He’s said that he would prefer to go commando rather than wear a cock sock but that wasn’t saying he would do full frontal. He had the chance in both Westworld and Punisher to volunteer. Would the producers say no? Would they have to pay him more money?

The camera should have shown his junk being smushed into the saddle in his nude scene in Westworld. It would have accentuated the stripping of Logan's dignity, his total humiliation, in that moment. Kind of a parallel to Quarterman's nudity power inversion in season two.

Westworld probably would've been our best chance if he was going to do it. I don't think any of the Netflix Marvel shows showed anything other than the occasional ass shot or side boob.

I have a theory based on nothing that he has been filming Westworld and that's why he shaved and fell off the face of the Earth.

Because Just Jared wrote up (and if I remember correctly, also Instagram-tagged) the photos of Ben and that girl from the post-workout-stroll-through-the-park sighting back in mid-April. But, I don't follow Just Jared at all, so is this potentially curious and revealing something, or does Jared actually rarely pay attention to fan sightings of Ben. (But did pay attention to a walk through a park. . . whatever..)

I guess now that The Punisher's cancelled and he's likely not coming back to Westworld anytime soon, he needs to do cons for the $$$.

I dunno, I'm still doubting the 'no more westworld' notion. Since February he's been rocking a 'pretty clean shaven for him' look and wearing his hair differently than normal. But then he did that audiobook recording. And since then he's grown the beard back out and his hair looks more like it used to. And now he's doing a bunch of cons all over the place. Could it have been a months long phase where he tried a different look but he's back to "normal" now? Of course. Or could he have been maintaining that look because he was filming something, and now he's done and free to look and do/work as he pleases? Still possible in my mind. But I'm sure he'll share the truth with us Any. Day. Now. so don't worry.

He did do that interview where he claimed he's had to maintain certain looks for projects for so long that he couldn't remember the last time he chose a haircut for himself. It's possible he's been working on nothing since December (or whenever Gold Digger wrapped) and decided to try the short hair/clean shaven looks for ~himself.

I don't doubt he can come back to Westworld, I just don't think it would be a big part if he came back now, especially with that new trailer. They're filming WW till late October, I think, so if he hasn't already, I guess there is still plenty time for him to come back and maybe that's why he's let his hair/beard grow out a bit.

Certainly could be in Venice. The only 'question' I would have about that is he stopped posting "vacation photos" a few days ago. He did the good morning from Monte Carlo shirtless shot. Tomorrow is Ben's father birthday. So maybe he has return to England to celebrate it with his parents, or maybe he is in Italy with the rest of the family. I remember an interview which Ben said that in a birthday of his dad they was in Italy, celebrating it. Maybe is like a tradition. I did the virtual con stuff. Not a one on one, just the meet and greet and the q and a. Nothing too exciting. He wore a cowboy hat for a good chunk of the meet and greet, which looked amazing. He wasn't allowed to take the actual hat from Westworld, so they gave him another black hat. He also showed off his guitar from Jackie and Ryan (this whole thing was about showing props from movies and stuff) and tried to play it. He comes off as somehow both charming and gregarious but also shy and insecure at the same time. He kept asking if he was "doing this right" or "interesting enough". He would sometimes accidentally speak over the translator and then he'd always wince and cover his mouth. I didn't get to ask my question (I had a few ready). He made a big show about looking at everybody's little zoom squares as much as he could. At the q and a, someone mentioned that their 5 year old daughter's favorite song was Birds Fly from Jackie and Ryan, and then she came on and sang it for him. He flipped out. He said it was the best thing that's ever happened with a fan ever, or something like that. It was quite cute. I'm trying to think if there was anything else of note. The fans were very respectful this time, no major gushing or perverting on him, though one of the last people to ask a question mentioned his eyes and he said something like "well now you've gotten me all embarrassed". He seems like genuinely kind guy, unless he's a great actor, and we all know that he's not. I think he has DEEP insecurity though. It reminds me of the way Jimmy Fallon absolutely needs people to like him. I think Ben has the same thing.

I agree that Ben is deeply insecure, which is I guess why he always seems so terribly impressed when anyone even remotely famous gives him the time of day, even C list reality show stars. I think it's mostly everything we've already heard. He elaborates on his broken foot story a bit more. It made him pass out and his brother had to slap him. He opens up about his feelings quite a bit, especially concerning his failure in Dorian Gray. Also an interesting tidbit about his audition for Twilight, and why he thinks he didn't get the role. I've never heard or read him talk about Twilight before. I like that the interviewer got a bit more out of him, but she interrupted him a lot and it pissed me off because a couple times it seemed like he was going to elaborate on something I wanted to hear, and then she'd change the conversation. We should start a counter with all of the times he says "is still one of my close friends to this day". This man has bountiful "close" friendships! Oh, and he talks about the whole babysitting in Hollywood thing. AND he mentions auditioning in a man's hotel room! So yeah, I'd say it's worth it, if you're willing to sit through some of the same old same old.

He seems absolutely miserable being stuck at home. When you start the podcast by saying "today is a good day", that's probably not good. I get the feeling, based on all the things I've seen and read recently from him, that he really wants to settle down. Well Marty's mom tries to bang him. Please don't let that be it. Ben does talk about his mom A LOT. Also in relation to her "love advice" in particular. I've been meaning to watch that movie again, partly because of Ben's obsession. I haven't seen it in over 20 years, so I can't fully analyze yet.

Anybody wish they could have seen Ben's performance in The History Boys (right before he bailed on them for Caspian)? I've never seen or read any version of that play, but I have read something about his character being sexually provocative, bisexual, obsessed over by men (and boys) and women, and I think he has an affair with a teacher or secretary or something? Not only would that have been very fun to watch Ben do, but I get the feeling he might be a better stage actor than film actor. I really hope he goes back on the stage after this covid stuff calms a bit more and there actually is theater to do. He hinted on swinging BIG for a musical on the West End right before it all happened. He didn't NOT get the part, it just shut down. So maybe after? Or something else? Yeah I think he just has horrible allergy issues. He sniffs in almost every interview. I see him as a party drug guy only, probably gives into peer pressure because he's obsessed with people liking him, but otherwise seems like a total goody goody. He looks around a lot, I've noticed. He doesn't like to look straight at the camera, during zoom calls. And he fidgets with his sweatshirt a lot. I think he's just more anxious in general than he lets on.

The thing I noticed in the interview was that at one point he got a tad melancholy and mentioned about life being short, which seems to be a reoccurring theme these days for him. Did someone close to him, and possibly closer in age to him die recently? An old childhood friend or something? He is obsessed with this now. Maybe it's just too much self help podcasts.

So I was bored the other day and read an old article that I followed thru some links, and it was Amanda Seyfried talking about how hilarious BB was to work with in The big Wedding, and she mentioned that their exes (Tamsin for him, Josh Hartnett for her) were now together.

So apparently at one point he actually did date that woman?

I think the fan fraus & who-dated-who websites have pretty much accepted that they dated for about a year, 2009/2010 ish. Round about when she went down to visit ‘her friend Ben’ for a week in Australia when he was filming the King Caspian film. I haven’t seen this but apparently there’s an interview from one of the Killing Bono launch promo’s where the interviewer says to him ‘and your girlfriend’s in Ireland right now too, isn’t she?’ She was filming over there or something. Ooops - didn’t get the ‘no relationship questions’ memo! Our Benji seemingly looked like fight or flight was kicking in but eventually got out a strangled ‘yes’. Wonder what the split was due to? Her sick of being hidden? Her cheating on him with Josh? I think she met Josh on a film set before she hooked up with Benny boy so make of that what you will.

R579 That’s really funny as there were rumours flying about him & Seyfried during the filming of The Big Wedding. Personally I think that was a ‘showmance’ as she had a revolving door of boyfriends at the time, or else one of his ‘lady friends’ things. When he did his Stand Up for Cancer kissy thing last Valentine’s, he cited 3 of his leading ladies to pick up the baton - Seyfried, Heigl & Lima. They are all married or in relationships but the last two still came back with something, saw nada from Seyfried. Talking of Heigl, my personal conspiracy theory on her is that she got the hots for Ben in TBW but didn’t get any action with him in that movie, and that’s why she got him the Ryan role in Jackie & Ryan. There’s a pap pic of the J&R cast waiting outside a restaurant and in a couple of them, Heigl’s very ‘cougar’ and looking at little Ben like he’s a snack lmao.

Reminds me of kids in school trying to keep in with the so-called Cool Crew (and they’re anything but). I suppose .... he’s out there in La-La Land, having had to move there to have any chance of picking up roles, his family & real friends are back in the UK, and he’s clinging onto any ‘famous’ locals who’ve shown him the least little bit of attention. I think he’s actually lonely. Hence the two recent UK visits which you could class as quite reckless, really.

He has real UK friends still in LA. Kazinsky, Chike, probably others. He must hang out with them sometimes -- after all, somebody is taking his hiking and running pics.
