[QUOTE]An investigative series by the Boston Globe reveals that former NFL tight end Aaron Hernandez, who killed himself in prison last year, was molested as a young boy and had a sexual relationship with a junior high and high school teammate.

Aaron's dad was hot!
Boy, it makes me sad when I see these people like Aaron, who did such horrible things as adults. And then I see pictures of them as kids and they look so innocent and good.
If only they didn't have the parents that they did, or the life that they did. Maybe it could have been different for them.

Are we sure that the Daily Fail got the right name?
Dennis was Aaron's father. Maybe they mixed it up.
Anyhow, I found a Steven Sansousie who looks more like someone who would hook up with Aaron...
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 14, 2018 5:06 AM |
I think that this is the correct Dennis Sansoucie, because along with his photo it mentioned that he went to Bristol Central High School, same as Aaron.
And THIS Dennis is pretty smoking hot.

Which one was the bottom?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 14, 2018 5:09 AM |
At the link, the timeline is correct, also. Around 2006, when Aaron was in high school. Both guys are on the same roster page.
Aaron is on the top left, Dennis is on the bottom left.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 14, 2018 5:10 AM |
R10, he's 'smoking hot' the same way something fatty on the barbecue would be.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 14, 2018 5:11 AM |

However, is the guy at R8 also him? Say, 12 years later?

O.m.g. at R18.
His life is going to be turned totally upside down.
I can't believe that the Boston Globe just outed him like that.
But damn, I can see why Aaron hit it.

His pictures are all out of order on FB, but this one is dated 2016.
Get a good look at the page, because I'm pretty sure he's going to delete it or make it private very soon.
Especially since he was OUTED by the Boston Globe. I feel bad for the guy. He didn't ask for this.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 14, 2018 5:33 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 14, 2018 5:38 AM |
Outed? What’s the big deal? All his Marine buddies will probably be patting him on the back for letting the legendary Aaron Hernandez go beast mode on his greedy hole.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 14, 2018 5:38 AM |
It’s possible he didn’t understand what he was doing by talking on the record, but I took away from the Spotlight piece that Dennis was out already.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 14, 2018 5:39 AM |
According to his FB, he moved back to CT in July this year.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 14, 2018 5:42 AM |
It doesn't seem like he was out, R33.
Since he recently got out of the Marines, and he's still relatively young, I think that he was probably telling his family that he was just "waiting to settle down."
He also seemed especially close to his dad, and there is nothing in his FB to indicate that he was out.
The guy was outed.
I'm probably the most vocal critic of closet cases, but the way this happened was just wrong. The Boston Globe did it in a very salacious and mean-spirited way.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 14, 2018 5:44 AM |
Sad situation. Aaron was doomed. If it wasn't football and drugs it would have been something else. With that said, I’m not sure why ESPN doesn’t devote more attention to this story...they were all over his trial. What’s Tom's opinion and all Aaron’s famous coaches’? How about Tebow? Lots to talk about and much to learn. What did they know? Did they try to be an ally? Get him some treatment?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 14, 2018 5:48 AM |

You're right, R37.
There's no mention of Dennis SanSoucie's sexuality in the op's ESPN link, but if you click on the Boston Globe article, it's clear that Dennis came out in his late 20's.
He was the one who revealed their sexual relationship as teenagers.
Op should have linked the Boston Globe link, rather than the ESPN link.

ESPN will never touch the gay angle of this story. Americans don’t want gay football players.
God, I really hate our sports culture, and I hope football is eventually a doomed sport.
What parent in their right mind, would allow their son to play this sport, knowing that his brain will be the equivalent of Swiss cheese by the time they retire from the sport altogether?

Enough with the ETC shit in this case. Most of the other cases of this didn't run around fucking shooting people. Fuck off. Yes it's a serious thing. But this guy fucking killed people. Potentially so no one would know he liked dudes. He was fucked in the head before ant ETC. he was not even a pro that long to be so damaged that it turned him into a fucking thug killer.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 14, 2018 6:39 AM |
R49 Correct. His major issue was his sexuality. I'm sure there are other factors. But this guy was wanting to hide what he liked more than his brain just being jacked by his profession. There's a zillion other football players going way back that suffered hits to the head that never killed anybody. Your an idiot or homophobe if you can't see what is blatantly obvious.

[quote] I’m just awestruck at how people shrug off CTE
I'm equally awestruck on how many people shrugged off the childhood abuse. Some just outright ignored it. The coach in the Boston Globe story said that Aaron came to school with a black eye, and he didn't do a thing.
[quote] “I know one time (Aaron) went to a senior dance as a freshman. I guess he was drinking before he went to the dance, and they threw him out of the dance at the school. Then, the next time we saw him, he looked like I guess his father did discipline him some.’’
When asked how he knew that, Morgan responded, “He had a black eye. I’m assuming that’s where that came from.’’
-Jeff Morgan, ex-coach
In another instance, Aaron was mad at his mother for not giving him medication for his ADHD, and her reply was "“Yeah, I knocked you over the head with a frickin’ hammer. That was your medication."
[quote] Enough with the ETC shit in this case
[quote] He was a bad person, a murderer. That some of you venerate him is one of the sickest aspects of DL
It's called compassion. Some of you are heartless animals.
READ THE FUCKING ARTICLE.
He was a child of abuse, of violence, of drugs, of confused sexuality, and yes - importantly - of head trauma.
[quote] in one game against Maloney High School of Meriden, he gave the crowd a scare when he was knocked down by a blindside hit to the head and lay motionless before a hushed crowd.
[quote] “I saw him get hit, and I saw him go down. And he didn’t get back up,” said Lorrie Belmonte, a registered nurse in Bristol who was in the stands. “And Aaron would always get back up. And then the coaches went out on the field and … he must have been totally out of it because they called … the ambulance that was standing by. And so the EMTs immediately came up on the field and got him and took him.’’
[quote] This was 2006, and scientists were just beginning to establish a link between blows to the head in football and the disease now known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE. Soon, researchers would also begin to understand the damage of subconcussive injuries, which may not have immediate symptoms, but still cause profound damage. That research would affect not only professional players, but millions of children who play contact sports.
To quote Zbignew Brzczinsky, it is "stunningly superficial" of you morons, to just dismiss the CTE aspect, and attribute his problems to mere confused sexuality.
There is so much in this guy's history, in terms of PTSD, as well as physical and mental trauma, that contributed to his behavior. Confused sexuality was one thing, but there were countless other factors in his short life, which made him basically a "loaded gun" waiting to go off.
Anyone who can't understand that, should just shut the fuck up.

**Fun fact: Lil Wayne does the opening title theme song and he, Nelly, Ice Cube and Wale' are semi-regulars on the panel. And the most improbable pairing imaginable is that of Weezy and Skip. by Anonymous | reply 77 | October 14, 2018 3:22 PM |
Whatever you say about Hernandez, it's clear that he was deeply damaged on several fronts from childhood on: an abusive father, maybe sexual abuse, years and years of head trauma playing football.
According to the NY Times, "a posthumous examination of his brain showed he had such a severe form of the degenerative brain disease C.T.E. that the damage was akin to that of players well into their 60s. It was, a lawyer for his family said, in announcing the findings, 'the most severe case they had ever seen in someone of Aaron’s age.' "
It doesn't excuse anything he did, but it goes some way towards explaining it. He probably never had a chance at a healthy normal lifespan. All that said, he was obviously dangerous, and the bottom line is that he probably needed to be put away. I'm very glad that I never had to deal with him.

It was, a lawyer for his family said, in announcing the findings, 'the most severe case they had ever seen in someone of Aaron’s age.' "
And who knows how much of his brain damage had to do with the physical child abuse that he suffered at home.
That, plus the concussions sustained playing football from such a young age, is what made his case so severe.

It strikes me how so many are saying "he's a monster,he deserves what he got" etc, when its been proven over and over again in many from all walks of life how a traumatic brain injury has completely altered their personalities. So if hot as fuck Aaron had been injured in a 3 car pile up and acted the way he did you all would be "Oh,poor soul" ? Brain injuries are devastating no matter how he got them, and theyve proven his brain was severely injured. How could you not see that would affect his personality ? Thgere were many factors in what made him the way he was, some he could have chosen differently, but to dismiss a major physical factor is ridiculous. If your brain is wired differently you think differently, ask all those veterans who have suffered head injuries.

I've thought about OJ in this context, r107. They might have gone with a CTE defense if that had been a thing in 1994.
And there's probably something to that -- I mean, OJ's judgement has clearly gone to hell apart from the murder: WTF was that armed robbery on a couple of memorabilia dealers that got him sent to jail in 2008?
Nonetheless, OJ still seems to be mostly lucid, so maybe he at age 71 has no more CTE-related damage than Hernandez did at 27.
No FUCKING way would I ever let a son of mine play football or box or do any kind of serious contact sport.

Mmm hmm, I'm quite sure Hernandez and The Marquis de SanSoucie made some beautiful love in their youths.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | October 14, 2018 8:20 PM |
It's a proven fact that the majority of adults who sexually molest children were sexually molested themselves as children. So it's entirely possible Hernandez did some kiddie diddling himself at some point.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | October 14, 2018 8:24 PM |
Speaking as a sexually abused kid who has NEVER become a sexually abusing adult, the assault on you as a youth radically fucks up your life, if you live long enough to have one, BUT it is not a fait accompli that you will become an abuser. Just my 2 cents. Could Hernandez have abused kids at some point? Sure, but in his case he seems to have gotten some temporary relief in killing and smashing people, both in football and in life. His ultimate smash of course, was to himself.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | October 14, 2018 8:38 PM |
R126, that's a myth. Most abusers were not abused as children, and most abuse victims do not become abusers.

by Anonymous | reply 129 | October 14, 2018 9:03 PM |
I don't believe it is a myth, respectfully R128.
I also don't believe that it is inevitable that it has to happen. Thousands of dollars in therapy and years on the couch one CAN break the generational abuse...but one must choose to fight the tendency.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | October 14, 2018 9:08 PM |
R126 false , some become sexually promiscous and reckless though.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | October 14, 2018 9:13 PM |
Different people react in different ways to traumatic events in their childhood like sexual abuse.
Some become deliberately fat to make themselves unappealing to predators or avoid social contact altogether. Some become predators themselves (thinking it's only fair to do to others what has been done to them, or reclaim your power by the act that took away your power, etc.), some become physically ill (cancer), some get mentally crazy (due to resentment issues), some try to distract themselves from the trauma by self medicating with drugs or alcohol, some create a whole new persona trying to leave their traumatic past behind, etc.

The article linked in OP's post has very scant information. Is it really verified he was abused? Sounds like he was getting it on with a boy, a friend, during JR H or HS. But no solid details about the alleged abuse by an adult.
I read the book. It was very fascinating and moving, really. What a shit storm his life became. Nature? Nurture? Both?
Eventually I would like real investigation to discover more.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | October 14, 2018 9:29 PM |
Society is fucked up because victims are not allowed to heal, and deal with the trauma, properly. Society deliberately fucks kids up (victimshaming, taboos you are not allowed to talk about with anyone, "boys don't cry" type of repressed emotions, don't be a bother and obey, etc.) to make them easy prey for snake oil salesmen who fuck up these kids up further (religion, homophobia, racism, misogyny, radicalism, etc.) until they are fucked up adults.

A little unknown fact.........while a college athlete in Florida, Aaron s dorm roommate was non other than Tim Tebow. That could have been interesting.........Aaron had a caotic, violent short life. His father was a psycho who thought Aaron was somewhat girly and tried to stomp it out of him, literally.......he had nut job fanatic religion foisted on him at various points in his life, he was part of an ultra macho violent sport which was making him rich and meanwhile all along he was on the downlow with guys in private private since junior high. Add to that a somewhat dim long time girlfriend since highschool and one out of wedlock kid. He had severe issues hitting him from all directions. Its no wonder it all spun out of control. Its not an excuse for murder but its all more than anybody should ever be thrown in life.

Lot’s of criminal behavior committed by pro football players. Coincidence?

Meyer was “growing frustrated” with him, according to a book by Hernandez’s lawyer, because the tight end was a chronic marijuana smoker. Meyer had tried to throw Hernandez off the team but relented under pressure from Tebow, according to the attorney, Jose Baez.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | October 15, 2018 3:53 AM |
Would someone like to tell me what the fuck the point of all this is, now that he's dead? It all sounds like a convenient way to shift scrutiny from Belichick and the Pats org for enabling his behaviour.
r167 there's a difference between being raised in a low-income house & being abused. Not every poor person would have Hernandez' laundry list of traumas. As to the CTE, there are no reputable studies because, in order to do it properly, you have to control for PEDs and recreational drugs, as well as societal factors. PAs in the NHL & NFL have resisted this. Some NFLers have said they'd be happy to sign a waiver, because they believe it's worth it for their families.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | October 15, 2018 4:13 AM |

R151 Yep. And I live in Fl and have quite a few Gators in my immediate family.
Back during the aftermath of the murder, many were questioning how such an upstanding Xtian great leader like Urban Meyer could have let his (known) behavior go on while he was in Gainesville. Ha! Three years later after the domestic kerfuffle in Columbus(@OSU) I think we understand it a lot more.
Meyer is just another coach for whom winning is all that matters. If AH had raped a dude or a chick while at UF I guarantee Meyer would have helped cover it up.

R157, yes, it made the papers. Tim was at the bar with him!
The report said a waitress at The Swamp Restaurant brought Hernandez the drinks, which he consumed before refusing to pay the bill. Manager Michael Taphorn confronted Hernandez, then asked him to leave. Outside the bar, Hernandez told police, Taphorn got into his face. When Taphorn turned to re-enter the bar, police said Hernandez hit him on the side of the head.
he original incident report lists Tebow only as "Witness 1," but his identity has been verified to USA TODAY Sports by Gainesville Police Department spokesman Ben Tobias and the supplemental report. Tebow, according to the supplemental report, "was concerned that his name would get out to the media as being involved in the incident," and that's why he was anonymously listed as a witness.
The incident took place around 1 a.m. ET on April 28, and Hernandez left the area immediately after the altercation. When a responding officer could not locate him, the officer interviewed Tebow, who said he tried to resolve the problem, according to the supplemental report. Tebow said he urged Hernandez to leave peacefully and tried to make arrangements to pay the bill. Later, when police interviewed Hernandez, Tebow was present.

Belichick was his last chance--it effectively gave him an endorsement for the behaviour. He's not known as a hand-holding GM/coach, so if he came in with anything it was not going to be addressed under Belichick.
r172 the domestic incident was totally different. His responsibility for/with his university athletes is different than his responsibility for the private relationship issues of his employees. Not that he's blameless in how he handled it, but the former is much worse.

by Anonymous | reply 181 | October 15, 2018 5:29 AM |
R178 Yep. I originally thought that UF was just a typical state university like Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.
But once I moved here I found out that I was incorrect. While it is not U of Texas, Cal or Michigan, it is a fair distance above the SRC schools I mentioned as well as many Big 12 and even Big 10 universities. As a matter of fact there is a cottage industry here in the state which attempts to position a potential in state resident to be admitted after being rejected. It basically involves going to a collection of junior colleges, one is actually in Gainesville, and getting one's grades up after which one hopes to be admitted as a junior.
I realize this is anecdotal, and you may doubt the accuracy of it, but I promise you it is the truth. I worked with a woman whose son was quite bright and seemingly a model student. He had a 4.0 average and was the VP of the SGA. He had many club and extracurricular activities, however known of them were sports. Florida was his first choice, and he had no real interest in his safety schools.
Sure enough, he was accepted by all his safety schools including Miami, Ga, Auburn, UCF and LSU. He was rejected by Uof F. After a near nervous breakdown, his parents decided to send him to that Juco in Gainesville. One year later he was accepted as a transfer student.
I'm not claiming that FL is a snob school with the heft of Cal, but it is no cupcake situation either. And FWIW, after graduating UF with a 4.0 average he was accepted into my alma mater(Duke) Medical School. Not terribly shabby.

he KNEW something was up..... i am in the minority i suppose but i have a ton of sympathy for Aaron. and I think he was gorgeous besides talented...... tho i don't care for baez bet if he would have defended him in that 1st case there would have been no conviction, or a much much lesser one.

Didn't he kill some guy in a club because he thought they disrespected him? It sounds more like Aaron believed in street thug justice than CTE. And to the person upthread who said he had way more to deal with than most in 27 years - you unfortunately described the lives of a lot of people, especially poor people. This one, however, had an escape that brought him good money. He is not the only poor guy on the down low screwing women to stay in the closet.

One thing I associate with CTE, is altered personality. And an unpredictable temper. Volatility. And since Aaron was subjected to violence from an early age, he expressed his volatility violently. OJ drank a lot and brutalized both his wives. Is it possible he suffered from CTE? Yes. It is. He certainly exhibited symptoms. I don't think he was physically abused as a child, but he certainly seemed to be an angry kid who grew into a hateful homophobe because his father was gay, and deserted his mother. I think with OJJ his behavior had less to do with CTE and more to do with his violent, entitled temperament.

Wait what? That’s not indicative of being repressed at all (that would be NO homosexual or even any sexual activity at all) Some of us just have prefererence this way. Same goes with getting high on drugs or blackout from alcohol where you loosen up and let go of that repressed state of mind.

Another thing was proximity.
Dennis SanSoucie had been Aaron's friend and quarterback all throughout high school. Every day.
Tim Tebow was Aaron's roommate in college.
Aaron's prison bitch Kyle Kennedy got to see him every day.
Mix the attraction with the proximity, and to me, that means that Aaron was hitting it with Tebow.
Besides, who could blame them? Imagine a horny bottom coming home to see this every day.

[QUOTE]Yeah and Tebow fighting for his roomate to stay on the team doesn't exactly squash the rumor that they were indeed lovers.
Tebow fought for him to stay on the team cause he was the best tight end in college football, by far. A tight end is a quarterback’s security blanket on the field. So long as Aaron was playing, Tebow could get the ball to him. Tom Brady probably loved him, too. Does that mean Aaron was banging him?

Take a look at R214's post. Does that seem like someone who only views football as an opportunity to check out the VPLs of the hottest players? I enjoy dishing about the players and their sex lives as much as the next person, but I also like talking actual sports with other DLers.

R199......that whole 'he killed someone in Cure because they spilled a drink on him and he felt disrespected' is BULLSHIT.
also regarding CTE, PBS had a great series on this and it really fucks badly with these men. I saw the one on Mike Webster and it was horrifying, this is a link to the story but here is part of it:
By the time Webster entered the Hall of Fame in July 1997, he had become a recluse, in agony from herniated discs and hand injuries, impoverished and angry at his fate. He put on a brave front, though, for his two daughters. His youngest child, Hillary, who was living in Wisconsin with her mother, says that in recent years, “My father called me every night.”
But his two sons, who lived with him at different times, saw a more tortured side. Colin remembers that his father was shaking so much from his condition that his desperate solution was to buy a police Taser gun. “He’d zap himself to calm his nerves. He’d do it 10 or 20 times to relax.” his wife said:
“Mike changed.” He seemed physically disoriented and started to behave strangely. Webster had always handled their financial affairs, so his wife was startled to discover that he wasn’t opening mail, or paying bills, or even filing taxes. This reliable family man who used to read his children Bible stories at bedtime began to get in his car and disappear for days. “I didn’t realize he had a brain injury,” says Pamela. “I just thought he was angry at me all the time.”

Aaron's personal assistant, that cute twink didn't hook up with him until he was traded to the Pats. They got back in touch after Aaron moved back to CT area. I remember this from the trial.
Aaron talks about God a lot, not sure if he only found religion while locked up but I think he would have that in common with Tebow. I definitely think they did something sexual. Tebow recruited him to FL. Tebow became his roommate, looked out for him the best he could. Both in the closet, lots in common and i didn't follow their games back then but if they did well on the field together, then I think they were doing well in the bedroom as well. Do the math. And then they were together again in New England Pats.

That's Ryan. The prosecution wanted to question what Aaron was doing alone with Ryan in Costa Rica for 7 days, but Baez completely shut down that line of questioning. Obviously getting their freak on the whole week!
For all intensive purposes, Ryan was basically Aaron's male wife. Ryan held him down always and talked to him more than anyone while he was in prison. A true ride or die

When I saw the headline I thought Ryan Mc (the guy mentioned above) had come out but I was surprised to hear another guy Aaron messed around with came out.
I've been on this story since the suicide, for those who dont know. Ryan was also a friend of Aaron's in high school in Bristol that people are speculating was in a gay relationship with Aaron. According to some Boston reporter, everyone involved in the case knew of their relationship in High School and there was even an article written about it excluding Ryans name.
Ryan later became Aaron's personal assistant and they were caught by the papparazzi exiting a bar in West Hollywood which was posted earlier in this thread. And as someone mentioned they went to costa rica alone for a week and Ryan was questioned on trial because of that trip.
Ryan has since married to a woman and I think only DL knows about him.

I'm sure Ryan desperately wants this story to go away. Because the more that comes out about Aaron the more the crock of shit he fed his now wife about his own relationship with Aaron begins to smell. But then again Shayanna was dumb about Aaron's double life for such a long time that I could see her being the same way.
by Anonymous | reply 236 | October 15, 2018 8:00 PM |

Kyle Kennedy the tatted thug that Aaron was smashing in jail was supposed to be released earlier this year and he said he was going to talk about their relationship when he was released per his lawyer but that never happened and their camp has been quiet ever since. Its been reported that he too was writing a book about it but thats been kind of quiet.
I suppose we'll find out more about Dennis (both the father and the HS QB) in Aaron's brothers book that comes out later this month. I'm sure this is why all of this is coming out now and why Jonathan is being interviewed... its pretty much a press tour for his book. And I'm also sure Dennis (The QB) shared a lot of that with Jonathan for that book.

The article actually did mention Ryan's name. It was Michelle McPhee that excluded his name but said "His high school lover was interviewed by Boston 25" essentially outing him anyway. That was on the same radio interview that people are speculating was the reason Aaron killed himself.
I just checked her twitter and shes so proud of herself for having the "scoop" before the Boston Globe did. Nevermind that she outed several people and could have caused Aaron's suicide. Still a cunt.

Football players were animals with cocaine fueled orgies and they'd do group stuff and get wild and crazy, at least they did when OJ was playing. The world of the NFL was a pretty rough wild world. it is only lately that guys actually get busted for domestic violence or drugs because the NFL used to hush that stuff up back in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's. Ask Jim Brown how many women he beat up. Or about cocaine. That subculture was a law unto itself. By the time Aaron Hernandez went pro it was a lot tamer, but it was still pretty wild.

That was probably a lie.

Miguel Gomez is too old to play Aaron in the full range of his life. And his head isn’t shaped the same—it’s round rather than oval.
We need a young up and coming heartthrob whose performance alone will help garner positive attention. Someone who’s never played a role like this and will be venturing outside of his usual castings. Miguel’s time has come and gone—Brandon is the better man for this job.

Some of them probably knew and maybe didn't care. In the podcast, it said Wes Welker warned a new teammate about Aaron talking about gay sex. Welker was clearly uncomfortable with it. But, I also wonder if Welker feared Aaron and that's why he kept quiet with the press.

Scouts described him as a social misfit with a serious marijuana habit, and there were concerns about his possible ties to criminals in his hometown of Bristol, Conn.
Yet with the 113th pick of the draft, the New England Patriots took a chance on Hernandez. Leaders of the most successful football team of the 21st century saw themselves as uniquely suited to molding troubled players into valued contributors. They were banking on their system to keep Hernandez in line.
It was The Patriot Way.
For Hernandez and the team, the pick would prove a massive miscalculation.
“Him going to New England was the worst thing the NFL could have done,’’ said Dennis SanSoucie, Hernandez’s friend since childhood. “The one place you don’t send him back is where he tried getting away from.’’
by Anonymous | reply 281 | October 16, 2018 5:53 AM |
For three bizarre years, teammates and team officials watched Hernandez spiral into trouble with a range of reactions from bemusement to annoyance to alarm; some also learned to give his Bristol crowd a wide berth. Hernandez could be weirdly warm and fuzzy one minute, wildly raging the next, and, as time went on, frequently agitated — and armed.
There’s no evidence that his coaches or others associated with his football career knew with certainty that Hernandez was heavily into drugs or dangerously brandishing weapons, but there were plenty of warning signs. As long as he performed weekend miracles on the football field, no one seemed too eager to find out more about what was up with Hernandez, chalking up his behavior to his youth and dubious choice of friends and hoping that a fiancee and a new baby would turn him around.
That, it turned out, was wishful thinking.
by Anonymous | reply 282 | October 16, 2018 5:55 AM |
If Belichick and Kraft knew anything about Hernandez’s disturbing behavior before his name became synonymous with shocking violence, they have yet to acknowledge it. But Hernandez’s issues were common knowledge in the locker room.
Hernandez’s combustible temper became readily evident. In his first days in training camp, he threatened to “f— up’’ six-year veteran Wes Welker, after Welker teased him about needing help in the film room, according to individuals familiar with the incident.
by Anonymous | reply 283 | October 16, 2018 6:00 AM |
Receiver Brandon Lloyd, offering his most detailed account of Hernandez’s troubling behavior, said Welker warned him.
“He is looking at me wide-eyed,’’ Lloyd recalled. “And he says, ‘I just want to warn you that [Hernandez] is going to talk about being bathed by his mother. He’s going to have his genitalia out in front of you while you’re sitting on your stool. He’s going to talk about gay sex. Just do your best to ignore it. Even walk away.’ ’’
“There would be swings where he’d be the most hyper-masculine, aggressive individual in the room, where he’d be ready to fight somebody in fits of rage,’’ Lloyd said. “Or he’d be the most sensitive person in the room, talking about cuddling with his mother. Or he’d ask me, ‘Do you think I’m good enough to play?’ ’’

It defies common sense that an organization like the Pats and a meticulous coach like Belichick wouldn't know exactly what they were dealing with before they signed him.

I am in now ay speaking up for the suburban wigger Kyle, but I think he may be getting a bit of a bad edit here.
HE did not go around bragging about his relationship with Aaron--well at least not in the immediate aftermath of the suicide. It was the prison guards who spilled the beans, and likely were the pipeline to Michelle the Boston radio talk show host with the annoying accent. We had a great DLer who posted her broadcasts each day(in the original thread) and that kept us non-Bostonians right in the loop with folks up in Pats Land.
A big thanks to you sir,
Kyle was actually kind of reticent to talk in the beginning. But once it was made known that AH had requested a cell change so he and Kyle could fuck like rabbits in private, it got to the point where the media was camped outside his family's house and everyone knew the deal. I can say that I never heard he was bragging about being the fb of AH in any form in the media.
As for the watch, I totally believe that Aaron meant that for Kyle. It makes perfect sense if you know how things work in their strata of society)I'm talking the thug and faux-thug strata.) The $$$watch is a trophy of sorts and it represents more than merely a nice timepiece. If AH had a son, he might have asked that it be given to him. But I have a feeling that he was in the bloom of a hot sexual crush with Kyle, and so it was the one thing he could give him that he knew would bowl Kyle over.
I will bet the ranch that he had long ago gifted his assistant/high school bud/lover a flashy expensive watch. So, giving it to him would have been sort of redundant. Ditto for his brother.
For any of you who are genuinely interested in all the details of this soap opera, I recommend taking the time to read the thread which was contemporaneous with the suicide. I understand you asking questions and wanting to be brought up to speed, but the whole saga is far too byzantine to just throw out pat answers to your questions. Hell, I may even go back and reread it before the bro's book comes out. It was some really good shit...even for DataLounge. I thought it was so cool that DL computer savvy detectives were always one step ahead of the actual media. It was almost as though we had an insider here filling us in. Really good stuff.
This story literally has everything. It even has more than the OJ crime, which is considered the greatest media/celeb event of the past 30 years.
Sadly, because of the gay element, and stupid ass Americans fear/dislike of such, it will never be memorialized on film or the small screen in a manner to truly do justice to it. If they could do a multi episode genuine look at the whole thing as they did in the 6 episode documentary on OJ(not the TV movie with Cuba Gooding) it could be the best doc ever. The story has complication on top of complication 10 feet deep. He was gay, but he had a long time pretty gf and child. He loved and worshiped his dad, but it is looking like his father abused him physically and possibly sexually. He had beautiful penmanship, and his writing was quite eloquent, and yet he was a dedicated Blood with a taste for violence. It would appear that MANY men fell for him--hook line and sinker. I mean, can you imagine shooting a man's eye out in his youth, and the guy still loves and fantasizes about him? And the men ranged from rough hood trade to the prettiest of twinks and everything in between. Aaron did not have just one type. And these are just the ones we KNOW about. I imagine there were many broken hearts and stretched out buttholes from Bristol to Gainesville and from Boston to LA. And of course there are the sociological/medical issues which may have led to his criminality, at least partially.
I did not mean to be o long winded, but I really enjoy hearing everyone else's take on the story, so I guess I thought I would throw some personal thoughts out there and see if anything resonated with the DL crowd.

Professional sports preys on weak minded meatheads to exploit them for their gain. As long the teams and sport organizations benefit the player can be a total asshole (he just needs a proper PR handler who gives him a more or less clean or sports appropiate PR image).
The higher ups don't give a fuck if what they push their players to do slowly kills them. There are more players waiting on the sidelines ready to take over when the current player is broken by the physical and mental abuse he had to endure.
I wouldn't be surprised if the higher ups refused to help Hernandez with his problems, because they believed that his issues made him such a great, and profitable, player in the first place.

Bingo. It is fairly accepted within the biz that 8 out of 10 NFL players do not like the game, they merely like what the game brings them.(wealth and women) Sure there are a few Tom Bradys on each team but they are the outliers.
That is also why that even with all the health scares and warnings there will always been plenty of young men who will be willing to risk their futures for what that wealth can do for their families and their own lifestyle. But bear in mind, a great percentage of these young men would have a very bleak future without sports. There is unemployment and crime galore in their world and the families are the victims of generational poverty, So, even with the fear of CET, they still are considered the Lotto winners in life.

Most people in their early twenties do not have the self awareness needed to understand that their life and family dynamics, have placed them at huge risk for prison, an early death, etc. You have to be able to see that, and you have to really want to turn it around, in order to overcome that. No way is the NFL, or a team like the Pats, going to get you through that, because the bottom line is that you are there to work, and make them money. It’s like working at any big corporation in America. The only difference is that you’ll make more than many CEOs, you won’t need a legit education, and you’ll end up untold neurological issues with 10 to 15 years or retirement, or less.
Hernandez had way too much going on, in order to succeed in this situation, and for that, I am truly empathetic. He had a golden ticket, so we think, but Hernandez was doomed.
Tragedy all the way around.

[quote]And there's one of the core injustices in America, [R293]: non one should have to take part in a dangerous sport just to have access to a decent education.
The Globe reports that Aaron's courses at the University of Florida included bowling, theater appreciation, wildlife issues and "plants, gardening and you."

That supports the second part of my post, r304: if you attend a big-league sports college on a football scholarship, you are not going to get any academic education at all. You're on a football (or basketball, or whatever) farm that happens to be connected with the college.
And RE the first part of my post -- that it's a disgrace that poor boys have so few education options that they often end up playing a sport that's going to cripple them one way or a another just to be able to attend college -- there was an article in the NY Times about these kids just a few weeks ago.
The Kids Who Still Need Football
By the time they were in middle school, Andrew Hart and Isaiah Anthony were already thinking about college. Andrew — whose grandparents moved during the Great Migration from the South to New York City, where his parents built working-class lives in Queens — thought he might one day study engineering. Isaiah — whose mother had arrived in the United States from Guyana as a teenager, settling into Brooklyn and working at a day care center — imagined himself in business school.
Both boys knew that when it came to their futures, they had something that seemed to hold even more promise than their good grades and the praise they earned from their teachers: Isaiah and Andrew were exceptionally good football players.
In a country where the margin for error is especially thin for black and brown boys in poor and working-class communities, they and their families also had plans: First, the boys would trade their football talent for financial aid packages from local private high schools. Next would come athletic scholarships to college.

I just get such a profound sense of sadness from the entire Aaron Hernandez story. it is a tragedy from start to finish. His childhood must have been horrific with a monster for a father. To me he seemed like a shattered fragmented human being who kept trying to put pieces together to become a whole functioning person and he never got any of the pieces to fit. He did terrible things. It's as if he was programmed to do them, and the parts of him that were useful and profitable others benefited from, and he got his comforts and had to cope with the madness on his own. He had none of the tools he needed to get through this and the people in a position to help him did him great harm. So he ended up being a monster to the rest of the world.

[quote]His childhood must have been horrific with a monster for a father.
His mother doesn't sound like much of a prize, either. But unlike many who grew up in abusive households, he was given opportunity after opportunity to escape and transform his life. He chose not to. Were his decision-making skills impaired by head injuries, drugs, internalized shame, all of the above? We'll never know. What a waste.

R305 I am not discounting what you said in your post out of hand, but the truth is a bit different.
Having worked with the upper crust of college football players since 1986, I am well aware of their motivations for "going pro."
It is not to get a college education. The reality is this simple: they want to be rich. They want to buy mama her own home. They want to buy auntie the Mercedes she has always dreamed of and they hope to end the cycle of their family's poverty forever. Those goals would not be met by gaining a free education with an attendant degree in engineering or computer science.
Secondarily they dream of the world's finest pussy, whips, houses, vacations and parties. Again, a college degree would not bring them that sort of worldliness. In effect, they are playing a form of the lottery on a very high scale with their lives.
A few win. I can name 100 players who met and exceeded those goals listed above. I can name 500 who ended up as broke as they were when they lived in Belle Glade in a 2 1/2 room tar paper shack with mama and three brothers. I worked with ten who were dead before 35.
The NFL is responsible for creating more black millionaires than any other profession or business. The opportunity is almost limitless....but with that opportunity comes a world of hazards and pitfalls. Few of the young men are equipped to handle the pitfalls, and it is part of our job to help them negotiate the hazards and help them attain their goals as well as their dreams.
It ain't easy guys.

R308, I understand your POV, however, here’s the problem: black and minority men, as well as plenty of Caucasian men, should not view football as their only and/or best option.
Minority men, especially and specifically black men, aren’t encouraged, nor groomed and supported by their communities to go into STEM careers. How many leaders in the African community go into STEM? Why don’t we have a black Bill Gates?
You see, football isn’t the only way out of poverty for most black men. Their ability to become wealthy due to sports, is still a rare opportunity.
The glorification of football, is just that. It’s not even the most exciting, or exclusive skill set sport out there. What it is, however, is a brutal career, with major perks and cash, enshrined in this fantasy of personal success and the achievement of the American dream for the black community.
I wonder what would happen to a black community if 20 young men went to Stanford and/or MIT in order to go into STEM careers , rather than to a university entirely focused on football. I can almost guarantee you that if all went without a hitch, the community would fare better, and for a longer period of time, than having football players.

I'm guessing Kyle will be addressed in the next part. Looks like Boston Globe isn't holding anything back. They broke news about a gay lover we didn't even know about, mentioned Ryan. They didn't mention anything about their personal relaionship but that was about as close to saying they were romantically involved without saying it. "I would never bring Ry around no thugs."
Sounds like Ryan was his one true love while everyone was just a fuck. Ryan was/is the most attractive of the guys we know about.
by Anonymous | reply 336 | October 17, 2018 8:10 AM |
R395 I had to giggle because after all, Aaron was, for all practical purposes, married to HIS high school sweetheart.
So my guess is that there was likely some degree of romance, even if it wasn't a full blown rings exchanged love relationship. I mean, think how enticing it had to be to be able to hang with the top athlete in the state and one of the top 2 TE's in the country. You know how that shit matters in high school.

Hernandez seemed to have injured himself during a drill. As he recounted at the time, “I had a little bruise on my elbow and was whining about it. [Belichick] was just showing me the love of a father figure and he gave me a kiss on the elbow.’’
Then-Globe football writer Shalise Manza Young inquired whether Hernandez had asked Belichick to make his “boo-boo” better.
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick kisses the elbow of tight end Aaron Hernandez (81) after Hernandez appeared to injure it during a practice at the Gillette Stadium in August 2012. (Amanda Swinhart) “No, I didn’t ask him,’’ Hernandez said, smiling. “I damn sure liked it though. Felt some love.’’

I am not surprised that Gronk chooses to avoid all talk of AH. Remember, they played the same position. I bet there wasn't a great deal of love lost between the two when they were teammates.

So he loved being in jail and even waxed poetically about it over the phone and didn’t miss freedom at all (nor his wife; just his kid)
>The volatile pro footballer, who played three seasons with the Pats before being dropped from the team following his arrest on murder charges, told McDonnell that he didn’t pine for his old life, just his daughter.
>“I don’t miss football. I miss one thing,” Hernandez said.
>“Being free,” McDonnell replied.
>“Freedom — that’s not what I miss. It was the same thing I missed when I was on the streets,” Hernandez said, without elaborating.
Interesting. Maybe ALL his basic needs were met in jail. Or maybe not:
>Hernandez — whose sexuality became a public spectacle during his double-murder trial in March 2017 — also couldn’t tamp down his hatred for a gay inmate. He wanted to punch him.
>“There’s this [expletive] f—-t that walks around too, puts butter on his lips for lipstick. It’s ridiculous,’’ he told a friend in a phone call. “Walks around so flamboyant, like ‘Oh my God,’ crazy …”

I don’t think he was necessarily homophobic. I just think he was only into solidally masculine men and had no time for or connection to effeminate gays and their culture — because why would he? It’s not a culture designed for or catering to guys like him. Quite the opposite. Yet he’d be publically corralled into that fuckery just because he likes penis. And as “problematic” and “self-hating” for not capitulating to its precepts and received opinions. He had no role models: People like him still don’t. They’re simultaneously fetishised, derided and demonised by effeminate a queer hegemonic discourse that squats over the whole gay “culture”. and brooks no dissent. No wonder masculine don’t wanna come out, and have an aversion to 🌈 QuEeR ™️🏳️🌈 culture. Seriously, “identity” is unverifiable unscientific bunk depending more on strength of conviction or wishful thinking than anything concrete. Rachel Dolezal identified as Black. R375 this I know first-hand: Gronk and Aaron used to go clubbing together at the beginning--until Gronk, like other teammates, began to get an idea of what he was like and the trash he hung around with outside of football.
After that, no more socializing. Gronk, goofy as he seems, is a serious athlete and marketer of his brand.

r411 are you fucking kidding me? Do you know how many name athletes hang around thugs and/or 'shady' types? Some of them even have them as part of their entourage. Hernandez might have been in deeper than most, but it's not rare. Point being, Gronk would not have been shocked or put off by this necessarily, and that kind of partying is kept under wraps by teams all the time. He allegedly wasn't the only one, and not just in football.
Everyone will try to distance themselves from him now, especially with the gay angle. It's like nobody in American political/diplomatic circles knew the Bin Ladens after W put them on a plane on 9/11. Please.

I will be criticized for saying this, because it seems any attempt to humanize Aaron is met with derision by those who just want to shout, "MURDERER!!" But I will say it anyway. The fact that the biggest most macho football player in the state of Connecticut that year chose such a sweet looking anti=jock type as his first real love tells me that there absolutely was a very soft and sensitive side to AH. I got a sense of that from some of his writing as well.
It seems to me that nearly all the bad things which happened were in some way related to his shame about being gay and his fear about being discovered. The shooting of the two men from Cape Verde was supposedly because they were slamming him for being gay in that club in Boston. Then the subsequent killing of Odin Lloyd was because he feared that Lloyd would turn on him of questioned about those two men he shot.
I do understand that he had some unsavory fights in Florida, and I have no idea whether they were related to his homosexuality. So I am not excusing his inability to control his actions and think rationally on his internalized shame. He likely had a bit of the "bad seed" element from birth. But all in all, had he not been a big star with too much of a spotlight on his private life, I think he likely would have gone on to live a non-violent life as a gay man.
Oh, and as far as I am concerned, the jury is in and it is settled. Ryan was his true love. Shyanna and Kyle and all the others were distractions. I think he did have some love for Shyanna, but it was not romantic love.
As for Tim Tebow. No. TT was like a god in the state of Fl at that time. He was not just another team mate. Not even close. I doubt seriously that AH would open up to him about his personal life, well at least to that extent. Even Tebow's coach(Urban Meyer) was said to have great reverence for TT.

Married and had a kid recently. No social media that any of us know of. He's probably shook right now, he's likely closeted as well and probably didn't think anyone knew about him and Aaron. But turns our Aaron wasn't as deep in the closet as thought and was telling everyone.

Aaron Hernandez Opens a New Window. was sexually abused by teenage bully when he was just six years old, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.
The Former New England Patriots star, who famously committed suicide Opens a New Window. in his prison cell on April 19, 2017, was forced to perform sex acts on an older boy at his babysitter’s house, his brother Jonathan claims in a new tell-all book.
In The Truth About Aaron, Jonathan writes about how he remembered the incident: “This boy, who was in high school, frightened us. He was a bully and his brother scared us with knives that he flashed at us.”
He then described how the boy had forced Aaron into a tent during a game of hide and seek, and how his brother would not talk about it afterward.
In 2017, a few months before he hung himself with a bed sheet, Aaron confided to his mother, Terri.
Jonathan wrote: “He told her how the older boy would force him to perform oral sex. Aaron said it started when he was six years old and continued for several years.”
Jonathan details in the book Opens a New Window. how his brother struggled with his sexual identity and to come to terms with his preference for men.
He eventually confided in his mother but asked her to keep his secret.
When Jonathan asked Aaron if he were gay, he lashed out and demanded he never ask him that again or he’d kill him.
Aaron also confided to lawyer George Leontire while he was behind bars, saying he felt the abuse Opens a New Window. was a factor in his being gay.
Speaking on a podcast, he said: “Hernandez seemed to think the sexual abuse had made him gay.”
As Radar readers know, Aaron was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2013 killing of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd Opens a New Window. . He was sentenced to life in prison without parole, but only served two years before he took his own life behind bars.

I think Tim Tebow definitely knew Aaron was gay. Aaron was not good at hiding in the closet. People at the Boston club, the guy who was murdered was gonna spill as well. Aaron spoke about gay sex in the locker room and like walking around naked.
Damn, imagine him walking around naked while he was roommates with Tim in college?

Interesting comments on the youtube video of Ryan at Aaron's trial On the subject of Aaron and Ryan being lovers some guy posts:
"this is true. I have Ryan's number he's going to write a tell all" "Ryan was recently married and was engaged during this whole process. Ryan was the one Aaron sent money to before he went to jail as well as shayanna and avielle. Ryan was suppose to use some of the money as hush money for a character witness I think her name started with an L but he kept the money afraid he would be prosecuted if he gave the lady money"
With Ryan's name now popping up on the Boston Globe report, I actually beileve he would write a tell all book.
So we had Aaron's lawyer write a book about him, his brother. His prison lover was allegedly writing one and maybe Ryan's book. And if Dennis is smart he'll get in on the action and write one as well

Thinking that Aaron would have lived some happy butterflies and rainbows existence as an out gay man if no for his football career is insane. Even if he wasn’t famous, he was still in a treacherous gang. He lived that life, and it was obviously more important to him than even his own career.
by Anonymous | reply 477 | October 29, 2018 6:33 PM |
I am still a bit confused about why he stayed with the gang when he made it big? Did they blackmail him to reveal his dirty secrets (drug dealing, assault, murder?) if he leaves them? If so wouldn't it made more sense for him to get rid of them instead of staying? And how was that criminal gang ok with Aaron's relationship with Ryan, an outsider?
by Anonymous | reply 478 | October 29, 2018 6:41 PM |
Preach r477. These people are fucking crazy. Aaron was never “coming out” (alive). Literally. People are forgetting his prison homophobia — he was still in that mindset.

Ryan is as deeply closeted as Aaron was. He’s not writing some tell-all detailing the many nights Aaron lubed up his young twink hole and pounded his white boy ass after sneaking in through Ryan’s bedroom window once football practice was over and Aaron had to unleash his pent up Latin sexual energy that built from seeing his football jock buddies naked and soapy in the locker room showers. The brother won’t even identify him by name, so why would he feel compelled to come out?
by Anonymous | reply 480 | October 29, 2018 6:47 PM |
R480, I am not sure what you are inferring. Please continue describing of Aaron's need to plow his friend. Please continue and don't leave out anything! Oh, and were there condoms used? TIA!

As some writer wrote, it was so sad that he went to the Pats, back to his hometown, where all the bad influences were. If he had gone to the west coast, his story would have ended a different way.
And from reading countless articles, he was a "follower". So I don't think he would have been able to get away from the gang. And I believe the gang doesn't allow gay members, pretty sure they would have killed him for lying and "playing" them for so many years.

by Anonymous | reply 486 | October 29, 2018 7:49 PM |
What confuses me about this, is Ryan getting married and having a kid.
I don't think that a quote/unquote gay person would do this.
It almost makes me wonder if he was only with Aaron, because Aaron wanted it, and not Ryan?
Could it be that Ryan just liked having the affection of the "big jock" in high school, as well as being his friend? He could then hang with the "popular" crowd.
And then after Aaron made it big in the NFL, Ryan got to enjoy the perks of being friends/lovers with a huge celebrity football player.
I know it sounds far fetched, but maybe Ryan is really straight, but gay for "benefits." And Aaron was the gay guy, pursuing the straight guy Ryan.
This story could be much more complicated than it seems on the surface. And I don't think that anybody will ever know the truth.

Hernandez developed a close friendship in middle school with Ryan McDonnell, and when they became adults Hernandez treated him more differently than most of his other Bristol friends. He shielded McDonnell from his criminal activity, his “thugging,’’ as Hernandez called it. He is very close to McDonnell’s family, especially his father, Tom McDonnell.
Ryan McDonnell is going from Connecticut to visit Hernandez in California. Ryan’s father expresses concern.
Tom McDonnell to Hernandez: “Hey I know that Ry is coming out I just want to tell you boys to be smart and safe no thugging around and I love u both.’’
Hernandez: “I never thug when I’m with ry lol and I will always take care of ur boy.’’
Hernandez offers to pay for a California vacation for Ryan McDonnell’s parents. Ryan’s father is grateful but suspects Hernandez is making the gesture to please Ryan and has told Hernandez he doesn’t want him to feel obligated.
Hernandez to Tom McDonnell: “I swear in my father’s grave and my love for everyone I love I asked u because it was on my mind and cuz I love y all!!! I did jus get off phone wit ry and told him I asked to see what he thought and he seemed happy I asked and said u would love it!!! It came from my heart and hope u truly do come cuz it would mean a lot to me cuz I love u guys and will feel good to show u guys a good time.’’

Aaron Hernandez exchanged thousands of text messages from March 28 to June 9, 2013, while he was concealing his role in the murders of two men in Boston’s South End and the attempted homicide of a friend, Alexander Bradley, who was with him during that double killing.
The texts show just how much Hernandez was spinning out of control. Fearful that he and his family were in danger, he had asked Patriots coach Bill Belichick just weeks earlier if he could be traded to a West Coast team, but that was rejected, according to his agent. Belichick asked a staffer to help Hernandez find a new place to live.
Even as he confronts a vengeful nemesis in Bradley, Hernandez projects an upbeat attitude with teammates, friends and family.

Hernandez needs surgery to repair a shoulder he injured in a game. The procedure, scheduled for the next day, will be performed by a surgeon who had operated on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s knee.
Tom Brady to Hernandez: “Good luck! I hope everything goes well...love you my brother and hope to see you soon.’’
March 27
Hernandez to Brady: “Thanks and went well. Now time to recover and get back to wat we all do best! Love ya and was excited to throw wit u all off season but [expletive] happens and I will be ready. Tell the family I said hi and I’m sure I’ll see ya soon.’’
Brady’s personal trainer, Alex Guerrero, is managing Hernandez’s rehab.
Hernandez to Guerrero: “If u ain’t leave yet u could jus come tomorrow cuz I’m dozin but if u r on u r way u cud come! these pills make me sick to my stomach.’’
Guerrero: “I will see you tomorrow night. You need to eat when you take the meds.’’
Hernandez’s uncle, Vito Hernandez, checks in from their hometown of Bristol, Conn.
Vito to Aaron: “When you coming home so i can see the family we keep missing each other luv ya.’’
Aaron to Vito: “Haven’t been home in forever an won’t be till prolly season but love u n will let u kno when I get there.’’

Bradley — his friend he had allegedly tried to kill — unleashes the opening volley in a text war that will rage for months. Bradley accuses Hernandez of shooting him in the face and leaving him for dead in Florida. Hernandez identifies Bradley in his contacts list as “Lies.’’
Bradley to Hernandez: “Yo the crazy part about all this is u did that [expletive] for no reason n me being the real friend i was to u i didn’t try to ruin u even after u tried to kill me think about how real that is so i was the real friend at the end of the day n the tears should be in my eyes after the way u betrayed me.’’
Hernandez: “I love u and u r not gonna frame me for some bread...Always will love u cuz u were my brother n u kno that but hope the best for u.’’
Bradley: “I would never try to frame u u left me with one eye and a lot of head trauma u owe for what u did n its too bad u don’t know me enuff to know that this convo is private between us this ain’t for no lawyer or cop to see we both know what happened the truth is the truth…u too paranoid that’s what made u do this shit u did.’’
Hernandez: “I will always be there for u till the day u die but not in the state of mind ur in nd been in and I don’t kno wat gotten into u after all the yrs we were inseparable but everything aside ur always on my mind and I love u and always will no homo.’’
Bradley: “Whats crazy is i believe that part is true u prolly do think about how real of a [N-word] i am n how u even flipped on me but what sickens me is the fact that u r denying this [expletive] like its for the lawyer or cops you must really not know me but i guess i didn’t know u either cause i woulda never thought ud try to end me.’’

Thanks so much for posting the texts and all the book stuff. Now I am more confused than ever(as to the motives for AH's actions)
That ninja Bradley really loved Aaron. I remember him on the stand practically doing a Romeo and Juliet type soliloquy declaring his undying love to AH. And this from a man who lost an eye to Aaron's Glock.
I actually believe that AH was able to compartmentalize his life as he described. I can see him keeping all the thugging away from Ryan who he viewed as his special prince. I had a similar relationship with a tough thug many years ago. While my mother was convinced he was going to rape and defile me(I was 18, but she was a smothering mother) he was actually the only dude who DIDN'T practically rape me on our first date. My guess is that he treated Ryan and his family as though they were his dream ideal of a family he wished he were in. I must say I am impressed as fuck that Ryan's dad was in no way interested in the ballin' lifestyle (free trips in glamorous hotels etc) The Mc Donnells were clearly from a different economic stratum than the Hernandez family. Not that one couldn't tell that from Ryan's over all look.
I am somewhat piqued by the theory up thread which questions whether or not Ryan is actually gay gay. I remember when describing the relationship to his big brother he said that most of the time they would just hang out and cuddle.
I am not a gay man, but judging from what I read here, if any of you had access to Aaron's ass and or dick 24/7, I doubt there would have been much time for cuddling. JK, but still, I think that the love from Ryan's perspective may have been more traditional(brotherly) and less sexual(lover-ly.) But of course he was capable of showing his affection is a physical way when Aaron needed it.
I am back to thinking that Aaron was likely a top...or at least versa. I can't wait to see the Dr Oz interview with his bro, I loathe Oz with everything holy, but I am willing to tolerate him for an hour in this special case.
by Anonymous | reply 501 | October 30, 2018 7:23 AM |
By the way, it wasn't my intent to imply that there would not be cuddling in my post above^, what I meant was there would be plenty of sex before the cuddling.

Likely a combo, R453. Bipolar and TBI and drugs and lack of structure/boundaries in his life possibly exacerbating both. They keep popping out kids like bipolar does not have a strong genetic component.

The dad sounds like he would’ve given the OK, too.

by Anonymous | reply 508 | October 30, 2018 3:14 PM |
I agree r505. The conversation had that tone.
I think Ryan and Alex Bradley were the two guys that Aaron was closest to. Aaron was so compartmentalized. Aaron loved Ryan and put him on a pedestal, like a wife. But his relationship with Bradley was much more complicated. Bradley was the one he felt comfortable enough to unload all his dark issues on. You can tell Bradley loved Aaron, if not like a lover then a brother. Even after Aaron tried to kill him, he still didn't out him (which is what I think Bradley means by "ruin" in their texts)

Hernandez was a closeted young man whose childhood marred his future. It is obvious that he had a huge heart and was a loving human being, who was so atrophied by homophobia, it pivoted him toward seeking acceptance in a gang. Unfortunately, the professional opportunities afforded to him were not great enough to overcome what was so deeply ingrained in Aaron: self hatred.
Aaron’s behavior before and after the murder, show us that he was not very bright. I do not say this in a disparaging way at all. However, a person of above average intelligence would have coordinated the crime in a better way. Again, not endorsing criminal activity, but Aaron was just very unorganized, paranoid, and sloppy. Surely the advanced stages of CTE had something to do with the behavior.
This guy was a good kid who got fucked over from day one, didn’t have the tools to handle the huge opportunities before him, and committed a senseless act of murder for no good reason.
His history of violence is a direct result of the environment he was raised in, and while plenty of us have grown up in abusive and dysfunctional homes, most of us here weren’t playing football since the time we were nine, and getting repeatedly concussed. The CTE is a HUGE factor in this.
All of that said, I too, believe that his story might have turned out different, had he played elsewhere.
The biggest tragedy here, aside from the main tragedy of murder of another man, and suicide, is that Aaron didn’t have the wherewithal to handle being gay, and becoming an icon for other gay boys who wanted to go into pro sports. Aaron could have been a game changer with the right team behind him. But all that was around him was sheer dysfunction, and having Tim Tebow as his roommate was never going to change that. By then, it was pretty much, too late.

NFL star-turned-killer Aaron Hernandez was on a two-day K2 bender that culminated with his jail-cell suicide, according to a prison probe of the incident.
Details of the troubled 27-year-old’s final days at Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Massachusetts were revealed in a redacted portion of a 132-page report reviewed by the Boston Globe.
“Well he’s spent the last two days smoking K2 in his cell and he wasn’t in the right frame of mind,” an inmate told authorities investigating Hernandez’s suicide the day of his death on April 19, 2017.
The unidentified inmate added, “That s–t is [expletive] all these young kids up” and “They aren’t going to stop no matter what happens in here.”
Previous reports have suggested smoking K2 drove Hernandez — who was found with 3:16 scrawled in blood on his forehead and scribbled religious verses on his cell walls — to suicide.
But toxicology results found the former tight end had no drugs, including the synthetic marijuana, in his system when he died.
A toxicologist told the Globe that even the best tests may not detect K2.
“These are so potent, the doses are so low, that when a person takes it, you can only measure it in their blood for a short period of time,’’ said Marilyn Huestis, who teaches at the Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp at Thomas Jefferson University. “So labs will frequently miss it in the blood.”
Hernandez was serving a life sentence in the 2013 murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd. He had been acquitted in a double murder just days before he was found dead.

R516 It boggles the mind how accurately the DL detectives called every detail in this case. I was here from the jump, and we had access to tips and inside stuff from our Boston DL er, and we had cyber sleuths who were digging shit up a week before the media was printing it.
There are a hell of a lot of very bright people here, and they dig to verify and/or discover stuff one would never get from reading the MSM.
That is on of the main reasons I love this place. I remember the night that Muslim and his wife were on the loose in San Bernardino, Ca. after shooting up a city meeting. Our DLers had their names, address, FB stuff and more before the news networks had jack shit.

9 fascinating lines from Aaron Hernandez's brother's new book
by Anonymous | reply 525 | November 1, 2018 8:30 AM |
"I asked Aaron if he was gay."
Aaron's sexual orientation has been a particular focus of tabloid gossip since his death, and his brother's book does not shy away from the subject.
Jonathan writes of an incident at his bachelor party in which he walked in on Aaron and two male friends lying in bed together without a shirt. But more important than his orientation is Aaron's response to his brother's question.
"'If you are, I don't care,' I said. 'I love you. You are my brother.' 'Don't you ever ask me that again,' Aaron said. 'If you say that again, I'll f---ing kill you.'"
by Anonymous | reply 526 | November 1, 2018 2:50 PM |
"Mom, I'm gay."
While Aaron was behind bars, he confided to his mother several secrets that had haunted him for years, which she then relayed to Jonathan, he writes.
Aaron told her that an older boy from his childhood would force him to perform oral sex, and that it started when he was 6 years old and continued for several years, Jonathan writes. Hernandez also said that he was gay and that he had a "true love" whom he had been hiding from everyone, according to the book.
"I hated living a secret, and I hated all the lies, but I felt like I had to do all those things because people wouldn't accept me," Aaron said, Jonathan writes in the book. "There was no way I could come out as an NFL player."
by Anonymous | reply 527 | November 1, 2018 3:04 PM |
I find it hard to believe that Aaron said that, orbsaid it exactly like that — sounds far too neatly cathartic like a bad script from a tv movie or soap
by Anonymous | reply 528 | November 1, 2018 3:10 PM |
Yeah Aaron is the type to get caught fucking Ryan in a sex tape posted online and still find himself unable to utter the words “I’m gay.” To him it was probably a mental illness related to childhood sexual abuse. That’s why that part is jarring.

by Anonymous | reply 531 | November 1, 2018 10:21 PM |
The only thing that could be more juicy than this book would be if Ryan wrote it himself. Ryan really wiggled his way out of this unscathed, for him arguably be the most important person in Aaron's life. He has gone on to create a family with his wife and no one really mentions him but us here.
Ryan was clearly who Aaron truly loved, and I wonder if most of his anger and depression came from him never being able to have the relationship with Ryan that he really wanted.
by Anonymous | reply 532 | November 2, 2018 2:39 AM |
How much money did Aaron give Ryan? Didn't he deposit money into his bank account before he was arrested or around the trial?
by Anonymous | reply 533 | November 2, 2018 3:36 AM |
I will bet that he spent a fortune in gifts and travel on Ryan, but I can't imagine that he would give him a big chunk of his estate(before it was gone) rather than see it go to his daughter. And, even though I don't especially like her, Shyana probably deserved something as well.
by Anonymous | reply 534 | November 2, 2018 7:31 PM |
R534, I don’t think that there was a lot of money left. Aaron only played pro football for a short period of time, and he had to pay lawyers’ fees for two murder trials.

He coulda been the king of the gays. Could’ve made “gay” great again! Not that it ever was (or not in the post-classical age) . But he could’ve changed that narrative for ever! No subsequent “coming outs” will come close in terms of athletic prowess combined with unimpeachable raw masculinity, as well as off the chart sexual appeal..not for a looong ass time anyway. Goodnight sweet prince

by Anonymous | reply 539 | November 3, 2018 9:48 AM |
He signed a huge contract to play, I think it was $41M. I don't know if the Patriots cutting him meant he would have to repay/forfeit anything, but usually players do not. Which is why teams hate cutting players.
by Anonymous | reply 540 | November 3, 2018 10:01 AM |
R540, football contracts are not guaranteed. He had to sue the Patriots to get the $1 million (or so) bonus that he WAS guaranteed, but once they fired him, that was it.
Baseball contracts are guaranteed, so they wind up with much more money than football players, which is outrageous, but football players have a bad union.

Podcast was really good this week. Unless I’m reaching too much they seemed to infer that Ryan was the “other reason (aside from his daughter)” that Aaron missed being free. Also, Ryan seemed to be just as anti-effeminate judging by the phone convo.
I’m still not clear why the prosecution wanted to explore the gay angle or why they thought it was relevant, what info they actually had, and why they abandoned that angle if they thought it was relevant to motive.
Amazing how that other prisoner was able to gain entry into AH’s cell before lockdown and hide under the bed (they’ve done that before) smoke K2 and exit without being caught. Has this guy been identified? Is it the one he promised the watch to?

Ryan must really really be tempted to cash-in. It’s quite amazing he hasn’t thus far (as far as we know). Highly virtuous? Being BFF with AH and no doubt turning a blind eye to his depredations (even if he didn’t know the extent) says otherwise. Is the silence about preserving his het image or saving his wife embarasment...when almost everyone already suspects he was AH’s true love or fuckbuddy, making it an excercise in futility when he could come out as bi or “bi” and make some money for their kids. Or maybe he got t enough money from Aaron?

Just finished his brother's novel. Really good read.
Aaron really didn't stand a chance with the CTE and everything, but he knew he was gay. Contemplated leaving the NFL to be with his lover. Told his favorite cousin and Mom he was gay. A friend or two knew, also his lovers. Said he's been in love with the same guy since he was 10 years old and called him everyday after practice when he played for the Patriots. Said he loved Shayanna, but had to get fucked up to be intimate with a woman and stayed out with his friends late hoping she'd be asleep by the time he got back.

I've got to admit that I do find the whole story appealing in a "well, ONCE AGAIN (being in) the closet kills!" sort of way. To think this hunk of a man, this rock star athlete of masculinity, was gay and had a love with a male all the way back to being 10 years of age. So sad he couldn't get his life in order. He was a gang member! How was he worried about coming out? No one was going to fuck with a gang member. And trust this, other gang members would not be upset to his face about him being gay (I'm sure he had a few in bed) because he was bringing in the $$$$$$.

I still wonder if Ryan was truly gay or if he just went along for the ride. He probably didn't mind messing around as a horny teen. But he seemed to move on just fine. He got married and had a kid. Maybe he was straight or bi and once the domineering rich boyfriend went away he just moved on like he would've before. Maybe Aaron was just someone he messed with as a kid and was scared to get away from. I'm curious if he felt the same way about Aaron that Aaron felt about him. Or if he just didn't rock the boat. Especially when his adolencent mess around guy got rich and famous.

by Anonymous | reply 596 | November 9, 2018 6:34 AM |
R595 That is the million dollar question. I am still on the fence as to whether or not Ryan was an "according to Hoyle born gay" man.
I have no doubt that he loved and adored Aaron, but would have absolutely been a sexual love relationship were it not for AH's orientation? Of curse we will never know for certain. Ryan could stay married for forty years and have 4 kids, but we will never truly know. Whatever they were, theirs was a long and complicated relationship---that we now do know. And from reading AH's letters, texts and such, it was a full of lovey dovey shit was expressed pretty openly. (I am thinking of Aaron's phone conversation with Ryan's dad.)
This whole thing has left me so sad for Aaron....I don't get a fat fuck what the assholes here say. Yeah, he's a murderer, but he was an incredibly complex man who lived a life full of both pain and love.
And frankly at this point, I have come to believe that there may well have been some playful grab ass with Tebow. I absolutely did not think there was until watching Aaron's bro being interviewed. I doubt there is a gay leaning man on the planet who did not share some level of sex play with him. That could be as innocent as mutual masturbation all the way to frottage, but I would lay money that there was no anal sex with TT.
The trips were when Ryan and Aaron were able to be a couple and show affection to each other, and the Costa Rica trip was like a honeymoon.
by Anonymous | reply 598 | November 9, 2018 12:52 PM |
Ryan and Aaron were childhood friends. It would be really strange if Ryan kept being his friend out of fear (from Aaron sending his thug friend to beat him up when he breaks Aaron's heart?) or obligation. Only someone who really loves him would be ok with hanging around someone who needs handlers to resolve any issues that occur with his anger management issues. Aaron may have shielded his relationship with Ryan from his thug friends and maybe even the public, but Aaron sure had a lot of demons he had to fight with even when he's with Ryan and apparently Ryan stuck with him even when Aaron was in prison.
