I am pretty sure he watches Nicole Wallace, as yesterday's tweet was timed right after Jennifer Rubin called him soulless. Even Nicolle Wallace interrupted the group talked to update the viewers of Cheeto's amusing tweet.

by Anonymousreply 27May 15, 2018 7:48 PM

What was the tweet R27?

by Anonymousreply 28May 15, 2018 7:51 PM

Ha! Trump got played. Kim Jong Un is threatening to call off the summit.

by Anonymousreply 30May 15, 2018 8:00 PM

Whatever happened to the story about his doctor?

by Anonymousreply 31May 15, 2018 8:04 PM

r26 it's kind of wryly amusing how much the right wing press (as well as some idiots at the NYT) were trying to make this into Trump's moment/Nobel Peace Prize, as if that would ever happen. North Korea has done this multiple times before. When it fails, I'm sure they will bend over backwards deflecting blame for him, too.

by Anonymousreply 32May 15, 2018 8:18 PM

DPRK knows how desperate Trump is for talks and a "deal." Therefore they will now test to see how much they can extract. Will Trump offer reassurances now? If yes, they will push a bit further.

DPRK sees Trump make concessions. They want some of their own.

by Anonymousreply 33May 15, 2018 8:31 PM

Their concession so far has been to dismantle the nuclear test site that they didn't need anymore and had collapsed underground, anyway. All smoke and mirrors so far.

by Anonymousreply 34May 15, 2018 8:33 PM

Trump probably has multiple TVs in his bedroom and other rooms and watches Fox, CNN, and MSNBC at the same time. He likely mutes one to hear another. He wants to know what everyone is saying about him. He reacts to too any people, stories, and shows, not to be watching multiple channels on cable. Note, he doesn't read newspapers much, and certainly not in depth.

by Anonymousreply 35May 15, 2018 8:36 PM

They totally got played. Now how are they gonna spin this to be Hillary’s fault?

by Anonymousreply 36May 15, 2018 8:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 76May 16, 2018 12:18 AM

Although it prints plenty of non-critical, PR-type pieces about the Trump administration, the Daily Mail also prints plenty of negative articles about it, and the DM's definitely been printing more of the latter than it used to. I don't think it has very high standards for journalistic accuracy overall, though. So I hope this new story is true.

by Anonymousreply 77May 16, 2018 12:20 AM

Chris is poo pooing the story, only 1 source from The Daily Mail

by Anonymousreply 78May 16, 2018 12:25 AM

Forgive me if this was mentioned somewhere in the last two-three parts of The Mueller Investigation saga, but I've just now seen that Michael J. Avenatti and Trump were mentioned in a May 2006 AP wire news report. Trivial maybe, but I find it interesting.
A man who claims NBC Universal, Donald Trump and the creator of NBC's "The Apprentice" stole his idea has settled his lawsuits in state and federal court, his attorney said.
Mark Bethea alleged he and Velocity Entertainment Group came up with the idea for an unscripted series called "C.E.O." that would have been hosted by Trump and set in a corporate office environment. Representing Velocity Entertainment Group, Mark Bethea's marketing/production company, in case outline presentations preceding jury selection, are Browne Greene, Scott Carr and Michael J. Avenatti with the Santa Monica law firm of Greene Broillet.
In August 2000, Mark Bethea, age 44, conceived a reality television show entitled "C.E.O." which had contestants competing against one another in a corporate environment for promotions, perks and benefits and which proposed Donald Trump as its host. Bethea registered a 5-page treatment of his idea for "C.E.O." with the Writers Guild of America in Los Angeles on August 30, 2000.
"Mark Burnett and Conrad Riggs unscrupulously lifted Mark Bethea's 'C.E.O.' idea and incorporated its signature elements into 'The Apprentice' without giving Bethea any credit or compensation for his originality," stated Browne Greene. "Although Burnett and Riggs are the current darlings of the reality television genre, they are not above the law. Our job is to put an end to their bullying and intimidation tactics and to see to it that Mark Bethea has his day in court.

I actually worry if we find out everything that we think is true, and then, nobody cares. this country is so corrupt right now. what happens if we find out trump is the asswipe that everyone sane knows he is, and nobody else cares. maybe I'm being crazy, but I'm kind of going to a crazy place.

Trumpanze is an idiot. He started strutting around with his imaginary Nobel Peace Prize almost as soon as the "negotiations" were underway. If there was anyone left over at the State Department, they could have warned this bunch of ignorant fools that dealing with the North Koreans is no walk in the park. Oh, but of course, Cheetolini knows better than everyone else.

I'd add to R86 that if the Qatari report is true, it represents an MO—basically a policy—of bribery on the part of Trump through Cohen and presumably other minions. Qatar can't be an isolated case.

The Dems can't just run against Trump's "values"; they even have to get more concrete than "corruption." They have to stress over and over that Trump, as a matter of routine policy, is wasting billions in U.S. taxpayer money to enrich companies in China, Russia, the Gulf—and his own.

by Anonymousreply 132May 16, 2018 2:03 PM

by Anonymousreply 133May 16, 2018 2:12 PM

Trump is raking the money in as fast and furious as he can. And our congress is going to let him. And how well did the average family of four do under his tax cuts. I got no benefit

by Anonymousreply 134May 16, 2018 2:14 PM

Let’s review just a portion of the past week’s developments emanating from connections to1600 Pennsylvania Ave:

Credible allegations of bribery; seriously ill senator insulted by White House personnel, the First Lady hospitalized; scores of rock throwing protestors (and their children) shot dead by one of our closest allies; and the President of the United States turns out to be dumber than a prostitute, her attorney and the leader of North Korea.

by Anonymousreply 135May 16, 2018 2:17 PM

The assets of all Trump properties need to be frozen; this needs to be those that are foreign as well. Until criminal investigations are completed, taxes paid, and full accountability is determined and on the record, nothing should be released. After all fines and penalties are settled nothing should be released back to the Trumps-Kushners and their cohorts. If there is a net deficet, the government sells off properties to cover taxes, fines, fees, and unpaid revenue to the legitimate contractors where applicable.

Congress is being horrible with their enabling, spin, denials, and refusals to do their job because the Kochs and company don't want governmental change that will cut into their power, profits, and rape of the nation's natural resouces.

Attendees of the controversial June 2016 Trump Tower meeting gave conflicting testimony to Capitol Hill investigators about how long White House senior adviser Jared Kushner was in the room, according to transcripts released Wednesday by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Kushner has always maintained that he arrived late and left early to the meeting, which was arranged after Donald Trump Jr. was promised dirt on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Also in the room were a group of Russians, some with shadowy ties to the government.

Four of the attendees, including Trump Jr. and two of the Russians, backed up Kushner's recollection, according to the transcripts. But two of the other people in the room that day testified that Kushner stayed for the entire time, or was there nearly the entire time.

Trump isn't taking a bullet for anyone. He doesn't love Ivanka, he wants to fuck her. If he hasn't already. He doesn't love his wives, his children, his grandchildren, or anyone else. He is incapable of it. He's a raging narcissist and a sociopath. The kids will be expected to protect him, not the other way around. Everyone will go under that bus before he does.

The OGE basically referred Donald to the DOJ for possibly committing a crime.

WASHINGTON ― A 30-year-old former CIA employee who the federal government suspects of ― but has not charged with ― giving a massive trove of agency documents to WikiLeaks is also facing charges in Virginia, where he’s accused of snapping photos as he sexually assaulted a passed-out friend as she lay on the floor of his bathroom.

Joshua Adam Schulte was arrested in August on federal child pornography charges, but it wasn’t until Tuesday that The Washington Post and The New York Times reported the government was interested in Schulte because it suspected him of providing WikiLeaks with thousands of documents on the CIA’s hacking operations. The “Vault 7 leak,” published in March 2017, was the largest loss of classified documents in CIA history. Schulte’s Manhattan apartment was searched one week after it was published.

Jared Kushner became “agitated” and “infuriate[d]” at the infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting when a Kremlin-connected lawyer droned on about U.S. sanctions, instead of delivering on a promise to provide damaging information on Hillary Clinton. That’s according to Rob Goldstone, a British music promoter and friend of the Trumps who helped set up the meeting between Natalia Veselnitskaya and Donald Trump Jr.—and who testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the Trump Tower confab.

Goldstone’s testimony stands in contrast to what Kushner said in public about the meeting. In a July 2017 statement, Kushner paints himself as bored and confused by Veselnitskaya’s presentation.

Acts that would have been shocking if committed by previous administrations are overshadowed and crowded by equally transgressive acts that pile up into something that would like us to forget that this is not normal. Even when Trump is gone, the corruption of a significant percent of the American population, those with whom we don’t merely disagree on principles and goals, but on reality itself, will be a lingering problem. They are weaponized minds, and their hate, as hate always is, is easily directed. The Republican Party itself now stands for little other than its own grasp on power, and for the domination of this country’s white male Christian-identified minority over the majority of us.

by Anonymousreply 202May 17, 2018 1:33 AM

Rudy has been out of sight the last few days......he needed a reason to have all eyes on him.

by Anonymousreply 204May 17, 2018 1:39 AM

r202, he said Trump would not be indicted as president due to precedence. That does not mean he won't be charged at some point (Mueller didn't hire all those money laundering guys for nothing). The point was to get Fox News to act like this is new information (it isn't, Clinton set the precedent), and to twist it to his base that Mueller said he will never charge Trump--that is false.

by Anonymousreply 205May 17, 2018 1:44 AM

Does anyone investigate anything anymore?

by Anonymousreply 206May 17, 2018 1:56 AM

Nope, he'll be indicted. There's too long of a list. It will be history and set a whole new precedent. No one is above the law. No one.

by Anonymousreply 207May 17, 2018 2:24 AM

Congress is not doing the extensive investigative work that is part of their job. Until the Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan types are tossed, there will be little done that is a constructive check on the corruption in the executive branch.

Rudy is full of BS. Wait until the Trump family members start getting indicted. They have no protection

by Anonymousreply 209May 17, 2018 2:40 AM

I thought it was Rudy saying Mueller would never charge Trump, not that Mueller told him he wouldn't charge Trump. I think Rudy also said a President can be a subject but not a target of a criminal investigation. Now there was some speculation by former DOJ lawyers on MSNBC with Ari, who said Mueller is a very conservative guy as far as the way he works and it is possible that Mueller would deliver his findings to Congress with a some directive for Impeachment.

Of course ultimately if he takes that course then it would be up to Congress to begin proceedings. But my guess is the media is going to get that information once Congress has it, and it will get leaked out. Public uproar about the findings of a criminal investigation might make it impossible for Congress to ignore. Especially if several million of us are camped out on the front lawn of the Capitol.

by Anonymousreply 210May 17, 2018 2:43 AM

I agree with who ever just said that it very well may be Donnie Jr. who has a pee tape. After reviewing tonight's bombshells, I'm also convinced there's a prison cell with Donnie Jr.'s name on it. His wife is smart to divorce him and get her cash before the government strips him of his assets.

So let's assume Jared, Donnie and Michael Cohen go to jail and Donald Trump Sr. won't go to jail but he will leave the Presidency one way or another. He will not serve two terms.

by Anonymousreply 224May 17, 2018 3:42 AM

by Anonymousreply 225May 17, 2018 3:59 AM

People keep talking about Mueller's anniversary, but IMO I think that the investigation began with the FBI and the FBI Counter Intel divisions, at the end of July, 2016. So this July it will be two years. No doubt Mueller brought resources and expertise to the effort but I believe the two guys who Trump fired, Comey and MC Cabe were on to something important. I think the Counter Intel guy left too Schrok? Wasn't he busted for saying insulting things about Hillary or Trump to his girlfriend? Mueller fired him.

We have heard he has some kind of relationship with the Kochs, but Manafort brought him in. Do I think Pence is really dirty? Probably not. But he is part of this and he ought to be dumped. He may very well become President. But he will never be elected President. In fact it is my hope he is never elected to or holds any public office again in life.

Mike Pence may be the ultimate example of failing upward.

He did nothing in Congress and was a disaster as Indiana governor, widely reviled and going to lose re-election.

Then Trump picked him as a symbol, a carrot for evangelicals, and now he's a heartbeat away from being the leader of the free world.

You will laugh at a grammar queen, but I believe the lack of a comma after either "liabilities" or "2016" was intentional.

And I don't think Pence has the paper trail that we've been discovering behind Trump. I'd love to get Pence out of there, but most of his crimes are considered rather benign.

If anybody knows or has anything - PLEASE - send the evidence to Michael Avenatti.

Right-wing media has been abuzz the last few days with allegations that the FBI had a "spy" in the Trump campaign. This morning, Trump addresses it in a tweet:

Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI “SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN EMBEDDED INFORMANT.” Andrew McCarthy says, “There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.” If so, this is bigger than Watergate!

The problem is that there is a demand for guys like Trump, because that demand was created in the past by others. And, unfortunately, the demand grows bigger for worse people in power (yesterday, GWB, today Trump, tomorrow ...?) thanks to the scandalized and manipulative media. As long some people are willing to satisfy that demand for worse (to suit their own agenda of power and self enrichment) instead of going the opposite direction and only offer someone slighty less bad (and after that someone less bad than the previous one, etc.) this is not going to change unless with some seriously drastic Nazi-like solution where the Deplorables demographic is either killed or made sterile so they can't breed future generations of Deplorables. Of course that would also have to include getting rid of the snake oil salesmen who create the demand for the likes of Trump in the first place.

Major supporter of the No Climate Tax bill put forth by Americans for Prosperity, one of the Koch superpacs. Pence, along with Paul Ryan and so many GOP congressmen and women belong to the Koch brothers. The Koch brothers are evil. Even Sloppy Steve Bannon hates them. And Steve likes everyone- he even likes the crazy Mercers. The Mercers are saints compared to Charles and David Koch. Read Jane Mayers book Dark Money or watch the documentary- which is hard to find. Pence is essentially taking control of the steering committee for the midterms. Corey L. was put on it as a Trump loyalist. While Pence gazes at Trump like a horny ho and relentlessly praises Trump, you know he is conniving to be President at the first opportunity. Pence is not particularly beloved by all Trump supporters, but is adored by fundamentialists/right-wing evangelicals and their hate-spewing preachers and interest groups. Pence is hostile to gays and opposes gay rights. He has an agenda there. The media during the 2016 campaign virtually ignored asking him about it. Not one question by CNN was posed during the 2016 VP debates about Pence's anti-gay stances.

Of course CNN has hired several talking-heads with anti-gay records to yap in behalf of Trump/Congressional Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 281May 17, 2018 8:47 PM

R280 Minor correction: they should be WELL hung.

by Anonymousreply 282May 17, 2018 8:53 PM

Remember what happened when Pence was selected as VP?

Trump wanted Chris Crispy but Ivanka and Jared were pushing Pence very hard. Trump didn’t even know who he was, or barely. Then, when the rumor that Trump was about to select him dropped, it was said that Trump was trying to back out of offering it to him at the last minute. He was supposed to get out off his plane and go see Pence to make the offer. Instead, he was on the phone calling people to try to get out of it somehow, but Ivanka and Jared were telling him it was too late and everyone knew about it already and he couldn’t take it back now. He met with the Pences with extreme reluctance.

Pence himself acted like a blushing bride, talking about how much he loved Trump and pushed Trump into an awkward position. A lot of people would have realized the candidate didn’t want them and gracefully made up some excuse, but not Pence.

I got the impression that one of his reservations was that Pence and Mother were Evangelicals, and he didn’t want sticks in the mud like them around. Another was that Pence was so unpopular in his home state that he couldn’t get re-elected there. But people around Trump really pushed for him and swore he just had to have him. So what was that really about?

by Anonymousreply 283May 17, 2018 8:57 PM

One thing that really irks me about Republicans putting up with this shit is that as long as they see themselves getting something out of it they are willing to support this criminal enterprise. Be it guns, bigotry, oppression of women, LGBT, minorities, and refugees, stripping the safety net from the vulnerable, whatever their shtick is the trump family & co in the White House is A-OK as long as their hateful soul see a profit.

This is not OK. It's no better than having Al Capone in the White House, mowing people down with machine guns, taking hush money, screwing prostitutes and contractors, bribing small business, etc, and you, a deplorable supporter, get a kickback. Never-mind your kickback comes from con men, you're happy. NOT OK!!! It's illegal, unethical, disgusting, and just plain mean and hateful.

by Anonymousreply 284May 17, 2018 9:08 PM

R273 and others. "No Mike Pence. Trump is horrible but we're so fucked because Pence is just as bad."

Pence is awful, but not even close to being as bad as Trump. Pence won't get us into war for one thing. We have a much better chance of surviving until 2020 with Pence in office than we would with Trump. And Pence would never win re-election, (unless Putin has his hand in it, of course). Trump actually could, as ridiculous as it seems. Assuming he hasn't resigned by then.

Also, we can much easily undo any damage Pence might cause. Not so much Trump, (again, nuclear fallout). Pence is very weak and truly poses little thread. It's WHY Trump ultimately chose him as his running mate.

by Anonymousreply 285May 17, 2018 9:09 PM

by Anonymousreply 288May 17, 2018 9:28 PM

If circumstances occurred making Pence POTUS, he'd be a lame duck just serving the term until the 2020 election. And despite his religious beliefs, he'd never get any gay or anti-abortion legislation passed. I mean, not never, but it's extremely unlikely.

by Anonymousreply 289May 17, 2018 9:32 PM

Pence is going down with the rest of them

by Anonymousreply 290May 17, 2018 9:35 PM

Because we are in such an extreme situation like has never been before, I'm starting to think it will be an all or nothing scenario. If Mueller fully succeeds and we are able to actually bring Trump down, I think everybody will go down with him, (possibly including Pence). But if not, they'll all get away with it.

by Anonymousreply 291May 17, 2018 9:40 PM

Pence can’t do any more damage than Trump is already doing anyway. Trump has let the religious right dictate his judicial appointments and a number of other positions and policies as well. The judiciary is fucked for the next several decades as it is.

Pence would do the same, but not much worse.

by Anonymousreply 292May 17, 2018 9:40 PM

New York Times acknowledges it buried the lead in pre-election Russia-Trump story

The upside of the New York Times’ aggressive coverage of the FBI investigation into Russian election meddling is that the American public is learning more and more about recent history. The downside is that the newspaper keeps bumping into its archives.

In a massive article Wednesday on the FBI’s 2016 snooping into the possible nexus between Russians and the Trump presidential campaign, reporters Matt Apuzzo, Adam Goldman and Nicholas Fandos include these two paragraphs:

In late October, in response to questions from The Times, law enforcement officials acknowledged the investigation but urged restraint. They said they had scrutinized some of Mr. Trump’s advisers but had found no proof of any involvement with Russian hacking. The resulting article, on Oct. 31, reflected that caution and said that agents had uncovered no “conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government.”

The key fact of the article — that the F.B.I. had opened a broad investigation into possible links between the Russian government and the Trump campaign — was published in the 10th paragraph.

That’s one heck of a concession: We buried the lead! In their book “Russian Roulette,” authors Michael Isikoff and David Corn report that editors at the New York Times “cast the absence of a conclusion as the article’s central theme rather than the fact of the investigation itself,” contrary to the wishes of the reporters.

The article in question was published on Oct. 31, 2016, and it has received a great deal of hindsight-aided scrutiny for the role it may have played in easing voters’ concerns about ties between Donald Trump and Russia. Under the bylines of Eric Lichtblau and Steven Lee Myers, the story, headlined “Investigating Donald Trump, F.B.I. Sees No Clear Link to Russia,” hit the public sphere just as other outlets — Slate and Mother Jones — published reports that began poking at the outlines of possible collusion. Following the election, then-New York Times Public Editor Liz Spayd knocked the newspaper for proceeding too timidly.

In late December, the New York Times published a scoop reporting that the FBI probe launched in July 2016 and that its existence was a secret even within law enforcement. It raised the question: How could the New York Times have reached any conclusions about such a closely held effort? New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet told the Erik Wemple Blog at the time, “It is fair to say we know a lot more now about what the government knew about Russian meddling than we did before the election. We would have cast that story differently but it was never meant to give the Trump campaign a clean bill of health. It reflected the FBI’s skepticism, which was made public after the campaign. And which was all we could report at that moment. By the way, the question of whether there was collusion remains the subject of the investigation.”

In April, fired FBI director James B. Comey’s book tour provided yet another opportunity to revisit the In respo

Maybe the 2 new women coming forward are the 2 girls who accused Trump of rape in 2016. Maybe they decided to refile the cases with Avenatti. According to Lisa Bloom, the attorney of one of the girls, she filed but the day she was to have appeared in court, her client backed out. The client said she and her family had received death threats if she were to pursue the charges against Trump. Hmm, sound familiar Michael Cohen. Maybe this isn't the latest women to contact MA, but he said things are about to very ugly. And since we know he "raw dogs" who knows what story these girls might have- apparently they had to dress up as maids. Oh yeah. This happened with the assistance of his then best friend Jeffrey Epstein. Not going to guarantee this will turn the hardest core base against him or even if this is what Avenatti might reveal, but yeah. I think even most decent Repubs would find such behavior despicable. It's one thing to do it to a porn star but quite another to rape and threaten a 12 year old! If you don't know about this: Google did Trump rape a 12 year old. Easy peesy. But gag worthy. Not saying it's true.

by Anonymousreply 343May 19, 2018 3:47 AM

by Anonymousreply 346May 19, 2018 3:54 AM

Huff. Post had an article about this. The woman is anonymous aka Katie Johnson and there are 2 witnesses. They didn't cover the story. No media did. Details too shaky but not unlikely. And yes, Dershowitz definitely attended parties. Why do you think he has gone so batshit crazy like Ghouliani in defense of Trump. Neither of those old pervs makes a nickels worth of sense. Trump has some compramat on those 2 comrades. If the details of this come out it will be explosive. It's not just Trump, Dershowitz, or Ghouliani. A lot more compromised by this or by affairs or by Russians. Ugly doesn't begin to describe it. Pure conjecture from following lots of clues and evidence.over the years.

by Anonymousreply 347May 19, 2018 4:09 AM

About Melania. Maybe it was a suicide attempt. But I'm wondering if Drump threatened her physically, either of violence by himself, or by a proxy. Maybe she feels safer in Walter Reed than at home with her parents, or in the White House. She might be afraid to be away from her security detail and close to her husband when he is so unstable and angry. I've always wondered what the Secret Service is supposed to do if a person they are protecting commits a crime, like an assault, in front of them.

by Anonymousreply 348May 19, 2018 4:37 AM

She went in for some maintenance work (plastic surgery)......youll see......shell look refreshed and rested the next time we see her.

by Anonymousreply 349May 19, 2018 4:41 AM

R348 Why would Mel harm herself? She's set for life when the grandpa croaks. Her best revenge is to outlive that bastard. Now Trump being violent with her is way more likely.

by Anonymousreply 350May 19, 2018 4:45 AM

R348, Having your husband cheat on you, for a women, is really humiliating no matter how vile he may be. She's from a very different society, and while most people would look at it like you and I do there's no telling what she may really feel.

by Anonymousreply 351May 19, 2018 5:10 AM

by Anonymousreply 353May 19, 2018 7:18 AM

R348, R350. No way would Melania attempt suicide. She's devoted to Barron. I think she feels her job is to protect him at any cost, and sometimes that means acting like a supportive spouse.

Yeah, she's humiliated on a regular basis, but I'm sure she long ago developed tools to grit her teeth and work her way through it.

I'm truly no fan of Melania. Many feel sympathy for her. I don't. She made her choice and she's sticking by it. But I suspect she has a lot more inner strength and many would suspect.

by Anonymousreply 354May 19, 2018 7:35 AM

by Anonymousreply 361May 19, 2018 1:01 PM

How long has Melania been in the hospital now anyway? Is it longer than the predicted five days?

Unless she comes out of there with porn star boobs or huge sunglasses covering the plastic surgery scars, I’m guessing either he beat her or she’s really sick.

And why say kidney problems of all things? That’s kind of specific and unusual, they could have just said female troubles and nobody would have thought much of it.

Either way, if something’s really wrong with her she must be scared shitless about what happens to Barron. Trump has more rights over him than her parents, and all the stepkids are frightening psychos.

I guess he could go to boarding school, but he’s a mama’s boy and if he’s in the autism spectrum, that would be really hard for him and he’d need support afterwards. Her parents aren't going to live forever. He’s really alone in the world if she goes. Trump won’t have anything to do with him if Melania isn’t there to push it on him.

by Anonymousreply 362May 19, 2018 2:14 PM

God I hope she comes out of the hospital with porn star boobs. That would be HILARIOUS. And then Trump will deny she had anything done.

by Anonymousreply 363May 19, 2018 2:18 PM

She already has them.

by Anonymousreply 364May 19, 2018 2:23 PM

R359, allegedly that happened with Bill and Hillary during the Monica Lewinsky thing.

I think one time they heard a lamp crash and knocked on the door, or came in, but Bill sent them way. And one time he had a bruised or reddened eye in their bedroom at night, when they heard fighting and came in. They agonized about what to do but apparently if Bill didn’t tell them to do something, they didn’t do it. Of course that was years ago when domestic violence was thought to be more private, but I can’t imagine Melania asking the Secret Service to save her if she was being beaten, can you? She’s too introverted and would probably be fearful of what he would do next time they were alone.

Now if only someone would put the beat down on Trump.

by Anonymousreply 423May 20, 2018 4:55 PM

Alex WItt the weekend anchor during the day at MSNBC just had Sam Nunberg on for an interview. During the interview Sam Nunberg apparently "outed" the name of the informant that was embedded in the Trump campaign. After he said the name they came back to Alex and she looked he had just said the "F" or "C" word to her; totally aghast. She then admonished him for mentioning the name, saying it was not their policy to do so.

Did anybody else see this same segment and if they did, what did they think?

by Anonymousreply 424May 20, 2018 5:08 PM

Nunberg is still unmediated, I see.

by Anonymousreply 425May 20, 2018 5:13 PM

R424, why would you write all of that and not say the name?

by Anonymousreply 426May 20, 2018 5:14 PM

BTW. I'm personally not mentioning the name I heard because I if Nunberg was right I don't want it be used as ammunition in any way by the anti-Mueller Trumpites.

But I heard it and know it, and if you saw the segment, you know it now too.

by Anonymousreply 427May 20, 2018 5:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 431May 20, 2018 5:25 PM

Alright, I've seen the name mentioned elsewhere in the news so I guess it's ok to post it. I have no idea why Alex Witt had such a problem with it being mentioned by Nunberg except may it hasn't been individually verified by NBC news or something, in any case here it is:

Stefen Halper

And r430, go fuck yourself.

by Anonymousreply 432May 20, 2018 5:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 437May 20, 2018 5:36 PM

by Anonymousreply 438May 20, 2018 5:37 PM

Trump is having a meltdown today on twitter, I wonder what is coming around the corner for him to not play golf and do nothing like he usually does. Nunberg was told to out that informant, too. Here he is blaming shit yet again on Obama and Hillary:

R442, I'd really like it if they would start turning off mics when guests merely scream over everyone else without allowing others to speak.

by Anonymousreply 445May 20, 2018 6:11 PM

R437. I was watching Alex Witt and like you, I was pissed that they even had had koo koo Sam Nunberg, who is destined to accidentally fall into a vat of grease and drown, on MSNBC after his last drunken tirade. He acted as nervous as a whore in church. He is doing what someone (Stone and Trump) are telling him to do). He has like one functioning brain cell and is infected with syphillis. I didn't catch the informants name and I hadn't seen it anywhere. He could be in some legal trouble for revealing it on TV. Hope they put his nuts in a tighter vise than they already are. Roger Stone is scum. I loved Jonathon Alter for bitch slapping little Miss Unchristian fundie right wing moron Carrie. Why does MSNBC have these kind of people on? They add nothing to the dialogue except for muddying the water even more to Trumps advantage. Leave this ilk on Fox News. The MSM needs to get a clue.

"I hereby demand." I'm surprised he doesn't add, "off with their heads."

by Anonymousreply 451May 20, 2018 6:26 PM

R449 Trump will say he was the victim of Deep State spying, but he's been spinning that yarn for weeks now, and no one but the lost cause deplorables fall for that victim act. However, this informant is only good if he brought solid evidence of wrong doing to the investigation. Otherwise, his outing is just a distraction in this whole process.

by Anonymousreply 452May 20, 2018 6:26 PM

Trump will fire Risenstein - possibly tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 453May 20, 2018 6:28 PM

*Rosenstein!

by Anonymousreply 454May 20, 2018 6:28 PM
The FBI had an informant planted in the T campaign?

Not really in the campaign; he just met with some members of the campaign in order to help assess whether a foreign power might have infiltrated the campaign, or even be acting in conspiracy with it or in control of it.
That tells me that they must have suspected something already.

That's been widely known. Republicans have been trying desperately to pretend that this all began with the Steele dossier but that came along months after the FBI and other security agencies were aware of these issues.

What Trump and his sycophants are doing is pretending that this was a major abuse of power by the Obama administration ("worse than Watergate!!!") when the reality is that this was a standard counter-intelligence investigation brought about by information received. And they are using this pretense of this major abuse of power to try to discredit the investigation, shut it down, and stifle all such investigations and dissent, in the Justice Department, the FBI, and other intelligence agencies.

These are the actions of an authoritarian government, not the actions of someone concerned with the rule of law.

by Anonymousreply 455May 20, 2018 6:29 PM

R455: Will he (Trump) be successful?

by Anonymousreply 456May 20, 2018 6:31 PM

Nobody knows, r456. As long as Congress remains in Republican hands, there is little that Democrats can do. We need at least the House back this year.

by Anonymousreply 457May 20, 2018 6:40 PM

R456 I don't think so. The investigation has a life of its own. Remember it started because Trump fired Comey. Firing more people won't stop it but would rather increase the call for further investigation. The pivotal point is the mid-term election. Up to now, the investigation has been rather benign and even timid towards Trump, but it can turn aggressive and hostile if the House falls to the Dems. Even if they can't successfully impeach him, they can torpedo his re-election attempt.

by Anonymousreply 458May 20, 2018 6:41 PM

And they can do a real investigation instead of that bullshit that Nunes tried to pull.

2. There is a strong possibility that there will be indictments tomorrow or in the next few days.......Trumps meltdown, Roger Stones meltdown, etc......Trump can demand anything he wants....but he better be careful of what he wishes for.....they could intentionally release some pretty damning evidence which will backfire in his face.

The Trump tweet that Wittes is discussing looks crafted, like the product of a WH consensus—not just DJT thumb-fumbling away on the john. They mean business. They think that exploiting this "informant" business is their surest inroad to stop the whole investigation.

by Anonymousreply 469May 20, 2018 7:53 PM

It's also very telling that the WH sees the FBI informant not as a US agent ensuring that foreign nationals don't corrupt the Trump campaign, but as an attack on Trump. They're implicitly admitting that his campaign sought assistance from foreigners (Russian, Qatari, etc.).

by Anonymousreply 470May 20, 2018 7:58 PM

HA!!!! I truly believe Mueller and his team understand how unpredictable and dangerous Trump & Co. are. Good will triumph over evil.

Having said that, I cannot emphasize my angst over this. I’ve been in this state for a year and a half. This is like watching a murder in slow motion. You can feel every single twist and turn, it is a horror show. Think of your worst nightmare ever — that’s what this feels like.

Bill Maher had a great closing on Friday. He basically said Trump will NOT be interviewed, that SCOTUS won’t make him, and even if they do, he’ll just flip the bird — and then what do we do? I do have some faith in our justice system, but the number one priority can ONLY be winning elections. We have to squash them at the ballot box like the cockroaches they are.

by Anonymousreply 471May 20, 2018 8:01 PM

R470 That is the Trump tactic. Admitting to crimes bit by bit and then have his cronies yell really loud it's not illegal. LOL The reality warp defense.

by Anonymousreply 472May 20, 2018 8:02 PM

R471 I have the same angst, given how Trump has been allowed to get away with things Obama never would have. I mean, the same people who went so nuts over Clinton's fucking emails have shrugged off his horrible behaviour. It's this stubbornness and refusal to see him for what he is that concerns me.

However, I have a lot of faith in Mueller. And Trump's unhinged behaviour suggests he knows he's got a big storm coming.

by Anonymousreply 473May 20, 2018 8:06 PM

Bill Maher is an ass. When Trumps criminal /treasonous amoral dealings are revealed - and they will be from the money laundering to the numerous women to abortions paid for to illegal dealings with foreign entities. Dear god. Never has the corruption or outright criminality been this deep. There will be no a Trump running for reelection. The Republicans will be lucky if they even have a GOP to cobble together. Why don't some people get this is about so much more than 1 Stormy Daniels and. Little Russian " collusion". Duh. As Seth A. Says , when all Is said and done, this will span at least 6 countries and so much more. And guess what? Mueller has an expert crack team and Trump had Guliani. Lol. Oh plus Trump and Guliani are up against not just Mueller, not just the SDNY but my hero Michael Avanatti. Basta

by Anonymousreply 474May 20, 2018 8:23 PM

I agree that Bill Maher is an ass, but at least WYSIWYG with him. And I agree with him that Trump will continue to do things that are “unprecedented” because he simple does NOT give a shit. He has no shame.

by Anonymousreply 475May 20, 2018 8:27 PM

did Roger Stone's two cross eyes finally melt into one? They only had about 10 millimeters to go.

by Anonymousreply 476May 20, 2018 8:39 PM

Guiliani’s announced that Mueller’s Investigation would be over by 1st of September. Why would anyone believe anything Giuliani has to say? NYT is reporting it as news with Giuliani as the source. Isn’t the headline more “Another Lame Ass Thing Guiliani Said”?

by Anonymousreply 477May 20, 2018 9:27 PM

I watched Maher's show, and I agree that he may have a point. May. A lot will depend on the indictments that Mueller issues and the report that he gives to Rosenstein that could form the basis for articles of impeachment. Maher claims that we will never get to the needed 67 votes in the Senate. He could be right -- but we just don't know. If the evidence is so solid and incontrovertible, then there might be enough Rethuglican Senators who will do the right thing and remove him from office, thus ridding the world of this menace who is pretending to the President.

If they refuse to, well then, what we sow is what we reap.

by Anonymousreply 478May 20, 2018 9:52 PM

R477, we're supposed to take Guiliani very seriously because he is a very serious person. America's mayor, don't you know? So nevermind that he told us it would be over in two weeks about 3 weeks ago, we need to take very seriously that he says it will be over by September. And of course the NYT has to report it as serious news, because they only do serious journamalism, they would never act as a mouthpiece for corrupt conservatives.

by Anonymousreply 479May 20, 2018 9:56 PM

r477 September, really Giuliani... this man has no brain cells left.

by Anonymousreply 480May 20, 2018 9:56 PM

This new stuff about an Obame spy = desperation

by Anonymousreply 481May 20, 2018 10:27 PM

Yes, the Ghouliani makes shit up. And he says it with this air of confidence, and such a dismissive tone -- as if to say, "of course I know what I'm talking about; do you know who I am?" Of course, he is consistently wrong. I want someone to challenge this fool on the September 1 date and ask him what happened to the "two weeks and its done" nonsense? He's a senile old fool.

by Anonymousreply 482May 20, 2018 10:39 PM
I think trump will go down for money laundering, skimming, dirty deals, and Foreign pay for play deals not election fraud even though we all know he did it.

I agree, but I think it is because the real crime is treason. He along with most of his cabal are enemy agents and they worked to steal the election, throwing a few votes to Stein hither and yon in the precincts that counted. I think Mueller has actually been tasked with getting us out of this mess without the full truth coming out because it would be too damaging to the Republic, which is a shame since the penalty for treason is death

by Anonymousreply 483May 21, 2018 12:12 AM

This is part of a strategy to condition the public to get fed up with the investigation and begin wondering when it'll end--or think that it was already supposed to end. That this is dragging on, that it's longer than it's supposed to be. They'd kind of begun this (remember when the investigation was supposed to be over by Christmas?) but Giuliani's gone all in on this.

by Anonymousreply 484May 21, 2018 12:22 AM

Ymy problem with Bill Maher and most of the press is they don't really do any real investigative journalism. We have no Woodward or Bernstein. We have sycophants who toady around to maintain WH access. I honestly don't think the majority of the talking heads have the depth of knowledge that real investigative people have like Seth Abramson and even some posters here who follow scrap of evidence reported and put it all together. It's complicated. So many bad people involved. Most of Trumps cabinet picks. Many Republicans in Congress. All of Trumps family, his personal lawyer, friends, business associates. Big times corporations like AT&T, Novartis. Saudis and Russians and Ukrainians. Porn stars and Playboy playmates and ex maids. Bill Moyers also has a nice timeline but this thing is complex. It's mind boggling. But criminal and treasonous and stomach turning and nightmarish and unbelievable- yes. That's why I think Trump has to be taken down. Or he will resign. Yes, even him who has no shame.

by Anonymousreply 485May 21, 2018 12:56 AM

Ghouliani said "it COULD end in Spetember. LOL! It COULD rain tomorrow. Fuck Rudy and all the media whores who chase after him andgive him any air time. No one cares about that fuking clown. I hate seeing him appearing on the news shows. Between his bullshit lies and video clip of Trump rallies and speeches it feels like 2016 all over again and I am definitely suffering from PTSD. Enough. I want some fucking Congressman to draw up a bill to start impeachment proceeding and then get a petition to discharge the bill since we know Ryan will attempt to block it. But all we need is for 23 Republicans to join the Dems and fore it to the floor for a vote. Rotten fuckers.

How is it that “hereby demanding” is different from “officially demanding”? I hereby demand an answer, DataLounge. Tomorrow I will make it official.

by Anonymousreply 487May 21, 2018 1:07 AM

FWIW I read that if Mueller was to conclude the investigation into obstruction- which is what Ghouliani is referencing - he would have to wrap it up in 60 days in order to not interfere with the mid-terms. I think that is BS too. But, I highly doubt Mueller who is cautious and not one to politicize would wait until Sept. to conclude that part of it. Ghouliani is full of shit.

by Anonymousreply 488May 21, 2018 1:09 AM
and most of the press is they don't really do any real investigative journalism. We have no Woodward or Bernstein. We have sycophants who toady around to maintain WH access.

I'm not sure that I entirely agree with that. There are reporters for the NYT and the WaPo, among others, who are breaking stories about this scandal each week. So, I think that they are trying -- a bit too little and a bit too late. My problem is that they all should have been doing this BEFORE the damn election when it would have mattered. Now we have the worst of all possible worlds: he's in office and the burden has shifted to Mueller and the criminal justice system to bring to light all the dirty deeds Trump and Rethugs undertook to subvert democracy and steal the election with the help from foreign interests. Getting his fat ass tossed out of office is a significantly more difficult task than the voting public not allowing him to get there in the first place.

Had the press done its job and stopped fixating on Hillary's emails they might have been able to cover Trump in a meaningful way. Instead, the same journalists, commentators, and news people who now deride him for being a moron gave his every utterance the coverage he craved and needed.

No word on when the investigation into collusion, money laundering, campaign fraud, treason et al, would be finished. But I assume some time around when Trump hangs from his neck until he is dead, or shortly thereafter.

by Anonymousreply 495May 21, 2018 1:50 AM

A lot of whats happening now, we were told about in detail by people like Rachel Maddow.....she did in depth reports on the Seychelles, Bank of Cuprus, people like Wilbur Ross, certain russian players like "the fertilizer king", meetings with Russians and Trump throughout the campaign with secret meetings in out of thway airports, etc.......

And I say this now.....TRUMP WILL NEVER TESTIFY UNDER OATH OR MEET WITH MUELLER.......EVER. Its all bullshit.....hes been saying he wants to talk to Mueller FOR ALMOST A YEAR. He has absolutely no intention of speaking to Mueller.....its all part of the manipulation techniques he uses for his base so they think hes trying to cooperate with Mueller, but Mueller doesnt want to be fair about it.
The “deep state” is in a deep state of desperation. With little time left before the Justice Department inspector general’s report becomes public, and with special counsel Robert Mueller having failed to bring down Donald Trump after a year of trying, they know a reckoning is coming.
At this point, there is little doubt that the highest echelons of the FBI and the Justice Department broke their own rules to end the Hillary Clinton “matter,” but we can expect the inspector general to document what was done or, more pointedly, not done. It is hard to see how a year-long investigation of this won’t come down hard on former FBI Director James Comey and perhaps even former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who definitely wasn’t playing mahjong in a secret “no aides allowed” meeting with former President Clinton on a Phoenix airport tarmac.
With this report on the way and congressional investigators beginning to zero in on the lack of hard, verified evidence for starting the Trump probe, current and former intelligence and Justice Department officials are dumping everything they can think of to save their reputations.

by Anonymousreply 506May 21, 2018 2:46 AM
and congressional investigators beginning to zero in on the lack of hard, verified evidence for starting the Trump probe,

That is such unbelievable bullshit. Trump tried to get Comey to end the investigation into "he's a good guy" Flynn. Comey declined to entertain that offer. Trump then fired Comey and went on national television to proclaim that he fired Comey to dispense with the Russia investigation, which he dismissed as a charade and farce. Flynn was subsequently charged with crimes and pled guilty.

That sounds like obstruction of justice.

There is ample evidence -- backed up the Senate Intelligence Committee report -- of Russia's interference in the 2016 election.

Thus, there is nothing illegitimate about Mueller's authority to investigate these matters.

by Anonymousreply 507May 21, 2018 2:49 AM

by Anonymousreply 512May 21, 2018 3:25 AM
I take this to mean Bill's actions may be more legally tenuous then earlier thought.

Well, yeah, but that's because you're pretty clearly a moron and/or a troll. As for Penn, that op-ed was laughable in its creativity and its lack of actual data. And parts of it were just stupid, like:
Perhaps the murkiest event in the timeline is Rod Rosenstein’s appointment of a special counsel after he personally recommended Comey’s firing in blistering terms.

Rosenstein was told by Sessions and Trump to write that memo; he didn't do it to "personally recommend" Comey's firing. There was no "murkiness" in that timeline.

Even worse is the pretense that Mueller's team has "found nothing," despite the indictments, plea bargains, and massive quantities of data that have emerged and continue to emerge. Mueller has moved faster and obtained more actual results than any equivalent investigation of the past few decades. Penn had to ignore all of that to write that drivel.

Sorry, but if this is the best you can do, you really need to go back to the drawing board and try again.

Bill had already cemented a relationship with George HW Bush and was hooked up with The Carlyle Group. Penn was like a parasite looking for a host.

by Anonymousreply 523May 21, 2018 12:14 PM

By insisting on making the September 1st deadline important, Giuliani and Trump are deliberately setting up a phony timeline they can then use to justify firing Rosenstein and Mueller. They are fixing that date in the minds of their base and in the broader public when that is not what is really going on. Mueller's Obstruction case report COULD be finished by September. It's not news they said as much a few months ago. I hate these rotten, dishonest, manipulated fuckers so much that if I ever ran into Giuliani on the street I would have to resist a strong impulse to slap him viciously in the face!

by Anonymousreply 524May 21, 2018 12:26 PM

How long did the Whitewater Investigation last again?

by Anonymousreply 525May 21, 2018 1:57 PM

"Length of Major Presidential Investigations By Number of Days"

Note that this does not include Benghazi, which wasn't a "presidential investigation," [italic]per se[/italic], since it was focused on Clinton rather than Obama. That one took four years from start to finish, and it included 8 Congressional investigations. Mueller is moving incredibly rapidly compared to the prior standards for such investigations.

Republican Rick Wilson:

You know what the Trump fluffers are ignoring, yes? They don't want to ask the first causes question, and it's pretty clear why. The origins of so, so, so many counterintelligence operations start with SIGINT. This wasn't some political hack job. This was a rising wave of information reaching various points in the IC and trickling UP the chain, not some top-down "Get Trump" operation.

This wasn't the ripshit "We gots us a dossier, let's RIDE, cowboys!" fantasy being sold by the Trump right media and Gentry Breitbart.

When you, your family, your private attorney, your most senior (and junior) campaign staff, business partners, and associates are ass-deep in contacts with people tied to Russian organized crime, Russian intel, and Russian oligarchs (but I repeat myself), it's going to show up.

As we've discussed, the FBI, DOC, IC, and FISA court ain't playing beanbag. They don't just say, "WHOA, Trump's a flaming dickbag! Let's subvert our oath and violate the law to screw him!" The Fox crowd uses the asymmetry of what the FBI/DOJ/OSC is forbidden to reveal (yet) to draw this lurid, stupid portrait for an evil Deep State conspiracy directed by Kenyan Muslim Sleeper Agent Obummer and Evil Sorceress Hillary the Child Cannibal for the credulous, the slow, and the wilfully mendacious who know better.

With all the contacts, associations, meetings, business deals, money, and hard intel that the Russians were attacking our election that *caused* the attention the Trump, if you think the system should have sat quietly and done nothing, allow me to propose a gedankenexperiment. Substitute "Trump" for "Clinton" and "Russian" for "Muslim" (or "Chinese") and tell me you wouldn't want the FBI to *do it's damn job*

I've said this from the very, very start. The IC has a royal flush, or damn near it. The fact that you haven't seen it yet is evidence of discipline, not absence. All this show, and bluster, and hair-tearing flim-flam from Team Trump is their usual disservice to the rule of law.

Steady on.

by Anonymousreply 534May 21, 2018 2:35 PM

It is doubtful someone from upper DOJ or the Mueller investigation gave a firm target date of Sept. 1 to finish the obstruction inquiries and deliver a report. As someone said earlier, this is a tactic to pander to the base and GOP Congressional allies, and flawed grounds to pursue firings by DJT.

Isn't there a few bars in NYC that cater specifically to much older drag queen/cross-dressing clientele? Rudy needs to retire from whatever, and take his ass to one of those bars to spread his bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 535May 21, 2018 2:53 PM

At Haspel's swearing in ceremony, Trump just praised one attendee: Devin Nunes.

Disgusting and inappropriate.

by Anonymousreply 536May 21, 2018 3:01 PM

Quoting:
If there’s a dark conspiracy theory circulating about Deep State efforts to undermine Donald Trump, it’s a safe bet that it started with Rep. Devin Nunes, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee.
That seems to be the case with the purported scandal du jour: that the FBI planted an informant in the Trump campaign in order to gain information about its possible ties to Russia. Such a move, Trump allies argue, would render the Mueller investigation into Russia’s 2016 election interference illegitimate.

...
As with previous Nunes-driven controversies, this one started weeks ago with the California Republican’s efforts to disclose classified intelligence information, festered in the media fever swamps, and then percolated up to the president, who on Friday said it may be the “all time biggest political scandal!”

Nunes needs to go. Now.

If I were a CIA operative, you know, an agent? I'd ceate some scandalous public legal problem to get Rudy to shut his fucking mouth and tend to his own business. I'm talking about avideo of Rudy beating some woman, or evidence of him accepting bribes and kickbacks. Rudy is dirty. He has to have some serious skeletons hiding in his closet.

by Anonymousreply 542May 21, 2018 3:25 PM

I'd even settle for having him on tape explaining to friends why he believes Trump is guilty as hell and probably ought to be hot for treason. If they can get Rudy, now that would be beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 543May 21, 2018 3:26 PM

It looks as if the DJT-Kushner group is connected to an international crime syndicate inclusive of a myriad of oligarchs and government operatives, particularly with Russia.

Is Devin Nunes going to keep all this from being disclosed? This obstructionist needs to be thoroughly invested by the Mueller team pronto. Maybe they have been following his trail and contacts. $$$$ plays into this somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 544May 21, 2018 5:06 PM

Dems shouldn't angst over every rant of this fool in the WH. Even if he fires people and try to brainwash the deplorables, he can't cover up all his crimes with so much of the evidence already in plain sight. Stay focused on winning the House. Once in charge, they can bust everything open on their own terms.

by Anonymousreply 545May 21, 2018 5:14 PM

r545, and if Nancy P. becomes speaker of the House again(and she fully intends to) I'm sure she won't say "impeachment is OFF the table" again, right?

by Anonymousreply 559May 21, 2018 8:19 PM

If the Dems had any balls at all....which they dont, when they retake the House, they would make Hillary Spreaker of the House (yes, they could do that)...and then go for impeachment blood.

by Anonymousreply 560May 21, 2018 8:23 PM

by Anonymousreply 565May 21, 2018 8:31 PM

Nancy did not say it was off the table this time. She was very clear. She said Impeachment is a serious Constitutional thing, and it must be Bi Partisan. Just remember. Pelosi is powerful. She has history with a lot of people. She knows exactly how it all works. Why do you think the GOP hates her?? LOL!

by Anonymousreply 566May 21, 2018 8:32 PM

Jim Acosta just tweeted that Rosenstein and Wray have left the White House after their meeting with Trump. I guess we’ll know soon what that was about.

by Anonymousreply 567May 21, 2018 8:51 PM

Seriously there aren't enough decent Republicans in the Senate who would vote to impeach this dangerous treasonous POS?

by Anonymousreply 568May 21, 2018 8:52 PM

Keep your eyes on RT and Sputnik; I’m sure they’ll be the first to let us know what went down in the Trump/Wray/Rosenstein meeting.

by Anonymousreply 569May 21, 2018 9:01 PM

It's the House that votes to impeach, R568, not the Senate. The Senate conducts the trial. And no, not with the information we have now. I'd be surprised to find a single one willing to impeach or convict in either House of Congress.

by Anonymousreply 570May 21, 2018 9:19 PM

That's why Dems have to take back the House in this fall's election.

But then we'll have Nancy Pelosi has House speaker again and .....oh brother

Nevermind.

John Feeley, Trump's Ambassador to Panama, who quit in March because "My values were not [Trump's] values, interviewed in this week's New Yorker:

When I asked Feeley whether he thought Trump was a traitor, he looked startled and turned away. Staring out at the river, he replied, “I don’t know. I couldn’t talk about that.”

“You’re a private citizen now.”

“Yeah, but I still wouldn’t—there are still things. I wouldn’t comment on it.” Feeley wouldn’t look at me.

“Are you worried that he is?” I asked.

“You mean, like, ‘Manchurian Candidate’ shit?”

Finally, Feeley ventured an answer. Trump was “clearly a flawed man, much more flawed than other Presidents I’ve served,” he said. “The world is an unstable and complex enough place that we, and the U.S. President, should not be the cause of more chaos. But I would not comment on traitor. Traitor’s a big thing.”

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are older, establishment, corporate Democrats, and certainly tied to special interests as near all in Congress. Their comments on this saga has always been measured. I am not sure about their low-key strategies; but maybe it will work. There things they are not telling us.

by Anonymousreply 573May 21, 2018 9:57 PM

Guests on Ari Melber right now are saying that Trump's latest move is an abuse of power and would almost certainly get him impeached if we actually had a congress willing to do its job.

by Anonymousreply 574May 21, 2018 10:11 PM

The Supreme Court screwed labor rights today, a reminder why right wingers are willing to have a criminal in the white house. Right wing Supreme Court, a danger for decades to come.

by Anonymousreply 575May 21, 2018 11:11 PM

r575....dont blame the SC...they specifically said, just like with Citizens United, that Congress CAN change the law.....the problem is getting Congress to do it instead of just talking about it.

I'd like to get on CNN or put an opinion piece in the NY Times or The Washington Post. What can we the people do to fight this kleptocrat and thief? I'll March locally if he fires Mueller, I've written letters to my lame brain Kansas congressman And Senator Pat Roberts - what a joke. I'm ready to ballistic and do something more. by Anonymousreply 578May 22, 2018 1:03 AM

R594, a Congress doing its job would have impeached Trump almost immediately.

by Anonymousreply 579May 22, 2018 1:16 AM

Does anyone remember the talk about how Hillary's emails got on that computer? I remember there was a theory that while crazy, sort of made sense.

If I remember correctly the claim was that they were planted on to his computer via a Trojan with the exact intentions of doing what ended up happening. The theory painted a picture that everything with Drumpf had been in the works for a long time.

Huma swears that she never used Weiner's laptop for work purposes... and that makes sense. How many people use their spouse's computer for work purposes?

by Anonymousreply 580May 22, 2018 1:25 AM

I said right from the beginning that the timing of confiscating Weiner's laptop was dodgy. He was under criminal investigation for years for his sex scandal - texting case.

by Anonymousreply 581May 22, 2018 1:28 AM

Next thread?

by Anonymousreply 582May 22, 2018 1:36 AM

I also remember that the other part of the theory was that the girl he was sexting wasn't really doing it of her own accord. I can't remember if they said the girl didn't exist or that she was being coached on what to say because whoever it was kept making references to things that no teenage girl would likely know or even search for.

by Anonymousreply 583May 22, 2018 1:37 AM

Yes, R582. It'll be coming shortly.

by Anonymousreply 584May 22, 2018 1:38 AM

Nunes is a stooge. He would like Trump's ass if requested. Same with Stephen Miller. Same with Giuilania.

The DHS (homeland) is not prepared for the gunfire anticipated this summer, nor is EPA keeping any eye on Hawaii.

These tactics of creating chaos are Russian playbook. They won't give up and we are entering the era of the Resistance

by Anonymousreply 585May 22, 2018 1:52 AM

Supposedly some Russian,,,,i think his name is Nikulin, a Putin ally,,,,,hacked into Weiners computer to plant the "undiscovered" Hillary emails....and in doing so, when his computer was confiscated for sexting with a minor....which he did do.....they "discovered" the emails. They supposedly used some guy from North Carolina for the hacking.

by Anonymousreply 586May 22, 2018 1:54 AM

by Anonymousreply 589May 22, 2018 2:04 AM

R589 but tell us what or why you are thinking these shootings are going to happen. Is this part of Trumps distraction or his base getting fired up🔫

by Anonymousreply 590May 22, 2018 3:10 AM

It is more likely that Huma borrowed Weiner's laptop, which had a security clearance, to read mail from Hillary and inadvertently downloaded the emails to read later. An accidental bulk download.

by Anonymousreply 591May 22, 2018 3:25 AM

I don't buy it, R591. Why would she need to borrow his laptop?

by Anonymousreply 592May 22, 2018 3:32 AM

It was established that the Weiner computer was hacked. And no, I'm not going to find a fucking link. I am fucking sick and tired of Trump and his fake accusations and his tantrums. That fucker insisted Obama wiretapped him at Trump Tower. Now he is insisting that the Obama administration used the FBI to spy on him for political purposes during the 2016 election campaign and he is demanding they investigate themselves. He has also gained access t classified information from the FBI that will now be reviewed by John Kelly and "Members of Congress." It was described as top secret and highly classified. Pompeo and the new CIA lady will also be part of the review. This is unprecedented and frankly it is illegal for anyone under investigation to demand access to that kind of material while the investigation is active and charges have not yet been filed. Congress is refusing to do their job. I'm also sick and tired of the pundits and talking heads to keep drawing parallels with Nixon and Watergate. The HUGE difference is that we had a Congress and we had a court system that had not been bought off and compromised. They put country first.

by Anonymousreply 593May 22, 2018 3:39 AM

This is going to bite him in the ass....now that the guy is outed, theres nothing to prevent him from talking.....he had to have uncovered something that justified the FBI taking the investigation to the next level....and it wont be good for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 594May 22, 2018 3:44 AM

^^^^and it will prove the guy didnt "infiltrate" his campaign like he claimed.^^^^^

by Anonymousreply 595May 22, 2018 3:47 AM

R594 R595, I was thinking the same thing. I'm hoping the intel will demonstrate to Kelly and the others who see it, that there was justification to investigate Trump because he continued to deal with foreign actors after he had been warned about them in his intelligence briefing during the campaign. there will be so much evidence through "wire taps" surveillance and computer records as well as human intel, that clearly demonstrate Trump broke the law. And you know once the members of Congress see it, they will leak. They will tell staff and out it goes.
