After a couple of years of supporting and launching their adopted son, they're likely to have some grandkids by him. So they'll get to enjoy helping raise more young people. It's a win-win for everyone because the dads are in it for the right reason.

I’m a social worker administrator had once had foster care prevention program under me. Foster care is a messed up system that does not normally leave children who have been in it for an extended time in a better place. Aging out of foster care happens between 18 and 20 depending on the state. It is abrupt and does not leave folks with the financial safety net and psychosocial support that everyone needs. Adoption or return to a strengthened family of birth setting (not an option here since relatives are the first target for fostering) is always the end goal but so difficult for teens because everyone wants children they can mold or are afraid of damaged goods.

With adoption, these guys will no longer get state foster care payments. He is now their full financial responsibility, so money is not an incentive. Both likely were married and came out later, which explains why they have older children and grand kids. They are most likely hoping to give him a better life and have grown to live him as a son — not sexually as some of you sick pricks are suggesting. They were carefully vetted by child welfare workers who did home Visits and character background checks. Just allow this to be a nice story. Oh, dear. Adopting him legally is partially symbolic at that point. It's telling that kid and the world that legally he is their son and they are his fathers. They're not just going to "give up" on the kid. They're locked in. As someone else mentioned, he'll also inherit from them have when they pass.

More than that, going through the system really can screw up a kid and once someone turns 18 they don't automatically stop needing their parents for at the least occasional emotional support from people who don't need anything from you and who care about you. I know that not everyone had it but if you did, then it makes a difference. (I used to call my parents all the time when I was younger just to talk. It was just nice knowing they were there.)

It really just seems with the gifts etc. they're catching him up so he'll have had that experience even if it's late in life.

He never formally adopted him but this got a lot of press when the junior Rackover was charged with kill a 28 year old from Connecticut in his Sutton Place apartment.

And more recently the revelation that an unmarried Matt Gaetz had an adopted son!

I was thinking about this thread and was wondering if anyone has heard an update about life with the Beanblossom clan. I did find this LGBTQ locally produced video from several months after the adoption. t's weird that the dads are interviewed and shown in their home and around the area....and only speak about the son in reverential tones with only ghostly photographs of him displayed. The son is nowhere to be seen as a live person.
