If I were writing GH, I would do a Loving murders type of storyline to completely reset the show. Liz would start killing all of the main cast. Then I would do a time jump, then bring in new characters,all interns and residents, and the show would once again be about the lives, loves, and messy romances of the doctors and nurses at a hospital.

All the new characters would be connected to the show's past. Every 13 weeks you would bring in a new medical mystery case for them to solve. Sort of like Grey's Anatomy meets ER meets House.

The cast would consist of:

8 New Residents and Interns

5 New Nurses

1 Hot shot, break all the rules, brilliant, lead doctor to solve the medical mysteries in his 30s

1 Older Mentor Doctor (talk to #1)

1 Older Mentor Nurse (talk to #2)

1 Chief of Staff (Tough, fair, well respected, older character)

1 No nonsense Head of the Nurses (A ball breaker with a secret heart of gold)

1 Chairman of the Board (Conservative, republican, bottom line type)

1 Major Board member/donor (Quartermaine or a Barrington. democrat, liberal, save the world type)

1 Hospital Attorney

1 Young Police Officer/Detective

A show about a hospital doesn't have to be about sick people. It's about the characters in the hospital and how they relate to each other and the patients. A hospital is non stop drama. If you want a show about the music industry, then don't call it General Hospital.

Some of the greatest story arcs they've ever done were decidedly NOT hospital related. There would be no Ice Princess, no Asian Quarter, no Campus Disco rape drama, no Luke and Laura on the run drama, no WSB, no DVX, no Cassadine capers, no ELQ.....get the picture? The hospital can be the entree, but it's the dessert that makes it more fun.

GH also doesn’t have the talent to pull off interesting stories that make you tune in everyday. A lot of the acting, along with the writing, is laughable most of the time.

I disagree that GH needs another murder spree - the last one was so disappointing-Ryan really was the laziest serial killer ever. I like the plane crash idea floated in the last thread. Kill a good 5 or 6 main characters, leave maybe 2 survivors, plenty of storylines about the survivors, how they cope or don’t, opportunities for downward spirals, how other related characters handle the deaths all at once, etc..

Plus, main characters pay checks free up funds for some good writers, and dare I hope a continuity person.

What R59 reminded me of was the beginning of Port Charles. Remember people used to joke that you saw more of the hospital on PC and more of Port Charles on GH, so the names were backward. Of course that was before PC tried to morph into a Passions/Dark Shadows/GH hybrid.

It's kind of a Spanish Downton Abbey? It has been popular all over the globe. And some countries have made their own version. But they kept the same time, etc.

ABC's version is present day, all slick, and probably bad writing. The character that Brian Craig plays is a spoiled rich boy who is a jerk.

The main couple really had some good chemistry, and while incredibly good looking, did seem to have personalities that drew you in. From the trailer, the male lead seems a bit ordinary without much presence.

Rosalyn Sanchez is actually not a bad actress, but it will be hard for her to match the original cold Mother from hell. Although I suspect the big problem won't be her, but the young couple being non-entities and a lot of bad writing. The original also had a fair amount of humor.

Denyse Tontz played Miranda Montgomery in the Hulu revival of All My Children. I really wish that Hulu version had survived, I really thought it had potential....Dixie and AJ practically being the same age aside.

Class clashes remain present in the contemporary storyline, but are less pronounced than in the more rigid past when employees were nearly subhuman servants.

Alicia’s brother Javi (Bryan Craig) differs substantially from its Spanish counterpart. Here, though he is still a jobless womanizer, a physical disability caused by undisclosed circumstances lends heftier emotional complexity to his comfortable life. À la Cinderella, the Mendoza siblings must also endure a stepmother (Puerto Rican performer Roselyn Sanchez) and two stepsisters. Of the latter, Yoli (Justina Adorno) rises as the most compelling character in the periphery since she fails to uphold the family’s beauty standards and is willing to explore her sexuality.

Regarding Latinx representation, ABC’s “Grand Hotel” takes few risks with the Latinos it puts on screen. Although seeing Bichir return to television in a lead role is a welcome gift, most of the cast members are model-like, white-passing Latinos with stunning bodies, or white actors playing Latinos. The use of Spanish-language dialogue is far from ringing entirely organic, but one could consider it progress in the sense that there are longer phrases than just hackneyed words such as “señorita” or “papi.”
