It's Turkey Picking Treason (The Mueller Investigation Part 60)

Continued Discussion

If Jenny-O can recall thousands of turkeys for Ebola can't Mueller pick off one for its various infections to these United States?

What does Chris Christie have to say?

Seriously. Some excellent cultural commentary from this era.

R13 January couldn't come soon enough.

by Anonymousreply 14November 19, 2018 12:48 AM

R13 as much as I wish it were true, of course, I’m skeptical. The article also is from October 2017.

by Anonymousreply 15November 19, 2018 12:51 AM

Holy shit r13, stay AWAY from that blog!!! The writer is koo-koo-vile!!!!! I’m serious, just turn around and walk swiftly away.

by Anonymousreply 16November 19, 2018 1:04 AM

Why r16? Mensch is theatrical and ambitious, and tends to put whatever crosses her path in terms of rumor out there as 'journalistic fact'. But fact is, she's been right on many things, she had things up months before the MSM started really looking into them.

by Anonymousreply 17November 19, 2018 2:04 AM

r17...ignore them....there are some seriously deranged Mensch haters her on DL.

by Anonymousreply 18November 19, 2018 2:08 AM

Wait, people like Louise Mensch?

by Anonymousreply 19November 19, 2018 2:53 AM

We don't "like" or dislike her, this isn't high school. We just don't discount everything she writes or says r19. She zeroed in on some key stuff very early on and stayed put on it, even with a lot of blowback.

That doesn't mean she's the second coming of Edward R. Murrow. It means she's no more or less reliable than most of the political commentator on soc media, or even in the MSM itself these days.

by Anonymousreply 20November 19, 2018 3:04 AM

OP I see what you did there with the title! lol. Love it!

by Anonymousreply 24November 19, 2018 4:30 AM

Mensch did not break the Russia and Trump story. We knew before her article that Dotard was working with Putin, hence, "You're the puppet!"

by Anonymousreply 25November 19, 2018 4:35 AM

The question was not if Mensch broke the Russia and Trump story. The question was was she right.

Answer: she was.
And what else? Keep going, cookie clearing troll.

That seems like a rather significant topic in and of itself, moron.

by Anonymousreply 26November 19, 2018 5:07 AM

Sure, Louise.

What else?

You don't seem to have much of an answer.

by Anonymousreply 27November 19, 2018 5:19 AM

Sure, Louise was right about Russia and Dotard... and so were hundreds of other people.

by Anonymousreply 28November 19, 2018 5:20 AM

Exactly. And I love how defensive Louise is. I asked an earnest question and the cookie clearing troll gets bent out of shape. Classic.

by Anonymousreply 29November 19, 2018 5:22 AM

I don't follow Louise, but from what's been said about her, she seems more often wrong than right. Malcolm Nance also seems to hate her.

One story I did find intriguing that she did, that I never heard of again, was her theory about Anthony Wiener being set up years ago. Her theory involved something about the teenage girl either not existing or being coached by someone else and that Hillary's emails were planted on his computer years ago through a virus, with the plan to ultimately do what they did.

That part about the emails being planted sounds like it could have happened. Huma swears she never used his computer for work and that makes sense. How many people use their spouses computers for work, especially when she would have had her own?

by Anonymousreply 30November 19, 2018 5:30 AM

Mueller wouldn't be SAVAGE and indict anyone the week of Thanksgiving would he? I'd be very thankful if he did but I think he's too nice for that.

by Anonymousreply 31November 19, 2018 5:39 AM

I was hoping he would be, R31.

by Anonymousreply 32November 19, 2018 5:47 AM

The only reason I would think they might go forward with something this week is that they might think that Trump, Whitaker, and the other assholes will think that Mueller WON'T do something this week so they aren't paying attention and have all left town. You know Trump is probably already on his way to Mara Lago, Whitaker is ironing his Nazi uniform, McTurtle is going back to the pond, etc.

by Anonymousreply 33November 19, 2018 5:49 AM

Any guesses on how the Senatrice will be spending her holiday?

by Anonymousreply 34November 19, 2018 5:54 AM

Sauced and lubed.

by Anonymousreply 35November 19, 2018 5:56 AM

R31, I’d expect new indictments to come down a week from this Monday or Tuesday. Just a guess based on the ask for 10 day extension before Manafort is sentenced.

by Anonymousreply 36November 19, 2018 6:10 AM

Russia has been saving Tramp's ass for many years. When USA Banks refused to loan him money, the criminals in Russia would and did. Now Trump owes Putin everything and he is paying Putin back by destroying our country. It is a very simple scenario and a very true one. The real problem? Republicans in our legislature and in our courts are allowing it. Could it be because McConnell and Ryan are also as guilty as sin? I believe that is the answer. Who else is completely corrupt? Nunes, Jordan, Grassley and who else? Many repugs owe their off shore accounts to Putin.

by Anonymousreply 37November 19, 2018 6:25 AM

R36, I'm hoping that was a feint on Mueller's part knowing that those ten days would include the holiday weekend so it wouldn't have mattered if he'd asked for a five day extension because that would have effectively been a ten day extension anyway. Why show your cards? Now they think shit will happen after Thanksgiving but he hits them on Tuesday instead!

Wishful thinking with fingers crossed.

by Anonymousreply 38November 19, 2018 6:28 AM

The 10 day extension wasn't for Manafort's sentencing, it's an extension to the date the next status report is required.

by Anonymousreply 39November 19, 2018 6:37 AM

You’re correct, R39. Completely wrong terminology on my part.

by Anonymousreply 40November 19, 2018 6:42 AM
The malignant tumor baby in the WH is now calling Congressman Adam Schiff, Little Adam Schitt on Twitter.

New lows every day of course, but this puerile desperation is astounding. Though a fair warning of how much worse it'll get as Mueller encroaches so stealthily.

Words are pathetic and degrading, but it's actions which are more damaging. His lashing out will surely be deplorable and dangerous.

by Anonymousreply 41November 19, 2018 8:59 AM

The Deplorables would declare Mueller some sort of Grinch for ruining some crooks' Thanksgiving holiday. And apparently Mueller does give a shit about decorum therefore I would be surprised if he sends out any indictments this year (with Christmas being around the corner as well) and maybe waits until the new term of the House starts.

by Anonymousreply 42November 19, 2018 10:22 AM

I’m sorry, but I can sort of understand nothing happening immediately prior to elections. But now we have to delay movement due to Holidays? Really???

by Anonymousreply 43November 19, 2018 10:27 AM

R42 I think it depends on whether the Trumpies dare to push the wrong button with Mueller. You know how stupid and clumsy these over-grown bullies (Trump and everyone left still working for him) are when they go about trying to "outsmart" or "sabotage" the works of grown-ups.

by Anonymousreply 44November 19, 2018 10:28 AM

It's better to be pleasantly surprised than getting your hopes up and be disappointed.

by Anonymousreply 45November 19, 2018 10:33 AM

I’ll wager Mueller is waiting for January when the new Congress is seated. He’ll have a measure of protection against the toddler’s inevitable retaliatory tantrum.

by Anonymousreply 46November 19, 2018 10:36 AM

R46 And the Trumpers thinking this small window is when they could damage Mueller and his investigation might just do something foolish. Never underestimate their level of stupidity. They are cornered rats, after all.

Russian tipped to take over Interpol in Kremlin victory. This is absolutely astonishing, but not without precedent. Nazi Germany took over Interpol in the 1930’s.

by Anonymousreply 54November 19, 2018 12:30 PM

I read somewhere that all Trump has on his schedule today is to get a Christmas tree and have lunch. He literally does NOTHING. Who knew that if someone wanted it to be, the office of the President could be the easiest job in the U.S.

Does he even get a PDB anymore or has that also been chucked along with certain sections of the U.S. Constitution?

by Anonymousreply 55November 19, 2018 12:48 PM
Does he even get a PDB anymore

by Anonymousreply 58November 19, 2018 2:02 PM

by Anonymousreply 63November 19, 2018 2:59 PM

by Anonymousreply 64November 19, 2018 3:00 PM

I'm on both sides and see no real point in debating Mensch. She IS certifiably crazy, and certainly unreliable, but yes, she has been right with some of her claims that seemed ridiculous by some at the time. This was an example.

I didn't mean for this thread to be hijacked. Sorry guys.

by Anonymousreply 71November 19, 2018 3:26 PM

Here we are again today waiting for Mueller and all we have is silence. Month after month, waiting for justice from the Justice Department but we get silence.

by Anonymousreply 72November 19, 2018 3:33 PM

Also, the cookie clearing troll constantly defends the Concern Trolls: "They have a RIGHT to be worried!" and more drivel like that.

Luckily or through exposure, most of the Concern Trolls have disappeared since the elections. The Cookie Clearing Troll must worry where his komrades are!

by Anonymousreply 75November 19, 2018 4:01 PM

Another example of institutions bending to Trump's whim:

It was announced today that there will be no comedian at next year's White House Correspondent's Dinner. Instead, "eminent presidential bigographer" Ron Chernow will be the featured speaker.

by Anonymousreply 80November 19, 2018 4:58 PM

I hope Mueller and team deliver when they have all their ducks in a row regarding anyone.

Really, election periods, holidays, and other current events need not be barriers in proceeding timely. There is no perfect time in delivering profound decisions.

In the criminal justice system throughout the country, they don't ever seem to worry about upsetting one's holiday season by delivering indictments.

by Anonymousreply 81November 19, 2018 4:58 PM

Mueller is making discrete movement but what he is truly doing is treading water till January 3rd.

The "mis" filing of the Assange indictment will keep chins wagging for a while.

Then a little something else like the Trump written responses.

Then a little something else.

Until everything changes on January 3rd.

I am tired of the piece of filth in the White House and Mueller should be tired of it too. Trump hurts our country everyday that he is in office and it has gone on too long.

On MSNBC right now, they said that it was reported over a year ago that Ivanka, Jared and others have been using private emails since the transition, and the purpose of the article is to show a light on the fact that it hasnt stopped. WTF....this is the problem with the media....they report daily Trump going after HC about her email...even now...yet ignore this, when they knew of it over a year ago and should be harping on it EVERY FUCKING DAY to counter Trump and the deplorables. by Anonymousreply 131November 20, 2018 7:16 AM

Wouldn't it be something if Ivanka is getting investigated in relation to any intel Jared sold to the Saudi Prince who killed Khashoggi?

The conservatives couldn't pin any concrete bad outcome on Hillary handling her emails but with Jared and Ivanka I could totally see that as possibility. That could completely flip the switch on the conservatives' narrative, of how bad Hillary's email case was, and they may regret opening that can of worms in the first place.

Do we know for sure that none of her e-mails were classified. Didn't they go back and review some of Hillary's e-mails and then say they were classified? It was some ridiculous small number. And WTF did they think they would find in her e-mails? A plot to nuke Russia or something to undermine the US??

by Anonymousreply 135November 20, 2018 12:39 PM
Didn't they go back and review some of Hillary's e-mails and then say they were classified?

They retroactively deemed some of the information in her emails classified, but none of the emails were ever labeled Classified. I believe Comey himself also said that some of her emails, the way they were or were not classified (which is apparently a big problem in the Government), it was reasonable to understand that one wouldn't know information in them could be deemed Classified.

by Anonymousreply 136November 20, 2018 2:04 PM

by Anonymousreply 138November 20, 2018 2:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 139November 20, 2018 2:40 PM

This is more like what happened to Germany after WWII. Certain individuals, like scientists, were still listened to and admired, but no one listened to or respected the government for generations.

Even if they were doing something reasonable, no one looked to them for moral leadership until quite recently. A lot of that is due to Trump, since there was a leadership vacuum in the world with the U.S. abdicating their leadership position around the world.

Fucking absurd: Russia is soon to head Interpol.
Yet, just weeks later, Interpol appears poised to select as its next president a senior security official from Russia, which has been accused of manipulating the agency’s arrest warrants to harass its enemies.

American and European officials were lobbying behind the scenes to tip a vote on Wednesday away from the Russian candidate, Aleksandr V. Prokopchuk. The virulently anti-Russian Ukranian government went public, declaring that Mr. Prokopchuk’s candidacy was part of a Kremlin assault on the international order.

Putin is about to gain control of the world’s main law enforcement organization

On Sunday, delegates of the general assembly of Interpol — the International Criminal Police Organization, the coordinating body for law enforcement from 192 countries — met in Dubai for their 87th annual session. The most important agenda item will come on the final day: on Wednesday, delegates will elect the organization’s new president to replace Meng Hongwei, who went missing in China in October. (The Chinese authorities later announced that Meng had been arrested on “corruption charges,” and sent what was purported to be his resignation letter to the agency’s headquarters in Lyon, France.)

The leading candidate to become the next president of Interpol is Alexander Prokopchuk, a police general in the Russian Interior Ministry who has for the past seven years headed Interpol’s Russian bureau. Prokopchuk’s candidacy was kept under wraps until the last moment — and, presumably, until the Kremlin was confident of securing enough votes. The British government has determined that Prokopchuk’s victory is assured to the extent that “there is no point in trying to stop him.” A British human rights group, Fair Trials, wrote to the Interpol secretariat strongly protesting the nomination and noting that “it would not be appropriate for a country with a record of violations of Interpol’s rules (for example by frequently seeking to use its systems to disseminate politically motivated alerts) to be given a leadership role in a key oversight institution.”

“Politically motivated alerts” have been a favorite Kremlin tactic, used to legitimize its prosecution of political opponents and make their lives more difficult by limiting their movements. Despite the explicit ban in Interpol’s constitution on “any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character,” the organization happily accepted Moscow’s requests to issue “red notices” — in effect, international arrest warrants — against prominent Kremlin opponents.

Among those targeted were Vladimir Gusinsky, the former owner of Russia’s leading independent media group; Leonid Nevzlin, vice president of Yukos Oil, who was indicted as part of the Kremlin’s campaign against the company; Eerik-Niiles Kross, an Estonian politician who has long been a thorn in the Kremlin’s side; Boris Berezovsky, once Russia’s most influential “oligarch,” who helped bring Vladimir Putin to power and later became his sworn opponent; Akhmed Zakayev, Chechen prime minister in exile; and Nikita Kulachenkov, an activist at Alexei Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation. It took much time and effort to persuade Interpol to withdraw the warrants because of their political motivation.

Among the most recent targets of Kremlin-inspired “red notices” was Bill Browder, a U.S.-born financier who has spearheaded the international campaign for targeted sanctions on corrupt officials and human rights abusers in the Russian government. Sentenced in absentia to a prison term in Russia, Browder was most recently arrested in Spain on an Interpol warrant in May of this year. (He was quickly released.) He is unable to visit several countries because of the ongoing legal risks.

With a Putin-appointed police general at the helm, the Kremlin would no longer need to abuse Interpol to pursue its goals; it would be able to place the organization at its service. One should look no further than the federal wanted list from Russia’s Interior Ministry, which includes the likes of longtime Kremlin opponent Mikhail Khodorkovsky and the Crimean Tatar leader and Ukrainian lawmaker Mustafa Dzhemilev, to guess what names could be singled out for future “red notices.” (Disclaimer: Khodorkovsky is the founder of the Open Russia movement, of which I serve as vice chairman.) Americans who helped the passage of the Magnitsky Act — and whose questioning Putin demanded from President Trump in Helsinki — are likely candidates as well.

...

by Anonymousreply 156November 20, 2018 5:52 PM

...

But the misuse of the “red notice” system would be the least of the problems should Prokopchuk accede to Interpol’s presidency. The main purpose of the organization is information-sharing and mutual assistance among national police forces. One can imagine what the Kremlin could do with access to sensitive databases around the world. For one thing, there could be many more inconspicuous Russian tourists visiting foreign countries on brand-new passports to admire ancient gothic cathedrals.

Unlike other international organizations, Interpol does not list its former presidents on its official website. There is good reason for this. Between 1940 and 1945, the organization — then known as the International Criminal Police Commission — was led, successively, by three Nazi war criminals: SS General Reinhard Heydrich, the chief architect of the Holocaust; SS General Arthur Nebe, who, as the head of Einsatzgruppe B was responsible for murdering tens of thousands of Jews in Poland and Belarus; and SS General Ernst Kaltenbrunner, founder of the Mauthausen concentration camp and one of the main instigators of the Holocaust, who was hanged at Nuremberg for crimes against humanity. It is a page in its history the International Criminal Police Organization would rather forget. Putin’s regime is no Third Reich — but its actions at home and abroad are a travesty to very concept of the rule of law. One day, Interpol will no doubt also want to forget the page it is about to open on Wednesday.

I’m not sure if Mueller’s investigation is having an effect on market sentiment.

I just read a synopsis of why the market has tanked to the point of eliminating all of the 2018 gains in the DOW, S&P, and NASDAQ indices.

5 biggest tech stocks down Apple, Amazon Facebook, Netflix, Google (All down 20% this year)

Lower projected future growth/ gdp

Rising interest rates

by Anonymousreply 164November 20, 2018 6:34 PM

R158 yes, and thank you--it is the tariffs, rising interest rates and the efficacy of the corporate tax rates petering out, as they ALWAYS do when the GOP "trickles down" on citizens.

I'll never understand how people elect Republicans and then cry when the corporate tax cut is over and there is nothing left. Republicans ALWAYS have a short, hot run up in the market, to be followed by worse-than-necessary bear markets. Once again, corporations have taken their obscene $$ and, once again, they are NOT using those funds to lift conditions for the middle and lower-economic citizens.

Democrats take a lot of shit, but at least they understand that a healthy, growing middle class is essential for the country. They also get that near 100% of any money given to poor people by way of assistance makes its way back into the economy--it is spent, not hoarded. I'll take slower, stronger, more broad-based growth any day, especially when it lifts all citizens.

The market held on pretty well through the elections; I'm glad voters rejected Trump period--not because they were financially terrified.

by Anonymousreply 171November 20, 2018 9:34 PM

That thread linked at R167 is essential reading. Apart from anything else, it explains why Mueller's investigation is taking so long - it's not JUST about Trump and Russia. Trump and his crime family's criminal activities are massive and widespread. There is just SO MUCH crime, and SO MANY criminals for Mueller to investigate and catalogue and take action against. And it's now clear that Trump and Jared, and probably Don Jr., are accessories to murder. They should all get life in prison at the very minimum.

Well....Trump turned in his written answers to Mueller today...and at that time, Mueller files a document containing 3,078 words. Coincidence ?....or did Mueller straight up subpoena Trump and Trump has been fighting it....eventually agreeing to submit written responses instead of testifying in front of the Grand Jury. Thats why its all under seal...neither side wants the media attention to this particular matter.

When Hillary Clinton set-up her own email server, she was following the precedence set by her predecessor, Colin Powel, and it was allowed by law. The classified emails involved were all classified retroactively, meaning that they were not classified as such when Hillary exchanged them.

In Ivanka’s case, she acted after it was made illegal, and after Trump and the Right wing obsessed about it for a couple years. If she didn’t know it was illegal, she is too stupid to have a security clearance. We have yet to see if any of the related messages are classified, retroactively or otherwise.

Meanwhile, Trump is still using his unsecured device, isn’t he?

I do hope, that when the miniseries is produced, that they spend the moola to do it right. There is so much in just two years that needs to be exposed. The biggest problem for a screenwriter will be having to throw-out some otherwise outlandish crimes, because they pale in comparison to the worst offenses.

by Anonymousreply 199November 21, 2018 2:11 PM

I just sent the Seth A. twitter thread to a friend of mine who works for one of the incoming House chairs (of a relevant committee). I have a feeling that he will be passing that information on to other folks in his office.

by Anonymousreply 200November 21, 2018 2:25 PM

Great work, R200! And thank you. God, I love these threads.

by Anonymousreply 201November 21, 2018 2:29 PM

R199, I can't decide if the Trump saga would be effective as a comedy of outrage (perhaps by Adam McKay) or a limited series dripping with excess (perhaps by Ryan Murphy). Actually, I'll bet Scorsese could do it justice.

Is that really necessary at this point r209? Glad you posted that but I should hope that Mueller is also on top of that connection. I guess, like many, maybe we are putting too much hope and emphasis on the Mueller investigation alone.

by Anonymousreply 211November 21, 2018 5:35 PM

I definitely think we need multi-pronged investigations. We don't know for certain what Mueller is looking at, his team doesn't leak so all we have is guesswork and supposition. I am assuming nothing when it comes to his report.
What should be apparent to anyone following the Russia investigation is that there is, in addition to everything known about Trump already, some X factor, something that is known to members of the intelligence community but has yet to be revealed to the public. John Brennan, the former CIA director, has referred to X repeatedly, tweeting about what might happen when “the full extent” of Trump's wrongdoing “becomes known” and hinting at times that in 2016 he possessed information about contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russians, which he passed on to the FBI. As far as those on the outside can tell, X originated in intelligence gathered by Britain and perhaps some other foreign countries. It has passed from Brennan to Comey to Mueller. Senator Warner, who told me he knows “Mueller a bit but not well,” reportedly joked at a dinner in June that “if you think you've seen wild stuff so far, buckle up.” At the end of Mueller's investigation, the fight will commence in Congress over the size and significance of X and whether to terminate this presidency early or allow it to hobble its way to the finish line. All Mueller can do is unearth the X and bring it to light. He can arm the country with facts for these coming battles. But he cannot fight them for us.

Here's hoping Stone's indictment will drop soon.

by Anonymousreply 228November 21, 2018 9:59 PM

Pres Bone Spurs is really going unhinged now. He is whining and crying over how the Ninth circuit is unfair, the judges are unfair, he can't win there, they are all "Obama judges", we need to "take a look at it" and all around not understanding basic ways our system works.

What was unfair, asswipe, is the whole Merrick Garland bullshit. What was unfair is the BK bullshit.

But he isn't coming up with his on his own. Make no mistake, the conservative apparatus around him is filling his head with this BS and they need to be called out for it. This is bigger than just him. The entire conservative movement has been hijacked by far alt right white nationalists.

by Anonymousreply 248November 22, 2018 1:33 AM

Paul Butler -- as have other analysts -- said on MSNBC tonight that, with Rosenstein gone and Mueller having to report to Whitaker, that Whitaker is in turn reporting to Trump and telling him every single thing about the investigation. But I for one choose to believe that Mueller is too smart for these assholes and isn't giving Whitaker all of the information he has because he knows what Whitaker is going to do with it once he gets it.

by Anonymousreply 249November 22, 2018 1:55 AM

Muller is giving Whitaker isotoped info. Once repeated, self identify the source. Whitaker is in line for a sealed indictment.

by Anonymousreply 250November 22, 2018 2:01 AM

by Anonymousreply 251November 22, 2018 2:14 AM

Mueller plays by the book but if what he has on them is hugely bad, treasonous, then here at the end he may not.

by Anonymousreply 252November 22, 2018 2:19 AM

Whitaker is dumber than all the previous Trump tools. Just look at the idiot schemes he was into to make a fast bucks. Hell, he's even dumber than Trump! He's no match for Mueller.

by Anonymousreply 253November 22, 2018 2:22 AM

As I dimly recall there's a recently-elected R representative who writes Bigfoot porn on the side.

by Anonymousreply 254November 22, 2018 2:29 AM

Whitaker just gave a speech to law enforcement officials in which he made several serious mis-statements of fact about a terrorism case. This forced the Justice Department--his own agency--to issue a statement contradicting him. He not very bright, and, like Trump, lightly tethered to reality.

by Anonymousreply 285November 22, 2018 1:08 PM

Pelosi must run a two track offense. WH investigations and legislating items that will force the Senate to either help Americans or show their true colors.

On the second front, Pelosi needs to identify a couple of new, high potential legislators and teach them the ropes quickly.

On the first front pick an issue that is egregious but not directly tied to Trump's inner circle. Zinke or child separations.

by Anonymousreply 286November 22, 2018 1:12 PM

I'll just be satisfied if Pelosi doesn't do her "impeachment is off the table" bullshit again.

by Anonymousreply 287November 22, 2018 2:03 PM

I think Pelosi's statement "off the table" is more parliamentarian than popular.

Things are procedurally off the table until they are place on the table again, meaning brought up later.

It is a pragmatic statement.

by Anonymousreply 288November 22, 2018 2:44 PM

Pelosi has always been pragmatic. She knows what is possible under certain conditions or circumstances and doesn't give false hope or promises things she will not be able to deliver.

The thing is that someone like that doesn't energize the masses. Trump gets a strong reaction from all of us (supporters and opponents) because he gets our juices flowing. Trump is a polarizing figure. Pelosi is ... well, reliable. Maxine Waters on the other hand can get a rise out of anyone. Because she is strong and doesn't mince words.

by Anonymousreply 289November 22, 2018 3:06 PM

Are you saying that Pelosi should surround herself with firebrands?

by Anonymousreply 290November 22, 2018 3:20 PM

r290, to come off as downright boring or even out of touch? That would be really bad for her image. By now you know what you get with Pelosi.

by Anonymousreply 291November 22, 2018 3:26 PM

No, not boring or out of touch.

More like the Wicked Witch of the Democrats releasing her flying monkeys.

by Anonymousreply 292November 22, 2018 3:44 PM

Pelosi has been very measured in how she has spoken about impeachment. She's a very smart woman. She knows that as bad as George W. Bu$h was, this is magnitudes worse. She has said that she wants to see what is in Mueller's report, which is a sound approach. She will also get to see what the Democratically-controlled House committees find during their investigations of this corrupt cabal of treasonous felons.

Ultimately, it will be a political calculation that everyone will have to make: is what we discover so rotten and awful that he -- and others -- have to be removed immediately, or can we make it to 2020 and then boot the fuckers out.

by Anonymousreply 293November 22, 2018 4:13 PM

Why is this Orange Piece of Shit still in the White House? It is so FUCKING confounding!!

r312 I wouldn't call most of them conservative. They are moderate and were asserting their independence for the next election and Pelosi understands this and is probably ok with it. Conor Lamb has a future in the Democratic party. A bright one. Seth Mouton sunk his. You don't pull that shit in MA.

Honestly, I had hoped Mueller WOULDN’T open the flood gates of Treason Hell Indictments before Christmas. The Holiday season is a special time for Americans and much of the world. Why spoil it with Trump as the focus of the season.

But now, after the subpoena of Comey and Lynch..... Fuck American deplorables and the Orange Bone Spur. I hope the Democrats are no holds bar come Jan 3. Nothing should be off the table to destroy the Trumps and McConnell and the rest of them.

by Anonymousreply 322November 22, 2018 7:33 PM

Mueller didn't.

by Anonymousreply 323November 22, 2018 7:36 PM

by Anonymousreply 324November 22, 2018 7:50 PM

R324, it’s interesting that we really have no idea right now, but it’s possible. It would be perfect it the Right’s leadership was swept up.

by Anonymousreply 325November 22, 2018 7:56 PM

R324

R325 R324

I think McConnell is even more (if that’s even possible), loathsome then Trump, because McConnell has been pulling under-handed egregiously shit throughout his entire 51 year career in politics.

I just did a Wiki on this scummer. Nauseating read. Started as a moderate R, to who turned “sharply to the right” early in this career.

by Anonymousreply 326November 22, 2018 8:18 PM

Once you sink as low as either of these "men" the degrees of loathsome is irrelevant but I see your point. McConnell is a different kind of dangerous.

by Anonymousreply 327November 22, 2018 8:21 PM

R327 ?

by Anonymousreply 328November 22, 2018 8:28 PM

McConnell will get his. He was the one who prevented Obama from releasing a statement about Russian interference in the 2016 election. He's right smack in the middle of it.

by Anonymousreply 329November 22, 2018 10:10 PM
McConnell will get his. He was the one who prevented Obama from releasing a statement about Russian interference in the 2016 election.

He didn't prevent it, it was Obama who wouldn't make a statement unless turtleneck joined in. Obama should have said fuck it. Given the danger of a Trump presidency, not just for America but also for the world, Obama should have warned voters about what was going on. He failed to do what would have saved the country from an unhinged madman.

Instead he blamed it all on Hillary, his attack dog Axelroth is still badmouthing her.

by Anonymousreply 330November 22, 2018 10:24 PM

The Comey/Lynch nonsense is just a last bit of red meat for the base before the entire GOP implodes with a shitstorm of Democratic oversight.

by Anonymousreply 331November 22, 2018 10:47 PM

R330 Yes, Obama should have played hardball with the likes of McConnell. But we all know Obama ain't a fighter. McConell wasn't even much of a fearsome foe either, but he was very effective in playing on Obama's own fear about how it would look. In many ways, once Obama landed in the WH he really let the Dem Party slide down into a hole, which opened the door for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 332November 22, 2018 10:47 PM
But we all know Obama ain't a fighter.

No he wasn't. I often wonder if Putin knew he could get away with this shit because he knew Obama wouldn't crack down hard on Russian infiltration. In Obama's second term he was mostly concerned with his legacy.

I still find it hard to believe that all this stuff was going on under Obama's nose, probably for years, and he didn't counter react.

by Anonymousreply 333November 22, 2018 10:57 PM

I want to see all the dog shit in the universe crammed down Stephen Millers’s throat. Yeah, that guy. The admin’s alt-right Nazi, and WH speech writer.

I’ve done some reading on this angry bird.

He is fucking Damien in ‘The Omen’

Brought up in a strongly Dem household, weird and lonely childhood; freaky and rebellious in high school. Single, no friends, no girlfriend.... Smug, angry, snarky, and confrontational to the point of frothing at the mouth.

by Anonymousreply 334November 22, 2018 11:07 PM

R332 & R333, Obama didn’t fight McConell because he was wisely wary of looking like an “angry Black man”.

He did fight the Russians, though. He kicked out much of their delegation. He closed two of their retreats. He implemented sanctions. He told Putin to stop it. He did announce these actions.

Trump has tried to reverse all of this.

by Anonymousreply 335November 22, 2018 11:49 PM

Sorry r335...I read what you wrote as "Trump has not tried to reverse any of this"

by Anonymousreply 337November 22, 2018 11:56 PM

R335 explained it pretty well. The unfortunate thing is, we have an angry white man who isn't even hiding it anymore as president. I know it won't happen, but it'd be striking if the next white guy who's president has to be held in Trump's standard -- treated like he's going to constantly fuck up, having his credibility questioned at every turn, etc. That would feed into the "See, white people are persecuted!" narrative, but it might also make decent chunks of white people remember accountability.
Obama didn’t fight McConell because he was wisely wary of looking like an “angry Black man”.

If you allow to be defined by your enemies, you aren't a strong president in the first place.

Besides, Obama was on his way out, he had nothing to lose and history would have been on his side eventually. He messed up big time, he can congratulate himself for Trump being part of his legacy.

by Anonymousreply 340November 23, 2018 1:26 AM

I am sure that by the time Obama was briefed, it was about something much more sinister than just election meddling. In certain cases, you cant disclose you know of certain things or you risk a cover up before you have enough evidence to nail the fuckers. We dont know exactly what Obama was briefed on. But we do know as things unfold that we are dealing with things such as espionage, bribery, conspiracy, all kinds of financial crimes including money laundering, etc...and most of all, Treason. The Steele Dossier is just the tip of the iceberg of the corruption this cabel is actively engaged in. Hell, we now have direct evidence of conspiracy to commit murder and an attemt to assist in covering it up. AND IT WAS ALL DONE IN THE OPEN.

by Anonymousreply 341November 23, 2018 1:38 AM

^^^...and I might add, and many forget, that when Obama was briefed, there WAS ALREADY AN OPEN AND ACTIVE FBI INVESTIGATION INTO THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN....all that stuff was taken over by Mueller almost a year later.

by Anonymousreply 342November 23, 2018 1:47 AM

Still doesn't make sense R342/R341. This wasn't just about election interference it was about a hostile country interfering with the most internal operations in your country.

Hillary Clinton did talk about it during the campaign, that the Russians were engaging in espionage to influence the election and that Donald Trump was involved in it, there is no reason Obama didn't inform and warn the American people about it.

by Anonymousreply 343November 23, 2018 2:08 AM

Murder? Of whom?

by Anonymousreply 344November 23, 2018 2:29 AM

r344.....do you live under a rock ? by Anonymousreply 351November 23, 2018 7:23 AM

One can make a lot of excuses for Obama and make guesses as to what he knew and didn't know and when...

What we do know is that he did know SOMETHING, chose not to say ANYTHING and then along with Biden, turned around and blamed it on Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 352November 23, 2018 7:39 AM

we know why...McConnell threatened to make it political and say Obama was trying to interfere in the election. Everyone was thinking Hillary was going to win and McConnell was looking for a reason to derail a possible third Democratic presidential term.

Obama had previously said he didn't want to rock the boat as Hillary was expected to win based on polling. Was he wrong? obviously

If Obama had been more public with everything, the repubs would have most certainly attacked him even more viciously than ever. Too many in the public also did not know who to believe-Trump's lies or the people refuting them.

Obama was truly stuck

by Anonymousreply 353November 23, 2018 8:13 AM

Sure, he was "stuck..."

Does being "stuck," also mean he was forced to then blame Hillary for all of it after everything was said and done?

by Anonymousreply 354November 23, 2018 8:16 AM

I don’t think this shoulda, woulda, coulda in-fighting helps us at all.

It is frustrating with the lack of new developments and it may remain frustrating for the next six weeks, but why spend time trying to assign relative blame amongst the victims.

If we are going to bicker about the unknowable at the moment woulldn’t it be more fun to argue about which Trump spawn will serve the most time instead? Or who tries to flee to Russia first?

by Anonymousreply 355November 23, 2018 10:00 AM
I don’t think this shoulda, woulda, coulda in-fighting helps us at all.

So true.

I’m not even into the “I wish...” “I bet...” “It wouldn’t surprise me if...” fantasy world that some here live in. That kind of shit, wishful thinking, or speculation is OK in the Hollywood gossip or porn threads, but this thread here is about news developments and the future of our country.

by Anonymousreply 356November 23, 2018 11:44 AM

Exactly 355. Hillary and the Democratic Party were the victims here of a terrible crime. It may be that Obama’s mistake wa s significant, but it’s also apparent to me that people would have raked him over the coals, and there may have been a huge backlash, if he had come forward without bipartisan support. We need to stop blaming the victims here and move forward and catch and convict these fuckers.

by Anonymousreply 357November 23, 2018 11:58 AM

by Anonymousreply 358November 23, 2018 11:59 AM

Did someone write “raked”?

by Anonymousreply 359November 23, 2018 12:38 PM

Former GOP chairman Michael Steele has apparently had it up to here with Trump, tweeting Wednesday: ‏ @potus just shut the hell up and get on the helicopter. Give us a rest from your crazy. You don’t know the 9th circuit from a circuit breaker. It’s thanksgiving for crying out loud. Let us be thankful for your silence. You’ve said enough this week.

by Anonymousreply 360November 23, 2018 12:59 PM

The GOP and the deplorables would have raked him over the coals, no matter what. According to Obama himself though he had won again if he himself was the candidate. So apparently he thought he still had enough support from Americans and that they'd believe him.

I find it incredibly disingenuous that he doesn't accept more blame for the 2016 election disaster.

by Anonymousreply 361November 23, 2018 1:30 PM

Huh.

I guess I blame Donald J Trump, his family, and the lackeys and Russian conspirators who fucked with the 2016 election more than anyone else.

Yes, and one thing that we can't forget is that we are looking at this with the benefit of hindsight. Two years into this disaster it is much clearer to see what steps should have been taken to try and avoid it.

It's not like the Russians decided in June 2016 to help Trump win the presidency.

Romney knew in 2012.

by Anonymousreply 365November 23, 2018 2:02 PM

Romney didnt know shit....all he was doing was spewing a GOP talking point. Remember, the GOP was not always a Russian ally....thats a recent development.

by Anonymousreply 366November 23, 2018 2:54 PM

Former Congressional Intern-

I didn't have dinner with my former colleague but had drinks last night after time with fam. This is what she told me-

-Of course the House committees have so much more on Pres Bone Spurs and fam and cohorts than you can imagine. She couldn't share what she knows but said when the Dems take over its going to blow the lid off everything and it's going to be far, far greater than anything we've gone through as a country. And the repugs are very depressed about the elections, that they seemed to feel they would win even though all things pointed to the opposite. She said "almost like they expected help" and just smiled.

-Pres Bone Spurs regularly rakes (hehe) other repugs over the coals when he calls congressional Dems, tries to schmooze them by saying the Dems are "much smarter" than the repugs and he is only doing what he is doing because "he can get away with it with the repugs" but of course they laugh once the call is over because they know he lies nonstop.

-She said the calls are bonkers and they 100% think he is not well.

-She "believes" the conspiracy to steal the election is worldwide and involves many players big and small.

-There has been many many times she "heard" the 25th was almost invoked but Pence will not go along as well as a few key cabinet members. But just a few.

-He is very likely to replace Pence as VP for 2020.

-She wouldn't really touch the subject of the Mueller investigation. It seemed she knew something but she kept saying "they don't leak" so not sure if she truly does know something. Only thing she said was "he knows it all."

by Anonymousreply 367November 23, 2018 3:07 PM

by Anonymousreply 369November 23, 2018 3:14 PM

-And she said there was NEVER any real rebellion to Pelosi, it was all for show so they could display independence for reelection. But we already knew that.

-She said Pelosi knows what she is doing, we are in good hands, and she will skewer Pres Bone Spurs.

-She said Pelosi will only be Speaker until 2020. She will hand it over to someone else in the party then.

-She said Pelosi already has huge plans for "saving our fucking nation" and we are in good hands.

-She said impeachment may be off the table because "it may not be needed" then she said "he'll resign."

by Anonymousreply 370November 23, 2018 3:15 PM

R367 thank you! We need that kind of information sometimes, when it looks like things are at a standstill. It keeps our morale up and our resolve strong.

by Anonymousreply 373November 23, 2018 3:26 PM

All these explosive secrets. Two years counting and none have leaked?

by Anonymousreply 374November 23, 2018 3:26 PM

My friend said the Dems are playing things very carefully. There is so much, a lot hinted at by various house members on TV appearances. The repugs practically have given it away when they make appearances on TV by the things they try to discredit. She said it is all out in the open without it being said.

She said Dems are waiting for Mueller but will finally be able to get things out they can through hearings which means they can get things out the proper way instead of saying it on Maddow which no one would really listen to. She said the Dems want a steady stream of info to come out, let people digest it then have the next batch of info out.

She kept stressing how, due to the nature of the things, it would be irresponsible to just say what has been found out without doing in through proper ways. She kept saying our country will never be the same and this is big big big stuff we have never gone through. She stressed PATIENCE which is frustrating but that it will all come out in due time.

I was listening to a pundit talk about the Pelosi thing and they pointed out that every single one of the people who were trying to get rid of her were much more far to the right than Pelosi is - so there was no question as to why they were doing it.

by Anonymousreply 378November 23, 2018 3:50 PM

One more thing- I asked about La Senatrice being gay. She laughed so loud. So I know it's 100% true. I know her tells when she can't say it. I asked why he changed his tune on the thing. She took a sip and said, "What would you do if a foreign country had picks of you spit roasted? hahahahahahahahaha. I'm joking. I'm just kidding." I asked if she really was and she just laughed. I asked if that was a laugh as in you know but won't say. She just laughed again. We repeated that for a few more times. I finally said I would take that as affirmative. She said nothing after that. Hmmmmmm. So I do think she was joking about that specific thing (spit roasted) but not someone having compromising info.

by Anonymousreply 379November 23, 2018 3:54 PM

Ok, I’ll be the contrarian here. If this is indeed big stuff, maybe the best thing is to make a deal w/ Dump so he’ll resign, then bury the gory parts. Let me stress that I don’t think this is the right thing to do, or what will actually happen. I think we are facing a constitutional crisis, though, that may break us for many years to come. That means economically too. Are we ready to face that as a nation? Do we have the resolve, and can we take care of those people who will fall through the cracks when our economy implodes? I was the person who commented about the markets and retiring—And the thought occurred to me re: the markets. I am ok re weathering the storm, but I’m very concerned that many aren’t.

by Anonymousreply 380November 23, 2018 3:54 PM

r380 We CANNOT let this be swept under the rug. Not this time. No way. We made our bed and we must never ever allow this to happen again. It will if we sweep this under the rug and allow the gory parts to go away without being seen in the light.

Besides, isn't it common practice to move your money into safer accounts right before retirement?

by Anonymousreply 381November 23, 2018 3:57 PM

R380, if we sweep this under the rug will will never fix the problem.

by Anonymousreply 382November 23, 2018 4:04 PM

R381, I agree we cannot sweep this under the rug. And though I’m concerned, I’m actually in a good place re retirement funds. I’m thinking more of other people who may not be as fortunate—more so with the overall economy, not just the stock market. Because when the market tanks, companies stop hiring. Are we ready for another 2007, but even worse, possibly?

Again, I agree we must not bury this—it Goes against the very fabric of our nation, and of justice and democracy. But I do think we need to prepare for the consequences. They are going to be (as a future former president might say), Yuuge.

by Anonymousreply 383November 23, 2018 4:07 PM

R375. That all sounds compatible with what I have been reading on Seth Abramsons threads and his book Proof of Collusion. This is deep and expansive corruption by Trump and the GOP. How much truth the average American citizen can handle... I believe everything needs to come out in understandable terms but I also wouldn't be at all surprised if Trump doesn't take a deal for himself and family and resign. This is bad.

by Anonymousreply 384November 23, 2018 4:07 PM

"but I’m very concerned that many aren’t.".

Hmm. And your concern suggests that for the good of the economy (and your money) we ignore treason. Great talking points, appealing to people's wallets; not buying it.

by Anonymousreply 385November 23, 2018 4:10 PM

"I’m thinking more of other people who may not be as fortunate—more so with the overall economy, not just the stock market. Because when the market tanks, companies stop hiring. Are we ready for another 2007, but even worse, possibly?"

PLEASE. Are people really following for this troll?

by Anonymousreply 386November 23, 2018 4:10 PM

The country must go through pain. This must never be allowed to happen again. The pain was already going to come with or without all the horrible shit he has done. We are running up huge deficits in great economic times. When the inevitable recession comes (sooner because of his irresponsible economic policies) we won't be able to deficit spend our way out like last time.

Of course 30% will not learn the lesson and will fall for another con man from the right who blames this on liberals or "browns" or whomever they can. But the country must go through the pain in order to never repeat this bullshit again.

by Anonymousreply 387November 23, 2018 4:16 PM

I meant "falling for", but "following" practically works, too.

I agree, R387. To cover up stuff means it is repeated and festers, like the Catholic Church's sexual abuses.

by Anonymousreply 388November 23, 2018 4:18 PM

Are you kidding me r386? I’m not a troll. Up front, I said I don’t think we should bury this, but that I was being contrarian for a reason. We all agree from what has been said, the reveals will be cataclysmic. Maybe I should have put my post in different terms—we need to prepare for this, rather than are we prepared for this. I apologize if it appeared I don’t want this to be brought to the light of day. I just wanted t people to u derstand that this might rock the nation. I’ve been following these threads from the first one, along with every other message board and news site. I will be dancing in the streets when Dump is dethroned.

by Anonymousreply 389November 23, 2018 4:19 PM

Kudlow just said recession is so far in the distance he can't see it so you know it's coming sooner rather than later. They lie nonstop.

They will have their blame in the House Dems. That is baked in the books so the Dems better have their talking points lined up and ready to go. The Clinton team always had rapid response to the repugs and it worked. Where has that gone?

by Anonymousreply 390November 23, 2018 4:20 PM

R390, you’re right—but I’m optimistic people won’t blame Democrats. If anything, I think there will be a clean sweep in 2020, mirroring 2006/2008.

by Anonymousreply 391November 23, 2018 4:22 PM

We absolutely, 100-percent have to take our medicine. If nothing else, it will be a wakeup call for plenty of people. I have to believe that the lunatic 30 percent will continue dying out/changing their attitudes.

by Anonymousreply 392November 23, 2018 4:23 PM

r389 I didn't think you were a troll. Yes, this will rock this nation like nothing has. It will rip us apart and I agree, we need to prepare for it. There will be violence though I hope when the details come out, it will be so sobering it will leave people wanting to reconcile.

This should be a horrible experience because it is so horrible. Our very foundations were, and still could be, destroyed. This is our first really big test to see if we can survive as the nation we have always see ourselves.

Agree that it all might be too much to handle for many, but too bad. Such delusions need exploding - they're what helped enable the corruption. The entire metastasising cancer needs to be cut out. Of course it runs far and deep, and the corruption will take years to track. So be it.

Ironic that it's 55 years on from JFK in Dallas. That's 55 years of not believing the Warren Report due to so many anomalies, and an embedded distrust of TPTB as a result. This time needs to be transparently different. Not that there's enough whitewash in the world for a cover-up now.

by Anonymousreply 397November 23, 2018 4:35 PM

I like Moulton enough but he did a STUPID thing with this Pelosi move.

All those who challenged Pelosi (and they really didn't as my source already said) were just posturing for reelection and never truly were after Pelosi. They may be to her right, but they are not center/right. They are moderate Dems but wholly Dems. But Seth was stupid because, unlike them, he is in a very blue state.

by Anonymousreply 398November 23, 2018 4:36 PM

How much violence do we think is possible? I mean, will there be that many domestic terrorists, nationalists, etc.? I'd be curious to see if the CIA or FBI has statistics on that sort of thing. It makes you hope local, state regional and national law enforcement is ready. Maybe I'm naive, but I can't imagine there being a literal boots on the ground, bombs in the air World War over this. Not when there's enough of a chance for violence from within.

by Anonymousreply 399November 23, 2018 4:36 PM

r399 This could result in some sort of war with other countries. They literally conspired to install a stooge and that is an act of war. How we respond is anyone's guess. The alt-right crowd will not let this go without some sort of bloodshed, do you think?

I think we need to be careful how all of this information gets out. Those in congress, who already know a lot but not nearly all of what Mueller knows, have to spill the beans in the appropriate way, with proof. The Dems have a plan for this. It is why Pres Bone Spurs is shitting his pants and in the foulest of moods. He is ready to blow.

by Anonymousreply 400November 23, 2018 4:42 PM

R400 It goes back to the importance of law enforcement. I really hope everyone's on red alert, monitoring the potential for danger. Being proactive would be a mighty strong deterrent. I agree with you, though, the information spread has to be done in a way that only Donald would be the one panicking.

by Anonymousreply 401November 23, 2018 4:47 PM

The trolls are busy posting threads about how great Black Friday is, how the economy will save Pres Bone Spurs and the Dems are jealous. Seriously, they just can't stop. Too bad the economy didn't help in the midterms. I wonder why?

by Anonymousreply 402November 23, 2018 4:51 PM

This was Putin’s plan all along. Destroy our belief in democracy, make the economy go to shit, cede our status as world powerhouse to China.

by Anonymousreply 403November 23, 2018 4:51 PM
Pres Bone Spurs regularly rakes (hehe) other repugs over the coals when he calls congressional Dems, tries to schmooze them by saying the Dems are "much smarter" than the repugs and he is only doing what he is doing because "he can get away with it with the repugs" but of course they laugh once the call is over because they know he lies nonstop.

Are the calls recorded and/or part of any congressional records?

by Anonymousreply 404November 23, 2018 4:57 PM

r404 who knows. She didn't say.

by Anonymousreply 405November 23, 2018 4:58 PM

But what was the practice when you were congressional intern?

by Anonymousreply 406November 23, 2018 5:01 PM

Oh man, I hope someone's recording those calls. Talk about a comedy album that's waiting to happen.

by Anonymousreply 407November 23, 2018 5:01 PM

r406 They didn't record them as far as I know.

by Anonymousreply 408November 23, 2018 5:04 PM

NYT: Saudis insisting on producing their own nuclear fuel as part of deal with the U.S. (Hello, Saudi nuclear bomb!)

So, Adam Schiff talking to WaPo about "the need to find out" about Cheeto's financial ties to the Saudis, should be a clear indication what's to come in January.

by Anonymousreply 409November 23, 2018 5:50 PM

It made the hair stand up on the back of your neck the moment you saw it. You're going to find out why.

by Anonymousreply 410November 23, 2018 5:54 PM

Thank you so much for those tidbits, former intern! Very interesting stuff. I feel better knowing that the Dems are going to play hard ball come January and Pelosi will be in charge. Say what you want about the old gal, but she knows how to get shit done.

My coworker and I gave discussed this on several occasions and both of us agree that when the deplorables realize fat Donnie is going to be removed, they will go fucking nuts.

As in take hostages nuts, blow shit up nuts and shoot people up nuts. Their miniscule brains will simply be unable to process the fact that he is a Russian asset and a traitor and they will become unhinged. More so than now.

Their fevered dreams of a whites only nation will finally be flushed down the shitter and they will lash out. It will be a scary time.

by Anonymousreply 411November 23, 2018 6:15 PM

It has never been a whites only nation. They made sure of that when they enslaved a bunch of Africans.

And we live next door to a foreign country with a lot of white latins but also a lot of latins who have a ton of Indian blood and look darker. So it was bound to happen they would migrate over to us as many Americans have migrated over to them to retire and what not.

by Anonymousreply 412November 23, 2018 6:19 PM

I don't know, though. I feel like most deplorables are cowards and willing to defelct. You'll get some violent people, but I'm sure the rest will transition to "Oh, I might have been a Republican, but I could NEVER have supported all that."

by Anonymousreply 413November 23, 2018 6:22 PM

Deflect, I mean. Although I guess I want them to shit themselves.

by Anonymousreply 414November 23, 2018 6:22 PM

Deplorables are the biggest weaklings of all. Snowflakes every one. They have to have big trucks and guns galore to make up for the terror they constantly feel. It is why the repugs always run on fear. Their base is always full of it. They are pant-shitters.

by Anonymousreply 415November 23, 2018 6:38 PM

Buckle up...as r396 states, Corsi is in plea talks which means next week will be fun. If Corsi enters a deal next week, Stone most likely will be indicted at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 416November 23, 2018 6:40 PM

I really love it that it will be The People's House that finally takes on this orange motherfucker. I hope Mar-a-lago becomes Trump's version of Hitler's bunker.

by Anonymousreply 417November 23, 2018 6:48 PM

Speaking of Mar-a-Lago, does it not look haunting as shit with Donald sitting in the low light?

by Anonymousreply 418November 23, 2018 6:51 PM

I want to see Mar-a-lago confiscated under RICO.

by Anonymousreply 419November 23, 2018 6:55 PM

No burying the gory parts, no sweeping things under the rug.

You deal with that shit in the light of day. That is how you ensure law and order.

Do a version of the Nuremberg trials. Execute those proven to have committed crimes that carry a death penalty. Sentence harshly those who deserve it. Fine those who broke laws that don't have criminal penalties.

Do a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Hold people accountable for aiding and abetting. Hold weasels accountable when they claim they weren't involved. Have an internet Dishonor Roll with links to public statements, even down to tweets and Facebook posts.

I'm fucking serious. There are still Holocaust deniers to this day because this shit wasn't nipped in the bud, and you don't want to be fighting Trump-history whitewashers from your retirement community years from now.

The gaslighting must end. Forgive, if you like, but don't forget.

by Anonymousreply 420November 23, 2018 7:04 PM
But the country must go through the pain in order to never repeat this bullshit again.

Yes and HRH Nancy is going to make sure we take our medicine. Remember her in your holiday wishes or prayers DLers because Pence is in it up to his perfectly coiffed hair, and come January the new Speaker will be second in the line of succession.

And another thanks to R367 for posting.

by Anonymousreply 421November 23, 2018 7:11 PM

Nothing your friend has shared with you is new or hasn't already been discussed here on this thread. Interesting though.

I don't agree with the assessment that those challenging Pelosi were only doing it to regain their seats. That actually makes no sense because they were doing it AFTER the Dems already took the House back in the Midterms.

And Moulton is an asshole.

by Anonymousreply 422November 23, 2018 7:13 PM

...and a lot of her challengers are newbies.

by Anonymousreply 423November 23, 2018 7:15 PM

R367, does your friend have any idea why Pence doesn’t turn on Trump? He could be President, which is plainly his ambition. Why not?

by Anonymousreply 424November 23, 2018 7:16 PM

r422 I'm just telling you what she said was really going on. They are looking at 2020 congressional elections. Many ran on not supporting Pelosi so this was their "See, I didn't support her" but it was all for show.

r424 No, she didn't say she knew of any reason.

“ Trump asks Supreme Court to take up transgender troop ban case”

What the fuck is up with this super-cunt?

This is what he’s thinking about while playing in Mar-A-Lago during Thanksgiving weekend?

Will the Supreme Court even take this on, and overturn a lower court decision?

by Anonymousreply 426November 23, 2018 7:19 PM
I think we need to be careful how all of this information gets out.

I don't believe in "Oh, we shouldn't make the Deplorables mad!" concern. They get mad when they see a picture of Hillary Clinton in a pantsuit. They get mad when someone dares to say something negative about Trump. They get mad when someone tells them that Obama may still come for their guns.

We can't, and shouldn't, base our actions on whether it makes the Deplorables mad.

Liberals could upload the Mueller investigation on social media Wikileaks style with all the receipts and the Deplorables would still be outraged and call it Fake News and internet terrorism or character assassination (Trump and his associates) that requires physically violence respones by shooting random people in random, public places.

by Anonymousreply 427November 23, 2018 7:23 PM

R426 he’s deflecting again. He’s trying to bury the big climate change report that came out today.

by Anonymousreply 428November 23, 2018 7:24 PM

One of Trumps hookers must have turned out to be a chick with a dick....there is no other explanation for his obsession with trans.

by Anonymousreply 429November 23, 2018 7:25 PM

Yeah, I understand that you're reporting on what she's saying and I'm saying that I don't buy at all that that was "what was really going on."

I don't believe that they were looking toward 2020. And if they were they should fuck off because they were willing to risk 2018 for themselves. But again, I think that assessment is inaccurate. Moulton can't be trusted and a lot of people have always hated him.

And I agree with R427. I'm really fucking tired of Democrats bending to how sensitive Rethugs and Deplorables are. They will fuck you over no matter what so there's no sense in fucking catering to what a very fucking small fraction wants. What has that ever gotten us? Oh yeah, Gorsuch.

by Anonymousreply 430November 23, 2018 7:25 PM

I would guess Pence doesn't turn on Mango because he's afraid of the photos they have of him sucking off whathisface.

by Anonymousreply 431November 23, 2018 7:26 PM

I do hope the spitroasting of the senatrice pics are eventually released to the public. Be great to see exactly what it took for a man to completely turn and betray his beliefs and his country the way he has. Wonder whatever became of the rent boys too. Were They in on the set up - or just unwilling players who also had no clue?

Why - in this day and age - when EVERYTHING can be so easily filmed and recorded - do closeted people still insist on running for public office and expect not to get found out? Fucking lunacy!

by Anonymousreply 432November 23, 2018 7:28 PM

The thing about the Senatrice is obviously not about photos of him being spit roasted. Everyone knows he's a "homosexual," so confirmation wouldn't ruin him.

The photos are obviously of him being spit roasted by Black men or worse yet... Muslims!

by Anonymousreply 433November 23, 2018 7:32 PM

R426, Trump wants to bypass the lower federal courts and go straight to the Supreme Court on this issue, on the ground that it is a national security issue. I don't think the Court will go for that.

by Anonymousreply 434November 23, 2018 7:34 PM

I think the entire Trump mess has to be exposed. I want Fox to be completely discredited, so that we can tell the Fox-washed that their “news” source, that promoted Trump for years, shouldn’t be believed.

I’m guessing that they will stop trusting all news sources, then will tune Fox back in, but I’d like the evidence to be out there. My brother did once acknowledge that Fox lied, but he watched it, because “they all do that”. How stupid is that? Trusting a news source that you know is lying to you.

by Anonymousreply 435November 23, 2018 7:42 PM
The photos are obviously of him being spit roasted by Black men or worse yet... Muslims!

I think you are onto something. What if the blackmail material is The Senatrice all dressed up as alluring belly dancer dancing for big Muslim cock?

by Anonymousreply 436November 23, 2018 7:43 PM

Would it really be so bad if the deplorables all had nervous breakdowns?

by Anonymousreply 437November 23, 2018 7:43 PM

What this country needs to heal is one thing: TRANSPARENCY

- What exactly happened? How did Trump become POTUS?

- What is being done to prevent this from happening again?

by Anonymousreply 438November 23, 2018 7:45 PM

My favorite line from Rethuglicunts is when they shout at "Dumb Liberals," about how stupid they are for only watching and getting their news from CNN and MSNBC --- meanwhile THEY watch all news sources, including Fox, and make up their own minds (because Liberals don't) by following and believing that Fox is a reliable, and honest "news" source.

by Anonymousreply 439November 23, 2018 7:49 PM

R438, and why certain members of congress have aided trump.

I do wonder who Fox will handle this when trump's corruption is exposed. They must be wondering that too. I don't believe they buy their own bullshit,

by Anonymousreply 440November 23, 2018 7:50 PM

The general public needs more honest, no bullshit propaganda reporting. No right wing media controlling the narrative.

Get the 1% narrative and agenda ridden propaganda out of the media. And out of the government, of course.

by Anonymousreply 441November 23, 2018 7:52 PM

R427 R435

Agreed! Spill your un-refutable beans Mr. Mueller.

Fuck the backlash, and let the truth expose every one of these deplorable assholes.

by Anonymousreply 442November 23, 2018 7:52 PM

R427: “it’s just political”. I’ve already heard that from a Deplorable who was aping what he heard on Fox.

by Anonymousreply 443November 23, 2018 7:55 PM

r439 all they do is project their own bias and crimes onto others.

I immediately get suspicious when some conservative accuses someone else of being a pedophile or meth addict.

by Anonymousreply 444November 23, 2018 7:55 PM

r427 I didn't get the impression my friend or the Dems in congress feel they need to get the information out in a way to let the deplorables down easy. Not at all. It was more to do with doing it the correct way such as through hearings, subpoena records and allowing everything to be digested because there will be so much important things could get lost. Does that make sense?

by Anonymousreply 445November 23, 2018 8:05 PM

Acosta: “President Trump, will you follow your own rules decorum?”

Trump : “A lot of people lack decorum...”

The above is as I imagine, but can a reporter stop him the net time he does something like this? It begs for a relevant follow-up question.

by Anonymousreply 446November 23, 2018 8:08 PM

Yes, R445. Mueller needs to explain it with facts and evidence, so that even Deplorables can understand the argument. Ultimately, impeachment is a political matter, and politicians need to have their jobs threatened. Remember that half the population is below average intelligence.

by Anonymousreply 447November 23, 2018 8:12 PM

How will Fox news handle it?

They'll just ignore it like it didn't ever happen and instead focus on how an investigation needs to be opened up on Hillary because new information has been released that she had some overdue books back at Wellesley that she never paid for.

by Anonymousreply 448November 23, 2018 8:13 PM

Deplorables are stupid - end of story. There's no talking sense to them no matter how you dumb it down.

Did anyone see that segment where they asked people how they felt about Mango saying he wants to give the Statue of Liberty back to France?

The Deplorables said, "I'm fine with whatever he wants to do! Whatever he says is good!!!!"

by Anonymousreply 449November 23, 2018 8:16 PM

R448 Weren't there reports Murdoch was already telling the network to start distancing itself?

No one is looking out for the deplorables feelings. 30% of the country will not believe anything factual in the Mueller report or Dem hearings. Fuck them. The rest, the truly independent who went hard for the Dems this election, will. In the end, they will be left behind and the rest of us will have a majority of votes. They can kick, scream and cry all day long. People are sick of them and their whiny ways.

by Anonymousreply 450November 23, 2018 8:16 PM

I predict that Trump will deny doing anything illegal. He uses denial as an excuse. Putin denies meddling in our elections. The Saudi prince denies involvement in murdering that journalist. Our intelligence community is certain they are both guilty, but Trump doesnt care.

Trump will deny things that he hasn’t even be accused of. At the very end, he’ll blame the public for not being worthy of him. He’ll rather “burn it all down”, than surrender. I mean that metaphorically and literally.

by Anonymousreply 451November 23, 2018 8:19 PM

oh, I wasn't saying that all deplorables will go crazy enough to blow shit up. Only a handful will. The majority will scream and cry on social media.

However, we all need to be alert to the high probability that 3 or 5 of these nutters will go full Nunberg once fat Donnie is exposed.

by Anonymousreply 452November 23, 2018 8:39 PM

Thank you [R450] !

by Anonymousreply 453November 23, 2018 8:42 PM

He just denied having financial ties to the Saudis. An obvious lie.

by Anonymousreply 454November 23, 2018 8:52 PM

r454 I mean, when his mouth is moving.....

This is where I don't understand why so many of his deplorables are ok with. If he lies this much people don't ya think he lies to you? They are like abused wives.

He's a comedy show now. Everything he says is just side splittingly funny because of its absurdity

by Anonymousreply 455November 23, 2018 8:54 PM

Nothing Trump says should ever be believed. Not even fact-checked. If I was a reporter, I’d ask for proof of every assertion Trump makes. Without evidence/proof, he should just be ignored.

by Anonymousreply 456November 23, 2018 8:55 PM

r456 Here, Here! This absolutely. Or just given a really loud, sarcastic "SURE, JAN."

by Anonymousreply 457November 23, 2018 8:56 PM

My office in Trump Tower was bugged by Obama.

I’ll show my tax return when the audit is over. Did I mention I’m being audited?

I’ve sent investigators to Hawaii looking for Obama’s birth certificate and you won’t believe what they’ve found. You won’t believe it.

Mexico will pay for the wall.

I’m the healthiest President in history.

by Anonymousreply 458November 23, 2018 9:03 PM

One of the most frustrating things is how coolly Trump just repeats his lies, even after they have been proven false.

by Anonymousreply 459November 23, 2018 9:04 PM

Perhaps if the media would just not cover anything else until he admits he lied about a certain thing. Like just hound him. When he tries to distract just go right back to say, the Hawaii BC thing. Don't let up. Even if he starts a war just keep asking him about the same lie. That might shut his lying ass up for a hot minute.

by Anonymousreply 460November 23, 2018 9:07 PM

We might as well have Alex Jones in charge.

by Anonymousreply 461November 23, 2018 9:22 PM

r461 What do you mean, we do!

by Anonymousreply 462November 23, 2018 9:47 PM

How does Trump or ANY of these motherfuckers associated with this administration sleep soundly?

I’m serious. How do they go about their day appearing as if nothing is wrong, knowing of the rightful justice they’re in store for?

All I know is, if I were ever late with making a credit card payment, I’d break into a sweat until that bill was paid.

Please help me understand. Is it flat-out, absolute denial? How on earth can these people be comfortable in their skins?

by Anonymousreply 463November 23, 2018 9:59 PM

Well, Donald's clearly a basket case. I have to imagine the rest are all operating on fraying nerves.

by Anonymousreply 464November 23, 2018 10:34 PM

R463, these people live in a world without consequences, a world in which they have never been punished for anything.

by Anonymousreply 465November 23, 2018 10:41 PM

The rich never have consequences for anything. Imagine if they had to pay a speeding ticket proportional to what we would pay? The whole world is a skewed for them and against the poor. A poor person has a car break down or gets a speeding ticket and that could be their rent or light bill or whatever. To the rich, it is pocket change if that or even if they have to pay it.

by Anonymousreply 470November 23, 2018 11:44 PM

R415? You are wrong. I really wish you weren't, but you are.

A fearful man is a dangerous man. An insecure, confused, and stupid man tends to be fearful. Fearful men (for whatever reason) are more likely to resort to violence because they are afraid and have no idea how to think things through to a sensible solution, aka they "shoot first and ask questions later." Why do you think so many innocent black kids/adults are getting shot by cops? Cops now are for the most part fearful and insecure snowflakes who have something to prove.

I live surrounded by deplorables here in rural Florida. Just today my neighbor (who was probably drunk) got out a couple of shotguns and fired them aimlessly into the woods. And last night someone fired off about 15 rounds out of two different pistols just for fun. Earlier in the week I heard more errant gunshots from another neighbor. And now you're telling me you think these idiots would run from a fight? Uh, I don't think so.

I am as liberal as liberal gets, but I myself have two pistols to protect myself from these assholes, and I am certain that won't be anything close to enough firepower if these guys decide to go on a rampage. And don't forget, Florida has the "stand your ground" law, so if a citizen feels his/her life is threatened for any reason, s/he has the right to kill, which these deplorables would do at any pretext. I wish I could leave, but I'm on a fixed income and my place is paid for. So I must figure out the best way to defend myself even if nothing more happens with Trump and his ilk.

If any of you guys have some time to kill and want to help me build a cement wall around my place, let me know.

by Anonymousreply 471November 24, 2018 1:00 AM

Re the idiot neighbor, I'd anonymously report "shots fired" to the police, R471, in a way it can't be traced back to me. Burner phone or other means.
“it’s just political”. I’ve already heard that from a Deplorable who was aping what he heard on Fox.

Ask this idiot if it's "political", how come actual deplorables on the Manafort jury agreed there are actual crimes there, therefore, it's not political but a matter of crime under the law. And how come the same deplorables voted for his conviction on how many counts. And why the deplorable Flynn would plead guilty if he was innocent and it was "political". And finally ask them if they have actually read a single line from Mueller's indictments so far, especially the one against the Russians.

by Anonymousreply 472November 24, 2018 3:32 AM

This thread is FIRE. Thx former congressional intern!
A fearful man is a dangerous man.

A fearful man acts irrationally without deliberate thought. That's when people shoot themselves in the balls or in the foot, or shoot at each other, because the smallest of things can set them off.

Yes, it would be a good thing to be able to avoid them in that time where Trump gets chased out of the WH, but remember: The most damage will the Deplorables do to themselves in their blind fear and anger.

So yes Romney probably knew what was going on. Obama probably knew as well but he did too little too late to counteract it.

by Anonymousreply 475November 24, 2018 7:09 AM

All but one Juror on the Manafort Trial thought he was guilty on all counts. One Deplorable, who should be investigated, thought he was guilty on 10 counts. Two or three deplorable on any of these Juries are going to set the guilty, free.
After 4 years of Hillary Clinton as SOS Putin hated her and he also knew she would run in 2016. The GOP as much as Putin wanted to avoid a Clinton presidency at any cost.

THIS, baby, THIS. This is the very point I don't think has gotten enough attention throughout this entire ordeal. It made total and complete sense for the GOP to work with Putin because they shared a common goal: stopping Hillary from becoming President at all costs. This is also why I think more Rethugs than Donald Trump are in this thing up to their eyeballs and the reason so many of them have been working so furiously these past two years to protect not just him but themselves from being uncovered as traitors to this country.

by Anonymousreply 478November 24, 2018 1:31 PM

Wrong on every single sentence of your post, r477.

One of the things I appreciate about DL is the difference of thought and opinion. People bring up perspectives that maybe others hadn’t thought about, and the reasoning is always well thought out. I conceded my post was wrongly worded. Please read everything before you accuse someone of being a deplorable. It’s an easy way to insult someone whose opinion you don’t agree with.

I think people know that accusing someone of being a deplorable here is a highly disparaging insult to those of us who have fought Dump from the day—even before—he was elected.

That would imply that they care about something more than money. Putin gave them money. And while in power they hand out money and luctrative contracts to their rich donors. And don't forget the tax cut for the 1%.

If it were just Hillary they could have done more with her in power and demean her like they did with Obama. Demand investigation after investigation (why is she only wearing pantsuits? Does she have something to hide? This needs to be investigated!!!). And their bigoted supporters would have worshipped them and begged them to save them from this harpy of a Liberal woman.

The GOP uses "hot button" issues to manipulate people to help them further their agenda (Muslims, Hillary's Emails, foreign terrorism, black and gay people, trannies in public bathrooms, women president, etc.) . Maybe it was about the 1% tax cut, maybe about SCOTUS, but it was most certainly about the money they could put in their own pockets and the pockets of their uber rich donors.

Slightly of topic, but do we care to speculate whether John Kerry saw Robert Mueller naked in the showers when they were on the hockey team together at St. Paul's? Consider this a mash-up with the "showering with other guys" thread.
[italic] “it’s just political”. I’ve already heard that from a Deplorable who was aping what he heard on Fox. [/italic]

Fox started saying something like this, immediately after the murders of those children in Newtown, Connecticut. I heard my Deplorable brother in law ape it:
[italic] “We shouldn’t politicize the issue.” [/italic]

Actually, that is a political statement in itself, and the Deplorables shouldn’t get away with it. My response to this now is:
“That statement sounds to me to be a political statement in itself. It is intended to end discussion on guns, so as to do nothing about them. That also makes it hypocritical.”

Depending on the audience, I might leave off the last statement. I phrase it this way, so my bro in law can’t counter with “no it isn't”, because I’d just say, “Well, that’s the way it [italic] sounds [/italic] to me.”

That all said, I avoid talking to my bro in law about politics if I can. So, dear DataLoungers, don’t let people shut down discussion with this kind of comment!

by Anonymousreply 484November 24, 2018 6:15 PM

The other hypocritical phrase used right after a shooting, by Deplorables is:

[italic] “Now is not the time to talk about gun control.”[/italic]

I guess the best response might be:

[italic] “Now is exactly the time to talk about gun safety legislation.” [/italic]

by Anonymousreply 498November 25, 2018 12:20 PM

I think another reason for Trump's obvious anxiety and nutso behavior recently, is the realization that his relationship with the Republican Senate will definitely change. This midterm was a repudiation of Trump and his brand of Republicanism. They fact that Dems also made gains in governors and state legislatures is a huge message. So it won't surprise me if Trump's "rubber stamp" relationship with McConnell and the Senate changes. It may be wishful thinking on my part but even Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder can see that Trump is toxic even to his own enablers. Of course I also feel like a lot of the leadership is dirty and may begetting love letters from Mueller.

R493, I think they buy the books, but they don't read them or keep them. I live in Trump country in a blue state, and the local Friends of the Library sale was 60% every Conservative Pundit's book printed in the past few years. None of them looked read. When I was younger, I might have bought them all to have a shelf of shame, but I can't bear, now, to have them in my home.

by Anonymousreply 505November 25, 2018 4:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 506November 25, 2018 5:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 513November 25, 2018 6:44 PM

So Dershowitz is preparing Deplorables for the 'devastating' Inevitable - while softening the blow with 'non-criminal' balm.

Which differs from the tone of confident Insider gossip posted above, speaking of seismic national shocks to come. Can those possibly be non-criminal?

by Anonymousreply 514November 25, 2018 7:50 PM

I have a hard time understanding how some that is “devastating” can be non-criminal. I mean, I guess it’s possble, but my puny brain can’t imagine such a scenario. Maybe he cheats on Melania? Maybe there’s a pee pee tape? I guess those are “non-criminal”... or it’s just Dershowitz being obtuse.

by Anonymousreply 518November 25, 2018 9:26 PM
I guess those are “non-criminal”... or it’s just Dershowitz being obtuse.

He's whistling past the graveyard. Dan Abrams called Dershowitz out a few times on his bald-faced lying assertions on This Week with George S. Dan told him that he knew no more than the rest of us, and he was just making stuff up. Dershowitz has this theory that tRump can't be prosecuted for engaging in constitutionally-protected actions. Maybe that's true and maybe it's not. We certainly don't have all the information that Mueller has.

by Anonymousreply 519November 25, 2018 9:40 PM

"can't be prosecuted for engaging in constitutionally-protected actions"

r519.....READ this again......the interesting catch is that anything Trump will face that is illegal, will NOT be constitutionally protected. AD knows that and is using vague statements to be controversial. He LOVES the publicity.

by Anonymousreply 520November 25, 2018 9:50 PM

Dershowitz has always been scum. I didn't think he could sink any lower. Then he became one of Trump's most prominent ass lickers. He is completely embarrassing himself by pretending to have inside information and making bogus legal arguments that only a political hack like Brett Kavanaugh would accept.

by Anonymousreply 521November 25, 2018 9:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 524November 25, 2018 9:59 PM
can't be prosecuted for engaging in constitutionally-protected actions

a ha, but if the actions are corrupt--designed to enrich the president, obstruct justice, steal an election, etc.--then they are not protected by the Constitution.

by Anonymousreply 525November 25, 2018 10:04 PM

Now Putin is attacking Ukraine. Hmmmm wonder what our incompetent leader will do about that? Or what did Putin tell him how to respond?

by Anonymousreply 526November 25, 2018 10:06 PM

by Anonymousreply 527November 25, 2018 10:11 PM
...the interesting catch is that anything Trump will face that is illegal, will NOT be constitutionally protected.

But, he will claim everything is constitutionally protected and/or protected under executive privilege. Everything. This will go through several courts and they'll try to take it the Supreme Court. Then, we get to see what Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have to say about it. I think any decision regarding anything having to do with the Russian investigation and Trumps' overall criminality will be a 9-0 to 7-2 decision. I don't think he'll win and he might lose Gorsuch. Thomas and Kavanaugh, I think, are the only two possibilities to favor Trump.
"I still don't think it's going to make a criminal case, because collusion is not criminal." (Dershowitz)

Are these people morons? Collusion is a part of conspiracy as in "conspiracy against the United States". Did these idiots not go to law school or, ya know, even ever just watch an episode of Law and Order? Really, why do they keep repeating this? It will make no legal difference. The deplorables don't understand what they're talking about. When they are all charged, it will be for conspiracy. Do they keep saying it so they can go, "See, no collusion, just like I said!"? Is that really all they've got at this point?

by Anonymousreply 530November 26, 2018 12:07 AM

I think AD knows exactly what he's doing by saying such things - he's feeding the Deplorables.

by Anonymousreply 531November 26, 2018 12:40 AM

I can't remember who said it, but I think a pundit said something to the effect that Dersh is making political arguments through lawyer speak by causing as much doubt and uncertainty as he can. His arguments are all bullshit and wouldn't stand up in a court of law, but he's trying to muddy the waters about Mueller's authority and Trump's prosecutorial-ness to appeal to the Deplorables and gaslight them even more.

My question is, why? Is he that much of Zionist to completely fall in lock step with Trump? Are the rumors about him and Epstein true? Or is there some other overarching reason for his abrupt switch to rabid Trump toady?

by Anonymousreply 532November 26, 2018 12:55 AM

Miss Lindsey and Dershowitz must both be being blackmailed. There is no other explanation for their insane support of Trump.

I'm sure Mueller is aware of Graham and AD and will look into blackmail.

by Anonymousreply 534November 26, 2018 1:02 AM

Dershowitz isn't really supporting Trump. He's just a glutton for attention and loves what he's been getting at Fox News.

But I do suspect Graham is getting blackmailed. Somewhere there's a picture or video of Graham with a dick in his mouth. And I would also suspect it's either very young or very black.

Dan Abrams brought this up, and Dershowitz dismissed it immediately as too attenuated and far-fetched. Well, we will see what evidence Bob Mueller has.

And, I agree with R532 that Dershowitz is making political arguments dressed up as legal arguments to muddy the waters for the deplorables.

by Anonymousreply 542November 26, 2018 2:07 AM

R540 Dershowitz supported Hillary Clinton. Sometime after Trump was elected, Dersh "happened to be" in Mar a Lago. Trump sought him out, asked him a couple legal questions, and it's like Dersh was star struck. It was after that he started commenting on Trump's legal case, probably hoping Trump would hire him, but all the time denying that he supports Trump. Which he didn't. Like I wrote, he just loves the new found attention.

by Anonymousreply 543November 26, 2018 2:12 AM

Dershowitz and Trump are connected via Epstein / Lolita Express and their predilection for under aged girls.

by Anonymousreply 544November 26, 2018 2:19 AM

Bill Clinton flew with Epstein on that plane many more times than Dersh or Trump and the plane's flight records and passenger lists prove it.

by Anonymousreply 545November 26, 2018 2:28 AM

R545 Bill learned his lesson. Trump hasn't.

by Anonymousreply 546November 26, 2018 2:30 AM

Trump didn't need to fly on anyone else's plane. He had his own. He had a "modeling agency" and owned international beauty contests. He owned buildings, hotels, private clubs and condos. I'd bet you any amount that he was often "hosting" private gatherings for people like Epstein, Dershowitz and other high rollers.

by Anonymousreply 555November 26, 2018 8:28 PM

President Donald Trump's reluctance to hold Saudi leadership accountable for the brutal murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi stemmed from a partly aspirational $110 billion arms deal between the U.S. and Saudia Arabia that was inflated at the direction of Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.

Kushner pushed State and Defense officials to inflate the figure with arms exchanges that were aspirational at best. There was a back and forth between Kushner and Department of Defense and State officials on how to get to a larger number because the officials initially told Kushner that realistically they had about $15 billion worth of deals in works.

But even that order has not been fulfilled.

CREW and 10 former ethics officials from several presidential administrations and government agencies filed an amicus brief supporting Maryland in the state’s motion alleging that Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker’s appointment was illegal. Appointing Whitaker, a non-Senate confirmed employee, far outside the statutory line of succession, is contrary to the AG Succession Act, as well as the Constitution.

Officials who signed the brief have advised agencies about compliance with federal ethics statutes, the Standards of Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch, and agency-specific ethics regulations. They have also provided ethics advice to presidential nominees undergoing Senate confirmation.

Whitaker has several conflicts of interest that have not yet been explored because he was never confirmed by the Senate, and, as a loyalist to the president, he represents a danger to Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation. As the brief argues, the nation’s top law enforcement officer must undergo the scrutiny of Senate confirmation as a crucial check on presidential maneuverings.
