Smollet can spin it any way he wants but had the state's attorney's office decided that there was insufficient evidence or that Smollett was innocent they would have just dismissed the charges outright. People are forgetting there was an indictment. In fact they say specifically this does not exonerate Smollett.

The State's Attorney who insisted that Jussie Smollett received no special treatment scrambled to find examples of other cases to justify the decision a day after it was made.
