Shocking that no one has thought to ask NPH his thoughts on this drama. I'm sure whatever she has to say would be profound.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 20, 2019 7:28 PM |
NPH is a walking and talking STD.

Because I know I will have to do it at some point. Reposting it now:
Reminder: For anyone starting to feel sorry for Jussie, I encourage you to read this. Especially the last paragraph.
Bringing over this exchange I saw on Part Six. It highlights just how fucking vile Jussie is. Basically a garbage human:
Jussie apparently made the cops very suspicious when he showed them where he was attacked and then pointed to a camera and said “good thing a camera is there to catch it.” Lol (The camera pointed in another direction, so my prediction he did try to stage it all for a viral video was correct.)
We get to see the hate mail, which looks like a preschooler sent it...and they’ve found a bunch of ripped up magazine in the Nigerians apartment. The FBI says thanks.
And Jussie said he was absolutely ready to press charges on his attackers, but then when cops revealed they had the Nigerians in custody he changed his mind.
God the cops must be having a million laughs with this epic moron at this point. He falls into every trap they lay like clockwork. R 566
R 566 that speaks volumes about his sociopathic tendencies. When the CPD told him they had two suspects in custody he was ready to press charges. He had no qualms about sending two innocent white men to prison for this fabricated crime. This guy is a total scumbag. R 585

Sorry R1, I have basically ignored him, but why do you like the news guy so much? I have read his tweets or whatever but do you know this guy (is he gay?)?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 20, 2019 8:22 PM |
I don't have time to read through all 600 posts on the last thread.
Any developments today?

Ah, welcome "I didn't have time to read, please update me" troll. We are now just waiting on the CNN troll to get things rolling.

R11 In fairness to R10, less lazy OPs would've included a brief summary of new events that occurred over the previous thread.

Here's what we have been waiting for, video of the brothers buying clothing worn in the assault.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 20, 2019 8:51 PM |
Great video. The problem is that it, like pretty much all the other potential evidence we know about, implicates only the brothers. It's their word against Jussie's re whether they were acting in concert with him. He may not be quite as dim as we've thought.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 20, 2019 8:55 PM |
I love seeing them try and butch it up in the beauty supply store.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 20, 2019 8:56 PM |
Annnnddd as I predicted, the LaQuan McDonalds lawyer is his first counsel. Mark joined so he can be the face of the legal counsel because they don’t want it out there about the Chicago teams past representation. Somebody should send that in to a few tipsters like TMZ.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 20, 2019 8:57 PM |
If they can get Jussie's financial records they can probably tie in it.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 20, 2019 8:57 PM |
R26 Where did you hear that? Though I'm not surprised.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 20, 2019 8:59 PM |
Are you nuts R26? Don't you think people already know that? Go ahead, send it to TMZ, they would be laughing their asses off.

r24, I think it's probably more like, Jussie's benefitting from the fact that the brothers are equally dim. But yeah, it seems somewhat possible that this case could end up going nowhere due to lack of evidence definitively demonstrating whether Jessie paid the brothers to participate in a hoax or the brothers legitimately attacked Jussie for reasons unknown.

Prosecutors and Jussie's lawyers met today, apparently.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 20, 2019 9:08 PM |
Let's hope it's true, as stated at r35, that there are tons of phone records of Jussie giving the brothers instructions.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 20, 2019 9:09 PM |
These local reporters are hitting it out of the park...Seriously, going around to local stores trying to find the one the brothers bought the supplies from. Literally, a needle in a haystack but they succeeded.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 20, 2019 9:09 PM |

Real journalism in 2019?! Who would have thought?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 20, 2019 9:11 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 20, 2019 9:17 PM |
I picture Jussie in a straitjacket with a ball gag, with a Valium drip in his arm, in a soundproof padded cell in an undisclosed location. That's the ONLY way his lawyers could have gotten this narcissistic blabbermouth to shut up for more than 5 minutes.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 20, 2019 9:18 PM |
I just hope he likes taking it up the ass, that light skinned booty is about to get tore up in the jailhouse!

by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 20, 2019 9:21 PM |
How does it work when someone reports a crime and then refuses to cooperate with police? Can they just work around him, using what the brothers have said? Can the brothers work an immunity deal?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 20, 2019 9:23 PM |
IT'S HAPPENING!!!
BREAKING From Chicago police—

by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 20, 2019 9:25 PM |
Jussie's attempts at street cred haven't done well for him.
A DUI he blamed on his younger brother and paying two Nigerians to pose as rednecks for a fake beating?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 20, 2019 9:25 PM |
I stepped away for an hour and Part 9 closed up shop. But I need to respond to a poster ho accused many in these threads of being racist,
He/she specifically called me out for my suggestion to check Laura Ingraham @ 10PM on you know what channel.
I Purposely said that I had my main TV on CNN for Don Lemon @10. I was so hoping that he would address the issue at least. But as it began to be evident that he might well avoid the subject I noted that Ingraham was going to have a segment on it(which I learned while watching Don on my main TV.)
I am in the pro sports industry. I have a room in my house with 8 TVs specifically for the purpose of being able to view many sporting events simultaneously. If the accusing poster considers my having one of the lesser screens on FNC to be a de facto indicator of my racism and the attendant endorsement of Ingraham he/she is being ridiculous. I wanted to see all the coverage and if that included FNC then so be it.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 20, 2019 9:27 PM |
Are they waiting to tack on the mail terrorism (or however it may be classified) charge? I guess that can be added later.

R103 And Ava DuVernay. But she and the other Twitter SJWs will never admit that it was a hoax and will never delete their tweets. They will just double down and triple down after they come up with a way to say the charges are racist or homophobic.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | February 20, 2019 10:03 PM |
R68 the threatening letter is the FBI’s territory, totally separate from the CPD’s investigation of the fake attack. The FBI is yet to drop their bomb on Jussikins.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 20, 2019 10:06 PM |
Remember, a lot of the FEDERAL part of the investigation re: the letter has been already done. I love how only now the MSM are reminding that it is waiting in the wings, when citizen journalists already had the receipts and the article about it being so far along. No one would pick it up. Now they'll probably steal it for themselves. Cunts
by Anonymous | reply 107 | February 20, 2019 10:08 PM |
Exactly r106 and that bomb is ready and waiting. See the article at R107
by Anonymous | reply 108 | February 20, 2019 10:09 PM |
R105, no need to keep doubling down on his innocence. The simpler tactic for them is to go with the tried-and-true "It Was a Lie That Exposed a Greater Truth" schtick. We're already seeing it rolled out -- for example, in that Advocate article at the end of the Part 9 thread.
The Advocate article also used the angry, accusatory tone that's necessary to put this shit over. Remember, for a narcissist and his enablers, the best defense is a good offense. See also: Trump.

At the pagesix link above, there is a linked story that has video of the brothers buying masks. The amount of cop time on this has been extensive, they are really crossing every T.
I fear he may skate in Chicago. Re: the fed law, the statute specifies mailing it to another person, but he mailed it to himself? Others were exposed. Hopefully he will not be able to blow of federal charges.
Re: what he did to his brother, people like that do not change. Therapy is not gonna change Jussie. There must be so much that is being covered up. Maybe the whole family is like him, happens sometimes. They sound like people in a cult.

Anyone hard-core enough to still be supporting this asshole (Ava Duvarney, Gabby Sidibe etc.) and retweeting that Malcolm X quote is a lost cause. They’ll still be bleating “racist cops! LIARS!!” to the bitter end no matter what the evidence shows.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 20, 2019 10:23 PM |

This story just led the CBS Evening News. So he's officially a suspect and they're actively looking for him. That's a big deal.
R137, he shouldn't be tweeting anything because his location can be tracked through his tweets.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | February 20, 2019 10:36 PM |
R133 I think CWB Chicago said that no perp walks allowed with the CPD, though with the Feds we might get one. But if he's in jail already, likely not. Rip off!
by Anonymous | reply 139 | February 20, 2019 10:37 PM |
You have to remember his lawyer WANTS this to go before a jury. His lawyer got three Chicago cops acquitted for being accessories in the shooting of an unarmed black man. In front of a jury, the slimy lawyers can spin any tale they want. It will be some tear jerker story.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | February 20, 2019 10:38 PM |
r105 see r125 and some fucking idiots on this very thread. What they will do now is say the corrupt CPD tortured this confession out of the brothers. Never underestimate the lengths dipshits will go to to defend their stupidity.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | February 20, 2019 10:41 PM |
R132 I expected as much since the training was Jussie's go-to explanation.
It didn't wok because there's no way he didn't recognize his friends, throught voice and gait and general shape (he knows them as a pair) let alone mistake them for whites guys.
I presume cops have more than the check to go on.
Is Jussie "at large?"
by Anonymous | reply 143 | February 20, 2019 10:43 PM |
From what I have read, the check was for more then what they were owned R143 and it was implied the extra was their acting as muggers.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | February 20, 2019 10:45 PM |
Right, r143, and now is where Jussie will roll on them and claim his friends attacked him and he was so sad to see that he had to go into hiding, etc. I hope he gets fucking pummeled by some black thugs who don't appreciate privileged narcs like him.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | February 20, 2019 10:45 PM |
With that gorgeous cock, he will always be "at large"
by Anonymous | reply 146 | February 20, 2019 10:45 PM |
Jussie should be in Chicago, yes? FOX/Empire tweeted he was still shooting on Empire recently if I'm not mistaken.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | February 20, 2019 10:45 PM |
R145 But wasn't it the case that when he saw it was the brothers they were holding he said he didn't want to press charges? How could he walk that back now?
by Anonymous | reply 148 | February 20, 2019 10:46 PM |
He'll get probation. I'm calling it now. I'm not happy about it, but because he's rich, he'll get a slap on the wrist and we'll be explained how this is a "teachable moment".
by Anonymous | reply 150 | February 20, 2019 10:47 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 153 | February 20, 2019 10:48 PM |
A black jury will find him guilty as hell right off the bat. It’s the white marshmallows that will acquit because of their white guilt and their intense fear to not appear racist at any cost.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | February 20, 2019 10:49 PM |
If he's scheduled on set the authorities will arrest him at the studio. Contrary to the Fox press release, I tend to believe the reports his part has been reduced to little more than an extra.
No way in hell, R150. He's going to do time.

by Anonymous | reply 156 | February 20, 2019 10:50 PM |
R150 may be right. Unless they are able to trace the letter to him, but that's not a sure thing. Also, he sent it to himself so that might not be a crime.

The substance would R157, even if it were fake.
by Anonymous | reply 158 | February 20, 2019 10:51 PM |
Yes r148 and that will come into play. He will say that when he saw it was his friends who mugged him (through the lineup), he didn't want to press charges or some shit like that.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | February 20, 2019 10:52 PM |
R150 is correct. Jussie will be thanked for helping us to start this valuable conversation. But Jussie is far from rich. His show is not a top tv show and nobody knew him before that. He’s not highly paid for Umpire. Especially when you compare it to other shows and actors.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | February 20, 2019 10:53 PM |
R157, as someone mentioned in one of these many threads, he sent the letter to the studio. In doing so he effectively put many lives at risk even though it truned out to be a harmless powder. There are people doing 20 years in Federal prison for the same act.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | February 20, 2019 10:53 PM |
Have they found him yet?
by Anonymous | reply 162 | February 20, 2019 10:53 PM |
R157, he sent the letter to himself care of his studio, so it would have gone thru the mailroom and been handled by all kinds of people. He opened it with someone else (his manager? I forget exactly who) and discussed it with his colleagues. I think you can make the case that he didn't just mail it "to himself."
by Anonymous | reply 163 | February 20, 2019 10:53 PM |
I found an article from the NYT about his “defiant” concert just a few days after the “attack” and it has the juiciest quotes in it — so delicious considering his scam:
Smollett said that although he was not yet fully healed, “I had to be here tonight.” He said he couldn’t let his attackers win, referring to them with an expletive.
Smollett said he was not hospitalized, and that “Above all, I fought back,” inserting an expletive.
That line received the loudest cheers of the night, but the crowd was enthusiastic even before the performance began. The line for entry stretched down the street as fans waited in the rain and activists handed out pamphlets.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | February 20, 2019 10:55 PM |
Jussie, when the cops show up at the studio asking for him:
by Anonymous | reply 165 | February 20, 2019 10:56 PM |
That's right, R160. He helped start the precious fucking conversation. The conversation that SJWs have been using to browbeat and intimidate and bore the living shit out of all of us for years. Ever notice that when someone says, "We need to have a conversation," you always know you're in for some accusatory bloviation?

Grand juries hand down indictments a vast majority of the time because the threshold of evidence is much lower than at a trial, where it's "beyond a reasonable doubt." Grand juries indict based on a preponderance of the evidence.

by Anonymous | reply 238 | February 20, 2019 11:53 PM |
Felony disorderly conduct...
Disorderly conduct charged as a felony may result in an increased punishment. A Class 4 felony may result in a term of imprisonment for one to three years, while a Class 3 felony can lead to a sentence of two to five years. For a Class 3 felony, the Illinois disorderly conduct laws specifically require a fine in an amount between $3,000 and $10,000.
I think some of that mess was due to the police ransacking the apartment looking for specific items.
Nope. That's who got the blame, of course, but it wasn't the police. I used to do collections and appraisals in slummy areas of the city. That's exactly the kind of pigsty I walked into all the time. It's just how some people live. Especially deadbeats who don't pay their bills.. I LOL'd when I saw the early reporting on that. They blamed to cops for trashing the Nigerian thugs' apartment when it probably looked better after they left.

Oh my sides. You sweet summer child. Door to door? Hunted around? LOL. No, honey. This story is everywhere. The girl who sold the two morons the masks remembered them and called the cops who went to the store and looked at the tapes. A slow witted child could follow up on that lead.

R278, my own armchair-psychologist take is that, given his activist family, he was raised to see everything, absolutely everything, through the lens of social justice and oppression of minorities by whites. He obviously was instilled with some kind of savior complex, based on his Twitter bio, that blather about saving the world.
And then that world blew up. Trump was elected. A lot of people had near-psychotic breakdowns after election day. Everything they had ever been told was turned upside down. Everything they ever believed had seemingly been refuted. The impossible, the unthinkable had happened. Most of us got through it and just got on with life, but Jussie was one of those who just couldn't. And it felt to him like the world didn't understand the truth. And he wanted the outer world to do a better job of reflecting his own convictions and acknowledging his own inner feeling of victimhood and despair. And he wanted to be the savior that Told the Truth About Trump and turned the tide. It's just that (in his mind) to tell the truth, he had to lie a lot. But (in his mind) the lies were just a way of showing the truth. And so here we are.

Agree about his enablers, R295.
His thinking is so disordered - for ex. what was the point of claiming to be his teen brother to the cops? Did he genuinely think it would not be found out? Re: the hoax, he did some things to hide it, then really stupid things. There must be so many stories that were fixed and cleaned.

I tuned into CNN to watch Don Lemon discuss this case tonight. He had an opening monologue about it and then had on two lawyers. Okay, so, I never watch CNN so I really don’t know if he’s always like this but —Don Lemon is not smart. He’s not articulate, struggles to ask detailed, thoughtful questions, takes these really long pauses as if he’s thinking very deeply and is about to say something profound and “important.” His two guests were talking circles around him and he would never ask the right follow-up questions. Instead, he would stop them to make a pronouncement that, I guess, sounds epic in his mind but comes off obvious or just stupid.
I will not be subjecting myself to that program ever again.

I think the part that bothers me the most is the hatred and anger he showed when speaking of the attack. It shows he's conflicted and self-loathing. You're half white Jussie so you better come to terms with that part of your history.
R311, remember when Aretha died he was her bestie, too. I wish people would realize cable news shows are just that, shows. He's not a journalist he's a cable news personality who offers personal opinions.

R314 It’s been the lead (or 2nd to lead) story on all 3 network evening news broadcasts for the past few days, so I guess that makes it a pretty major story.
And the charge of Disorderly Conduct is actually their version of filing a false police report, just as expected. And it’s a class IV felony.
We should have a mugshot sometime tomorrow.
by Anonymous | reply 321 | February 21, 2019 3:50 AM |
R318, it’s funny that you mention that because at one point in tonight’s broadcast Don was very clear to point to himself and people on CNN and “cable news” as a journalists while Robin Roberts and her interview with Jussie had an “entertainment arm.” Like, he is participating in some hard journalism, not fluff and pablum (whichbis how I found his show).
He comes off as self-important and very impressed with himself.

R305 Yes I do know the difference, I work in mental health. Antisocial Personality Disorder (sociopath) is also a personality disorder. It's hard for us sometimes to diagnose these two because there is often some overlap and a person can have both disorders. We call them narcissistic sociopaths. With sociopaths there is more of a criminal component especially during childhood/ adolescence, but that's not an absolute. With Jussie, I think he's more NPD than APD because he's so unaware of the consequences of his actions, whereas a true sociopath is not only aware but they like to play at gaming their adversaries.

My mistake r325, I swear I had read on some twitters that people were pissed about Ellen cozying up to Kevin Hart yet totally ignoring Jussie. And yeah the FBI did get involved because of the letter and then when the fake hate crime happened they zeroed in on them. They were already in and investigating the mail threat when the racist homophobic MAGA assault circus popped up. That’s how Chicago PD knew about the brothers, and knew when they boarded a plane back to the US. The FBI was already watching.

Turns out Jussie isn't the first gay jewish hate crime hoaxer that's been caught.
Kerri Dunn, a leftist professor at Claremont McKenna college, tried to frame her white male students for trashing her car (which she did herself). She was sentenced in Dec. 2004 to one year in prison and a $20,000 fine (around $27,000 in 2019 dollars)
Where is Kerri Dunn today, in her mid-fifties? Professor in the Psychology department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, NY. She was allowed back into academia in 2012 and there she cruises along. Apparently there is forgiveness in academia, but only for certain crimes. There was once a wiki entry on Kerri Dunn, but it was scrubbed in 2010.
Ex-shoplifter and mid-late thirties convert to Judaism (sources say from Catholicism)? It was also reported in 2004 that she was a lesbian.
Grand juries hand down indictments a vast majority of the time because the threshold of evidence is much lower than at a trial, where it's "beyond a reasonable doubt." Grand juries indict based on a preponderance of the evidence.
Grand Juries only need find probable cause. Nothing near a preponderance of the evidence standard.
IF you could quantify it:
Beyond reasonable doubt standard - SHOULD be 99% with no reasonable ( as opposed to fanciful ) cause to doubt any of the essential elements of the crime
Clear and convincing standard - 75% - highly probable (e.g., often used in detaining a defendant without bond)
Preponderance standard - 51% - more likely than not (civil cases)
Probable cause standard - 5% - or even less depends on your jurisdiction LOL!

On Wednesday, CNN’s Don Lemon reacted to the latest development in the Jussie Smollett saga by saying Tucker Carlson and President Donald Trump were going to “eat Jussie Smollett’s lunch.”
Smollett was charged on Wednesday for filing a false police report in relation to an alleged Jan. 29th assault that has made headlines.
Speaking on his show about the case, Lemon said that he didn’t think that Smollett’s decision to appear on Good Morning America to talk about the alleged attack was a good move.
He added that the Smollett case will now be used on cable news — and by the president of the United States — for political fodder and to push their agenda.
𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒆 𝑺𝒎𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒕’𝒔 𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅. 𝑻𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒆 𝑺𝒎𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒕’𝒔 𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅,” 𝑳𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅.

Contributor Midwin Charles then stressed that the Smollett case should not be allowed to make it so others are not believed.
“Well, the pushback on this needs to be that the framing cannot be that simply because of this one case, that all the other victims that come forward are somehow no longer believed,” Charles said. “That’s really important.”

Let's say on Sunday the tide had turned. For whatever reason, public opinion had swung in Jussie's favor. Everyone now believes Jussie is telling the truth, and the two Nigerian men are charged with a hate crime, and face up to ten years in prison. But only Jussie and the brothers know the truth. Does Jussie ACTUALLY allow them to face trial? Does he stand by and watch them get convicted without fessing up? I could never, for even a second, be OK with causing an innocent man to go to prison. I can't image any person with a shread of decency is.

R367, I believe he's has shown through his recent actions he is more than capable of allowing the brothers to take the rap, so to speak. The reports initially said when he realized the brothers were the suspects he did not want to press charges but the latest reports look as if they have turned on each other and Jussie is saying the brothers attacked him and he thought they were unknown white men under those masks. I have some terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad news:
Mere days after being beaten to within an inch of his life, our Jussie had regained enough strength to stand tall in open court tomorrow — judgmental eyes of the world staring down his battered cookie-sniffing visage — and expose the malign forces conspiring against him in his quest to save the planet. But now…
But now… (Sorry. I can't breath.)
But now, via properly aimed security camera, we have proof that [italic]they[/italic] have tried once again to silence this righteous voice!!! Haters, there's video this time. Now what?

R416 "Eat his lunch" is an expression which we use down south frequently. Yes it is quite similar to ""eat him for lunch" but in the south we tend to use the former.
Example: I am going to the LSU-Ole Miss game Saturday night. I can't wait to see the Tigers eat Ole Miss's lunch.

I agree though, after all this, he won't do any prison time. IF he confesses soon and apologizes. If he allows it to go to trial. . .

Like I've said before, Don Lemon is just another celebrity slave to political correctness, like Kamala and the rest. Its all a publicity game and people thinking of how they can attach themselves to and capitalize off the story.
Don was very critical of Jussie's choice of GMA, and he even said morning show hosts aren't journalists. So cunty! All the while I know Don was angling for Jussie and his people to cave in and give CNN Tonight an exclusive interview. He just might get it.

R421 I'm not the first to mention this, but I think Jussie wants this to go to trial. Or at least he thinks he does. He probably thinks he can charm his way out of it. I'm sure he is deeply wanting the dramz and the eyeballs. He, like I am, is praying it will be televised. Judging from the statement his LOLyers made to the DM, that's the direction they are going. Then again, this initial grandstanding happens a lot in criminal cases, next thing you know he'll be quietly doing a plea deal when he sees exactly what he's facing.

Don Lemon threw shade at Robin Roberts. He said Jussie needed to be interviewed by “a real journalist” if he wanted to get ahead of this. He said no one watches morning shows anymore, that’s not where the conversation is. Jussie needed to go on cable news where the conversation is happening 24/7 and go on his show “or one of my colleagues’ shows.”

And the first “situation” on the city’s list of recoverable incidents is “the deployment of police to respond and provide service as a result of a person’s false reporting of a crime.”
Trump likely didn’t believe him
Yeah, he's very reticent about jumping to conclusions without all the facts.
by Anonymous | reply 492 | February 21, 2019 1:07 PM |
The interesting part, to me, is the brothers. Did they break laws? Do the Jussie supporters consider them to be victims of the Chicago police? Are they victims of Jussie? Are they villains? Do they count? I can guess how they’d feel if the brothers were white. How do they feel about fellow blacks participating in this hoax?
Harvey Levin is discussing it on FOX5 now, LOL
by Anonymous | reply 493 | February 21, 2019 1:08 PM |
The brothers did not report the crime- Mussie did. If they had any involvement in sending the letter, well that's a different story!
by Anonymous | reply 494 | February 21, 2019 1:12 PM |
When I look at this generation, I see young people fiercely, desperately trying to be good. A righteous fervor is sweeping America, shaming and punishing all who do “evil.”
by Anonymous | reply 495 | February 21, 2019 1:12 PM |
R495, I don’t disagree with you, and it’s an astute observation. But I see a lot of finger-pointing...
by Anonymous | reply 496 | February 21, 2019 1:17 PM |
That's what seemed off about the Jussie story. The MAGA people equipped with some liquid chemical and a noose who know who he is on sight AND care AND also know he's gay
by Anonymous | reply 497 | February 21, 2019 1:21 PM |
That's been pointed out over and over and over R497. More importantly, the fact he kept the "noose" around his neck and that drew suspicion from the police. Just what the noose represents to black people makes it unbelievable he would have kept it around his neck and remember, he said he screamed when he noticed the noose around his neck.
by Anonymous | reply 498 | February 21, 2019 1:35 PM |
lets give the boy some love for havin the guts to try pull this shit off for to git his name in the press more....
but girl u done it all wrong and now u fukd.
by Anonymous | reply 499 | February 21, 2019 1:39 PM |
Two acquaintances of mine still believe Jussie is innocent. They maintain that this is either a set-up by the police, or retaliation by the police for Jussie's refusal to hand over his phone when they first asked for it. They're basically saying that the Chicago police are racist and anti-gay, and that this is their typical behavior.

by Anonymous | reply 501 | February 21, 2019 1:41 PM |
Your friends are idiots R500- did they not watch how carefully the CPD played this? They knew from the start but played it very close to the vest until they had enough evidence...
by Anonymous | reply 502 | February 21, 2019 1:42 PM |
It's often less about being good and more about looking like you're good.
by Anonymous | reply 503 | February 21, 2019 1:44 PM |
Well, Jussie got his wish: He’s now trending and being talked about by almost everyone, including the President. Wasn’t that his original goal with this plan?

Between the mugshot release and the press statement this thread should fill up soon, so what's it going to be for Part 11?
Jussie Smollett Updates Part 11 (Lettuce Prey) Title credit: R481 Part NIne
Jussie Smollett Updates Part 11 (Not Without My Sammich) Title credit: R124 and R126 Part Nine
by Anonymous | reply 506 | February 21, 2019 1:48 PM |
I think Jussie will relish a trial, and will do his best to see that it's as political as it can be with him at its center--a martyr to the cause. Maybe he'll dress in white. His tedious siblings will swarm the talk shows and weekend news programs to talk about their role as a "family of joyful warriors" and Jussie's as a victim of the Rs. I'm sure he's already imagining his political writings from prison, inspiring "gay black boys" to be strong and brave, as he is.
by Anonymous | reply 507 | February 21, 2019 1:50 PM |
R502 Quite so. But posters on these very threads on here seemed to think the CPD were proceeding to release details of their every thought and suspicion such that a few days ago, mid-investigation, when no hoax had been formally declared nor official charges filed, the hoax “didn’t happen.”
The concept that the police would be working behind the scenes and not putting out press releases of their every waking thought about this case seemed to escape some.

His bail hearing isn't until 1:30 CT this afternoon. Jussie may well be made the pass around bottom of the holding cell long before that!

Bishop Talbert Swan: In a nutshell, Black people are disappointed in @JussieSmollett if he lied, but we’re not oblivious to the quick & willing release of info & turnaround in filing charges in this case vs the lies, withholding of info & coverups in cases where Chicago cops murder innocent Blacks.

He should host the Oscars this year. That would perk up the show.
by Anonymous | reply 512 | February 21, 2019 1:53 PM |
R507, that's what sucks about this- he is now infamous (good or bad depending on who you speak to) and his name is known throughout the world. He's a fucking liar, a famewhore who would do but nothing to get attention.
by Anonymous | reply 513 | February 21, 2019 1:53 PM |
R502, one of them is convinced that it's retaliation by the police. He got very upset with me for thinking otherwise, and was shocked that someone like me (black and gay) wouldn't be on Jussie's side. I know how corrupt and disrespectful the police can be, but I still believe that Jussie concocted all this up.
by Anonymous | reply 514 | February 21, 2019 1:54 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 515 | February 21, 2019 1:56 PM |
No "black power" fist? Disappointing. I assume we'll see one when he walks into the courtroom.
by Anonymous | reply 517 | February 21, 2019 1:57 PM |
R514 Maybe you can help me with this. It seems some black people will always be disposed to believe blacks over whites. (And some whites are the same way about believing whites.)
But in this case, there are two black guys and probably 2 or 3 black detectives (Chicago PD is 29% black and there were 12 detectives on this case) saying one thing, and on the other side is just one guy.
So what's the rationale for believing one black guy over several black guys?
Thanks for your insight, because I'm white and there's no way in hell I'm asking any of my black friends this question.

by Anonymous | reply 521 | February 21, 2019 1:59 PM |
R515, yes, I remember that all too vividly. Interestingly, OJ and Jussie have the same permanent vacant, unearned, inappropriate smirk in most of their photos. I think it's diagnostic of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
