How do you italicize and bold text?

How do we bold and italicize text?

by Anonymousreply 2306/22/2016

It's best avoided, especially in OPs because people mess it up and bold or italicize the whole thread list below the post.

But could you tell me, please R1.

by Anonymousreply 204/20/2013

Third section from the end.

Lemme see if I can do it...

If you want to [i]italicize[/i], I think you have to do this [ i ] (but no spaces) right before, and then [ / i ] (no spaces) to end the italics. It might be the same with [b]bolding[/b], but make it [ b ] and [ / b ] to end it.

But I never get the quoting quite right...

by Anonymousreply 404/20/2013

Okay I was wrong. Trying again. (I'm just testing. Ignore me)

How irritating. Why can't they do it the normal way with [b] and [i]?

Hints a plenty HERE:

I believe it has been around since before there was an agreed "normal" way.

[quote]Can you both bold and italicize at the same time?

[bold][italic]bold and italic?? [/italic][/bold]

by Anonymousreply 1910/11/2015

Here is how you do it:

[bold] word [/bold] - without the spaces so it will look like this: [bold]word[/bold]

[italic] word [/italic] - without the spaces so it will look like this: [italic]word[/italic]

by Anonymousreply 2010/11/2015

Oops... okay, so it works even with spaces.
