In a never-before-heard phone call exclusively obtained by Radar, featured above, Hernandez sounds desperate as he longs for his close friend, Ryan McDonnell.

“I miss you,” Hernandez tells McDonnell. “If I think about you for one second I go crazy. This is my first call I got to make. The only thing is – the only thing is, the only thing I try to do is not think of you. I can’t.”

Hernandez placed the call behind bars on June 28, 2013. He was locked up on murder charges for the killing of Odin Lloyd.

Despite the fact that Hernandez was engaged to longtime girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins, at the time of the call, the former New England Patriots player confessed that McDonnell was his first priority.

“Obviously you’re the first person I put on my visitors list right now,” a shaken up Hernandez told his friend.

The disgraced NFL player then opened up about his insecurities to McDonnell, admitting that the “first thing I did” was writing McDonnell a “two page letter.”

“I just need you to be here for me, please?” Hernandez is heard desperately asking his friend.

During the shocking phone call, McDonnell claimed he was angry with Hernandez – but that it didn’t change his feelings about him.

“I love you,” McDonnell told Hernandez, who replied: “I f***ing love you. Just know that I’m so pissed at you but I love you too much to be mad at you.”

Just listening to the conversation, I definitely felt romantic subtext going from Aaron to Ryan, but not vice versa. I have no problem believing they were fucking, I just don't know if this was the smoking gun or not.

I have watched the documentaries and listened to the podcasts. There is a fair amount of Hernandez tapes and letters and reporting on how he spoke with guys. Many of them are talking "I love you" all the time to each other. It's some kind of bro speak. They talk endlessly about how they love each other and care for each other and watch out for each other and will do right by each other and kill each other and love each other and love love love.

Yup AH and Kyle Kennedy smoked K2 in Aaron’s cell before the suicide. Other prisoners said AH had been on a two day K2 bender. 1 or 2 nights before he died Kyle had snuck in to AHs cell and hid under his bed so he would be locked in with AH at closing time. It worked and he spent the night there, but he got caught and punished which is why he was in an isolation cell when news of AHs suicide broke.

Did Ryan really care about him?

I read the book “The Truth about Aaron”. And in it, a doctor specializing in brain trauma and CTE who examined his brain, basically says that if Aaron had lived another 10 years he would have been so impaired that daily life would be almost impossible for him. That’s how bad his brain injuries were. Even if he got out, he wouldn’t have had many years left to live a good life.

So yeah, it’s pretty depressing.

He would’ve just cherished his time with Ryan even more. They would spend their days traveling the world, fucking in as many different cities and towns as possible.

Well, Aaron was gay, or at least that’s the word he used when he came out to his mom. He also had to get really drunk to be intimate with Shayanna, and stayed out late to avoid sleeping with her altogether. I disagree that the phone calls prove Ryan was only after the money. First off those two have been "super close" since middle/high school (before nfl money). In fact when they did drift apart slightly in high school, it was mostly Aaron's fault bc football. There Aaron confessed that he wasn’t feeling it, he explained that he had some issues with his sexuality, that he loved shayanna and his daughter, he just wasn’t attracted to women like that. Aaron and Ryan were "confused" about their sexuality because they were 24, and you still get to say be confused at that age. However, had Aaron lived and been a free man, he would have already been out as a gay man or would have been out by the time he was 30 when this "confused" status would have passed.
