Amy Coney Barrett stands up for the constitution

It’s an interesting realization that conservatives judges and conservative rulings aren’t always bad. Conservative can be good when it means defending aspects of the Constitution like birthright citizenship.

Feeling like pussy feeling like Cunt

by Anonymousreply 1May 18, 2025 3:25 AM

I hate her, of course, but I’ve been surprised by some of her votes. She reminds me of John Roberts—both seem to at least try to put law ahead of partisanship.

OP You're naive or drunk?

by Anonymousreply 3May 18, 2025 3:28 AM

Already a long thread on this subject.

R3 is an idiot. In a situation like this where psychos are trying to end birthright citizenship, defending it because the constitution says so is actually a conservative position. But understanding that requires some level of intelligence.

by Anonymousreply 5May 18, 2025 3:35 AM

I question her motives but let's take what we can get.

by Anonymousreply 6May 18, 2025 3:36 AM

That's great but shouldn't all the SCOTUS judges be standing up for the Constitution? Isn't that their sole job and requirement?

by Anonymousreply 7May 18, 2025 3:38 AM

R6 What do you think her motives might be?

I really want to believe she's the one conservative judge who actually has morals, ethics and standards. (not that I expect to).

by Anonymousreply 8May 18, 2025 3:38 AM

It is because the constitution is so clear on this, that even they see the stupidity. Not to mention, if things can be overturned when written so obviously out right, they could undue the second amendment (which was never about private gun ownership, but militias, but whatever) or other things conservatives like.

by Anonymousreply 9May 18, 2025 3:41 AM

They really are keeping the judges-- district and supreme busy. I wouldn't even be surprised if they turn against Trump solely for extending their normal schedule.

by Anonymousreply 10May 18, 2025 3:42 AM

Proofreading is a virtue R9.

by Anonymousreply 11May 18, 2025 3:43 AM

I hope these assholes are realizing how much they helped fuck the country and will mitigate the worst of the fascist takeover.

by Anonymousreply 12May 18, 2025 3:46 AM

I think she’s a tiny bit more moderate than he expected. I remember when they had that party in the rose garden at the height of Covid and he said some speech and used the term “good genes.”

by Anonymousreply 13May 18, 2025 3:47 AM

R5 believing that this religious fanatic fascist cunt has changed her spots and is "defending" the constitution based on one muddied opinion makes you a dolt.

by Anonymousreply 14May 18, 2025 3:47 AM

No idea as yet r8. But I don't trust her.

by Anonymousreply 15May 18, 2025 3:49 AM

I'm glad this opus dei bitch has some shreds of conscience

by Anonymousreply 16May 18, 2025 4:19 AM

Unlike whiny Opus Dei bitch Samuel Alito

by Anonymousreply 17May 18, 2025 4:25 AM

She loathes Trump.

by Anonymousreply 18May 18, 2025 11:58 AM

well she's the real deal, however there is one major problem in that she thinks it's the year 300 BC.

by Anonymousreply 19May 18, 2025 9:17 PM

Maybe it's finally dawning on her that she has a lifetime position. No one can take it from her and she will never need to look for another job ever again.

by Anonymousreply 20May 18, 2025 9:21 PM

I hope she becomes the new Sandra Day O’Connor, who often was far more moderate than many would have thought.

by Anonymousreply 21May 18, 2025 9:24 PM

R21 don't get your hope up, this bitch is insane , have u seen her crazy eyes? She might be a swinger who will flip flop , just not on abortion or gay marriage

by Anonymousreply 22May 19, 2025 1:06 AM

Trumpers are calling her a traitor and demanding that she be locked up.

That's exactly what a lifetime appointment to the Supremes was supposed to do -- insulate the judges from political considerations so they can follow the law and their conscience.

The Framers were pretty smart for the most part, at least for their time; and if we just follow the Constitution, things may turn out all right in the end.

by Anonymousreply 24May 19, 2025 1:55 AM

Sorry -- I wrote R24 to address R20.

by Anonymousreply 25May 19, 2025 2:00 AM

I was molested on Coney Island.

by Anonymousreply 26May 19, 2025 2:02 AM

r26, just grin and Barrett.

by Anonymousreply 27May 20, 2025 2:36 AM

She's a Christoholic, which is bad in its own right but I think she's not corrupt or transactional, unlike Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh.

by Anonymousreply 28May 20, 2025 2:39 AM

You know, I think Joe was for the most part a good president, but I will never forgive him for helping put Uncle Thomas on the Supreme Court.

There. I said it.
