[quote]I'm disgusted by the behavior of the writer of Slave Play, What a sycophantic, celebrity-worshipping asswipe. Does he have any idea how foolish he sounds when he talks like that? And why on earth would the stage manager have allowed him to hold the curtain? Even if I had wanted to see the play, I wouldn't now, after reading his comments. I don't think he would have anything to say that I want to hear.
Agreed. I liked the play when I saw it Off-Broadway, but the author did come across as a complete asshole in his comments about holding the curtain for Rihanna and replying to her text during the show. Also, the other play by this guy that I saw -- the one with Alan Cumming -- was a POS, so I think the jury's still out on his talent level.
[quote]I know it is not Broadway, but every show I have seen at radio city music Hall starts exactly on the dot
They do, like, six or more shows a day, so they have to!
[quote]"Chasing Rainbows," the Judy Garland musical at Goodspeed, in rehearsal. Mostly, it doesn't look too good. And the kid playing Mickey Rooney is going to regret having his arms tattooed like that. Makeup can only hide so much, and there's no CGI in theater to get rid of them.
The show played Goodspeed a little while ago, but now it's coming up at Paper Mill. I saw an earlier version of it, and it's awful. Agree about that stupid actor with the horrible tattooed arms. Fool!
[quote]The clip from their rehearsal is... much better than most rehearsal room clips that Broadway.com has posted over the years. The musical might be a dud but they at least have it together in the videos
I'm pretty sure it depends almost entirely on the point in the rehearsal period when the videos are made.
[quote]Max had a lovely boyfriend for some years, but it has very recently ended. Max's loss, to be sure.
I'm sorry to hear this. Daniel seemed like a really nice guy, and very handsome.
[quote]Couple hundred people are in Times Sq right now watching the opening night of The Met's "Porgy & Bess" live in the giant TV screens.
That's news to me. How well was it publicized, if at all?
