Why does Med have such a problem with RBA? Because RBA is so fast?

by Anonymousreply 238April 1, 2021 10:16 PM

R238 Medvedev seems to have more trouble against the very fast, consistent counter punchers than he does power players and shotmakers. He owns Tsitsipas and Rublev but struggles against RBA, Nadal and while he's beaten Djokovic, lost in a big way at the AO to him.

Medvedev himself is capable of hitting the ball hard but most of the time he chooses not to. He has almost a Murray style of play (minus the good net play). When he's the one forced to go for winners, he's not comfortable.
