You will be hearing it here first: in addition to the coveted role of Kay, I will also be re-creating the role of Marge Cotrooke. Marge never died in the accident. They recovered her body, but she was merely blackout drunk. She hatched a scheme with the funeral director and coroner to fake her death and reemerge to steal the Chancellor fortune. Marge has been roaming the Midwest since we last saw her. When Marge receives word that Kay is actually alive and had been on ice (courtesy of Esther) in the Chancellor basement, she seizes the opportunity to return to Genoa City. Naturally, her first stop will be the bar at Genoa City’s premiere dining establishment. Before production ceased in March, Tony Morina asked me to fit for Marge’s wardrobe.
I have few details at the moment, but I am overjoyed to resurrect not one, but two timeless characters from the Young and Restless canon. William J. and Lee Phillip Bell are smiling down at me.

That would be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Can't stand the character of Esther - she was marginally fine providing some comic relief with Mrs. C. but as they've integrated her more into the cast and storylines it's painful. The woman cannot act. When she starts to fake cry I turn the show off.

Tuesday, July 21 --- Kay views her facelift, Dina becomes suspicious of Ashley, and Victor and Nikki’s relationship is put to the test. Meanwhile, Cricket starts her modeling career at Jabot. (March 28, 1984)
Wednesday, July 22 --- Newlyweds Neil and Dru celebrate their union with family and friends. Michael plots his revenge against Cricket. (March 12, 1993)
Thursday, July 23 --- Katy Perry is center stage at Restless Style, as Jill needles Gloria. Adam pleads his case to Victor. (June 6, 2008)

Was Victor impotent or did he have a vasectomy in today's ep?
by Anonymous | reply 90 | July 21, 2020 6:23 PM |
R90 Neither.
During the showdown with Rick Daros in St. Croix -- where Victor, Paul, and Andy had to go to save Nikki -- Rick ended up shooting Victor with a SCUBA gun, and the spear hit him in the groin damaging the goods, so he couldn't get it up any longer.
As I recall, there's a subsequent episode where Victor and Nikki are riding in the back seat of his Rolls Royce, and he suddenly realizes that things are working again ... onscreen hardon.

by Anonymous | reply 96 | July 21, 2020 9:11 PM |
Dina was a part that needed a better actress than Marla Adams. It wasn't well written to begin with, so it needed somebody who could take dross and spin it into something. Adams is an adequate actress who could be relied on to get the job done. Dina was a character who was whipped up on the fly when everybody realized the long lost mother story had some legs, thanks to Dynasty and Joan Collins. The character has become more interesting in the last two years when Dina's backstory when hardcore. From bored wealthy wife of to prehistoric Sharon Collins Sex Drive Thru.

by Anonymous | reply 100 | July 22, 2020 2:45 AM |
Lorie showed up in Dec 73 right before Christmas and to be home for her sister Chris's wedding. Jaime was a hit right away, sexy and so unlike her other sisters. Those 4 actresses had great chemistry together.

by Anonymous | reply 102 | July 22, 2020 4:36 AM |
R101
So how many months was that before Lorie arrived? 3 months? That's a long time to hold off on such a firebrand. She arrived and it was an instant jolt. I wonder if her arrival was delayed because they were trying to find just the right actress.?
by Anonymous | reply 103 | July 22, 2020 11:52 AM |
It was 9 months! They talked and talked about her. Jen would have flashbacks of being separated from Stuart when Leslie was a year old - and she allowed herself to be seduced by Bruce Henderson. It was obvious that Bruce was Lorie;s father even before Lorie showed up.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | July 22, 2020 12:52 PM |
Interesting that both Katherine Chancellor and Lorie Brooks arrived on screen in Dec. 1973.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | July 22, 2020 1:51 PM |
Now that is something I would like to see - Chancellor's first episode. How did they establish that character?
I'd like to see Dina's original return.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | July 22, 2020 2:05 PM |
One thing that's struck me is how cartoonish Jill became. From the poor but decent girl from the wrong side of the tracks, through victim of Chancellor's wrath through Alexis wannabe to loud, braying harpie who says Darlin' for no particlar reason 'cep it sounds.... like I dunno what.
Her clothes in every flashback have generally been a nightmare... Jess Walton would really put up with anything. Today she is at Neil and Drucilla's wedding and if photographer yelled who are you wearing the answer would be Minnie Pearl for Dress Barn.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | July 22, 2020 2:07 PM |
The "Kay-like character" was reworked.
The original plan was for the "Regina Henderson" character to be the resident high-strung, sexually-frustrated upper-class woman. As Bruce's wife, she was Jill's aunt by marriage. The planned story was that Regina would seduce and have an affair with one of her son's friends. At this stage of development, Bruce and Regina had two sons, Mark and Russell. Russell was meant to be the Henderson's younger son -- 17 going on 18, more Jill's age -- so one can imagine that it was more than likely going to be one of Russell's friends, and he and Jill would have been involved with each other. In any event, like crazy Kay, Regina was eventually going to attempt suicide as well. So it's easy to see the similarities.
This further development of The Henderson Family was dropped entirely. Regina didn't figure that much at all, and Russell was never seen. Even Bruce and Mark didn't last long after Lorie's paternity reveal. But originally, The Hendersons were supposed to be as significant as The Brooks and Fosters.

On today's Y&R repeat from 1994. These two queens who were impressed by Victoria's magazine spread and said they could make money off it, who were they? Who are the actors playing them? They look familiar.
I wasn't watching Y&R in 1994, so have no idea what this plot is about.

R123 I have no idea who the two actors are, but these short-term characters names names are "Glen" and "Alec". Glen is the dark-haired one, while Alec is the blond. They work for Two Hearts Publications, which publishes a men's magazine akin to "Playboy" called "Esprit de Corps."
This minor arc involves Bitchtoria being approached by talent scout, Glen, to pose nude for a centerfold in the magazine. Since our bratty Princess was looking for a way to get back at husband Cole and assert her independence from King Victor, she agrees. Cole finds out what she's up to and pays the men off to not publish the photo spread, but they go ahead with it anyway, and Victoria soon becomes "Miss September". When Victor finds out, he tries to put a stop to it by buying the entire publishing firm -- throwing Glen and Alec out on their butts in the process. YAGOTHAT?!
Victor also makes arrangements to get all the copies of the magazine that have been shipped to newsstands taken out of circulation, yet he's too late and some have already been purchased with others being mailed to subscribers. I remember one of the Genoa City characters who had a personal copy was "Jed Sanders" (Josh Taylor), who played a contractor involved with Victoria's mother, Nikki, at the time. And not too long ago, they aired another classic episode where we saw Flo Webster and Nina looking at Ryan's copy of the magazine.
As I recall, this story was referenced a few years ago when Victoria's teenage son, Twink Reed, had been caught using his mother's credit card to access adult content on the 'Net. When she scolded him about it, he took a swipe at her about the fact that she herself had posed naked for a centerfold. when she was barely older than him.

I would like the character of Devon to just die at this point. I cannot stand him. Beyond annoying and undeservingly royal. Anything to do with the Phoenix Hotel is FF material for me. As well as any scenes with Victor mumbling and grumbling his way through lines.
I like Theo and think he has possibility but they really should have made him full-on gay.

It's amazing how much I have NOT missed this show.
Watching the repeats has been fun. Great to see the old episodes, especially those from the 80s and 90s. However, that's just been a interesting time capsule. It hasn't made me at all curious about what the characters are doing today.
With luck, the show has used the downtime to re-imagine some stories and what we see on screen starting Monday will be more compelling .
by Anonymous | reply 155 | August 7, 2020 10:33 PM |
I haven't read anything too compelling. .. The only thing i find somewhat interesting is the notion that psych graduate, Sharon, might become Adam's counselor to help him come to terms with his killing the guy when he was a kid. It's a totally lame set up for sure, but anything with those two works for me. .. I can think of one kind of therapy I'd like to see her give him.
And the spoiler about Aunt Jack & Sister Traci working to discover John & Dina's Love Story sounds downright AWFUL. Really? More made-up B.S. from the past? .. Who cares? .. It would be more interesting if the siblings were to find another reason why their parents' marriage failed. .. How 'bout they discover that Young John was fucking Brent Davis, the bisexual golf pro at the country club, as well? .. I mean, if they're going to keep making things up, can't they at least make it juicy and scandalous? .. Young Brent could be a1960s version of a heteroflexible InstaHo. .. Let the casting begin! .. We'll need a flashback of Young Dina walking in on them. .. lol! .. Knowing Dina, though, she'd probably want to join them.

Hate to break it to you but they did not use the down time to reboot the show. In the SOD JG gave a big interview about being back.
He said they had a month's worth of scripts complete when they shut down. He said they did not change anything except go in & redline any touching/kissing. They also shifted (when possible) location of scenes to places that would allow them to shoot from a greater distance.
The storylines he profiled were mindnumbingly dull. He did say he & TM had meetings with CBS/SONY where the suits wanted to zero in on each character on canvas, their purpose & the direction of the show.

The Locher Room had an interview this afternoon with former ATWT writers. Susan Dansby said she was temporarily stepping into YR to help. She is so talented! Why can't CBS/Sony dump JG and give Dansby the HW job?
by Anonymous | reply 159 | August 8, 2020 2:07 AM |
[quote]Why can't CBS/Sony dump JG and give Dansby the HW job?
Dansby is an excellent writer. She was on ATWT and has been on Y&R as well. But perhaps she doesn't want the HW job and all the accompanying headaches. Maybe she's content to just be a script writer.
If Y&R hasn't used this time to re-evaluate the show and try to get it back on track, then there's something seriously wrong with EP Tony Morina. And apparently the show is also ignoring its fan mail.
If CBS still had an exec overseeing daytime, perhaps that exec would be pushing the show to tell more compelling stories . But Angela McDaniel isn't there anymore to do that. And that's a very bad omen for things to come.
When P&G eliminated Mary-Alice Dwyer Dobbin as the executive overseeing its shows in 2004, that's when GL and ATWT started declining rapidly. With MADD gone, the final say for GL and ATWT belonged to Ellen Wheeler and Christopher Goutman, respectively. And we know how well that went.

Dansby tweeted that she has been given a "6 week trial run" at YR. That makes me go WTF??
Someone with her resume shouldn't have a trial period if she's going to be a scriptwriter or breakdown writer. On the other hand,I could see it if it's a trial run & she will step in & become HW if JG can't right the sinking ship.

Monday's show is mainly recap meant to bring viewers up to speed on the main storylines. Lily interviews characters at the Chancellor Park in relation to yet one more Kay Chancellor celebration, and in the process, each of these characters has flashbacks from scenes that aired before the hiatus.
It's odd seeing everyone stand about 10 feet away from one another while delivering their lines. But what's even more odd is having Lily record video of these interviews on her phone. She's supposed to be this executive at a premier communications firm. You'd think she and Billy would have a camera-audio crew on staff to accompany them to PR events. It just looks rather silly for her to be standing there with her arm outstretched recording them on her phone the whole time ... lol! .. Gee, they could have used one of the actual camera guys already there on set to pretend to be this worker bee.
I also wonder how the Billy-Lily relationship as well as the Nate-Amanda one can progress much with these couples not able to show any intimacy? .. Phone sex? .. lol! .. This will be really odd. .. Oh well, at least they're trying.
On another note, Heinle (Victoria) must be doing her own hair. It looks horrible.
And in the preview for Tuesday, when Aunt Jack tells Ashley that Dina blurted out something about "Bixley," I was waiting for Ashley to say, "I think you mean, 'Pixley', Jackie. Mother's nurse told me 'Petticoat Junction' is her favorite show to watch. She has a thing for Steve Elliott."

I wouldn’t trust Casiello. I believe that he did a trial run of writing a few breakdowns, hoping it turned into a contract and it didn’t so he’s trying to save face by claiming that he’s not writing the show NOW. But he wrote those outlines a few months ago. He’s a liar.

R179 Ok. So Casiello wrote those scripts that he’s being credited for. Notice that he’s not saying he didn’t write the scripts. He’s just saying that he’s not back at Y&R. He tried to get back and they let him write a few episodes and then didn’t offer him a full time gig. He’s lying when he implies that his name being credited is an error.

I saunter into the Abbott living room and stumble upon the Ashley character. She is lamenting poor choices regarding Jabot or some such nonsense. I say “you know, my dear, my greatest friend John Abbott always referred to you as ‘his beauty.’” This scene will be a cliffhanger for the ages. It is amusing. So of the social distancing is awkward. Characters should by physically closer given the situation on screen but they aren't.
Contrast that with GH which really isn't making any attempt at social distancing at all. From a story perspective, GH feels more natural since the characters are physically closer. But at the same time, I worry for the actors having to be so close to the other actors without wearing a mask.
by Anonymous | reply 202 | August 14, 2020 3:30 AM |
ugh. They have Adam and Sharon social-distancing as well. Maybe they don't want to set them apart from how the other characters are being depicted, because it would telegraph that they'll eventually hook-up, so they want to leave it for suprise love scene (hoping). With the actors who play DuhVon and Elena, the intimacy is appropriate, because the characters are already in a relationship.

R214. Agreed. The show just lags. I’m unsure where the Adam thing is going, but it’s just so boring. So he killed the guy at 11, now what? Phyllis and Abby? Really dumb. The old Phyllis would eat Abby for breakfast. Pairing her with Nick again? Been there done that a trillion times. Devon and his chick I instantly fast forward through. Sharon and her glamorous cancer is beyond ridiculous. Never could stand Kevin so he’s fast forward bait too. I like Mariah but her lez romance is coma inducing too. Kill Dina off. Please. The audience needs something compelling to watch.
by Anonymous | reply 216 | August 14, 2020 9:46 PM |
Griffith likes to make up stories from a past we didn't see, then simply tell us about things that happened. This type of expository writing is like reading a book. Ho hum.
An example: Dina had an affair with Stuart Brooks resulting in Mr. Vanderway being born and Theo coming a generation later. Another one was that Simon Black escapade where baddie Simon showed up wanting his money that he says Chelsea's dead husband, Calvin, had that belonged to Simon. Double ho-hum. Actually, triple ho-hum since Chelsea herself is a total bore. .. And oh, btw, Chance just happens to already be on a case for the feds that involves Simon, and oh btw, when Simon is eventually nabbed, he says he can give them info about Colin stealing Devon's money. We didn't see any of that either. Same with Amanda and the forged will. .. It just goes on and on and on.
The latest unseen yarn that we're only hearing about is this thing with 11-year old Adam protecting Hopeless from being killed by loan shark, Montalvom who wanted the money he'd loaned to stepfather, Cliff.
by Anonymous | reply 217 | August 14, 2020 11:41 PM |
I don't give a shit about current day Adam. WTF should I care about something that happened off camera when he was 11?
by Anonymous | reply 218 | August 15, 2020 12:24 AM |
The whole thing about 11-year old Adam is a stupid, boring set-up. Who cares if the kid killed an evil loan shark who was going to hurt his blind mother? Is Griffith unaware that Adam more than likely got bone-marrow recipient, Richard Hightower killed, so that he could fake his own death via a faulty DNA test? There was little upset over that, so why should he care about an evil loan shark who deserved it?
Dear gawd in heaven .. Just get to the epiphany that leads to Shadam having explosive sex. That would be the only reason to watch.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | August 15, 2020 12:55 AM |
The least they could’ve done is stretch the Adam thing out. I have to admit I miss Victor being a total bastard. He could’ve let Adam think he was in the catbird seat for awhile and then eventually told him he was the murderer while cooking up some revenge on him for blackmailing Victor to get control of Newman. He’s let Adam off the hook way too many times. Victor screwed over all his children many times anyway. There’s just no dramatic build up to these storylines anymore.

I thought the intro of the Rosales famikly was clunky, at best, but looking back, at least Mal tried to inject some new blood into this shitshow. Watching the same characters have the same conversations for what seems like decades is painful. Every time I have to see Crimson Lights or Sharon's hobbit house I want to scream.

[quote] Watching the same characters have the same conversations for what seems like decades is painful
And that's the problem. There's no one for them to talk to about anything different. Look at the empty shell of everyone's lives. Jack, Ashley and Traci have nothing to do but babble about mother. They have no lives, no love, nothing. What was the point about the movie camera story? Theo should have a scheming sister who comes to town and wants her share of the Mergeron millions.
I wonder if COVID won't finish off the genre. It was twenty odd years ago the OJ trial damaged it massively... maybe the restraints (fiscal and physical) of story telling during COVID will be the end of it. Funnily it could be like going back to early soaps. There was a lot of talk back then, but not we're addicted to plot and pace, which they don't want to cast for and they don't want to build sets for and they definitely can't write for. What's to watch?

Anybody listen to the Soap Digest podcast with Stafford and Morrow? They really are two frat boy hommies. He has a clear preference for Nick/Phyllis and basically said that Nick didn't come alive until he fell in love with Phyllis, and the characters are who they should be when they're together. When he was with Sharon he didn't know how to live blah blah blah. I guess sex on the floor is his character's idea of living.
Anyway they come off like two morons, just like they do on the show.

I am not taking Stafford's side but I doubt the spit had anything to do with race. Victoria Rowell seemed to be one of the most despised actors ever on that set. They would never bring her back and she seemed willing.
by Anonymous | reply 247 | August 17, 2020 3:43 AM |
Dru's exit was specifically written (by LML), so that they COULD bring her character back. She was presumed dead, but no body found. It was a Soap 101 set-up. And there was no real funeral, because Neil didn't feel his wife was dead, so they celebrated her life instead. We even know that MAB supposedly reached out to her about returning, but she said something about not taking the call, because she ridiculously thought MAB was dissing her in some way, because she wasn't going through her agent or something! She went on to screw herself with the stupid bedtime stories about fellow cast members (just to sell a few more bools) ... and then the lawsuits came. .. These days, it seems like she's calmed down to some degree. Someone has suggested the possibility of new meds?

Reeves broke her contract. She didn't sue her employer and go to every microphone in the free world to bad mouth her employer. VR did and has done it for years.
And don't forget. VR quit her job. She makes it sound like she was wrongfully fired. WTF would they bring her back when she has been a headache for them since she left? I'm talking about CBS/Sony not YR.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | August 17, 2020 12:37 PM |
R248 I specifically don't get the idea that MAB was being disrespectful by not going through the agent. Going directly to the actor is a sign of respect, isn't it? Doesn't it show they are very important?
R251 I agree you don't get hired back after suing your former employer and going around calling them and all your former co-workers racists.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | August 17, 2020 4:14 PM |
R252 Exactly. No one who knows anything about Hollywood mechanics understood what she was talking about when she told that "story" about MAB on twitter. Deals in Hollywood are made all the time, where first contact by a producer-diirector is casual, where they're just feeling an actor out and checking schedules etc. to find out if the actor is even interested in taking or reprising a role .. especially if the actor already has a working relationship with TPTB. But somehow she was trying to tell her followers that not going through her agent was unprofessional and showed a lack of respect. RME.

by Anonymous | reply 259 | August 19, 2020 4:19 AM |
So what's the story? Mel's too cheap to hire her own personal hairdresser to do her hair at home before driving to work?
Since it's a customary for her employer to provide this service for her job, I'm sure it would be considered an acceptable tax-deductible work expense.
In comparison, ED looked great.

It's been awhile, but CBS actually issued a press release about last week's ratings:
[quote] For the week ending Friday, August 14, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL attracted 2.45 million viewers – the daytime drama’s largest audience since its return to original episodes on July 20. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS also returned to originals last week with 2.69 million viewers. --- Source: Nielsen, live plus same day ratings for the week ending Friday, August 14.
They've got a long way to go. Before the hiatus, Y&R was hovering around 4 million, and B&B was usually around 3.2 million.

At one point several years ago on the show, I remember MTS’s hair was done up practically like a frosted vanilla cremee. It was whipped and whisked on top of her head within an inch of its life. It was absurd. IIRC, I think she was wearing a green velvet number that made her look like something between a madame and a manager at Santa’s workshop.

Today's wig was actually a major improvement over the first one. I wonder if she maybe had some sort of hair disaster during quarantine, that they are having to cover up. R291 Yes, they are, but I'm not sure if Grossman and Case are actually living together like the actors who play Devon and Elena, nor do we know what they did during the quarantine. The show may have needed to discuss their real-life relationship status and outside behavior with them, etc. .. Plus, until they (possibly) hook-up, showing Adam and Sharon being more intimate with one another than they are with their respective fictional partners (Chelsea and Rey) would kinda stick out from what we're seeing with everyone else (jmho). Conversely, Devon and Elena are already a couple on the show, so it basically works with them.

R296 Know-It-All Traci almost immediately figured out that "Bixley" was actually "Bixby" - which was John's nickname for his old, home movies camera called a "Bixomatic." .. So the Abbott kids dug out some old home movies to show Dina.
Maybe if they'd dug deeper, they would have uncovered the homemade porn Young John filmed with Stuart Brooks, Phillip Chancellor, Neil Fenmore, and those two blue-collar tops, Carl Williams and Frank Lewis, up at The Abbott Cabin when they'd all go on those long-weekend fishing trips together.

The poster upthread who described the show as just a series of “scenes” was dead-on. There’s no build-up to anything. There is no tension. It’s all just characters talking about...something. And this Nick & Phyllis 2.0 storyline has no spark whatsoever. Playing a video game on their phones on either sideS of a hotel room is not exactly riveting television.
Also, didn’t Nikki, Victor, and Phyllis have a series of spas called “NVP” several years ago? Nikki acting like Phyllis doesn’t know her tastes seems to go against show history.
Also, I see that MTS has her original hair back. She seemed less perturbed and anal in yesterday’s episode.

I'd give 'em break; they're trying to deal with the pandemic.
I will say, though, that they should up the ante another way -- like picking up the scene the following day showing us Theo sleeping naked in the bed (alone, of course) with the top sheet barely covering his junk. .. Since they can't show much intimacy due to the social distancing requirements, the lest they could do is up the sexy factor by showing us some skin. Examples:
When Adam is having his flashback dreams about what happened in Kansas, why not show him shirtless in bed writhing around in his bikini briefs, then get up and walk to the wndow where we'd get full silhouette?
When Rey comes downstairs to talk to Sharon, why not have him first appear at the foot of the stairs, still with his shower towel wrapped around his waist, and drying his hair. When the scene picks up, he can be stuffing his junk in his jeans and zipping them up, then flashing his pits while he puts a tight t-shirt on
And hell ... It's suppose to be summer! Hot August. It would be just as easy for the actors to social distance by showing them sitting at the edge of pool with their feet dangling in the water. And if they can't build a pool set right now, then make it look like they're sitting by the pond out at the Chancellor Park. JaBottom, Theo, Nate, Chance ... we should be seeing all of them shirtless as they pose in some fashionable square cut swimwear and short trunks.
This ain't rocket science.

JaBottom...doesn’t look good. He needs a haircut and some variance in wardrobe.

I got hard just reading your description of Rey.

The guy playing "Dan" was channeling André Leon Talley, minus the caftan.
But the scene served to point out how unreal Griffin's business storyline with CEO Victoria is. .. Several times in the past, we've seen scenes featuring the Newman Board of Directors. Surely, Victoria's move to sell-off huge chunks of the company would have had to have been presented to the board, with all the all the pros and cons hashed out and voted upon in advance. Rumblings of this would have made it to the financial press and no one would be shocked or surprised, least of all Victor or people like Dan. And if approved, Victoria's "bold moves" would have had the backing of the board, and she wouldn't have to be defending herself now. That's how it works.

It’s sooooo boring.

R326 R327 Which is inexcusable. The ONE thing I've always associated Y&R with was fun and exciting corporate stories.
by Anonymous | reply 328 | September 3, 2020 1:06 AM |
R328 Exactly! .. One of the show's taglines was always something like, "The Young & the Restless .. Where the Newman and Abbott dynasties stir it up in the bedroom and the boardroom." .. lol! .. And Bill Bell had his Chicago attorney friend (Sherman) Magidson) whom he and later Alden/Smith would consult with when doing business and/or legal stories.
Another thing .. It seems rather unbelievable that Victoria would dump Newman's cosmetic division. While Victoria developed Brash & Sassy when she worked at Jabot, she always considered it HER baby. Even when Jack FINALLY obtained the leverage to get Jabot out from under the Newman Enterprises umbrella, one of the conditions was that Brash & Sassy would not be part of the sell-back and would remain with NE because it was considered Victoria's baliwick. No way would she sell this off.

The beard makes Noah look even older, heavier - which comes off odd in a scene with Adam accentuating the detail that Mark Grossman is actually younger than Robert Adamson.
Once they opted to introduce Mariah as Cassie's twin, they should have considered a Noah recast, since he's supposed to be her younger brother. And given that she's about 30, he should look more 25, not 35.

I would love a passing reference to when Adam seduced Rafe in 2009. It was heavily implied onscreen that Adam blew him in order to keep the whole Ashley gaslighting under wraps when he was living at the Newman ranch.

R331 Stay tuned. .. Seeing Adam's profile on Grindr, Rafe shows up at Adam's cum dump motel room to provide his own brand of psychotherapy for our tortured antihero.

The show is fucking awful. If they aren't going to fire JG then they just need to tell him to wrap up the show & end it.

Days is so much better right now than this totally boring shit.
by Anonymous | reply 334 | September 3, 2020 9:30 PM |
I enjoyed Nikki calling out The Grifter from Myanmar. Can this useless character just die? Chelsea's more boring that Sage was.
I'm still laughing at how they can't even come up with a way to have bartender or waiter milling around the background in scenes at Society, Crimson Lights, etc. Are these places self-serve now? .. lol! .. I assume the crew have to be tested for COVID regularly as well. Using one of them as an extra would be better than no one.

I always thought they fucked

They did.

R336, I would love to know that definitively. I’m pretty sure it was mid-to-late June 2009.

Viewers can imagine whatever they want, because they didn't show anything.
I believe some think oral sex, because when they picked up the scene, we saw Adam wipe his mouth with his hand. If it was supposed to mean something, it was really rather vague.
As for whether they fucked, they both appeared to be putting their clothes back on, which may not have been required, if they'd simply had oral sex. Plus, after Adam shooed Rafe out the door, he rushed to the bathroom to take a shower. Again, not really required, if they'd just had oral sex. Plus, Adam called up girlfriend Heather begging her to come over, so he could fuck her RIGHT NOW, as if he needed to undo what he'd just done with Rafe. These actions are equally vague and may or may not mean anything. either.

Did Adam and Rafe only hook up once? Rafe was cute
by Anonymous | reply 340 | September 4, 2020 12:22 AM |
R340 We know they had sex at least once, and there was a second time that where it was heavily implied.
What happens the second time is that Rafe has learned something about Adam's "story" that doesn't make sense, so he goes to see Adam to quiz him about it. Prior to this meeting, Adam is seen practicing his break up speech to end things with Rafe. But because of what Rafe is now questioning him about, Adam is forced to change course.
At first Adam tries to distract Rafe by kissing him, but Rafe pushes him away saying something like, "How dumb do you think I am?!" .. When Adam sees that seduction isn't going to work, he then plays the hurt lover card about how he thought he'd finally found someone who understands him and that he thought what they had meant something to Rafe as well. Adam then uses this hurt and anger to break up with Rafe and tells him to leave.
But what happens is Rafe capitulates and appears to feel sympathy for Adam, and instead of leaving he reaches out and touches Adam saying his name as if he understood how Adam feels. This leads to Rafe showing a little aggressiveness and he grabs Adam by his shirt collar and pulls him into a kiss (albeit another unseen one). .. This is the kiss that Nikki witnesses, as she's gone to The Ranch to pick something up and just happens to be passing Adam's bedroom and looks inside the cracked door.
As I said, we don't really know what happened after that,. because the scene doesn't pick up in the next episode, yet it appeared that Adam and Rafe were on their way to having sex again.

So Noah's new art installation is in San Francisco. .. Will this be his first time attending Folsom Street Fair?

Adam & Sharon sitting next to each other on the bed in the no-tel motel room.
What could possibly happen?

Since they keep showing Adam and Chance at the no-tel motel with that big ol' bed in the middle of the room, this could lead to an interesting flip-flop on the down low. .. Although, I suspect Chance prefers to bottom like his dad.
