Contrast that with the Jill's paternity storyline that was just completely out of the blue. Liz Foster comes back to town and says, "Hi, good to see you Jill. By the way, you were adopted. Sorry we never told you. Good luck finding your true mother."

Watching the two episodes I watched yesterday, I was positively impressed with a few things.

I think Chancellor Industries used to "the plant" where Liz Foster worked and they were laying off people in the first season. Bill Bell is the one who changed the size of the town and as the show's creator he can do that. But I do have an issue with GC Buzz. There is just something about GC Buzz that just seems so out of place. If it were a gossip blog, like TMZ, owned by Leanna Love I could wrap my head around it.

The one thing that I really have a hard time with is the fact that Jill didn't fight tooth and nail for her heirs, actual Chancellors, to inherit a bigger piece of the Chancellor fortune.

What's stupid at the moment is that Jill has her faux "son" Cane (who's also now her stepson via Colin) running CI. It's rather ill-inducing.

The first part began some time in 1998 and involved Jill finding new information that prompted her to take Kay to court over ownership of the Mausoleum. This development included the oft-mentioned scene of the two bitches coming to blows up in Chancellor attic. Around this same time, Kay was planning a huge gala where she was intent on celebrating "Everything Chancellor." She eagerly wanted Nina to bring PC4 to this event, as she thought it would be the perfect venue to introduce the lad to the legacy he would one day inherit. However, a very wary and protective Nina declined Kay's invite, thinking her son was still too young. When the big party was held, Jill took the opportunity to crash the event and announce her lawsuit over the property. A very public catfight ensued with the two women having to be pulled apart.

By 1999, the lawsuit was eventually settled with the agreement that they'd split the house, as they each feared losing it altogether. Jill soon moved into the Chancellor Estate and hired her own maid named Shirley, who was actually an actress that Jill had hired to drive Kay nuts and vex Esther.

By 2000. it looked like PC4 legacy story was going to start. That's when the character was SORASed to 14-years old, and they hired the talented Penn Badgley to play him. With Nina often going on book tours to promote her novel, Phillip would stay at The Chancellor Mausoleum with Grandma Jill. Phillip would occasionally interact with older teen, Uncle Billy, and seemed to be developing a crush on Billy's then-girlfriend, Brittany Hodges. ..
