As the scene exploded, he couldn't keep up and he became a relic. I read that he moved to Vegas which will further hasten his obsolescence. People wrongly assume JLaw's career decline was because of Weinstein's cancellation and incarceration. The primary reason her career stalled is because her non-IP films flopped and her quote was and still is $20-25M. Her putting her foot in her mouth didn't help either. They sold her as the next Julia Roberts but with the acting prowess of Meryl Streep. The tripping at award shows, scolding the reporter in the press room at the Golden Globes, claiming she was the first female action star - overtime people didn't buy the girl you'd wanna have a beer with persona.

I wouldn't say, Logan Lerman, is "forgotten." He had the Hunters series with Al Pachino for a couple of years. He's on next season of "Only Murders..." and has been doing press for the indie movie he just did. For years social would lose its mind whenever his girlfriend/soon to be wife would post a picture of him to remind people he existed. He just only seems to work when he feels like it.
The others, not so much. Kwanten got older and does b movies overseas that seem kinda shitty. Pettyfer was an ass and ruined his career. He also pissed off Channing Tatum. Kellan disappeared completely the past couple of years.
[quote]Rosamund Pike. Come back!

She and her husband. Yall haven’t noticed Millenial nostalgia is being cooked into pop culture like crazy lately. Even the youngest millennials were grown adult ten years ago. R98 I think it’s a more simple explanation. She got popular starring in big budget movies that half the populace went to see. She also was very attractive, tall, with some sexy ass legs. She had a self deprecating personality along with a tad of Californian girl next door. That all worked well with the rise in social media, quick late night bites, YouTube, instagram etc. However that doesn’t make money, at least not for her or any Hollywood studio, not in any substantial way. The films she would make, the 2010s version of a Roberts or Bullock film, people no longer went to see in THEATERS. All Lawrence’s comedies that flopped were big hits on streaming, particularly Netflix. I mean you are right in a way. I wouldn’t say she is less popular. She just isn’t popular in a way that produces millions of dollars for a studio. With streaming will the superstars be the actors or the content producers and writers?
Notice that all the big standup comedians that get big ratings on Netflix are now household names as it pertains to pop culture. They dominant streaming and the water cooler conversation. Outside of that, the show or movie is always bigger than the star in it. I couldn’t name one Game of Thrones actor by first and last name.

People forget the "to me" portion of these statements. I could ask if someone knows who Jackson Wang (he is overseas) or Amelia Dimoldenberg (everyone gets booked on her show these days) and they may not know who they are but they are important to a large group of people.
Some of this stuff is locked into generation and age group. There are people who have been forgotten, period. Then there are people who aren't as big as they were but still around.
R98, Jennifer Lawrence was on WTF with Marc Maron years ago and came across as funny and intelligent. It was the first time I actually liked her. She had a lot of self-awareness. She said that if the movie she was promoting flopped she was done for. She talked about how her past few films had done that, and made it clear she knows how that works. It was sad, but at least she was prepared for it. I got the sense she knew it was going to flop.

by Anonymous | reply 127 | July 27, 2025 6:57 PM |
R124 She may not be a great beauty but I’m talking simple human nature. Men find her highly attractive; women wouldn’t mind looking like her. She’s tall, slim but not too skinny, with a nice rack and long legs. Her features aren’t so classic Hollywood beautiful. I thought that from day one. Also it seem like towards the end of the aughts every big female star was a former Disney or child star. Lawrence was always a grown woman from day 1 even at only 19 or 20. That helped her sex appeal in ways in wouldn’t had she been a teen star. I’m bisexual btw.

R11 Bitch please. Clooney is the reason we had our first black female presidential candidate on a mainstream ticket. Oprah as a singular person the public wants to see is diminished sure, but she forever changed media and pop culture. Things that we take as the norm is built our public conscious now. She introduced the concept of having doctors and psychiatrists on daytime tv, now even with their own talk shows. She introduced the idea of a mainstream woman’s book club, where celebrities impact the sale of a book. She introduced the concept of pop culture being married to everyday life especially as it pertains to domestic life for women and raising children. Joe Rogan needs to thank Oprah. She was the first to do a pop culture take on every aspect of life.

She was definitely A-list. Plus, her father is Hollywood Royalty.

This woman was never popular. She is what you called a working actress. I mean yes she was somewhat popular but not popular popular. She was never even more popular than say a Parker Posey. For one she is borderline fugly so all those big flicks she was in, she was never going to get Maxim or People magazine features.

R211 they launched their Nirvana Black and Nirvana White perfumes in 2013. In 2016 they added Bourbon and Rose and then French Grey in 2017. I think the line was discontinued in 2019. It was very popular for a while. I guess because I'm into fragrance this is what I remembered. I don't think they have ever gone away as household names but they don't do much. The most press they got was the Mary Kate and Heath Ledger thing.

Is it that she works when she wants, or she doesn't really get many offers. She's never been iA-list, she's never been a household name, and she's never carried a movie on her own. She's rather odd looking and a particular type and can be effective in the right part
