The only thing I'm reading / hearing from every 'breaking news' source is that his team has been 'in negotiations' with ABC all weekend. Some are speculating that means they're going to keep him and return him to his show, others are saying they will let him out of his contract and he already has deals lined up with cable channels (where he is free to do as he pleases).
SO really 'no news', just speculation.
The only thing they all seem to agree on is that ABC will pay his employees through next week.

R2 They aren't calling it severance since no one has been let go. They are just 'in limbo' at this point, and ABC s keeping them on the payroll- at least until next week. Once / if the show is officially canceled, then ABC will have to deal with severance pay.
