They were going to form Alden's new working class family. .. Diego soon became involved with Victoria Newman (Heather), but he ended up having a wild fling with Sharon. .. With Vaughan and Case in the roles, the sex scene was HOT, bordering on soft core. And that may have been part of the problem, Vaughan actually had more chemistry with Case than Tom.

And around the same time that Diego was written out, Sharon Case was in very tense contract negotiations. As I recall, she actually exited Y&R for about three months. .. I think Smith basically decided to put the kibosh on the whole Guitterez expansion. Instead, he brought in Brittany's parents, Fred & Anita, and decided to expand the upper-class Hodges family. .. As for Victoria, his plan was to pair her with Michael LaBaldwin. Heather and Chrissy bounced off each other quite well. (She, of course, has experience in that capacity .. lol!) But then that all ended when Heather jumped shipped later that same year. .. The contingency plan was to put Chrissy with Lauren Fenmore (who was only recurring) ... and the rest is history.

I realize no one, including Mal or anyone who succeeds him, is going to take the chance and overhaul the show at this point, but it needs some new energy to revitalize it.

- At this point in time, no one 'gets' why Kyle hates his father so much, and they certainly don't want Jack's parentage undone. Both nonsensical, not to mention stinky .. on the same level of Jill finding out she's not a Foster, and look how that turned out.

- The Devon-Hilary repetitious babymaking blather is just plain boring. .. Dull Devon knows what a bitch Hilary is; he doesn't think she's good enough to be his wife, yet somehow, he's okay with her having his child? Crazy. .. And Hilary, who has all kinds of resources of her own, looks at short, little Cue Ball and thinks these are the genes she wants her kid saddled with? Ridiculous.
