holy shit Georgia is razor thin
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 5, 2020 11:07 PM |
CNN is just ripping Trump about that press conference. Asking when the GOP will have an intervention.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 5, 2020 11:07 PM |
That news conference was so bad and pathetic that it was unintentionally funny to me.
And you have to know, I NEVER laugh at Trump.
Until tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 5, 2020 11:08 PM |
Dana Bash finally says what we all knew- Trump was setting this all up for months. He set up his voters not to vote by mail so he could call the Democratic mail-in votes a fraud. He wants to litigate to get it to the Supreme Court. It was a set-up. Welcome to the obvious, Dana.

Hey republican party, I think you need to come and collect your sore loser president about now.
he's rambling, causing problems and frankly, we need the room.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 5, 2020 11:10 PM |
Oh he's going to win r11. Its the Senate races we now have to worry about.

NBC, ABC and CBS all dipped out of the Trump presser
Again, the fuckers should've been doing this from 2015 onwards.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 5, 2020 11:10 PM |
People were civil before, but once Biden is announced, he will be cancer. Twitter will finally delete him and delete all his tweets, nobody will touch him. Fox news already jumped the sinking ship.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 5, 2020 11:10 PM |

Nate Cohn on GA:
Trump's lead in Georgia now under 4000 votes after Chatham absentees report. Might still be about 20000 votes left throughout the state, based on the earlier tallies from the secretary of state. Hard to think Biden wouldn't find another 3700 votes
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 5, 2020 11:14 PM |
Even Santorum is being critical. "Dangerous" to suggest there's illegality without evidence.

We want to our fellow Americans to have medical care, To survive corona virus, To survive global warming/climate crisis. We are so nice. We have empathy for THEM.
The Republican Party wants them all to die. They want them to die a horrific death from corona virus. Trump/Republicans want to work them to death.

What's the Dems strategy for that?

It does have its satisfactory aspects.

[quote] So you're saying that it is impossible for an updated Fairness Doctrine to be introduced and passed?
It would be pretty much impossible to update the Fairness Doctrine to include cable TV. The FCC only regulates broadcast TV, not cable, under the justification that broadcast TV uses the public airwaves (over the air transmission), whereas cable does not. There are decades of legal precedent behind that. You could try to include cable in a new, updated Fairness Doctrine, but, first of all, it would never be passed, and second, it would get struck down.

What's the Dems strategy for that?
The strategy is that he will need to PROVE there were illegal votes. He won't be able to, because there is no evidence. The Supreme Court can't just decide something in Trump's favor simply because he wants them to. That's not how this works. That's now how any of this works.

Meanwhile, back at Democrat HQ, the infighting has already started....
Seems Abigail Spanberger ripped the progressives a new one today about "defund the police" and how it almost cost her the election and probably cost lots of other people the election as well.
As one might expect, this did not go over well with progressives.
In Spanberger's defense, I think many of us on DL were cringing at the terminology too, especially when the message was less about money for the police and more about not having them handle situations they were not meant to handle which would free them up to do more important things.
[article was from The Hill which we can't link to on DL, but Google "Democrats' post-election 'family meeting' descends into chaos" and you'll find it.

If “we are going to run on Medicare for All, defund the police, socialized medicine, we're not going to win," House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) warned on the caucus call, according to three people listening....
But Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, jumped on the call to defend liberal ideas, saying that’s what keeps the Democratic base motivated to turn out and vote.
“If we don't keep these folks engaged … we will lose again in 2024, and we may lose again in the next midterm,” Jayapal told Democrats on the call, according to two people who dialed in.

Take that OHIO.

So here's where we stand: depending on the network, we have either five or six states not called (with Arizona called by AP and Fox and not by anyone else). Let's assume that it's six uncalled.
Trump must win Pennsylvania and he must win any four of the remaining five states. If he does this, he wins. That is his only path to victory.
If Biden wins Pennsylvania, he wins. If Biden loses Pennsylvania but wins any two of the other states, he wins.
As matters stand right now, Biden is likely to win both Pennsylvania and Nevada. Georgia and Arizona are coming right down to the wire but both are very slightly favored to go to Biden, with margins that are likely to result in recounts. Alaska and North Carolina will likely go to Trump.
The bottom line is that unless something completely unexpected happens in Pennsylvania, there is a high probability that Biden will be the next President.

I was just thinking 70 million people voted for that orange fucker. They looked back at the last 4 years and thought he deserved 4 more. But what upsets me the most is out of that 70 million, if you subtract the 41% who has been his reliable base, that gets you down to about 41 million people who are secret or "shy" Trump voters or just plain assholes. I think it's time to start naming mother fucking names. Out these rats.

R547 So much of the messaging from BLM has been awful. And I say this as someone who does support the policies, but god, the way they presented them was so fucking stupid. It's a big problem I have with the left, is it seems we only ever want to talk to ourselves; or we want to campaign to the electorate we wish existed, rather than the one which actually does.

I think the problem is Dems who call other Dems stupid instead of attacking Republicans.

What's the kompromat on Cruz? At this point, I'm assuming the only ones who are still rabid supporters are the blackmailed ones.

It's time for some Republican lawmakers to gang up on Pence and demand he invoke the 25th Amendment before Trump burns down the White House or gets us into a war.

If Georgia is the first of the remaining states to declare a winner of the Presidential election in that state, FOXNEWS will be the ONLY network to declare Biden the new President.
CNN says Biden has 253 EV + Georgia 16 = 269 EV. Close, but no cigar.
FoxNews says Biden has 264 EV + Georgia 16 = 280 EV. DING DING DING DING DING DING.
Weird that they could be first to declare Biden Prez.

Pennsylvania, Trump’s margin in the state is down to 42,000 — with at least 208,000 ballots left to count
Georgia, where the margin has shrunk to 1,902 votes. The secretary of state’s office has said that 16,105 ballots remain to be counted.
