Closeted Gay Daddy called the police after being robbed by a male sex worker!

They then charged him with ‘soliciting sodomy’ and publicly outed him!

A police department has publicly outed a gay robbery victim who had told his friends and family he was kidnapped in order to cover up a meeting with a male sex worker.

Christopher Keys, of Macon, Georgia, had called the police on May 19 after being robbed while waiting in a motel room for a sex worker he had arranged to meet on Craigslist.

According to the report Keys filed with police, two masked men had knocked on the door and held him at gunpoint, before robbing him of his wallet, house, truck and work keys, and a cell phone.

Rather than help Keys, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office opted to arrest him and charge him with “solicitation of sodomy” – which remains a specific crime in Georgia, 17 years after the US Supreme Court struck down sodomy laws banning gay sex.

The police also posted a Facebook message detailing the incident in full in order to contradict circulating “rumours” – after the victim told friends an edited version of the story in which he was kidnapped from outside a CVS pharmacy and driven to the motel.

The Facebook post from the sheriff’s office said: “Keys stated to deputies that he had responded to an ad on Craigslist. He was to meet a man at the motel in room #111. An investigation revealed that Keys had been a frequent visitor to the Regency Inn & Suites since January.

“Keys told deputies at the time of the initial report that he did not want this to get out and that he did not want deputies to talk with his relatives. Keys said that he was going to tell his father that he was kidnapped from another location and brought to the motel.

“Based on information discovered in the course of the investigation, Keys has been arrested and charged with solicitation of sodomy. The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the personal robbery reported by Keys.”

Keys, 56, had been employed as a Bible studies teacher at a local religious school, Tattnall Square Academy, according to the Macon Telegraph.

He appears to have now been removed from a staff directory on the school website, however.

The school told the newspaper: “Tattnall Square Academy was only recently made aware of the charges against our former employee, Christopher Keys. We have no comment or information regarding the matter about which he is accused.”

which one of you bitches did this happen to?

by Anonymousreply 1May 26, 2020 6:42 PM

Aaaaa hahahahahaha

by Anonymousreply 2May 26, 2020 6:45 PM
Keys, 56, had been employed as a Bible studies teacher at a local religious school,

A Bible Studies teacher of course.

by Anonymousreply 3May 26, 2020 6:46 PM

I felt mildly bad for him until I read he teaches bible studies!

by Anonymousreply 4May 26, 2020 6:46 PM

Arrest him for not social distancing!!!

by Anonymousreply 5May 26, 2020 6:47 PM

What I want to know is how he is still arranging sex trysts with whores on Craigslist?

by Anonymousreply 6May 26, 2020 6:48 PM

“Soliciting sodomy”??? LOL! Why would anyone want to live in a backwards hellhole like Georgia? Or any of the south for that matter?🙅🏻‍♂️

by Anonymousreply 7May 26, 2020 6:49 PM

Craigslist got ruined for us regular sluts but the actual whores are still getting paid?!?

by Anonymousreply 8May 26, 2020 6:49 PM

Now, the important question: Does he have a wife and kids?

by Anonymousreply 9May 26, 2020 6:50 PM

Unconstitutional charge. Void. Sue them.

by Anonymousreply 10May 26, 2020 6:51 PM

How much do you want to bet this guy voted Trump?

by Anonymousreply 11May 26, 2020 6:52 PM

What R6 said. Maybe Craigslist was a cover story, as well, it was really Rentman or something. In any case, sad what the police did, it's the reason many crimes aren't reported (by escorts as well as the buyers).

by Anonymousreply 12May 26, 2020 6:53 PM

I wonder what type of whores he hired.

by Anonymousreply 13May 26, 2020 6:54 PM

Do they arrest straight people too who solicit sodomy?🤔

by Anonymousreply 14May 26, 2020 6:54 PM

maybe like La Sentrice, he "never found the right girl" lol

by Anonymousreply 15May 26, 2020 6:54 PM

I can see why he would have to pay for sex. Though teaching bible studies he would have plenty of victims (students) to help him out and not have to resort to paying a whore.

by Anonymousreply 16May 26, 2020 6:54 PM

PinkNews isn't exactly helping assuage his outed closeted-ness by plastering his photo on the link previews to their article about him.😂

by Anonymousreply 17May 26, 2020 6:57 PM

Keys should have made it more clear that he was soliciting a "troubled young man" for the purposes of conducting Bible study and "ministering."

by Anonymousreply 18May 26, 2020 6:59 PM

This is a bullshit charge and he should sue. It sucks that he was hiding as a Bible teacher... when he obviously lived another way. Shocking

by Anonymousreply 19May 26, 2020 7:05 PM

So many of those Evangelical bible-y men seem to be closetcases and dirty sluts of the worst kind!

by Anonymousreply 20May 26, 2020 7:07 PM

I hope the guy doesn't end his life over this. I can't believe sodomy laws still exist.

by Anonymousreply 21May 26, 2020 7:08 PM

Scumbag move by the police.

But who would’ve believed this guy if he told people he was kidnapped? Who the fuck kidnaps and adult nowadays?

by Anonymousreply 22May 26, 2020 7:09 PM

Methinks he was teaching more than just bible studies.

by Anonymousreply 27May 26, 2020 7:15 PM

The irony is eye roll inducing.

But he's totally my type. Not the closeted thing. Just his look.

by Anonymousreply 28May 26, 2020 7:15 PM

Id have fucked him for free. And I care not one iota that he was a bible studies teacher. or a Trumper. Way shitty move on the cops part, but thats Georgia for you.

A little too big for me in that last pick (and I don't mind husky), but depends on his dick if I'd do him. Totally my type in r25 and if the dick was good, I'd still do him at r30

by Anonymousreply 32May 26, 2020 7:26 PM

R32 The fattest photo is the oldest one of him, so I think Daddy has been losing weight for his gay motel hookups

by Anonymousreply 33May 26, 2020 7:28 PM

ACLU needs to get involved in this. I was under the impression, federal law trumps local and state laws

by Anonymousreply 34May 26, 2020 7:28 PM

Even better, r33!

by Anonymousreply 35May 26, 2020 7:29 PM

He probably hired some Grindr whores.

by Anonymousreply 36May 26, 2020 7:33 PM

I do want to know his type however.

by Anonymousreply 37May 26, 2020 7:38 PM

I cannot believe there sympathizers with this closet case. He was outed by the police for a reason which is probably because he a big ole hypocrite.

by Anonymousreply 38May 26, 2020 7:38 PM

Um, there's a reason he had to hire someone...

by Anonymousreply 39May 26, 2020 7:38 PM

Where on Craigslist does one find sex workers? Maybe "Craigslist" is shorthand for Doublelist?

by Anonymousreply 40May 26, 2020 7:40 PM

This served him right up his barren shithole!!! Fuck him, closeted gay Trump voter!!!

hahahahahahahahahaha

by Anonymousreply 41May 26, 2020 7:42 PM

It is very difficult to stay homonymous these days.

by Anonymousreply 42May 26, 2020 7:46 PM

Sympathy R38 because the police would not have done this to a hetero man in the same situation.

They were clearly fucking him over because he is gay

by Anonymousreply 43May 26, 2020 7:50 PM

Isn't Macon a large city?

by Anonymousreply 44May 26, 2020 7:53 PM

Is this the same Georgia county sheriff department that entrapped gay men on Grindr a few weeks ago?

Something stinks in Georgia.

by Anonymousreply 45May 26, 2020 7:54 PM

I hate lying closet cases like this. That said, "sodomy" charges are bullshit

by Anonymousreply 46May 26, 2020 7:54 PM

R43 If he wasn’t living a lie he may not need to pay prostitutes on the side

by Anonymousreply 47May 26, 2020 7:54 PM

In a world without homophobia this would have never happened. The South is insanely oppressive and you’d have to live there to understand. Only the nelliest of lip gloss queens come out. There is honestly no place left open for gay men that aren’t super feminine and if the masc guys do come out they move away. Gender roles are super enforced, as soon as you come out the fag hags want you to get out the curling iron & eye shadow and go to work on their hair & face.

by Anonymousreply 48May 26, 2020 7:55 PM

This is some 1950s shit here.

by Anonymousreply 49May 26, 2020 7:58 PM

He can just become an Episcopalian now. We don't want 'em.

by Anonymousreply 51May 26, 2020 8:02 PM

That's bullshit r48. There are plenty of "normal" openly gay men all over the South. Maybe you mean in rural areas.

by Anonymousreply 52May 26, 2020 8:02 PM

Hasn’t that man ever watched Law and Order SVU?

by Anonymousreply 58May 26, 2020 8:08 PM

by Anonymousreply 59May 26, 2020 8:09 PM

I don't live in the South anymore but I spent years there in Houston, Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh. There are tons of openly gay guys.

I live in Jersey now and you sound more like clueless New Yorkers who know nothing of the South.

This seems unjust. This could lead to suicide. He has no duty to be out. Most gays are in the closet. Nothing wrong with gays having wife and children and supporting our president. I hate when police decide to Damage the reputation of someone. Church probably helped him be less promiscuous.

by Anonymousreply 70May 26, 2020 9:18 PM

Doesn't matter if this guy is a closeted Christianist. This is wrong. If you read the post from the Sheriff's Office on Facebook, the man was arrested for "solicitation of sodomy." This law should be overturned. The SCOTUS overturned sodomy laws. I do not understand how this law is still constitutional in Georgia.

The law can target any on of us.

by Anonymousreply 71May 26, 2020 9:19 PM
No doubt he tried to pin it on two black guys.

That he did.
The rumor was about a carjacking and kidnapping. The incident was reported to have occurred on May 20, 2020, at 1615 Forest Hill Drive, CVS Pharmacy.

Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators checked into this rumor and found that no such incident occurred at the CVS, and that the carjacking and kidnaping did not happen at all. However, Bibb County investigators are working an incident with this same victim that occurred on May 19, 2020. The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office as a personal armed robbery.

According to the incident report, Bibb County deputies met with Christopher Keys at 4951 Eisenhower Parkway, Regency Inn & Suites in reference to an Armed Robbery. Keys advised that he was at the motel when he heard a knock at his room door. When he opened the door, two masked men, one of whom was armed, robbed him of his wallet, house, truck and work keys, and a cell phone.

Keys was able to get his cell phone back from an unknown individual who brought it to the motel after retrieving it from the nearby Walmart parking lot.

Keys stated to deputies that he had responded to an ad on Craigslist. He was to meet a man at the motel in room #111. An investigation revealed that Keys had been a frequent visitor to the Regency Inn & Suites since January. Keys told deputies at the time of the initial report that he did not want this to get out and that he did not want deputies to talk with his relatives. Keys said that he was going to tell his father that he was kidnapped from another location and brought to the motel.

Yes, that I know that making up accusations about black people to the police can get them killed. If you think so, then [bold] that [/bold] says more about [bold] you [/bold] than it does about me. Fuck him. I will say it again. by Anonymousreply 83May 26, 2020 9:58 PM

I'm curious to know if he's still in jail. The last report said he was still locked up as of Friday.

by Anonymousreply 84May 26, 2020 10:03 PM

Well I think this shows you can't find sex on craigslist r81, this guy just got swindled.

Let me be clear on this: it's not wrong to be a closeted gay who stays in the closet and practice gay sex in secret. But it's pretty disgusting and certainly deceitful to be a closeted gay who is married with children and lectures people on the Bible for livelihood and then goes online to solicit sodomy. It's the lowest of the low and utterly despicable.

by Anonymousreply 87May 26, 2020 10:17 PM

R84 If he's still in jail, then he's probably getting plenty of big thug cock for free instead of paying for it. So this worked out quite well for him, I'd say.

by Anonymousreply 88May 26, 2020 10:20 PM

R74 I don't think he lied to the police or they would have charged him with that too . To me the story reads like this , closet case wants to hook up with prostitute he found on craigslist . Arrives at agreed upon motel and gets robbed by two guys at gun point . Calls police to report the robbery . Tells police not to talk to his family or say anything about this because he's married and likes to play around . Tells police that he's going to tell his family that he was kidnapped to explain the motel location away . Tells family and friends that he was kidnapped by two black guy at one location and driven to motel , robbed there . Friend/family/neighbor puts it on facebook and attracts the attention of local news channel who investigate why they haven't heard anything official about a local kidnapping .

by Anonymousreply 117May 27, 2020 12:12 AM

R117 He would have gotten away with this if he hadn't lied to his family about what happened. The pigs were humiliated about being accused of not looking into the robbery and taking the closet case's complaint seriously. They arrested him in retaliation. As I've said earlier, the sodomy charge is wrong and the law should be repealed, but the sodomy charge will be dismissed by the DA and this wouldn't have happened if he had either come out of the closet or kept his two inch dick in his pants.

by Anonymousreply 118May 27, 2020 12:18 AM

This is a mess. Half of me feels sorry for this man. You have to imagine it’s difficult being gay in his scenario. It’s easier said than done to just live your truth. I’m sure he’s tried and tried to get fulfillment from having sex with his wife, porn, masturbation. He probably has tried “praying the gay away”. He probably just needed something he wasn’t getting and tried being discreet about it and got in over his head.

Just because he’s a Christian doesn’t mean he doesn’t have compassion for other people. Even if Christianity doesn’t support homosexuality, until it comes out that he was mistreating someone for being gay, that’s no reason to attack him.

I’m not going to judge this man; that’s what the police are for. I just hope he finds peace.

Yes the Supreme Court has struck down anti-sodomy laws, but that is different from solicitation of sodomy. Solicitation of any kind of sexual act is a crime. Georgia also defines both oral and anal sex, straight or gay, as sodomy. The police were wrong to focus on that instead of the people who robbed him. But he admitted to breaking the law. It is like someone calling the cops because their drug dealer gave them bad drugs. If you deal with Craigslist hoes, there is a risk involved.

by Anonymousreply 131May 27, 2020 12:50 AM

This is all a bit convoluted:

'A long-time youth pastor in Macon, Georgia was arrested this week after he allegedly fabricated a story about being kidnapped — to cover up an attempted meeting with a male prostitute.

Christopher Keys recently served as the student pastor at a local Baptist church, and taught at a private Christian school. Keys was robbed at gunpoint by two masked men at the Regency Inn & Suites in Macon on Tuesday, according to reports.

After arranging to meet a male prostitute on Craigslist, Keys drove to the hotel, which he reportedly has been frequenting since January. He answered a knock at the door and let one of the masked men into his room. The suspect told Keys to get on the bed before putting a gun to his head.

Key subsequently told an acquaintance that he had been kidnapped in his truck at a nearby CVS, forced to drive to the motel, and robbed. After a woman posted Keys’ story about the kidnapping and robbery on Facebook (above), it was shared hundreds of times, prompting WMAZ-TV to look into the rumor.

As it turns out, Keys met with police at the hotel after the robbery, telling a sheriff’s deputy that “he liked to play around and was married to a woman,” the station reports. In an interview with the deputy, Keys even revealed his plan to tell his family that he was kidnapped at the CVS. Two days later, he was arrested and charged with solicitation of sodomy, a misdemeanor.

Keys recently worked as a teacher at Tattnall Square Academy, where he taught upper-school Bible, worked with the chapel band, and served as coordinator for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, according to his now-deleted bio (above).

“I am a people person and love to teach young people the truths of the Bible,” he wrote in the bio.

“I have been married for 20 years to my wife Jennie. I am a graduate of FPD and Mercer University and Southwestern Seminary. I am currently the student pastor at Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church in Macon and I’ve been in student ministry for 28 years.” --------

by Anonymousreply 132May 27, 2020 12:58 AM

Yes he only had 70 bucks cash, this was one cheap hooker he thought he was meeting.

Also for the thieves to go through all this trouble to get a measly 70 bucks, clearly drug addicts looking for a fix.

by Anonymousreply 133May 27, 2020 1:00 AM
The pigs were humiliated about being accused of not looking into the robbery and taking the closet case's complaint seriously. They arrested him in retaliation.

How do you know that, R118? Do any of the articles say so?

I characterized the police in those terms because I've been the unwilling recipient of small-town sheriff homophobia while attempting to report an assault back in 1996. The police chief started asking mocking questions like, "Why didn't you kick his ass? Is he your boyfriend? Are y'all lovers? Was this a lovers' spat?" while the obese deputy shifted between me and the door, and fingered his handcuffs. All the color drained out of my face as I realized with a sinking feeling what it was about to turn into if I wasn't very careful. (And no, they were not proposing a threeway.)

By remaining calm, I managed to get out of there, but the deputy drove behind me all the way back to my apartment about two feet from my bumper, and flipped on his lights and blared his siren just as I made the turn into the apartments. "You didn't use your turn signal," he lied, "but I'll let you go - this time." It was then that I understood in terms of real experience why street wisdom has it that there's damn near no situation that cannot be made worse by summoning the police.

My own experience with the police, for what it's worth.

by Anonymousreply 134May 27, 2020 1:02 AM
If he was meeting with a prostitute,

And that's a big IF. .. Did the Craigslist ad say anything about money being exchanged?

I noticed that one local news report on the sheriff's incident report says that Keys told them that the one robber kept him in the motel room while the other guy went out to his truck to get his wallet. So he didn't even bring his wallet into the room with him.

by Anonymousreply 142May 27, 2020 1:14 AM

He was robbed in his motel room when he arranged to meet a CL hustler for sex. When the police arrived he fabricated some story about 2 black men in the CVS car park forcing their way into his vehicle and ordering him to the motel. Which makes no sense, particularly as he then apparently told the police he hooked up in this motel regularly...?!

Anyway, his bullshit story about the evil black men was apparently so popular on Facebook that the local TV station decided to look into it -- which is when the whole thing blew up in his face.

The only real question I have is why he called the police when he was hooking up behind his wife's back and had apparently lost only $70 in the robbery. Cut your losses, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 143May 27, 2020 1:16 AM

R144 Fair enough, but his story reveals the classic mistake of the liar: over-embellishment. If he'd just said he'd somehow dropped the keys/phone in a car park or whatever, it would have been no big deal. Or he could have just gone to Walmart and replaced the phone straightaway, 'must have dropped my keys somewhere'... This clown gives deceitful racist philanderers a bad name.

by Anonymousreply 147May 27, 2020 1:26 AM
Nothing on the Hooker??

I don't think a hooker actually exists. It was a set up by the two robbers and that's how they knew he was at that hotel, in that room, at that time, waiting to let a stranger come inside.

Why would people holding you up at the CVS take you to a motel? A motel that will be under your credit card.

by Anonymousreply 151May 27, 2020 1:44 AM

R144 I don't think he would have had to explain either the phone or the keys to the wife. .. He got his phone back almost immediately. The report says he was stlll at the motel when it was returned. And the keys were described as his "work keys." .. No biggee.

R149 He probably knew that. And that's why he left his wallet out in his truck.

In the R116 link, the friend was told 2 men jumped into his car, forced him to drive to a motel, took him into a room, and robbed him.

Did she stop to ask if the robbers paused to rent the room on the way in, or if it was just happened to be unlocked and they knew that, or what? Apparently he supposedly then called the police from the hotel room ... so ... I’d be asking, “Wait, so WHOSE hotel room was this??”

It does seem very courteous for robbers to rent a hotel room for you, so you can collect yourself, afterwards. Maybe in a bubble bath, with room service.

The case described in the link is for the same crime and ended up in the Georgia Supreme Court in 2013.

While the court upheld the law, it reversed the conviction, and outlined when and how the law applies.

It sounds like Bibb County will definitely need evidence showing that he offered money, since none of the other elements seem to apply. But even if they have that, the person he would have supposedly being paying doesn't actually exist. Not sure how that works. (Sounds similar to police entrapment stings, which I don't like.)

Anyway, for anyone interested in the law, this covers the points concisely.

by Anonymousreply 225May 27, 2020 9:23 AM

😂 I am sorry but I have to laugh, this idiot is truly incredible, look how many people he brought down with his little lie, the local police now looks homophobic, the poor neighbor feels guilty for making a fuss on facebook, his wife and kids in shame, his church friends in disgust, and also managed to upset gays and the black along the way.

by Anonymousreply 226May 27, 2020 9:55 AM

Has the frau neighbor posted anything else?

by Anonymousreply 227May 27, 2020 10:58 AM

He described kidnappers as black to sound credible. Two white guys would not have ring of truth.

by Anonymousreply 228May 27, 2020 12:23 PM

I wish I could have seen the scene when the wife found out.

Also, I hope the other closet cases in Macon, GA know that the Bibb county sheriff's office is going to set up a sting operation for the Craiglist hookup pages now. If they are still using it to solicit sex after their fellow closet case got arrested so publicly, then they are truly irredeemable morons.

by Anonymousreply 231May 27, 2020 2:20 PM

He deserved it for being stupid. I bet the only reason he called the police is that he was outraged when the trick dared to steal from him. Being entitled, he figured he could get away with his ruse. If he had checked his ego and thought it out, he wouldn’t be fucked like this today.

by Anonymousreply 232May 27, 2020 3:09 PM

R230 I would say it is because 99% of them haven’t heard of the story. It is getting play on here, black twitter, and his local area, but hasn’t gone mainstream.

by Anonymousreply 233May 27, 2020 3:48 PM

Was his dog on a leash?

by Anonymousreply 234May 27, 2020 3:51 PM

R230 I wonder how this is going to play out if the robbers actually turned out to be black . Because right now it feels like a lot of angry people are only getting half the story and just assume that the horny pastor made up everything , not just the carjacking/ kidnapping to motel part as an excuse for his family for why he's at the motel .

by Anonymousreply 235May 27, 2020 4:22 PM

Guys like him are so maddening. Just come out.

by Anonymousreply 236May 27, 2020 5:34 PM
Guys like him are so maddening. Just come out.

Well, I guess he did ... when he told the deputies what he was doing in the motel room.

Per the Bibb County Sheriff's incident report, "Keys stated to deputies that he had responded to an ad on Craigslist. He was to meet a man at the motel in room #111."

I would think that a guy so deep in the closet, who wanted to remain there, wouldn't do something like that over $70 measly bucks.

by Anonymousreply 237May 27, 2020 5:47 PM

The whole story is indeed very strange.

Maybe his white male privilege made him think no one would ever question his story.

by Anonymousreply 238May 27, 2020 7:04 PM

Any new developments?

Surely not the neighbor’s FB post??

Solicitation still is a crime in most places. What's the surprise? All he had to do was lie.

He obviously has plenty of experience doing that.

by Anonymousreply 244May 27, 2020 11:12 PM

Still waiting on the evidence that he offered money.

The sheriff's clarification report says, "Keys stated to deputies that he had responded to an ad on Craigslist."

Here's something interesting that I haven't seen mentioned ...

Back in April 2016, they put a photo of him on the Bibb County Sheriff's Facebook page. (Same Bibb County Sheriff that filed his original incident report, and eventually arrested him.)

Back then. he was one of six bailiffs they photographed wearing their new official blazer with the caption:
Our bailiffs at the Bibb County Courthouse have a new look! They are now sporting navy blazers with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patch! Looking sharp! #BCSOStrong #BCSOPRIDE

This was probably a part-time occasional thing? because the bailiff position there is advertised as a "per diem" job. The other funny thing is it pays $70 per day, which is supposedly how much was stolen from him by the non-hooker thieves.

Anyway, this would seem to make it even more surprising that he would call and report the crime, giving details as to why he was there (for a hookup), and his use of Craigslist. Some of the people at Bibb County Sheriff must know him, yet he wasn't concerned about local gossip?!?

He also posted the photo on his own timeline.

by Anonymousreply 250May 28, 2020 7:11 AM

Maybe he felt his fellow employees at the Police Department would put in extra effort?

by Anonymousreply 251May 28, 2020 7:20 AM

But why would he want anyone who might know him from his work at the sheriff's office and court to learn that he went to the motel for a hookup with a man. That would be like fodder for police gossip?
According to the incident report, Keys told the deputy he liked to play around and was married to a woman, but he put/answered a Craigslist ad to meet a man at the motel room.

"The SCOTUS overturned sodomy laws. I do not understand how this law is still constitutional in Georgia."

A couple things.

1. The Supreme Court did indeed broadly declare certain types of sodomy laws unconstitutional in Lawrence v. Texas - but it only struck down the actual law at issue in that case. States have kept sodomy laws on the books and even charged them. Any circuit court with any sense would just throw out the charge as unconstitutional and void. But, to get it off the books if the state is unwilling to take it off the books would require working that specific law through the court system.

2. "Sodomy" in the very narrow sense is anal sex, but more broadly it can include more sex "acts" - like oral, and even more broadly "Sodomy" can simply mean "deviant" sexual acts or practices and in theory could encompass soliciting hookers/escorts. So "solicitation of sodomy" could be a legit constitutional charge in this case, though since this is Georgia, I doubt it.

"You can still find action on Craig's list. The missed connections personals are full of hook ups"

Go on Etsy and type 'hoar' and you'll get dozens of hits.

by Anonymousreply 255May 28, 2020 11:16 AM

The bailiff thing is interesting. I wonder if something about his experience there made him think the cops would be understanding. Like he saw cops doing the same thing.

And the choice to basically volunteer to do that work so he could be in a position of authority. Basic cop mentality.

I’m not far from Macon and was telling a friend about it. He yawned and said “another church creep exposed as a closet case” and dismissed it. It really is that common.

This Georgia bible guy is living out my college age fears.

When I was dating women in college (1988-1992), I used to think about / fantasize about men. I was even discussing moving in with a girlfriend back then.

However, I knew I'd be with a guy behind her back. Ultimately my fear of being exposed: of getting married to a woman and then getting caught cheating on her with a guy in a public bathroom or a hotel room in my community shook me up. I was fearful of having to explain my behavior to my potential future wife and her family and my family and church pals, that I came out the summer between college and grad school.

I was terrified that what happened to this closeted Macon County bible hypocrite would happen to me, so I started dating guys and joined a house of worship accepting / welcoming of gay guys. This didn't have to happen to Christopher Keys, but he made decisions that lead him to being publicly exposed and humiliated and arrested. Christopher Keys didn't have to give up religion or spirituality to live his true life. I've been living with partner for years, my congregation knows my partner and I'm still very active in the congregation. Keys, I feel bad for him, he must be living my nightmare.

by Anonymousreply 258May 28, 2020 12:14 PM
The SCOTUS overturned sodomy laws. I do not understand how this law is still constitutional in Georgia.

Read the article linked to at R223 about the 2013 case in decided by the Georgia Supreme Court. Their decision outlines the limitations and elements of when the solicitation of sodomy charge can be applied in relation to the right to privacy and the 1998 U.S. Supreme Court decision.

For a charge/conviction to stick, at least ONE of the following four elements needs to exist:

- force was involved

- it would be done in public

- the victim is underage

- an offer of payment

As I see it, each of those four elements would seem to have other laws backing them up. (e.g. sexual assault, public lewdness, age of consent, and prostitution)

by Anonymousreply 259May 28, 2020 7:59 PM

Whatever about him, the real crime I think is the behavior of the police.

by Anonymousreply 260May 28, 2020 8:06 PM

by Anonymousreply 262May 30, 2020 1:56 AM

He's either a moron .. OR he was still in some kind of state of shock from the robbery when he called the police and admitted to them what he was doing in the motel room .. OR this whole thing was spurred by some deep, sub-conscious desire to finally come out of the closet, so he can go to Folsom Street Fair just once before he dies.

by Anonymousreply 263May 30, 2020 2:29 AM

by Anonymousreply 266June 1, 2020 3:38 PM

R266 Well, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution did report on how the Georgia lodging industry was finding "new ways" to fill their rooms during COVID. Maybe along with locals wanting to find "a quiet place to work," they should have added "a place to fuck loudly."
He was outed by the police for a reason which is probably because he a big ole hypocrite.

Are you stupid? They did it to fuck over a gay guy.

by Anonymousreply 277September 7, 2020 3:57 PM

This statement made by the NAACP spokeswoman in the article at R276 is not only wrong, but rather inflammatory (imho):
"Some black man could have been arrested, charged and convicted that fit that description and had that criminal back ground at that hotel. The fact that no one has addressed that is a concern," says Westbrooks.

Look, Keys may be scum, but the NAACP doesn't seem to get that he TOLD THE POLICE THE TRUTH about what he was doing in the motel. The police knew that he'd been there for a sex hookup, so they weren't going to be out looking to arrest and charge black guys as carjackers and kidnappers. .. In fact, Keys even told the police - in advance - that he had the notion to make up some kind of story to tell his family. The lie he concocted was to what? a neighbor? who then took it upon herself to blab it to the rest of the world. .. Keys didn't do that, so this wasn't like he was out making some kind of grand statement to the news media for public consumption - and more importantly - it had nothing to do with the official police report that he'd given to the authorities.

Personally, the only thing I see them being able to charge Keys with is some kind of minor prostitution charge; and if they treat him like everyone else with a first offense, then it will more than likely result in some kind of plea that's reduced to a fine (max. $1000) and suspended sentence (max. one-year). Have they even found-retrieved his supposed Craigslist communications? Have they been able to track and identify who he was communicating with? .. the guy(s) who turned him into a crime victim? .. I think they'd need those communications to make it stick. .. As I recall, he said he was responding to an ad, so if true, he didn't even do the original soliciting.

by Anonymousreply 278September 7, 2020 10:11 PM

He kind of husky hot.

I can’t believe he actually called the police over a lost$70

by Anonymousreply 279September 8, 2020 12:19 AM

R279 Yeah, that was the really stupid part, especially since he got his phone back almost immediately. .. All this trouble over 70-frickin dollars. .. lol! .. Maybe sub-consciously he wanted to be outed.

by Anonymousreply 280September 8, 2020 12:55 AM

R278, I get our point but with the “wild Wild West” mentality in GA, some civilian might take matters in his own hands.

by Anonymousreply 281September 8, 2020 9:29 PM

R281 Okay. But the NAACP spokeswoman was addressing what she thought the police and district attorney would do to some innocent black men i.e. "arrest, charge and convict" - as opposed to vigilantes. And that just wasn't going to happen. The authorities knew the real story.

And I still don't see how the district attorney can make any kind of case against Keys for fabricating a story in a private conversation. In fact, I just went back to re-read what happened, and reports at the time say that the woman who posted "the story" on Facebook isn't even the person Keys told his lie to directly. Apparently, she heard it from her daughter, who supposedly heard it from Keys. So now we're dealing with second-hand re-tellings.

Beyond the misdemeanor solicitation for sodomy charge, I'd really like to know what Keys could be charged with that would actually hold up in court. In a video, the Macon judicial circuit DA (who's not handling the case) said something about charging him with "false report of a crime" (another misdemeanor), but added "if the evidence supports it." I just don't see how the evidence supports tha charge, because the George code says the false report has to be made to a law enforcement officer or state agency - not to some neighbor girl who then runs home and tells her mother who then writes her own report on Facebook.

by Anonymousreply 290February 28, 2021 6:49 AM

R278, he told a story that disparaged the police and could have provoked community outrage at 'Black criminals' and the inability of police to keep white people safe. What he did was irresponsible and un-Christian.

The police didn't care about the racist part. They outed him and charged him with a crime as revenge for suggesting they didn't do their job.

by Anonymousreply 291February 28, 2021 7:20 AM

R10, exactly!

He actually has a case.

And Georgia, GTFOH with posting people’s photos online for shit that they have been charged with, and not convicted of.

Constitutionally, IDGAF if this gentleman is a Bible studies teacher or an engineer. That being said, this public shaming that law enforcement in the south does, has made this man unemployed, and has most probably alienated him from his friends and family.

The crime here is that the man was ROBBED, and now he’s being robbed of his livelihood and social support. Who actually gives a fuck if he was seeking out some action? None of that shit matters, and I hope this gentleman has enough wherewithal to contact a constitutional law attorney, and STANDS HIS GROUND AND SUES THE LIVING FUCK OUT OF THE CITY OF MACON AND THE STATE OF GEORGIA.

Take it all the way up to the highest court, and get some fucking 💰💰💰.

This is why so many in the LGBTQ communities in the backwards south stay closeted.

He needs to sue the fuck out of all involved and move the fuck outta there to his new pad in WeHo, where he will make new friends and be welcomed by all of WeHo’s DataLounge whores.

Hope someone reaches out to this guy and gets him into the proper gear one needs to be in when deciding to pursue rule of law. He’s probably so ashamed, that he is at high risk for suicide.

Fuck, I wish I were wealthy, because for sure I’d get this guy an attorney, and fuck shit up for Macon, Georgia.

by Anonymousreply 292February 28, 2021 8:04 AM

Your reasoning on this is ridiculous if the two robbers were black.

by Anonymousreply 293February 28, 2021 8:22 AM

It's been almost a year now since this arrest happened and there have been no updates. Does anyone know what happened to this fat closet case? Has there been a divorce filing by his wife of 20 years, Jenny? Were the charges dismissed?

by Anonymousreply 294April 25, 2021 8:42 PM

what a schlimazel!

by Anonymousreply 295April 25, 2021 8:45 PM

If prosecutors never located the Craigslist ad that Keys said he'd responded to in order to identify the other alleged sodomite and prove that a solicitation of sodomy had actually taken place, then the case would seem far too weak to prosecute (imho). And I somehow doubt that ever happened, because whoever that person was would have been the perpetrator or at least involved in the armed robbery that actually did take place, so I think that would have made the news.

by Anonymousreply 296April 25, 2021 9:23 PM

Update?

by Anonymousreply 297May 16, 2022 6:16 AM

I miss Craigslist so much, there is nothing else around like it.

by Anonymousreply 298May 16, 2022 7:39 AM

I would guess the D.A. looked at the charges and said they didn't have a case. Plus, this all went down during Covid lockdown when courts were in already in disarray and scrambling and postponing things that actually mattered.
