Connor was so good on American Crime that it’s surprising to see him typecast in niche genres like sci-fi and horror.

Thirdly, since when are sci-fi and horror "niche genres"?? The two biggest shows on Netflix, the world's largest and biggest-budget content producer, are both Sci-Fi shows (Star Trek Discovery and Stranger Things.)

Finally, being cast in the lead role in a new Netflix series is, by some considerable margin, the biggest role that Connor has ever landed.

Well, doing 5 seasons of cable sci-fi series, Falling Skies, didn't typecast him... he went on to do American Crime after all. Locke and Key, which is more a supernatural fantasy, is actually a new genre for him, and working for Netflix. which streams content world wide, is also a new experience for him. It's a step in the right direction for his acting career especially if the show is a hit. And of course, he also can pursue his interest in directing during and after this project. At just 25 in a week, he's got a bright future already so I don't think anyone needs to worry about him.

I woke up to this news. I'm so happy for him, proud too. I've been following his career for years, ever since he did Closet Monster. He has never hidden his sexuality, but it's the first time he speaks of it publicly. Also, I agree with someone who said it takes guts to come out before Locke & Key even premieres. He could have played it safe and waited to see how L&K was received. He didn't, which just makes me love and admire him even more.

Sorry, I know it's an unpopular opinion but I don't think Miles will come out anytime soon. It pains me to say this because Connor seems like such a good guy and deserves a boyfriend who is out and proud like he is. I just get the feeling something is holding Miles back, whether it's a family issue (someone said he's the breadwinner), or career issue (his agent clearly doesn't want him to come out). I think they will continue the relationship in private like they have so far, with the occasional Instagram post.
