I've never doubted Brandon was family but he's been messy in how he's talked on the subject. The Variety interviewer was unequivocal in referring to Brandon as gay, even in the form of the interview questions. Brandon used numerous terms

Since when is anyone referred to as an LGBTQ actor? Gay actor, out actor etc., sure.

If he didn't want to do it, he wouldn't be lamenting that he didn't GET to do it. Playing the victim card?

You're not an ally if you're a member of the community, Brandon.

Notice how he couches 'gay' with 'bi' and 'straight.' He's still not commiting to it in this interview, which is his right, but he should have been definite about that or not done the interview at all.
