Might be Stevie’s last tour, you never know at this age. She turns 77 in a few weeks and it’s a miracle that Stevie of all people is one of the pop survivors from 40-50 years ago, given what a self destructive coke habit she had from ‘77 to ‘86. So many others are gone, or no longer performing.

Her voice is getting all the more elderly and there will be no dervish spinning or high kicks in boots. But it’s a total love fest between Stevie and the audience. She’s become so many people’s touchstone and favorite cool great-aunt.

I don’t know if most aging pop singers do that or not, but in her case it has paid off.
