I don't see what was so wrong about his statement. He's not trying to win an award however his story, as unusual as it is, might give some people the courage to come out. It's always a tough choice to have to choose between your family and identity. He's acknowledged he made mistakes, gave other credit for helping him in his own struggle, and offered no excuses as far as I can tell. If we can't accept people who have made mistakes, then coming out will remain a struggle for many adults. Closeted men sometimes project an overly hetero image as a matter of survival. Aaron came to that realization sooner than many while living in a glass closet.
I'm also tired of all these stupid purity tests. You shouldn't have to change who you are just because of your sexual identity. For some, being gay is the most important issue. However, people may have other struggles that have nothing to do with their orientation. Those people are not always going to align with the mainstream of the culture.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 5, 2020 4:41 PM |
[quote] He's acknowledged he made mistakes
His "mistakes" were calculated decisions to stay in the GOP and keep funding coming in for his campaigns. He was having a gay affair during that whole time, so his "coming out" isn't really to himself but to the rest of the world. His "mistakes" jeopardized the lives and rights for his LGBT brothers and sister. He doesn't seem apologetic even for a second.
Fuck him

by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 5, 2020 4:53 PM |
For years, former congressman Aaron Schock has poured millions of dollars into a seemingly hopeless legal battle to stay out of prison on charges of public corruption, fraud, and theft of government funds. On Wednesday, Schock emerged almost completely victorious, striking a stunning deal to avoid facing trial for what once seemed like a straightforward case of a public official using elected office to line his own pockets.
The announcement that federal prosecutors were dropping all felony charges against Schock in exchange for payment of money owed to the IRS, appeared to halt the Illinois Republican’s free-fall from grace, leaving reporters, court-watchers, and advocates for ethics in government stunned. How did so clear-cut a case go so wrong for prosecutors—and so right for Schock?
According to former federal prosecutors, sources close to the case, and Schock’s legal team, the ex-congressman got off by a mixture of prosecutorial sloppiness, ambiguously worded corruption statutes, and an unwillingness by the U.S. attorney in Chicago to defend the actions of Schock’s initial prosecutors on appeal.
Schock’s attorneys hounded prosecutors and federal investigators for alleged misconduct throughout the case’s four-year history, from asking misleading questions during grand jury testimony to what they called “distasteful and offensive” inquiries into the ex-congressman’s sex life.
“The government has investigated nearly every facet of Mr. Schock’s professional, political, and personal life,” Schock’s defense attorneys wrote in a 2017 motion to dismiss the charges. “This even includes his sex life. It is no secret that there has long been speculative gossip in the media about Mr. Schock’s sexual orientation. For no apparent reason, the government has felt itself compelled to investigate this too.”
Federal investigators, too, were seen as having potentially overstepped in their pursuit of information about Schock’s alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. According to one source close to the case, investigators ordered a Schock staffer to steal documents from his congressional office, which a House of Representatives lawyer alleged amounted to “a solicitation of that employee to steal official records,” a potential violation of the law itself.

He said he will advocate for those in the LGTBQ community which is signficant in itself as there are many gays on DL who don't consider trans to be part of their community. However, his actions are now limited to what he can do as a private person as he's no longer in politics. However, but if he ever reentered politics, he could do a lot of good in helping reshape the Republican party.

He's done a great deal of damage by reinforcing stereotypes and lending more evidence to the aphorism, "If it Quacks Like a Duck, It's a Duck."
His lavender belt and shirtless magazine covers were the epitome of obnoxious, wake-up-the-neighborhood quacking, and despite this his father and others insisted that he wasn't gay. He was just stylish. Which is just more code words, more quacking.
He's made it infinitely harder for people who quack but aren't ducks.

While perhaps being even remotely true, the Clintons and Obama's political party wasn't demonizing gays to point of adding anti-gay planks to their party's national platform. Schock also states if he were in Congress today, he would follow his conscience and vote for gay legislation. What a crock of BS.! He would continue to follow whatever the party bosses told him as well his right-leaning conservative constituents in order to stay in office.

So I guess he hasn't learned his lesson. SHOCK!
by Anonymous | reply 106 | March 5, 2020 6:47 PM |
The problem is, Schock didn't apologize for his anti-gay votes, admit that Republicans are wrong about gayness (at least!) or donate money and work to LGBT causes to begin the long process of amends.
He should condemn and lobby the Republican Party to change.
He's also lying about the embezzlement charges. The prosecutors had the receipts and shared them. They just let him off because 1) he was a first offender. 2) he resigned 3) he was dealing with the closet and sexuality issues and 4) HE PAID THE GOVERNMENT BACK.
I do believe he misappropriated funds for a very lavish social life, including with gay companions. I believe he would have kept the money if he didn't get caught. I do believe he's a greedy social climber who thinks money is everything and you can do whatever you want for as much money as possible as quickly as you can. That's what the Republican Party is all about. And today, the Republicans are as openly crooked as Aaron Shock's pass-around butthole!
Aaron's also not telling us how he gets his money now and how he can afford to jet-set around the world with moneyed elites like an Instaho.
Yes, I feel sorry for the Cockgobbler in a lot of ways. But he's also been a coward, a snob, a crook and a wannabe elitist with no character or courage. I congratulate him on taking baby steps toward courage in his sexuality. But what about the greedy pig, pro-Republican stuff? When the Republican Party is destroying democracy itself?
And I do feel sorry for him that his parents are douchebags. But look how they had to find out! Should Aaron have been living it up and indulging in a hedonistic, elitist gay lifestyle before coming out to the people most important to him? He was trying to have his homophobic cake and gobble it, too.

NICE TRY, BORIS @ r111.
Mayor Pete came out voluntarily the summer before his re-election as Mayor. He was up-front with himself, his family and his constituents BEFORE an election and won anyway.
That and Pete's military service make him much braver than Cockgobblers Schock or McGreevey, who only came out because they got BUSTED.

Fuck him. He would need to beg forgiveness for his voting record for me to even consider it. But he won't because he's a sociopath and feels no remorse for what other gay men in the country have experienced because of him and his party. He just thinks HE should have acceptance and welcoming, no other gay men. They shouldn't even be allowed to feel safe from discrimination in the work place. But HE shouldn't have to deal with people being mean to him online
Nope, fuck him. I hope it's true that his family rejected him. He doesn't deserve people in his life. He still has all the clients from his escorting. He should go cry to them. I don't care

R113–Not sure why you think my opinion suggests Russian propaganda. I’m not saying he’s the same as Pete, just that Pete was also a closeted Indiana public official. Growing up gay in a fundie family is horrible.
What exactly is so unforgivable about his voting record that we haven’t forgiven many heroes including both Clintons and Obama for?

In Schock's statement, he said he's been telling (translate: "coming out") to the people closest to him over the past year. WTF?! The past year? Why did it take a year? How many fucking people are "closest" to him other than his family and one or two others. Sounds and looks like he's full of shit. From what we have seen over the past year, he's been flitting around the world posing for photos in every vacation spot and exotic location he could visit. Schock is a fucking liar. None of those people closest to him live in any of the locations where he was not being truthful and instead being a whore. And we can't let Schock forget about all of the pics showing us the inside of his anus. That took some time too.

R117 is a GOP loving troll. You should hire Schock as an escort and complain to him about how its so unfair you're both misunderstood.
In addition to the obvious things that have been pointed out to you. Dems have voted several times for bills that would make it easier for gay people to adopt children and would ban firing people from jobs on the basis of sexual orientation.
Both of these bills typically got between 10 and 30 GOP votes and all Dems.
Schock has never voted for those bills. PAUL RYAN votes for both of those bills while Schock was voted against him. He is scum and deserves no good will from us.

Please let's not anyone get away with comparing the Clinton and Obama era. They were decades apart. The mood of most of the country was entirely different in the Clinton era than it was during Obam'a's terms. I'm not excusing anyone for their vote or denying equal rights no matter what the era. However, Schock served in Congress as one of the youngest members of Congress--and this took place during the Obama era, a far more enlightened era for everyone. Schock was not hiding behind DADT in 1993. However, as a gay young man, Schock was continuing the discrimination up until he left Congress in 2015. This is unforgivable, Even if he were straight, he should have been voting for equality in 2015. Schock betrayed gay people all over the country. He was a coward then, and he is an Instagram coward now.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | March 5, 2020 7:49 PM |
He's also clearly lying about his mother seeing the Coachella pics. Please. She would have seen the Grindr pics or the other ones before the blurry Coachella pics that he could easily have denied, or the MANY shirtless pics of him with other gay guys on his public Instagram, or the articles about his hole, etc. And the story about him "not being welcome for Easter" - first of all, who goes to visit family on Easter, and second, that is some bullshit. He must be pissed at his mother to single her out as well for people who know her in his hometown.
Made up crap to try to appeal to the "I have a coming out story too".
He was saving the Big Reveal of "I'm gay!" for a politically opportune time - once a politician, always a politician. You can expect another big announcement soon after this one once he sees how the blowback is. It's all crafted and cynical. And of course he wrote all that for an article in his hometown journal.
He may be living in L.A. right now but if he has the opportunity to run again - even back home - he will take it.

by Anonymous | reply 131 | March 5, 2020 7:51 PM |
That's probably r111 or Aaron himself, r118. He always has defenders on DL who are either dickmatized fags or partisan Republicans, which includes Russian trolls.
And FWIW, r117, Schock is from Illinois while Buttigieg is from Indiana.
Bill Clinton gets forgiveness because he was working in a much more homophobic time — the 1990s, when Americans knew less about gay people and saw less of us. Combine that with all of the work Bill has done for three decades to eradicate HIV worldwide and the fact that Bill and Hillary privately welcomed, tolerated and hired LGBT staff even in the '90s gives Bill forgiveness. Bill pushed to eliminate the ban on gays in the military, which is more than any president before him could say.
Obama gets forgiveness because he changed his policies and attitudes on gay marriage BEFORE his 2012 re-election, and he's done more for gay rights and visibility than any, other President. He repealed the ban on gays in the military for real. He refused to defend the Defense of Marriage Act and let the courts strike it down. Obama passed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. Obama established a federal task force against bullying and his Education Department hosted summits and strategies to eliminate bullying in schools. Obama ordered HUD to stop any and all LGBT discrimination in housing. Obama legalized benefits for same-sex partners of gay, government employees. Obamacare includes a law against gay discrimination and covers LGBT partners. Obama developed and released the first comprehensive National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the United States. Obama supported the efforts to declare "reparative therapy" un-medical and wrong. Obama funded the Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders to help eldergays. Obama issued a whole host of executive orders and programs to help LGBT people, that Trump has mostly overturned.
And FYI, I never supported Hillary's post-Iraq career. I voted against her in the Democratic Primary in favor of Obama and Bernie Sanders. My vote for Hillary in 2016 was only because Trump is More Evil.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | March 5, 2020 8:03 PM |

I will give anyone who is going to be disowned by his family a pass on living in the closet and acting how the family expects you to. The person has to decide when, if ever, he/she is ready to make the sacrifice of a family. I bet half of this DL community has suffered in that way to some degree and it truly makes me sad. I can't imagine rejecting a child - just another form of torture except instead of physical it is psychological. I am betting Aaron is hurting in a big way - witness all of the acting out this past year and the extreme roid usage that surely will not end well.
I don't believe believing in god forces you to choose between a prayful Christian life or your physical needs. I choose to believe my god loves everyone.
I will sincerely pray for him and those here that can't show him some passion during this time.

Aaron Schock voted against adding sexual orientation to the hate crime statute. He was literally okay with gay men being beaten to death in the streets. What a piss-poor performance. Schock steals from the people and gets off because, he claims, sloppy prosecution, overzealous government agents, and a US attorney afraid to deal with the repercussions of same, while we all know it was quid-pro-quo for keeping his mouth shut about his dalliances with even more powerful closeted men in DC. He runs around like every other instahoe (emphasis on the ho part), prostatuting [sic] himself to any wealthy man anywhere in the world, and does absolutely nothing to make up for the fact that he voted against equality, marriage, and employment and housing protections. And then he tries to throw out the old Obama and Clinton were opposed to marriage equality too(!) as though it means nothing that both evolved in a timely manner that had a direct and dramatic impact on the outcomes of multiple issues.
Typical Republican hypocrisy.
And that goes for you too, R146/R149. Stop with the Obama lies. It's unbecoming and fails to make your point.

R34, his letter lacks accountability and it’s quite obvious he hasn’t taken on the main criticisms against him into any consideration. It’s fair to say, in the bigger picture, he has learned nothing. Us gays would be more receptive to him (insert “he’s not a top” joke here) had he should that he has evolved as a person in the context of his political choices. Instead, it’s a coming out story about a guy who is a snake and shows no indication that he has changed. It’s disappointing.
But when you’re born with his advantages, you don’t understand that empathy and respect are earned and not bought or handed over to you. So all of this shouldn’t be surprising.

Personally, I think he believed him sharing his "mommy doesn't like me" and "but Obama" excuses were bs. He doesnt apologize, he just makes excuses. I'm sure, he's never had to actually take responsibility for anything he's done wrong and thinks that they gays love abs, therefore we'll welcome him with open arms.
He needs to make his social media private, and fade away to a place where only his equally putrid friends can find him. But I doubt he can stay away from the public eye though, he needs attention to live.
I hope the major mainstream media ignores him, and no one gives him an interview to tell "his side of the story". Any apology from him now will only be because of backlash to his drivel he had published today. Lord, this fuckwad makes me angry.

r70 or anyone else, what is a "gay Capitol Hill list serve". Like is that an old fashion gossip group or a coded paper? I am very intrigued. I can believe that a video exists, because when we heard about WeHo queens passing around Schock's beautiful pictures (yes, his body and hole were hot) it eventually leaked (just like his hole these days).
I'm wondering why a video would make him come out when already has vids of him jerking off a man in public, putting dollars in a striper's g-string, and presenting hole? If it exists, please let it be with one of his Indian benefactors. It would be so rich.

He led successful efforts to get the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act passed as head of the National Republican Party. Later he retired, came out and moved to the Mercantile Building on West 24th Street in Chelsea and thought he would be welcomed.
Instead, we walked up to him on the sidewalks and spit on his shoes. Finally someone approached him in a local restaurant and dumped a plate of hot pasta in his lap. He finally got the hint and moved to the Upper East Side.
To his credit, I'll admit that he campaigned heavily to get anti-gay marriage laws overturned in New York State before the Supreme Court national decision but he will never be forgiven.
Never.

I was driving home to Peoria to make Easter eggs and hot cross buns with my mama (which is not a Downton Abbey reference because I don't even know what that is) and it was so hot as I drove through the desert, I took off all my clothes to stay cool. But it was still so hot that I was forced to put some cooling aloe vera gel on my anus, as one does. And to do this, I pulled off to the side of the road, where there was a music festival, and another naked man suffering from the heat was lying on the ground, so I got out to check on him, as any responsible person would do. And as I checked on him, I straddled him, because I have a wide stance and considering I might have to do CPR, which any Christian do goobder should prepare for. And as I leaned in to check his pupils, he had a seizure, and as he writhed, he forced his penis into my anus! And that is how I found out I was gay.

r208 well omeone had to keep Paul Ryan warm on those cold DC nights. It's always suspect when a rich man that spends anything over 2 years in DC to leave his wife and kids halfway across the country. And I don't buy that he was home every week because Ryan was always flying around doing fundraisers. Ryan was fucking someone. Of course, LSA had a source saying a black intern, no one was praising it like sexual fantasy, so it could be true. Our wonderful DC Intern hinted at someone like Ryan, but I think he clarified his hints which re-directed us away from the former Speaker, but I'd love to be wrong.

[quote]Illinois Rep. Aaron Schock resigned Tuesday, less than 12 hours after POLITICO raised questions about tens of thousands of dollars in mileage reimbursements he received for his personal vehicle.
[quote]Schock billed the federal government and his campaign for logging roughly 170,000 miles on his personal car from January 2010 through July 2014. But when he sold that Chevrolet Tahoe in July 2014, it had roughly 80,000 miles on the odometer, according to public records obtained by POLITICO under Illinois open records laws. The documents, in other words, indicate he was reimbursed for 90,000 miles more than his car was driven.
In the closet , out of it, whatever.
Standard mileage reimbursement today is .55/mile.
.55 x 90,000 = $49,500

R318 This has been discussed and documented ad nauseam on older threads. There’s a ton of evidence to suggest Schock and Ryan were cozy to say the least, and intimately familiar with one another. I personally believe Ryan exploited his network to help get charges against Schock dropped. Ryan gave up his speaker of the house status and slinked away into the shadows, and very shortly thereafter over 20 felony charges against Schock were suddenly dropped and Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were complicit in doing damage control for Schock. None of this is normal.
One thing that I find extraordinary but which tends to be dismissed is this TMZ video. Everything about it is strange, including:
—Schock is in a gay Florida neighborhood, Ybor City.
—This is not a place TMZ paparazzi hang out. It isn’t. And yet, Schock was trailed there by a TMZ camera guy who recognized the junior congressman.
—Take a second to register that: Paparazzi who trade in celebrity photos and footage were hanging out in Ybor City, Florida AND they recognized a then-little-known congressman.
—Schock greeted them with a big smile and was eager to talk, supposedly closeted and well aware he was in a gay neighborhood WITH GAY SEX SHOPS VISIBLE IN THE BACKGROUND.
—Of ALL things the paparazzi could ask him about, they asked him about Paul Ryan, and his answer AS A CLOSETED GAY MAN was that Paul Ryan has a hot, hard body and he should wear tailored suits to show it off.
My conclusion, and scoff all you like but I would put money on it, is that Schock orchestrated the “random” interview. He identified the setting. He told TMZ he would be there and to be there with a camera. He told TMZ to ask him about Paul Ryan. And he made certain to imply that he is intimately familiar with Ryan’s body under his clothes. This was a threat to Paul Ryan from Aaron Schock. It was a public flare to get Ryan’s attention and let him know that Schock was entirely willing to talk about their intimacy. It was blackmail. Ryan eventually quit being Speaker of the House. (NO ambitious politician would do that except if afraid, and he is not principled enough to quit because of Trump. He endorsed and supports Trump.) And right after he quit, charges against Schock were dropped.
Yes, someone in that position of power, third in line to be president, can pull strings to make that happen.
Aaron Schock is a sociopath. He is an opportunist. He uses his sexual appeal to seduce men and he uses homophobia, with he understands inside and out, to his advantage.
This guy has the same type of personality as a seductive killer like Jeffrey Dahmer, and people who sympathize with him are his prey.

Bingo r324. I say this again, Paul Ryan was in DC for nearly 2 decades, his family NEVER moved to the town. Despite his wife's considerable wealth, she stayed in his district (maybe that's good politics) while he remained in DC. Even with flights home on the weekend, I assume he was fucking someone. The DC Intern already said that Shock was a hoe that would use his staff to round up hot new gay/closeted Republican interns on the Hill. He was also fucking prominent conservative big wigs, like Pastors that give millions to their pool boy. Shock was a great fundraiser for the Party, as was Ryan. They would have spent a lot of time together one way or another. Ryan slept in the same buildings that Aaron worked in, easy to get around and fuck. Ryan worked out with Aaron in the morning so they were somewhat close.
I'm wondering if a lot of closet cases were a part of this sleep in your office crew, especially the wealthier representatives.

Besides, the pitchfork bearers are scaring other closeted gays further into the closet. Aaron is easily the most soulless example we have, but everyone has regrets for things they did out of fear while being closeted. Those still living in that fear need reassurance that they can move past those “sins” and lead better lives not histrionics from homosexual avengers.

To be honest I have a little bit of sympathy for him. If his family (especially his mother) are refusing to accept his sexuality even now, then you can imagine how bad it must have been for him while he was growing up.

It’s clear, Aaron didn’t learn “the lesson of the closet”. Too bad for him. He deserves his life. He’s too old and too privileged to be playing the “coming out is hard” card. Like Spacey, coming out is just another disingenuous machination to avoid the truth not an embrace of the truth.

The problem is NOT that he was closeted. And no one has said that.
The problem is the actions he took to hurt other gay people while he was closeted.
Don't conflate the two. Very few closeted gay men ever go out of their way to make life worse for other gays.if they are doing that, I don't care if they're too scared to come out.

I am shaken and enraged by this tepid declaration. Schock worked very hard to deny being gay and depriving gay people of their rights and security, and by extension threatening their well-being. No apology? No statement of abject regret? He should have had the decency to kill himself and leave this tepid coming out statement in a suicide note.
I don't usually use the term f@ggot as a term of derision but if ever one existed it is him.
by Anonymous | reply 367 | March 6, 2020 2:34 PM |
Adam did what "proper" political gays are supposed to do. Marry an attractive beard and have your gay sex DISCREETLY.
Aaron couldn't help himself. He had to fuck reporters, DC randos, his staff photographer, and his interns. The GOP was annoyed with all that and that's why they let him take the fall.
by Anonymous | reply 368 | March 6, 2020 2:36 PM |
This is probably hard for many to accept, but coming out gay is likely not the darkest closet Aaron has been struggling with. If he truly is a whore, an enabler of GOP corruption and a felon, gay was probably the easiest and most acceptable closet for him to come out of.
That seven page statement was not that of a man for whom a burden has been lifted. That was pure ego defense dodging. He’s got many more skeletons he is not facing whether they are being abused, abusing, both, HIV, criminality, Aaron is a long way from clearing his conscience and probably never will.
by Anonymous | reply 369 | March 6, 2020 2:46 PM |

[quote] Reminder that if prosecutors hadn’t completely botched the case, Aaron Schock would likely be in prison for using your taxpayer money to pay for massages and Katy Perry tickets.
Prosecutors did not botch the job, as part of his defense to legitimate charges he was going to come out during the trial and claim anti-gay bias. Prosecutors made inquiry regarding his sexual orientation and were planning to use his apparent homosexuality and attempts to hide it as his motivation for illegal acts. However, it would have played like anti-gay bullying in front of a Chicago jury. So prosecutors dropped the case. He is 100% guilty of the charges.
He claimed he'd never seen "Downton Abbey" but now we know he is a brazen liar.

Setting aside that he's a lying, grifting, sociopathic hooker, what I'm curious about is the average person of Peoria that voted for him. Do they have ANY self-reflection at all as far as voting for the GOP? Do they stop and say "gee, why do I keep voting for this party when they allow these lying criminals to keep ripping off the taxpayer"? Or do they just ignore it all and keep doubling down on Republicans, making excuses , ignoring reality, and somehow blaming Democrats?
It would be kind of fascinating if it weren't so infuriating.

The highest cause of death among teenagers is suicide. Most of that is LGBT youth that struggle with their identity. Schock did everything in his power to make sure gay people stayed ostracized from society. The suicides of gay youth didn't matter at all to him. I don't see why we need to be worried about him.
by Anonymous | reply 390 | March 6, 2020 3:58 PM |
The only gay rights that matter to Aaron are the ones with abs and hard dicks to be fucked by. He cares not for our people at large. Only the ones he can screw and be photographed with.
by Anonymous | reply 391 | March 6, 2020 3:59 PM |
But you are worried about him. You are more interested in getting your pound of flesh than whether extracting the price will cause more suicides from teenagers who feel they are just as despicable as Aaron for lying to their girlfriends, mocking gay classmates and disappointing their parents.
by Anonymous | reply 392 | March 6, 2020 4:02 PM |
No one cares if Aaron lied to a girlfriend or disappointed his parents. Every gay man has been through that. We DON'T hurt other gay people. If you are a term who is bullying other gay teens you should absolutely feel bad about yourself for it, stop, and apologize. Being closeted doesn't automatically excuse anything you do while in the closet.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | March 6, 2020 4:05 PM |
And Aaron is not some vulnerable teenager. He was 30 when he entered congress. He wasn't living with his his parents

It’s easier to parse the differences when you are on a righteous crusade than when you are in the closet, alone and feeling bad about your life. But you do you. You seem to have practiced a lot at that.
by Anonymous | reply 395 | March 6, 2020 4:08 PM |
R393 I'm not sure how my expressing my opinion about hypocritical politicians has anything to do with LGBTQ+ youth. I can assure you, Aaron's done more damage being IN POWER than I do talking to your ass on fucking DL. Don't make assumptions of anyone's intent or influence, especially when the only think you know about them is the words you read on a fucking message board.
But keep defending the motherfucker. He won't bend over for you. He won't save you. And if you think he'll genuinely vote in your favor, well then we can stop the conversation right there.
Also, if deriding Aaron Schock gets more gay youth to be honest about who they are before turning into monstrous political hypocrites, well then dammit I think we should do it! We want LESS Schocks. Not more!
The fuck are these defenders on about? Like, what's their ultimate goal? Because their logical conclusions are absurd, so I assume they're making them dick in hand. He's 38 and living a lifestyle that's going to age him faster than age alone. Soon even that crowd will only let him exist on the fringes for awhile more. Look at the humiliation he's heaped on himself thinking this is what it means to be gay. There's nothing he can do to make amends. He hasn't got time. He should enter therapy, understand himself and just live his own life. But here's a damaged queer who needs approval. I can't imagine he'll ever be happy.
by Anonymous | reply 399 | March 6, 2020 4:11 PM |
R368 yes AS was a sex hound, he loved sex. He was a young hot white guy with a rock’n body and an insatiable libido. And once he moved to DC he was free to explore all of that, whenever and with whoever. And that made keeping it both discrete and minimal, problematic. And that was a problem for the GOP establishment. And eventually it became too much and they had to move on and hang him out to dry.

Of course they wouldn't because no one wants to fuck him! This is how cults work by the way. A significant number of the followers want to fuck the leader. That's what we're seeing here amongst the defenders. This is the Shockian cult on the rise ladies and gents, and what they worship are white abs and dick. THAT'S IT! They have no genuine perspective, no values, no understanding of the nature of their god. They just worship him 'cause they wanna cuuuuuuuuuuuuuum.

His overwhelming fear of his family and friends finding out about him, are the reason he voted against civil rights. It was part of the smoke screen. And look what happened. They disowned him, just like he feared they would. It was self preservation as long as it lasted. He came from a homophobic super religious family. We all know this story. It's almost cliche. That's the power of religion and the power of having blind faith in a cult that established it's "rules" thousands of years ago!

SCHOCK makes us less. We're critiquing HOW he makes us less. We're not critiquing being closeted, or being scared, or even lying about it in certain instances, but to run for office and vote for restrictions on yourself and people like you is disgraceful. It's disloyal. It's betrayal. THIS is what we're critiquing. THIS is separate from ANYTHING that has to do with the struggles of LGBTQ+ youth.
So don't sit there acting as if you're above us. You're not. Your inability to see the nuance of the situation, or even accurately comprehend what it is we're even goddamn saying, is reflective of your own limitations.

by Anonymous | reply 420 | March 6, 2020 4:36 PM |
I was merely suggesting we temper our vitriol through a filter of how it might be viewed by people we actually want to help and not just those we want to hurt. We making the same mistake Bernie’s followers make in believing because we are “right” we don’t need to be kind or welcoming. Sorry to offend.

[quote] His overwhelming fear of his family and friends finding out about him, are the reason he voted against civil rights. It was part of the smoke screen. And look what happened. They disowned him, just like he feared they would.
This is revisionist history by the schock worshippers. When he was in DC he had sex with dozens of men. And not discreetly, he literally paid for one of his lover to follow him on a delegation to India. He was fucking one of his interns, a kid barely college age who could have run blabbing at any minute. That is NOT someone who is paralyzed with fear that he will be found out. He knew he liked cock and tried to get as much as he could.
He just thought he was better than us lowly, non rich gays and didn't consider himself part of the group he was hurting. Now that the GOP dropped him like the trash he is, he wants us as his back up choice. Too bad bitch. We don't want you.

I WISH all Aaron did was say mean about gay people on a private forum instead of using his power to decrease their quality of life.
by Anonymous | reply 423 | March 6, 2020 4:39 PM |
Are we also going to reject closeted frat boys who decide to “use us as a backup choice” or is this just ex-members of Congress or just felon ex-members of Congress or just felon ex-members of Congress who write disingenuous coming out statements or just felon ex-members of Congress who write disingenuous coming out statements and maintain their Support of Trump/GOP ? I do know Aaron has failed regardless of the standards but I would like to know where our forgiveness does begin.
by Anonymous | reply 424 | March 6, 2020 4:46 PM |
I didn't read anywhere his family disowned him. He only said his mom told him not to come home for Easter.
My family gets together on easter, and I make a visit to my home church with them. Maybe telling him to skip the visit was for the better, after the Coachella pics went viral.
Imagine the awkward family conversation...

[quote]R400 that was a problem for the GOP establishment. And eventually it became too much and they had to move on and hang him out to dry.
It’s not like they framed him. He racked up the felony charges all on his own, ripping off government funds.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | March 6, 2020 4:52 PM |
R424 do keep up. None of those things have anything to do with it. The problem is that he used his power to hurt other gay people. I knew plenty of closeted frat boys who didn't do anything like that. I slept with several in college. Sure some didn't acknowledge me afterward because they were freaked out trying to sort through their indentity, I get that. I can feel sympathy for that. But none of them tried to mess with me or any other gay people on campus either. If they had I absolutely would have lit into them with righteous fury and probably outed them.
And for anyone to even consider forgiving Schock he needs to be sorry. He needs to acknowledge what he did and say he regrets it. He has chosen not to, likely because he doesn't feel any remorse at all. That's not the fault of anyone on this thread. If anything it's the fault of you people who just keep making excuses for his deplorable behavior.
You should redirect some of the energy you're wasting on us and try convincing him to apologize.

He is making this announcement in his own self serving timely way. The gay community needs to take a stand and DEMAND some type of accounting for the damage he did to the community. Let it all play out in the court of public opinion.
Let it be known that those who party, travel, dine, and enjoy sex with him are pariahs as well. I would even go so far as to OUT his drug dealer.

He's a sociopath and has no feelings other than being a thief, grifter and con artist. We can try and no one should give up trying to get him to admit what he did against gay people while serving in Congress was wrong and he needs to explain himself and be held accountable..
Also, what is this nonsensical sob story (lie) of him being disowned? By whom? Did I miss another news report? Did I miss something among all the recent pics of him with his family, etc.?

So which DL bitch edited Eliad Cohen’s Wikipedia page in the last 24 hours? You are my new hero!
———— Cohen is openly gay[5] after coming out to his parents when he was twenty years old.[9] Currently dating disgraced Republican ex Congressman, Aaron Schock- who voted against every pro gay piece of legislation during his term in office. Schock recently came out and it's been revealed he and Cohen have been involved for several months, though during this time, Schock has been very active on gay hook apps and making masturbation videos to send out to prospective conquest. I guess we can assume it is an open relationship. Many gay rights activists are boycotting Cohen events because of this.

R492 I *think* people in NYC would be a bit more hostile toward him. The NYC Housewives has revealed that there are a lot of elite, addicted, unethical Republican money whores in Manhattan and the Hamptons who publicly represent themselves as socially liberal—but among the gay men of New York, I really do think Schock would have a much harder time finding guys to fawn over his puffed-up body than he does in LA, where literally nothing matters as much as appearances. It is their moral value and their cultural ideal out there.

Aaron Schock is amazing... the perfect symbol of the tension in the life of gay men. He is odious, without one redeeming quality that matters, yet some are still drawn to him. What does it say about us that some can still want him even if he is disgusting in ways that should squash anything attractive about him? Do we all have an Aaron Schock in our lives and imaginations? Is he the monster in the closet when we go to bed at night? Meantime, across town at , Samantha was doing some hate fucking with at the cast party for the first national tour of Anastasia.

[quote]What does it say about us that some can still want him even if he is disgusting in ways that should squash anything attractive about him?
It simply further supports the stereotype that we gay men are shallow and without substance. It doesn't matter what Schock did in the past--"It didn't DIRECTLY affect me!" Schock has a perceived power and access to wealthy people. He has been to places and events that many of us will never see unless...through him we just might have a chance to see those things.
It's about "me," "me," "ME!" and rarely about "we," "we," "we."

He's just a hooker now. He has no connections. He was a two term congressman. Nothing impressive. And the small amount of time he was in DC he spent getting fucking, not even doing anything useful to his long term prospects.
He goes to those donor events to find clients. He makes enough to support himself with the Indian millionaires but I'm sure he'd prefer work closer to home.

As posters above has stated, he still supports the Republican party and fund raises for them. The party that has never once done anything for us and who, to this day, has barred gay groups from the national convention. Not to mention all of the other disgusting policies of the Republican party.
If he can't see the hypocrisy in that, then he is and always will be a POS. I'm pissed off that he lives in a liberal city and is enjoying his life as an open gay man with little backlash (outside of what he created himself).
It's disgusting these gay Republicans that live in liberal centers enjoy all the freedoms that come with being in a liberal area, and then actively vote against it. Assholes - every one of them.

[nope] He's still a behind the scenes player in the Republican Party, what do you think he was doing at Trump's event? Donors still like to use him for connections and his hole.
He is persona non grata in political circles. There are younger, prettier, smarter, non-closeted Republicans who did not illegally use campaign funds. The kingmakers are looking at them now. Cockgobbler's cachet and prospects have shrunk in inverse proportion to the prolapse of his heavily-trafficked hole.
by Anonymous | reply 535 | March 7, 2020 7:53 PM |
Exactly. Those donor functions aren't that hard to get into. A ticket could be as little as $300. Too much for most regular people to spend frivolously but more than worth it to schock. If he found one new client there, the ticket would pay for itself the first night

R477 - I am most disgusted by the large number of people in the gay community who embrace him and are his friend.
“The Community” for a large part couldn’t give a flying fuck about any of this. So what, he was a shitty person and was morally corrupt and was a hypocrite and was a liar. Not really what matters, never has been, never will be. Gurls just wanna have fun. Please don’t bore me with real life, I’m headed to Coachella.

People should be protesting at Barry’s Boot Camp every fucking day. Those scumbags are just as complicit.
They’re not complicit, they’re just his cumdump buddies. Barry’s WeHo is hot bed for that.

This thread is still running? Wow... Some of you (or, someone) is obsessed by this guy.
Look... this isn't hard to understand. Aaron Schock and his coterie are the 1% of the gay community. I'm not only speaking about just money and power either. This is the group of gays who can "pass." Think of them like those who are Black but can pass for white. It's the same concept here. This group couldn't give a shit about gay rights, etc because (in their minds) they are not affected by them. They are above all of that.
I'm even willing to say that the gay community will get more empathetic actions and money towards our civil rights and causes from straight people than this group of gays. You see... they don't consider themselves a part of us. They can pass. Do a bit of research (and it won't take much) you will find that this group gives very little money or participation towards any gay causes and charities. These are the Dick Jenrettes, the Peter Theils, those hoteliers that hosted a fundraising dinner for Ted Cruz, the CEO of Barry's Boot Camp, etc. You see... they don't view themselves as part of us and our community. To them, we represent nothing more than an opportunity for marketing, exploitation, and an easy buck. Can anyone name for me a few (Heck! even one) gay specific charity and/or organization that Peter Theil has given substantial money to? This group needs us when it works for them ie our votes. etc and not when we need them the most. So! As another poster pointed out above, gay people REALLY should and need to be reflecting upon who truly are our friends and our foes. Aaron Schock will always find someone to fuck or get fucked by. That's not hard--especially from the many comments here. But, always remember that he really doesn't consider himself to be one of us. We're beneath him as far as he is concerned.

An open letter to former GOP Congressman Aaron Schock--You are not welcome here. And not that you asked for our forgiveness, but you don't have it.
Commentary by Adam Sank Thursday, March 5, 2020
Cogratulations on coming out, Aaron. I think I can speak for most LGBTQ people when I say that we can identify completely with the fear, loneliness, and struggle that come with speaking one’s truth.
Like you, many of us faced criticism, scorn and rejection from our families when they found out the truth about our orientation or identity. Some queer people have faced far worse than the things you describe, up to and including violence and murder.
What we cannot identify with is your becoming a U.S. Congressman and then voting against LGBTQ rights while you were in office. You didn’t just “take the position” of opposing marriage equality. You actually voted in favor of adding a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
I notice in the lengthy non-apology you posted – the words “sorry” and “apology” appear not even once – that you invoke the names of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as examples of others who opposed marriage equality at the time. Which is true, in terms of the public statements they made during the 2008 campaign.
Except unlike you, they never proposed or voted for the Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. And once they were in power, they changed their position. The Obama administration ultimately supported marriage equality and was instrumental in it being legalized by the Supreme Court.
Even if that were not the case, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are not gay. You are. As wrongheaded as their original position may have been, it didn’t make them hypocrites and traitors to the LGBTQ community. Yours did.
But wait, there’s more: in December 2010, as President Obama was working to lift the ban on gay service members in the U.S. military, you voted against the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. (I notice you omitted that issue entirely in your non-apology note.)
In fact, Aaron, your voting record against our community was so heinous that the Human Rights Campaign gave you a zero rating. Zero.
And yet, for the past several years, you have felt perfectly entitled to show up at our bars, our clubs, our events, and all the other safe queer spaces for which gay, lesbian, bi, and trans people have spent decades fighting and literally dying.
I guess you figured, “Hey, I’ve got a hot bod, so I’m sure they’ll be happy to welcome me here.”
Well, guess what? Aside from a morally bankrupt few, we’re not. You are not welcome here. Coming out does not undo or justify the harm you’ve caused us. Your sad coming-out story opens no doors.
True remorse and a sincere apology might be a first step, as would renouncing the GOP, which continues to be a haven for those who hate and repress queer people, especially in the administration of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
But it’s clear from your statement that you’re not capable of any of those things.
So no, you are not welcome here. And not that you asked for our forgiveness, but you don’t have it.
And speaking for myself, if I ever see you in one of our spaces, you can expect an ice cold drink in your pretty face.

don't be surprised if you start seeing him on Fox "News" in the near future. It doesn't matter that a lot of the hosts and guests/commentators on there are anti-gay. They have on some gay conservatives from time to time. That nutty "walk away" founder and then they have on a former military gay guy both of whom claim to have been formerly liberal but "saw the light" and are now repubs
Schock would fit right in

R566 Ironically, Paul Ryan has much better record on gay rights than Schock. He voted for the bill that would have made it illegal to fire people based on sexual orientation (Cockgobbler voted no). He also voted for a bill that would make it much easier for gay couples to adopt children in states that didn't have same sex marriage at time. (Schock again voted no)
That's part of why I hate him so much. Despite what his defenders say he didn't actually need to be so virulently anti-gay. Other Republicans did vote for this stuff

Aaron Schock came out as gay on Thursday, and a famous former resident of Illinois’ 18th District, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness, isn’t here for it.
“The amount of queens I’m seeing like Aaron Schock’s insta is such a lol,” the star wrote Friday on Instagram. “This man lived in the closet while voting against LGBTQ interests for years.”
“His apology wholly dodged any responsibility in the awful actions he perpetuated against our community,” wrote Van Ness, who has campaigned for Democratic candidates in the past and last year met with Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the Hill.
by Anonymous | reply 582 | March 8, 2020 8:36 PM |
[quote]Reinhart says Schock explained his record as, in-part, stemming from the fact that he still identified and believed he was straight when he was in office. "He said that he did not identify as gay at that time, and it wasn't until years later that he began to explore and understand his sexuality." Schock seemingly echoed the sentiment in the leaked DMs.
BULL SHIT. Schock was taking favors from wealthy gay (closeted) men since he was eighteen. He gave it up to at least one someone.

Someone up thread said not to be surprised if Schock ended up on Fox News. I am assuming this means Schock as some sort of commentator or periodic guest. Well, would this even be possible with all of the Schock's nudes floating around on the Internet? Schock's pics are still out there as is evidence by the numerous his dick, ass and manhole pics on this thread. There is even one of him shooting his jizz. I know Fox is a disgusting piece of shit network, but does even Fox want something like that as a representation of one of its guest commentators?

What makes you think denying basic rights to an entire group of people, even though you believe you’re not one of them, is appropriate?
Good thing you weren’t around for the civil rights movement, Schock, if that’s your basis of thought: I’m not one so they don’t deserve basic rights.
