Recently moved to a small city. Of the two radio stations here, one plays a quasi-psychologist show called "Delilah". I've never heard of her. The program and her voice are sort of soothing. Googled her. In interviews, she talks about her "faith". Is she another right-winger like "Dr. Laura"? What do we think?
Radio Host Delilah

Barbra did her show once so I doubt she’s a right winger

Married and divorced three times. Fourth husband, Paul Warner, lives 6 1/2 hours away from her. Three bio kids and 10 adopted kids. Two of her sons died – – one of sickle cell anemia and the other by suicide. Her show is usually a radio song request show where somebody tells her about some aspect of their life and requests a song. She owns a radio station.

Aren't there a few Delilah's on the radio? We have one in Florida that seems to take sappy dedication requests ... Seems a little right wing. White trashy callers with their white trashy torch song requests...

She's been around forever... I remember her show from the lite/adult contemporary station in the '90s (which was the last decade I really listened to the radio).

She’s been around for years. Her taste in music is treacly sweet. She plays Lady In Red 10 times each week.
I don’t recall her ever dedicating a song from a gay or lesbian, but it could be we know we don’t stand a chance in her universe. If she’s not a Republican, I’d be highly surprised.

She's not a "therapist" (what the hell?), she's a radio DJ/host who plays music, and talks between songs. She's clearly not doing talk radio, and while her interludes are sappy and she often interacts with callers who have sobs stories connected to their requests (lots of lost loves and long distance loves), I can't see how anyone could take her for a Dr. Laura-style talk radio hosts. She literally plays music throughout her show.
Are you under 30, OP? Years ago this was the norm for radio stations but I guess you were raised on Apple Music and Sirius XM?

@r7, LOL! No, I am an old Boomer who hasn't listened to radio since punk/new wave on college stations in the late 1970s. Recently moved to a sort of rural area for retirement and don't have my speakers set up on my laptop yet to listen to streaming music and favorite Public radio stations, so have been listening to local stations (all two of them) while driving.
Did some more googling and learned that she hasn't taken any LGTBQ callers or subjects in years, so I have canceled this Delilah person.

Dr. Joy Browne welcomed calls from gays and lesbians. Died suddenly in 2016. Time she spent on the piles at the World Trade Center helping after 9/11 was thought to be the cause.

Can’t believe you brought her up, OP: I was listening to a podcast from last year and she is mentioned at the top of the episode. I’d never heard of her before this morning.
