The Biden appearance was superb.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 8, 2025 4:05 PM |
Makes me sad for the country.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 8, 2025 4:08 PM |
I was not impressed by the Biden appearance. Yes, he's obviously better than Trump, but he still seems like an old man who struggles to answer questions coherently. Other older politicians like Bernie or Pelosi sound far more with it than he does.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 8, 2025 4:10 PM |
I would have voted for Joe if he was a head in a Futurama Bottle.
Every decision he made was legal. Every decision was for the betterment of the country and even when given a bad situation always made it better. The evacuation of Kabul on the withdrawal from Afghanistan (as negotiated by Trump) was a Herculean success.
During Operation Frequent Wind, over 7,000 people were evacuated from Saigon, but no other military in the world could do what the U.S. military accomplished in evacuating 124,000 people from Kabul under Commander in Chief Biden.
However, Biden was always running against the Murdoch/Marketing/Analytics Machine that would never give a win to Democrats. That's why I liked the discussion on the Bipartisan Border Security Bill that Trump killed.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 8, 2025 4:18 PM |
That's just Joe's MO, R3. He said they told him not to be so "Joe" when answering questions. But that's just who he is and who he has always been. He makes sense to me, so to each his own.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 8, 2025 4:29 PM |
I disagree, R5. That's the way he's been since 2020 (when his decline was already obvious) and the "Joe has always been like this" narrative was started by his handlers. But if you watch clips from his time as VP, he is far, far sharper. You can't watch this video from 2012 and tell me you think he's the same here as he is today.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 8, 2025 4:37 PM |
It looks like the announcement of the Novo Pappum will preempt The View on the West Coast.
But they have been posting the same day video on YouTube two hours later.
It looks odd seeing those happy faces in Rome when they can be electing a Pope more like Clarence Thomas than St. Francis.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 8, 2025 4:56 PM |
He's exactly the same just older. He speaks in a softer tone and a bit slower. I remember him during the Thomas hearings, so I've been familiar with his manner of speaking for quite some time. In my post at R5, I was referring to his lack of brevity. But as for his mental acuity, just listen to his first answer today, it had more detail and more "big words" than Trump has used in his lifetime.
Here comes the Pope, gotta go.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 8, 2025 5:13 PM |
Does Bernie Sanders speak more slowly or quietly than he did 20 years ago? Does Trump? What you're describing are visible signs of decline.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 8, 2025 9:40 PM |
If you were preempted by the Pope-a-palooza, on the West Coast, here is the full episode (without commercials)
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 8, 2025 9:40 PM |
"The Five" on FOX ripped President Biden and Dr. Biden apart on their show this afternoon. They were reprehensible the way they criticized them - and I'm glad. That's all the proof you need to know that Biden did fantastic today - it's when the FOX/Trump Propaganda Channel is ripping them to shreds. If they acted positively to the interview, I'd be worried.

[quote]Sunny brings up the infamous Kamala interview and tries to flip the script and blame everyone else but Sunny Hostin. You tried. It was good to hear Biden's thoughts on Kamala's answer.
LOL! This must still be eating at her since October. Knowing she's the only one who sunk Kamala's chances of ever becoming President - so let's pretend it's everyone else's fault. Who'd have thought a close-up of Sunny's face would be the opening of a 'Trump for President' commercial, and it got him elected !
Ohhhhhh, how I'd wish in the heat of any moment with Sunny, Ana or Alyssa would just blurt out "You're the fuckin' reason why Harris lost the election!"
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 8, 2025 10:01 PM |
Sunny's framing of the question to Biden today was ridiculous. "Did you really insist there be no daylight between you and Kamala?" What was Biden gonna say other than to deny that? And his denial only served to make Kamala's original answer look even worse! So good job again, Sunny! I imagine Kamala will be *thrilled* to see you at the next meeting of your beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 8, 2025 10:21 PM |
At least today Sunny called out the new pope for his past anti-gay opinions. The rest tried to insist that he said these things years ago and that the climate has changed.

Whoopi will probably come back Monday and wonder when Leo IV will invite her back to stand as a symbol of great comedy.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 9, 2025 4:13 PM |
She'd have to hop in her time machine to meet with Leo IV.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 9, 2025 4:53 PM |
50 years of public service destroyed by the Trump/Murdoch shit storm.
Sad
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 9, 2025 9:06 PM |
I thought for sure Sunny was going to question why 'white smoke' was a yes, and 'black smoke' was a no. She lost her chance of inserting racism in the Pope's election.
I wish Joy would make up her mind on whether she's Catholic or not, so we know what to believe when she talks about religion. When Rosie was hosting the show, Rosie said many times she was a 'recovering Catholic' and left the Church a long time ago. Joy said she was the same - raised Catholic, left the Church and became an Atheist. She really had us believing her for the past 20+ years (always reminding us that she was an Atheist - especially when the Catholic religion was one of the topics). And today she described herself as a 'lapsed Catholic but still a Catholic'? Is she now a 'recovering Atheist' if she's returned to Catholicism ?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 9, 2025 9:30 PM |
Joy is a Secular Italian Catholic.
She likes Christmas and Easter.
Transubstantiation and the Feast of the Circumcision...not so much.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 9, 2025 10:04 PM |
[quote]The rest tried to insist that he said these things years ago and that the climate has changed.
Which is 100% true. You grow, you learn - let's hope he's not the same person he was 12 years ago and has been stunted for the past 12 years. Sunny, of all people, has often credited being on the show for changing the way she thinks about 'women's rights to choose' (she actually credits Whoopi with helping her see the other side) If she can grow in nine years, he could grow in twelve.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 9, 2025 11:05 PM |
R19, she has said she is agnostic. I don't ever recall her saying she is an atheist. She's probably says she's Catholic because she was raised Catholic but is no longer a practicing Catholic.
R21, Whoopi's mentioned she's had at least seven abortions, so I suppose she wouId be the go-to gal on pro-choice. Sunny's stance also changed on LGB when her goddaughter came out as lesbian.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 9, 2025 11:21 PM |
R22 During the Rosie season, she proudly called herself an Atheist (it was Rosie who called herself Agnostic). As she said (along with Rosie) - she's a recovering Catholic, and endlessly mocked the Church. She rolled her eyes whenever Hasslebeck and Sherri Shepherd spoke of their Christian faith - she didn't believe it any of it.
If you're raised Catholic and leave the church and their beliefs for another belief system (agnostic, atheist) you are no longer a Catholic. That's like being a Republican all your life, and at 50 you leave the Republicans and join the Democrats. You're no longer a Republican if you left the party and no longer endorse their policies.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 9, 2025 11:40 PM |
R23, for the love of Pete (I won't say for the love of God or you may flip out) here is snippet of an interview with Joy
On an ABC News show, Focus on Faith (hosted by Father Edward Beck on, I believe, March 17, 2011), Behar stated:
EB: I said to you before, Wikipedia, I don't know if you can believe anything on Wikipedia. It said on there that you think that now you're an agnostic. What does that mean?
Joy Behar: Well, I would go to that. I wouldn't call myself an atheist. Because that's a commitment to something. I'm a-theist. And I'm not atheist. Cause I feel very modest in this conversation in the sense that I don't know. I don't know what it is.
EB: But do you pray to someone, something out there?
Joy Behar : No.
EB: You don't.
Joy Behar : No.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 10, 2025 1:05 AM |
R24 So she was an Atheist in 2006, an Agnostic in March, 2011 and on May 9, 2025 she's saying she's a Catholic. How convenient - she changes for her audience.

R26, I only responded because you seem to be obsessed with Joy's views on religion or lack thereof. You refuse to shut up about it, so I tried to settle it once and for all. The problem is you don't want to let it go. You seem to want to prove she's using religion to appease certain guests or whatever. She can convert to Judaism tomorrow is she so pleases. It's her life, her choice. So go forth and continue to bitch but I won't be responding from now on. Cool? Good.
R29, do they still have Sweeps months? If so, they should be booking the cream of the crop for this period. Scheduled guests do look a bit sparse so they may have some segments set aside for breaking political news where they can schedule a politician or journalist last minute to cover whatever story needs a political analyst.

Sunny changed her views on the new Pope when she found out he's part Haitian. She loves him now.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 12, 2025 3:48 PM |
I guess despite census documentation listing the Pope's family as white for the last 100 years, he's not one of those Nikki Haley style "chameleons" that Sunny hates.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 12, 2025 6:07 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 12, 2025 7:53 PM |
Sunny said, “we actually have a Black Pope”.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 12, 2025 8:37 PM |
And while discussing Trump violating the emoluments clause, Whoopi said "There are politicians and then there's us. We are the 'we the people' that everybody keeps talking about. You can't sit this one out. You saw, they came, they showed you. And now all of us are other. We are all other." Huh? She sounds like Trump with the incoherent rambling that comes out of her mouth.

When discussing Qatar’s gift of a plane to,Trump, Whoopi informed us that she is friends with Presidents and she knows that when they throw a party, she is aware that she can’t bring a gift.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 12, 2025 9:23 PM |
Now if only the Pope can show he has some Jewish ancestry in him like Sunny, she'll be ecstatic. Were any of his European descendants slave traders by any chance ? That would really excite her !

[quote] What didn't you understand her saying ? She was pretty clear to me.
1) what did that have to do with the emoluments clause discussion? 2) we're all "other" because...we're not politicians?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 12, 2025 9:41 PM |
R44 The point she was making was that for those who truly believed Trump was 'one of us' while he was campaigning (he was going to lower the price of eggs and groceries on day one, lest we forget) , take a look at what he's actually doing. He's not 'one of us'. They believed him, they gave him back the White House, he arrived - and showed us who he really is (his latest antic - ignoring the emoluments clause. He's not part of 'we the people' - he's out for himself, and himself only, and the GOP is fine with this. They're not saying boo about this gift he's receiving.
So she wants everyone to wake up and go vote the midterms (which is 18 months away) and vote MAGA out of Congress. MAGA, like the President, is not for 'we the people'
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 12, 2025 9:57 PM |
Whoopi asks that all the networks STOP showing the hotel video of Diddy kicking his 'girlfriend' Cassie in the hallway while she scrunched in the fetal position. She warns, 'We've seen enough of this' and we don't need to see it again and again. (The others agreed with her, of course). Apparently, her own bosses at ABC News don't give a shit about what she thinks - they played the video repeatedly on 'World News Tonight' when anchor David Muir was reporting on the story.
Sunny is our eyes and ears in the courtroom, as she's been heading over to the trial each day once 'The View' wraps. I don't think this will sit well with Ana on Friday - I expect her to say she has her friend Cassie staying in her NYC apartment this week, and Ana herself is the designated driver to the hospital, should Cassie go into labor. So you can shove your legal pad up your ass, Sunny !

Whoopi out sick. Again. Joy doesn't seem to care if we're alone or not so no empathetic sign-off today.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 14, 2025 5:52 PM |
Yeah, it's too bad Whoopi wasn't there to tell us if Diddy committed "rape rape," look directly at the camera and exclaim "you don't get to take gifts from Qatar. That's not how this works,", and then welcome "Ron Samuels."
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 14, 2025 6:04 PM |
I just listened to Jameela Jamil on today’s podcast and I retract my criticism. In fact, I actually really like her now.

So Ana wants viewers to believe that 'years ago' she was in a New York hotel, and staff members told her -out of hundreds of thousands of people they see in a year - they singled her out and told her 'you wouldn't believe what goes on in Diddy's room when he stays here'. Of all the notables who stayed in this apparently 'high end hotel', and all the 'shenanigans' that went on in each room, these staff members decided to pay close attention to Diddy's room, and tell Ana Navarro (of all people) the next time she stayed at the hotel.
To paraphrase Judge Judy, 'This is what she wants us to believe?'
To quote Judge Judy, 'It's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.'

[quote]Did Joy and Sunny refuse to share the table with Trumpster Kelsey Grammer?
It looked like they didn't have enough time for three hosts to conduct an interview (Whoopi even apologized to Sara for 'stepping over her question') , let alone five. It was a very emotional interview, and he needed enough time to tell the story. Made sense to cut two of them.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | May 16, 2025 12:01 AM |
Usually, others sit attentively. Joy can be counted on for an I liked it, me too, what do you think Whoopi?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 16, 2025 12:18 AM |
They should have kept Sunny at the table, but I suppose they didn't want a prosecutor's perspective on his sister's murder. It would have been insightful, but it seemed more about his emotional journey rather than an overview of what would happen to someone who raped and murdered a young woman. I think she could have added to the conversation because she has experience dealing with family members of victims but twas not to be.

Friday's show was a pre-recorded snooze (and at times, edited terribly). Too bad it wasn't live, and they talked about Comey's situation which is in the headlines. Instead, they devote the HT to the new book on Biden. The women seemed to be in agreement that the 'anointment' of Harris was a mistake (they should have had a primary), although Sunny disagreed - to the surprise of no one.
[quote]I have yet to hear her defend Diddy so, in this instance, I would have to disagree with your comment.
I don't think you understand Sunny's agenda. So let me ask you: Are there any white men involved in Diddy's trial for her to defend Diddy from ?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | May 16, 2025 9:29 PM |
Today's episode was a perfect example of why this show has sucked since the election. Sara and Alyssa are having an adult discussion about the issues in the Democratic party and voters' concerns about Biden's age last year and it gets completely derailed by Ana's incessant ass kissing of Joe Biden and Sunny's whataboutisms about Trump. Yes, we all would prefer Biden over Trump, but we seriously can't have a discussion about how badly the Democrats blew it and are continuing to blow it?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 16, 2025 10:55 PM |

I haven't seen today's show, but I can already guess what happened. Ana talked about how well she knows Joe Biden and what a wonderful and decent man he is and how devastated she is by this news. Whoopi rambled incoherently and then looked directly into the camera and said "get better, Joe!" Alyssa and Sara said that whether or not you voted for him, he deserves respect for his decades of public service and should be treated with compassion during a health crisis. Sunny highlighted his service with the first black President and selection of the first black woman VP and black woman Supreme Court justice. Then they talked about the last episode of Summer House while Whoopi pretended to be asleep.

This panel has reached Trump levels of idiocy with the first HT. An entire HT devoted to the Louisiana prison break mainly in defense of these men. Why? (Sunny exempt question)
They highlight the message written on the wall was written incorrectly, Joy says they're not Rhodes scholars to which the highly educated except not, Whoopi admonishes "You never know." I think in this instance WE KNOW. More time spent defending these murderers when Sunny the prosecutor puts on her public defender cap of the downtrodden and begins to give reasons why these convicted murderers were able to escape. Joy asked a question specifically directed to Sunny and Alyssa. I was interested in what they had to say but then Whoopi cut them off to share more of her slowly dying gray matter rationale.
Krist Noem is a plastic imbued and infused imbecile who slaughters innocent animals. Marco Rubio must have a prolapsed anus at this point with all the bending over he has done in the name of trump. It's good to see they both act like this under oath. Easier to nail them to the wall later.
They go after Jennifer Lawrence for saying "I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor." Maybe they should have done a tiny bit of research before they went in for the kill. She's at Cannes because her film Die, My Love is in competition. She plays the mother of a newborn who is quickly losing her grip on reality. Side note: She's the leading contender for an Oscar next year. My question is, were they so hard up for a mommy topic they had to go build an entire HT over her comment?
Weird HT choices today but Whoopi pulling out her pocket copy of The Constitution was the highlight for me. I think she ended up using it as a coaster, but you know, baby steps.

I actually agree with Iger. I used to love the show’s political focus (and fully tuned out during the seasons they shifted away from it) but lately I find the Weekend View much more enjoyable thanks to its lighter tone. Since the election, the show has seemed unable to figure out how to cover the Trump administration without speechifying or just repeating the same points over and over. I’m also really turned off by most of the hosts’ inability to be constructively critical about the Dems. When they brushed aside the books about Biden’s decline with their “we need to forget the past and just focus on the future,” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes since these were the same women who criticized the Republicans for wanting to just move past January 6th to look ahead. Only Alyssa and Sara seem capable of having a nuanced conversation at this point or being able to hold two thoughts in their head at the same time.

Why did Joy sit out the Jackman interview ? Same assumption as to why she sat out the Kelsey Grammer interview ? Or was there concern over her bringing up his acrimonious divorce he's currently going through ?
Sunny said she doesn't have a problem if her mother or father (divorced since she was a teen) had a younger 'romantic partner' if that's the companionship they desire (this was during the Belichick discussion). That's odd - she had a problem when her son Gabe was dating a woman much older than he. She objected to their 'companionship'. Why the change of heart ?
by Anonymous | reply 88 | May 22, 2025 8:52 PM |
Because Sunny is a hypocrite. Just look at her stance on abortion, which she claims to oppose due to her Catholic beliefs, and gay rights, which she claims to support in spite of her Catholic beliefs.

R88, it goes back to Jackman refusing to appear on The View to promote Deadpool & Wolverine, and some mishegoss involving DEI. Joy was supposed to have five interviews with Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in which she would have been paid $10 million. Disney promised to pay her the money even though the interviews never happened, and then they reneged on the offer.
I have not watched the film but there was supposed to be a scene in which the characters mocked The View and Joy in particular.

R92, I thought the same thing. Sunny seems to be loosening up a bit so I'm wondering if she's trying to branch out with outside political/legal pundit gigs, but they find her too polarizing. Whenever her name comes up in online comment sections, the first thing that's mentioned is her obsession with race.

C&P from Muriel's fave rag: The View host 'out in the cold after she had nerve to scold ABC boss who warned them to stop anti-Trump rants'
Ana Navarro faces being given a very cold shoulder by her co-stars on The View after she had the nerve to challenge her uber-powerful boss' complaint that the show's constant moaning about Donald Trump is boring.
Bob Iger - CEO of ABC parent company Disney - asked the panel show to tone down the politics in recent weeks after finding viewers responded better to frothier showbusiness segments, the Daily Beast reported.
Navarro is then said to have taken it upon herself to push back against Iger - one of the most powerful figures in media - by insisting that viewers enjoy being served a daily dose of resistance-style rants. But the anti-Trump Republican may have made a very dangerous error.
Fox News is now reporting that Navarro's co-hosts actually 'agree' with Iger and that they're happy to change the direction of the show.
The stars are also said to fear that 'ignoring Bob Iger seems like a terrible decision.' Bosses on The View are famously brutal with dumping stars who don't play by the rules or who are disliked by the audience - meaning Navarro could find her role next on the chopping block.

I don't buy this report. No one is watching The View for the inane celebrity interviews or the other frivolous shit they do. It's the Hot Topics that generate the buzz and the ratings. If they start backing off a lot and shit gets crazier, viewers are going to take notice, get annoyed and stop watching. It's already obvious when they choose not to cover certain topics/stories. This will just make it worse.
Wasn't Whoopi the one running around the office a few years back screaming about how she was a slave when they tried to change things in her contract?

Fucking Whoopi always jumping to the defense of the abuser and ever the celebrity apologist extraordinaire. Macron's wife was caught grabbing his face and it didn't look like they were being playful but what would one expect from someone who defended Mel Gibson, Bill Cosby and Michael Vick. Ever since she was cancelled, she thinks she's the arbiter of supposed wrongly accused celebrities.
Ana twisted herself into a pretzel in order to insert a photo of herself and Shakira into a HT on AI. She has a problem. Seriously.
Sunny off for an entire week because her son is graduating from Harvard. If she comes back and goes on about her father telling her she was the first family member to go to college, she's going on mute. Bets on Ana trying to outdo Sunny's photo/video display presentation of her son's graduation by desperately name-dropping a bunch of celebs whom she claims are her besties.
Joy is an old grouch. "Get that AI off my lawn!" Sara is steady as she goes. Alyssa sounded a little insane when she went off on the Afghanistan withdrawal which, by the way was set up by her former boss.
Another Hot Topic about Trump. To sum up: Trump is a self-absorbed dick, and Trump will always be a self-absorbed dick. Happy Memorial Day you SCUM!!!

WAIT A MINUTE...
They're discussing the age difference between Macron and his wife (his wife is 24 years his senior) and they say it's rare for the woman to be older. I guess they never heard of Joan Collins who is married to her husband 30+ years her junior ?
Then they compare when a man is older than his wife, and someone mentions Trump is 24 years older than Melania and we deem it as 'acceptable'. Ana sat their rather quietly. Why didn't she speak up in defense of older man / younger woman ? Her husband is also 24 years older than she - he's 77. Why doesn't she speak up and tell us what it's like to be in a marriage with a great age difference ? We don't have to 'assume' when Exhibit A is right there sitting next to you.
Speaking of marriages, Hugh Jackman was at the table on Thursday, and they didn't dare ask him about the status of his two year separation. Maybe because his wife reportedly blind-sided him and served him with divorce papers in Manhattan the next morning ?

As for Jackman he deserves everything coming his way. I read the divorce filing was held up for the past two years because there was no pre-nup in place. When they married, she had been acting for twenty years. She was the star, and he was some no name who had one acting credit. She should get half of everything and if he balks, he's an even bigger douchebag than he's already revealed himself to be.

Fair enough.
But did she say the same thing about Melania during Trump's first term, when they were walking towards the plane and Trump tried to hold her hand, and she brushed it away ? Or did she point out what everyone said at the time - she was pissed at him ?

Biden ran the country, fought off Manchin/Sinema, and got legislation passed, like the ARPA and PPP, that saved America.
But for 2 trillion dollars of direct assistance to the post Trump Pandemic economy [I am not responsible], you would never think it was Biden doing all the heavy lifting. Fox learned, after paying $787M in fines for lying FOR Trump, all you have to do is OMIT any good thing about DEMOCRATS.

KUDOS to Anthony Weiner ! He kicks off his interview at the table with the question, "Is this where Kamala Harris was sitting when she blew up her campaign ? Is this the spot ? I hope I don't have the same fate. " Joy and Sara gave a light laugh (Joy said, 'Yeah - it was right there, actually'), Alyssa laughed heartily, and Ana just smiled - I guess she doesn't want to catch Sunny's wrath next week.
BTW, Weiner is getting sexier with age. The guy is 60 and looks 15 years younger - not a wrinkle on his face and still has a nice slender body. I'd do him in a heartbeat.

(They did the same thing in October for Italian American History month).
Now imagine if they reduced 'Black History' month down to one 90 second segment during the month of February. How would that go over ?

AFG is on CNN this morning, on a show called 'Table for Five' - which there are five hosts sharing their viewpoints and talking about 'this week's headlines'. (Wherever did they get that concept from ? It's so unique!)
I must say, she holds her own against the other four (liberals, conservatives, independents) and sates her case clearly.
It must burn Sunny's biscuits that AFG is on CNN weekend shows, getting plenty of camera time and attention while Sunny was fired from the network years ago. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - 'The View' is nothing but a resume filler for AFG. I'd be surprised if she stays with the show beyond one more season.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | May 31, 2025 2:27 PM |
The discussion on 'Table for Five' turned to Trump's administration putting pressure on the networks to give him more favorable coverage. One of the hosts turned to AFG and said 'You know this for a fact - ABC told you and the other hosts to be kinder to Trump on 'The View' (I'm paraphrasing).
AFG flatly denied this and wanted to set the record straight (she had heard the same rumors that ABC has clamped down on the show).
She said that NO ONE has ever told her, her cohosts, or the producer to 'tone it down' or 'go easier' on Trump and his administration. They are free to speak their minds and say what they want - just like Barbara Walters produced years ago. There is no involvement from the network or the White House on what or how they can cover the President. They all say what they believe, and discuss what they want. (Everyone at the table was surprised to hear this, I think).

R143, CNN viewership is nowhere near the View's. She is a co-host on the number one daytime talk show. A show which always makes the news whether it be pop culture or red meat for the Trumpers. I think she gets much more exposure from The View than she does on the cable/weekend news shows. Unless she books something like her own political talking head type of show with her name above the title, I believe she'll stick around.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | June 1, 2025 2:39 AM |
R145 I think she will indeed get offered her own show from CNN with her name above the title. I have always felt that is what she was striving for all along. If CNN offers her something, I don't think she'll have to think twice about leaving 'The View' - or to be more precise, leaving her chair next to Sunny. She doesn't deserve the disrespect and tension from Sunny which she goes through every day.

R146, I've only watched one episode of the Weekend View, but watching Sunny and Alyssa interact on the weekend ep vs the weekday shows is like night and day. Maybe they're more in professional/debate mode when they do the regular show's political topics.
On the weekend ep I watched, they let their guard down and seemed to get along quite well when discussing light pop culture topics. Or maybe they were told by Brian to play nice for the lighter weekend topics. Either way it looks genuine. I do believe Sunny even looked at Alyssa occasionally. Can you imagine?

Whoopi is doing that "Welcome to The View!" "Welcome to The View!" Welcome to The View!" shtick again, even though it's a new studio with a completely different audience set-up. Why is she still on the show? She adds nothing to the discussion. Today she cut in when Alyssa started to speak. I would rather hear what Alyssa has to say instead of endless ramblings peppered with "you know."
Trump Adjacent HT Opening: Joni Ernst is a sociopathic, condescending asshole. You don't treat your constituents in such a manner.
They did an entire segment on Patti Lupone and her huge ego. Sunny was extremely forgiving which makes me think she's had a personality transplant over the past few months, complete with Sunshine of the Spotless Mind race memory removal. Or possibly she finally got a talking to or she's looking to expand her resume, so she has to play nice and appear sane before she can close the deal.
Ralph Macchio looks the same. That will probably be etched into his monument. That and a notation he was a mediocre actor who was able to ride the same role for his entire career. Makes Stallone's Rocky look like a feeble attempt with only six films.
VYD: Sara solo so it was probably taped last week. I suppose that's why Whoopi did the deja vu bit multiple times last week. Buy some new material, Whoopi or just retire, preferably the latter.

Whoopi kicked off June as 'Gay Pride Month' and promised everyone the show will be celebrating gay pride all month long. Celebrate exactly how, Whoopi ? Will they highlight gay men and women who have had an impact on our culture, society and politics - like they do for Black History Month on a daily basis in February? Are they going to promote gay owned businesses or rainbow merchandise for their daily 'View Your Deal' segments, as they did in February for BHM ? Will Adam Glassman be promoting Oprah's favorite gay businesses and wear rainbow themed clothing while doing so ?
Or are they going to do a 60 second segment one day this week and forget about Gay Pride Month like they did with Asian American And Pacific Islander Heritage Month last month ? Or no segment at all, and just a fifteen second mention like they celebrated Italian American History month last October ?
Let's check back with Whoopi on June 30 and see how they celebrated 'all month long'.

Whoopi said very little - just read off the camera to introduce the Lupone / MacDonald drama. Yet, the look on her face (and tone of her voice) suggested she's not at all on Lupone's side. I would have liked to hear her view on the situation. Even better - I'd love to hear Joy Behar's opinion. Like Lupone, she's another brassy Sicilian.
As the Diddy trial continues to heat up with witness after witness testifying against him, and the news stations covering this each afternoon, they don't feel it would be worthwhile to cover this in Hot Topics ?

I don't think they use the earpieces anymore. They make a lot of mistakes which used to be corrected in real time. Now they just move on to the next topic and there are no corrections. There have been so many over the past two days. Ridiculous. They also need to sit their asses down and do research or at least be briefed before they discuss on-air topics. Something's lacking with the prep lately.
Whoopi with the TACO D bullshit. His name is already in the acronym you fucking idiot, so you don't have to add the D. Now she's doing her Valley Girl accent. Whoopi doesn't realize she left the cool cat phase and has now moved into crazy old aunt phase. The laughs from the co-hosts over her Valley Girl bullshit are awkward at best.
Did Sunny mention anything about her son's graduation? She usually shows photos and video of such occasions. Something's up with her.
I don't give a fuck about the Beckhams family squabbles. All I know is Brooklyn's wife is the daughter of Nelson Peltz. The asshole who tried to take control of P&G and instead thanked the stock. POS.
Cohen needs to clear his fucking throat and stop yelling when he speaks. Two segments with this non-entity. The only entertaining part was the AI-generated toddler video. Bonus: They asked him about PRIDE Month.
Tonys are coming up so show us your wares. Broadway actress who is black and The View has to let everyone know she is black. I do believe she is the first black actress to be black according to the ladies of The View.
Whoopi flogs that poor dead horse one woman show yet again with a Broadway revival/reading with the black actress who is black. This actress reminds me of Jasmine Guy who also happens to be black.
Political commercials abound. Please stop with the midget candidates constantly telling us they'll take care of that schmuck Trump. You look and sound like something out of the Wizard of Oz.
Jardience chubettes dancing and playing baseball. Choreography is key when dealing with Type II Diabetes and obesity.
Would someone please let Whoopi know I would rather be "in this alone." Thanks.

I think that ABC/Disney quietly moved The View back to the entertainment division and out of News. Just like Fox. Entertainments. So much more difficult to sue.

Will Whoopi's monologues hold up now? It seems an odd choice for the new Lincoln Center to produce for her first season. I suspect they're very dated.

I'm done with Whoopi's "Valley Girl" character she keeps on unpacking during Hot Topics. I wish she'd dust off 'Fontaine' and let him do the talking - especially when discussing Diddy.
Shout out to us RIers for RHORI. However, it's an open secret that so far, none of the 'wives' are native RI, most have either married into a RI family or moved here this winter from NY and NJ. So much for authenticity. And by Cohen's description, it sounds like it's going to be stereotypical Italian families to represent the state, I guess because there couldn't find Latino housewives, Black housewives, or WASP housewives ? Joy said she would never want to do a 'Housewives' series because she wont fight with other women - only with men in authority. I hope Meghan McCain and Elisabeth Hasslebeck heard that.
Andy Cohen looks ten years older than his 57 years, Alcohol will do that to you.

The View's Sunny Hostin is still serving legal eagle vibes as she takes up permanent perch inside Sean "Diddy" Combs' courtroom, the TV personality revealed on the latest episode of the Behind the Table podcast.
The 56-year-old former federal prosecutor, who has sat in on Combs' proceedings since the rapper's high-profile sex trafficking trial began on May 5 in New York City, recalled a jarring moment she shared with Combs as the day unfolded.
"He’s very engaged," Hostin observed of Combs' behavior in the room, after he was accused of interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, coercion and enticement to engage in prostitution, and more (the entertainer has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him following his September arrest in Manhattan).
"I know him," Hostin added. "He was staring at me one day, and I’m thinking, oh my goodness. I spoke to his mother very briefly in the bathroom. I’m watching the jurors because they’re taking this in."
Hostin, also a lawyer who worked her way through the legal circuit after first serving as a law clerk in Maryland, admitted that she feels "there are dream teams on both sides" of the case, including Combs' legal team fronted by "crackerjack defense attorneys" like Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos.
"Teny is Mark Geragos' daughter, my friend and famed attorney. Marc Agnifilo is not as well known as Mark Geragos, but his wife, Karen, is representing Luigi [Mangione]," Hostin said. "You’ve got powerhouse folks in there. It’s some of the best lawyering I’ve seen."
Hostin admitted that, as a result of that legal prowess, she thinks "it could go either way, because it’s such an odd case for people to get their minds around."

Whoopi has been a bit too giddy lately. Her contract was up at the end of this season so I'm assuming she re-signed. She literally brings nothing to the table unless it's an ugly holiday sweater or some other garbage she's promoting.
I assume they pre-taped tomorrow's show. This Musk/Trump bitchfest is Hot Topics gold. They need to get their asses back to the table five days a week and do it live.
Clinton/Patterson did not keep me engaged. I think they had four segments. Three segments too many.

Give it a rest, R169. Whoopi is a washed-up has-been who was damn lucky Barbara took pity on her and gave her a much-needed job. Are you the same moron who insisted Whoopi would get Sister Act III produced? How's that working out for her?
WHOOPI IS A BURNOUT. LIKE I'M MUCH MORE SUITED HAVING A CANNABIS BUSINESS THAN I AM MODERATING A SHOW IN WHICH I MAY ACTUALLY HAVE TO USE WHAT'S LEFT OF MY FUNCTIONING GRAY MATTER, BURNOUT.
JOY IS OLD. LIKE GET OFF MY LAWN, OLD.
SUNNY IS NUTS. I WEAR MAKEUP TO BED SO MY HUSBAND WON'T SEE MY ACTUAL FACE, NUTS.
This show needs a shakeup aka a new view. I can recite exactly how they're going to respond before they respond. Sara and Alyssa are the only ones who don't always stick to the script. I think there are changes afoot for next season. If not, I won't be tuning in on a daily basis because it's just too damn rote. Same old, same old every damn day.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | June 6, 2025 5:53 AM |
Joy is slipping. Notice how she constantly tries to bring Trump into everything with a joke that falls flat. She can’t remember names. She’s not on her A game anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | June 6, 2025 10:08 AM |
I said a few months ago, I have a feeling Joy will be leaving. She's not herself - starting with her walk to the chair every morning. She seems wobbly, and usually Sara has take her by the arm to help her to the chair (the other day it was Whoopi who helped her) - though the cameras quickly cut away from Joy while she's having difficulty. Also, she is indeed slipping in her conversations (not remembering names, telling old tired jokes, etc.). She'll be 83 in October - I have a feeling she may stay with the show through December, and not come back for the second half of next season.
I can't imagine Whoopi leaving at this point. She has a nice income from the show, the ratings are at the top of their game, and she seems to do her 'own thing' and no one cares. She turns 70 in November - where else can she get a gig like this ?
As for Sunny, I believe her continuance is dependent on what's happening with her husband and his 'cheating Medicare' legal situation. No way does she want to sit there every day with a smile on her face while her husband is being dragged through the mud in the local media. We shall see.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | June 6, 2025 11:57 AM |
Did anyone notice that when the delightful and refreshing actress Kara Young sat for her interview the other day, she didn't kiss Whoopi's ass ? I think she's the only black actor under 50 who has sat at the table and didn't give Whoopi her proper ass kissing. I mean, she didn't give WG credit for any of her success, for her start in show biz, for being an 'inspiration', for opening the door, for shattering the ceiling, etc. - which made her refreshing and delightful.
I'm certain that was her first and last time on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | June 6, 2025 12:02 PM |
Not a chance. Kara will "be" Whoopi come fall when she's part of the Whoopi Monologues. Goldberg will be shilling for that show day after day and probably have the entire ensemble on, one by one if not together.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | June 6, 2025 4:14 PM |
Whoopi Monologues doesn't debut until Fall of 2026 and a lot can change by then (the cast, the production, the premiere date - even whether it happens or not).

Now that her son has graduated from Harvard, Sunny had to reiterate HE GOT IN ON HIS OWN! It was his near-perfect SAT scores and his 4.0 GPA which got him in, certainly not her celebrity or wealth. Got it ? (She didn't mention if he was a DEI admission, though).

Those things are all evidence of white privilege.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | June 6, 2025 10:21 PM |
R177, no it's not. Asian kids who come from immigrant parents do just as well (better, actually) than white kids when it comes to test scores. There was a major lawsuit brought by Asian applicants who were denied admission to Harvard because Harvard felt they were overrepresented. You really need to stop with the white privilege bullshit. That's Sunny's forte.

So we just completed week one of the 'Month Long Celebration of Gay Pride' on 'The View' (as Whoopi promised us on Monday morning). So what did we celebrate with them this week and what did we learn ?
Which gay actor, actress, business owner, author, teacher, politician, chef, etc. did they spotlight this week, telling us their history, and encouraging viewers to learn more about 'this amazing person' on their website by scanning the QR code at the bottom of our screen (as they did in February with Black History Month) ?
Nobody. So much for a 'celebration' of Gay Pride.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | June 7, 2025 1:42 PM |
R179, what part of the term Asian American is not considered a minority term? They don't have a leg up like the whites supposedly do. The argument with black students who perform abysmally on tests is the tests are targeted to "white culture. If so, then how do these Asian kids who have immigrant parents perform so well? The bottom line is the Ivies give preference to those who perform the worst. If it were true DEI, they would have included Asian Americans, but they don't because they gained admission by having excellent test scores. It doesn't matter who brought the suit, the facts remain. Lastly, most colleges no longer require SAT scores to gain entrance. What does that tell you.
R181, they had Andy Cohen on and asked him about the political climate in relation to gays and T.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | June 7, 2025 7:05 PM |
Andy Cohen ? That's the best they could do for 'gay pride' this week ? Funny, I don't recall them scraping the bottom of the barrel to find a Black guest during the month of February. I hope going forward they can do better.

[quote]Lastly, most colleges no longer require SAT scores to gain entrance. What does that tell you.
That Sunny needs to stop bragging her son had a near perfect SAT score because colleges don't give a shit ? She should admit that she handed a nice chunk of change over to the admissions department, because that's the only way he truly got in, and what really matters to the Ivies ?
by Anonymous | reply 184 | June 7, 2025 7:40 PM |
I give Sunny credit for raising two kids (although the daughter sounds like a piece of work) and instilling in them the importance of academic excellence. Her parents made her education a top priority. I'm sure she knows where she'd be in life without her private school education laying the foundation for future opportunities. Opportunities she never would have had if she had remained in the Bronx public school system.
R183, I agree. When it was Black History Month, Whoopi made sure to announce these segments were more important than ever because of the current administration's erasure of DEI. Yet I've noticed with Pride Month, those small segments usually reserved for this topic, they've instead filled with promotional product segments. Let's see if they step up next week and do something other than the typical lip service by promising more to come. More to come? There hasn't been anything yet.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | June 7, 2025 8:01 PM |
Interesting line-up this week except for Sherri because how many times can you hear someone tell you the world is flat. I guess Bob the Drag Queen is the Pride Month token for this week.
Monday 9 June Former co-host Sherri Shepherd.
Tuesday 10 June The cast of "And Just Like That..." Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Nicole Ari Parker and Sarita Choudhury.
Wednesday 11 June Actor Colman Domingo.
Thursday 12 June How to Train Your Dragon actor Gerard Butler; Bob the Drag Queen, author of "Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert: A Novel."
Friday 13 June Actress Carrie Coon.

One of the most ridiculous responses every posted on DL. You have no idea how her life would've turned out had she remained in the Bronx public school system. None at all (and neither does she). Success in life is formed by many different experiences and opportunities; not just where one went to high school.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | June 8, 2025 7:41 PM |
R187, unless you've read her memoir as I have, you're the one who hasn't a clue. Her parents moved out of the Bronx away from her relatives (who weren't the most motivated people in the world) to an apartment in Stuyvesant in order for her to attend private school. There is no way in hell she would have had the life she has without that move (both physically and mentally.)
Some stats which also incorporate Bronx High School of Science which is ranked within the top 1% of all public schools in NYC. So, including this school inflates the score: In New York Public schools in Bronx, NY have an average math proficiency score of 32% and a reading proficiency score of 40%. Overall, schools in Bronx have an average ranking of 3/10, which is in the bottom 50% of New York public schools.

Did anyone else notice when the women from 'And Just Like That' came out to the stage and greet the hosts, everyone stood up to embrace them, except Joy ? She was sitting in front on the 'lower director chair' (the higher chairs were behind her and Whoopi) and never stood up. It confirms (to me) what I've been saying as I see her needing help walking to her chair nearly every day at the table - she's having mobility issues. It makes me wonder whether she returns in September.
As a side note, I really wish Sara, Ana, Joy and Alyssa would respond to Sunny when she's talking as Sunny responds to them when they're talking.
Whenever one of those four women are speaking on a topic, Sunny never, ever turns to look at them. She drops her head and either stares at her index cards or at the table, or she holds her head up and stares straight ahead to the audience - showing complete disinterest in what they're saying. It's so dismissive. Yet these ladies are respectful to her, and look right at her when it's her time to speak. The only time she looks anyone in the eye when they're talking is Whoopi.

R228 Not sure. It was on the 'tabloid sites' at the time but died down after a few days. I'm glad, in a way. It has kept him away from the show for the past four or five seasons (which isn't a bad thing - they booked him way too much).
I remember it was also reported that Barbara Walters couldn't stomach him, but because her friend Behar kept pushing for him to appear on the show, she allowed it. (I think I read that in that book 'Ladies Who Punch'). However you could see the disdain on Walters' face whenever he was on the show - and I don't think he liked her, either.

Sunny was on today’s podcast talking about the Diddy trial. She said she’s dying to talk about it on the show but the hosts pick the topics and the others aren’t interested. I imagine it’s because Whoopi and Joy are too old, Alyssa and Sara are too white, and Ana is jealous that Sunny is in the room with celebrities and she’s not.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | June 17, 2025 4:10 AM |
I assumed she stopped talking about it because Disney/ABC wanted viewers to pay for HULU and listen her take exclusively on there.
by Anonymous | reply 231 | June 17, 2025 4:32 AM |
If anyone is shooting it down, it's Whoopi.
Think back to eleven years ago (2014-15) when Rosie rejoined the show and wanted to talk about Bill Cosby, and the women coming out of the woodwork accusing him of sexual misconduct. Whoopi didn't want to talk about it, shutting it down and saying they would discuss it after 'he had his day in court', and 'innocent until proven guilty'. Once Rosie left the show, she told all - how Whoopi controlled the 'hot topics' and what could / couldn't be discussed on the show. It was not a 'group decision' from all the hosts.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | June 17, 2025 11:38 AM |
Well Whoopi doesn’t have total control over Hot Topics how frequently she puts on her unfunny valley girl voice or stares off into space when they discuss something she doesn’t care about.
by Anonymous | reply 233 | June 17, 2025 1:20 PM |
Come on, Brian. I know Whoopi has had issues with her sight, but she can't even read the damn teleprompter for a basic guest intro and she admits to as much. Besides a high Q rating what exactly does she bring to this show? Meanwhile, I can list a host of negatives which make her unfit to sit in that moderator's seat. And I'm so damn tired of her preaching to us after every topic. Or if she considers a topic beneath her she just sits there like a spoiled brat in a time-out.
If they want to keep her around, they need to move someone like Sara over to the moderator position, but Whoopi will never play second fiddle to anyone. So again, why is she still there? Her contract is up for renewal, I wonder if they're stupid enough to re-sign her.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | June 17, 2025 4:11 PM |
[quote]Besides a high Q rating what exactly does she bring to this show?
That's all they care about. Once the 'Q' rating starts to fall, that's when they look for a replacement. Just ask Debbie, Star, Elisabeth and Megan. Whoopi's job is fine - unless she wants to leave.
by Anonymous | reply 235 | June 17, 2025 9:20 PM |
[quote] Well Whoopi doesn’t have total control over Hot Topics
If that were true, Rosie wouldn't have left after five months. Ask Rosie how much control Whoopi has on what's discussed in 'Hot Topics'.
She loves when they discuss 'nonsense' during HT. She can make her 'silly faces' to the audience, she can pretend she's sleeping, she can do her 'Valley Girl' impression - and get laughs from all of these. But she WON'T allow an in-depth discussion on a black, male celebrity in any kind of embarrassing situation or legal trouble.
by Anonymous | reply 236 | June 17, 2025 9:31 PM |

Yes, R237, but they will all die with a higher IQ than Whoopi. She seriously detracts from the show and it's getting worse. Her ego is so out of control because pussy Brian refuses to rein her in. You would think she might have been humbled by her Holocaust fuck up, but nope, she stills knows best about everything, or so she thinks.

That probably explains why days after ugly ass SNL’s Michael Che shared those horrendous jokes about Gymnast Simone Biles’ sexual assault, he appeared on The View and no questions were asked of him about that. Considering these are all female co-hosts, I thought that was very irresponsible on their part. If Whoopi was responsible for that, that’s FUCKED UP!

Whoopi there are other people in the worId who have it worse than black Americans. She's nothing but a myopic close-minded idiot. Same ignorant stance as with the Holocaust. She never learns from her mistakes. Never.
She still can't enunciate a basic word to save her life. Another bad accent is introduced. I wish a producer would offer her a role in an on-location film so she can go far, far away from The View.
I muted Matenopoulos because I'm not up for the bubbly fake persona crap, but it was fun to watch Joy get pissed when Debbie hugged her. Of course, when Damson Idris kissed her, she smiled. She's such a ridiculous ass-kissing liberal.
Idris was a fun guest yet seems a bit too enamored with Brad Pitt. Gay or just shilling the hell out of a film?

Wow, well, it took a few days but Whoopi and Sunny totally exposed their lack of knowledge about the Israel/Iran conflict today. Whoopi veered the discussion toward American Black victimhood which was downright ludicrous and beyond condescending. And Sunny kept calling the attacks “illegal,” totally distegarding the reason why the attacks have been necessary. Sara and Alyssa tried pushing back, at least, whike Joy was being her typically ignorant self. I wish Ana was on today, instead.

R250, Sunny showed her pro-Palestine stripes early on in the conflict when Netanyahu and the IDF were doing nothing, but retaliation strikes. Th View even went so far as to have on one of three young Palestinian students who were attacked in Mass. (I believe) by a disgruntled American. She was all in from day one so she can shut up with her "not antisemitic just anti-Netanyahu" bullshit. Plus, was the Jewish dude she always brings up as her grandfather a blood relative or one of her grandmother's husbands? she's as bad as the "some of my best friends are black" types.

Guest Jackie Jesko is the film director / producer / journalist who is responsible for the new Barbara Walters documentary. Seems like she really fucked up by not interviewing Joy Behar for the documentary, as Behar kept offering answers to questions that Jesko couldn't answer during her interview.
Ana inquired about her relationship with Roy Cone back in the 70s, and whether there was any truth to the rumors he wanted to marry her. Jesko replies, 'Well, no one really knows because everyone is dead.' Behar pipes up, and says, 'She told me that at lunch, so I'm confirming it.' Embarrassed Jesko replied, 'Did she ?' Behar then had to interject her knowledge as to why Barbara had a 'rocky relationship' with her adopted daughter when Jesko couldn't respond to Sunny's question about that.
So bottom line - Jesko really didn't do any thorough research into Walters on this documentary. Maybe Behar should have been hired to do the research ?

Kathy Griffin revealed in a new video that she turned down a $1.4 million offer to join The View, in the mid-2000s. The comedian said her decision upset co-creator Barbara Walters.
by Anonymous | reply 269 | June 21, 2025 10:40 PM |
The mid-2000s is when Meredith and Star both left at the end of the 2005-06 season. Walters had already lined up Rosie to be moderator and take Meredith's spot. Star's chair was never permanently filled (but Sherri Shepherd filled in a lot that season, and got the chair the following season). I'm wondering if that was the chair they offered her - Star's chair ? I'm curious how she and Rosie would've gotten along every day, as well as she and Joy. The three of them would've been competing for 'laughs' and trying to outdo each other with 'jokes'. I sense there would have been quite a bit of friction among them.
by Anonymous | reply 270 | June 21, 2025 10:53 PM |
r269, and in the same video Griffin stated she was making $10M a year on the road.
What surprised griffin was that Barbara's offer was take-it or leave-it. No negotiation.

I think Baba wanted her to turn the offer down. HOW DARE SHE!
by Anonymous | reply 272 | June 22, 2025 3:43 PM |
R269 Here's what I don't understand...
"Eventually I said to my agent, 'Tell them, if they're going to offer me a permanent chair, please tell them to just offer me the chair or not.' I keep flying out there, they're trying out new hosts so much, I'm like, I'm done auditioning. Did I get the job or not?" Griffin remembered.
So KG was done with 'auditioning' for the show (she filled in a number of times the earlier seasons) and asked her team to get an offer for her. Fair enough.
But then she said she had to turn it down because she didn't want to relocate her parents from LA to NYC, it would interfere with her comedy tour, as well as filming her TV show. So why didn't she tell her team to just pull her out of consideration knowing damn well she could never take the job in the first place ? Why pretend to be interested and wanting the job when you already knew three major obstacles would block it ?
It doesn't make sense.

Ahhhh - sexy actor Anthony Ramos of 'Hamilton' fame. The 33 year old broke his silence recently, saying Madonna disrespected the cast of 'Hamilton' when she came to see the show early in its run. Apparently, she was seated near the front and kept her head down, scrolling through an IPad and distracting him and the cast on stage.
“I was like, ‘Damn, shorty,'” he continued. “I’m like, ‘If you not enjoying it that much, you know the door’s right there. You ain’t got to stay here.’”
Later, the cast agreed to deny her access to the backstage to meet the cast (Madonna's rep said it wasn't true, but cast members said it was).

It's unbelievably stupid to have pre-taped today when there is a major world event happening. You have four other people on that panel. They could have done a show without Joy or Whoopi. And then to bring up Diddy, whom you haven't brought up in ages. There must be truth to the rumor that Iger wants them to do less politics.

Once again, the white tragedies don't rate on this show. On to more important shit like Trump and Elon bickering. Again.
Sunny showed her true colors (literally) once again when she objected to Diddy being denied bail. The guy's a flight risk no matter what precautions may be taken. Is he a danger to society? He's a danger to women that's for sure. I know she said the racketeering charges would be hard to prove but when the trial started, she at least tried to present the case through the lens of a former federal prosecutor. Now in creeps her racial bias bullshit. She's upset at the time he may spend in prison and compares him to (former Gov Elliot Spitz?) who did not serve any time for a similar crime.
Hakeem Jeffries needs to sit on his fucking hands when he speaks and stop speaking in nursery rhymes. He looks like an out-of-control deaf interpreter who failed at community theater. What a bag of hot air yet this moron is the face of the Dem party. Wake up, Dems! Words spew forth as strangers to each other while hands flail wildly. All of this to distract from the fact he has absolutely nothing to offer.
I agree about ICE on steroids but he's repeating the lie that the little boy with cancer was deported. The mother was deported, and the children chose to go with their mother. So many actual horror stories unfolding, try bringing attention to them some time.
Ana asked Jeffries about the tragedy in Texas, and he actually said, "thoughts and prayers." This guy is nothing but a cliché -ridden empty vessel. You tried, Ana.

God this show needs an overhaul. The commentary is so dull and predictable at this point.
And the Jeffries interview was awful. Of course, you've got Sunny there doing her soft little "yeah" to everything Jeffries says meanwhile everything he says is complete drivel. "America is a nation of immigrants." When will Dems learn to stop with this tired line? It may be true, but the vast majority of Americans have shown that they DO NOT CARE and just want immigration under control. He then goes on to say that Democrats want to protect law abiding immigrant families. Again, he misses the point. If you’ve crossed the border illegally or overstayed a visa then you’re by definition NOT “law abiding.” So maybe stop bending over backwards to canonize these people and hear what the American people are actually saying—that they want a legal pathway but that immigrants need to FOLLOW the fucking pathway. THAT IS THE ACTUAL ISSUE. Worst of all, he says immigration reform needs to be done in a bi-partisan way. Um, what year are you living in? NOTHING is bi-partisan anymore. He should be out there saying that Democrats have gotten the message on immigration but that Trump has also gone too far—and that if America wants comprehensive immigration reform that also respects basic human rights that they need to be electing Democrats. Fucking DUH.
He also whiffed the discussion about the “big beautiful bill” by focusing on its unpopularity. Unpopular according to who? To polls? You mean those same polls that Whoopi loves to remind us have been wrong in every election for the last decade? Every minute wasted talking about the bill’s polling is a minute that could be used on messaging what Democrats will actually get done if you elect them. HELLO.
He then closes the interview by discussing the flood in Texas and saying we should never play politics with this kind of tragedy. That’s very noble, but again what year is he fucking living in? Is there a single Republican who would not have laid this at the feet of Kamala had she won? He should be BLASTING Trump, DOGE, and the entire administration! He is bringing a knife to a gun fight and made it clear he is not remotely capable of meeting this moment.

How did we miss this??? Maybe this will afford her a graceful exit from The View. (I know, I know but one can hope.)
by Anonymous | reply 314 | July 8, 2025 4:38 AM |
The View has weeks off and months off, and there is no way her part isn't a workaround.
How long was she gone for The Stand?
by Anonymous | reply 315 | July 8, 2025 4:46 AM |
Is that when she was wearing that mop on her head for months? I just looked up the production schedule and it said they filmed in Vancouver, BC from September 2019 to March 2020. So, filming occurred while The View was not on hiatus.
Maybe for this gig she has to set up residency and also work in the country to retain her citizenship or whatever she has.

She owns a winery in Italy and probably has an investor type residency/visa.
by Anonymous | reply 317 | July 8, 2025 3:32 PM |
Whoopi, who owns a villa/winery (thank you for the winery info, R317) in Italy ad just returned from a two-week vacation, just opened the show by saying "this job can be hell." She usually annoys me, that's a given, but to complain about her multi-million-dollar job when people in this country are trying to figure out how to pay their bills is beyond the fucking pale. Is this her way of building to a graceful exit or is she in re-negotiations and is playing up how hard this four hour a week gig is?
More enlightened opinions from Whoopi, the woman who lost count of her abortions after unlucky number seven, is now telling wives who are cheated on by their husbands, they may be part of the problem. Was Ted Danson's wife part of the problem when you started an affair with him? I suppose it was her fault, after all that pesky stroke she suffered leaving her partially paralyzed probably made her less nimble in the old sack. Right, Whoopi?

Whoopi was part of the fourth season of 'The Godfather of Harlem' which just finished its run this past June (I'm surprised she never plugged this on 'The View' from April - June). The season filmed this past winter. I guess when she took a few days off 'here and there' she filmed her (short) scenes for the series.

Monday's show was fun to watch - the part where Adam Glassman was growing irritable as Sunny and Sara did their very best to steal the attention away from him every chance they got. It seemed rather pre-planned on their part. I'm sure the fur flew backstage when the segment was over.

Hey R323, why don't you tell me again how Whoopi is thisclose to getting Sister Act III produced. I remember how she lit up when Patrick Stewart said they may have a role for her in whatever latest Star Trek shit they were reviving. Sally Field comes to mind when she was accepting her second Oscar.
She's a has-been who took a role in an Italian soap for goodness' sake. I mean come on. I believe she also brought up supporting her family again today. How many generations of deadbeats does this bitch support? It's because of them people are subjected to this ignoramus on The View. Somebody in that family needs to get a fucking job so as to allow great-great stoner grandma to retire and get the hell off my screen.

I love this statement. More proof that so many people are completely ignorant to the fact that these hosts don't work an 11 am - noon job. People actually believe they clock in at 10:55 am and clock out at 12:05 pm?
Reminds me of my coworker. The company I work for is going through a major shake-up this summer, and my boss (head of my department) is usually out of the office all day attending meetings on and off-campus, and then comes in to her office at the end of the day to try and catch up on her own work (and she stays well past her eighth hour of the work-day). This has been going on for the past two months.
The other day, my coworker (a Zoomer who leaves at 4:30 each day) shook her head, and seriously says to us : "I can't believe Carolyn comes into work every day at 4 pm, and gets paid for a full day. I want her job !" The three of us listening to her just shook our heads Can't fix stupid.

DAY TWO of discussing Epstein. They have yet to mention the most famous Epstein girl, Virginia Giuffre committed suicide in April at the age of 41.
R324, I've been watching The View since it premiered in August of '97 without a Whoopi in sight. Who the hell are you to hall monitor my "views.?" I'd also like to know, who is "Dorthy?" Is she the slow-witted cousin of Dorothy?
R326, Whoopi does not partake in any extracurricular activities for the show. She does not appear on the podcast. She does not attend the pre-show meetings. She just broke down on air a few months back when one of her relatives passed. They were discussing heart disease.
She also cried last year when they had Teresa Caputo on as a guest and she was giving readings.
So what "luxury" is she talking about? Most people don't have the luxury of making her paycheck per year.

R334, she may be misinformed or confused (again.) She must think they are four initials which stand for something she can't repeat on the air. As far as I know the term (one word, not initials) comes from an old science fiction book. It's a Martian word and we all know Elon wants to colonize Mars. So, there's nothing crude or nefarious about it.

by Anonymous | reply 348 | July 10, 2025 9:01 PM |
Well, Whoopi, Joy and Sunny's contracts expire at the end of this season. If they don't get rid of Whoopi, I wish they would at least consider demoting her to co-host and place Sara in the moderator's seat. She has the credentials to bring actual experience and knowledge to the job like Meredith did before her. But Whoopi's ego is too big and too fragile to handle such a demotion, so I guess it's all or nothing. I'm hoping they dump her. Joy turns 83 in a few months, so I doubt she'll sign (or be offered) another three-year contract. Sunny? Who the hell knows with her. She always has a few balls in the air (usually Manny's but I digress.)
by Anonymous | reply 349 | July 10, 2025 9:20 PM |
The only way they’ll get rid of Whoopi is to gradually phase her out—maybe have her appear three times a week, then two, then one. The problem is Joy would probably insist on moderating on the non-Whoopi days (as long as she’s there that day). Also, a reduced Whoopi would likely mean more Ana and that’s the last thing the show or any of us needs.
by Anonymous | reply 350 | July 10, 2025 9:36 PM |
I forgot about Ana. She's another one who is wearing thin. This is such bullshit it's as if they're aways tiptoeing around their egos. They (Brian et al) need to grow a pair and do what's in the best interest of the show. I like this current iteration but it's getting stale, and Whoopi is getting worse by the day.
Today when they were discussing their pre-celeb grunge jobs, Whoopi was more in her element. It was nice to hear her talk about something of which she had actual knowledge. She just really sucks as moderator. Like really, really sucks. Did I mention she sucks?
by Anonymous | reply 351 | July 10, 2025 9:50 PM |
I’d be curious what percentage of the show’s viewers watch regularly and what percentage only tune in sporadically. Because Whoopi’s Q score is supposedly high. But I’m guessing that’s with people who only tune in occasionally and have a fond association with her thanks to Ghost, Sister Act, etc. For anyone who watches regularly, it’s obvious how grouchy, unprepared, and ill-suited she is to be moderator. But maybe that’s not the majority of the audience on any given day?
by Anonymous | reply 352 | July 11, 2025 12:18 AM |
Sara in the moderator's seat ? I do hope you're joking. She couldn't draw viewers to watch her and Strahan every afternoon in 2018 when she was cohosting 'GMA Day' , you think ABC will turn over moderating duties to her on 'The View' ? They want to keep their viewers, not lose them. Sara is tolerable as third or fourth banana - for the 'reactions' to what the others have to say.
And don't forget 2014 - they couldn't demote Whoopi to cohost when Rosie returned, nor was she willing to 'rotate' with Rosie every other week. I don't blame her.
by Anonymous | reply 353 | July 11, 2025 12:44 AM |
Sara is struggling as a sidekick.
Ever since she took a more centrist, independent position, she has come off a weak.

Joy had to stick around today because they pre-tape Friday's show after the live Thursday show.
by Anonymous | reply 355 | July 11, 2025 1:38 AM |
No, I'm not joking, R353. Being moderator is not about being the star at the table, it's about navigating the topics, and controlling the conversational flow. Sara has the reporting background, the temperament and the quick wit to keep the show moving while also keeping the co-hosts from going off on each other. Meredith had a similar temperament. She could always diffuse a situation with a quick joke and a smooth segway. That's the problem with Whoopi. Her ego took over and now we have four other co-hosts who are afraid to interrupt her when she's making a fool of herself or to cut her off when she starts with one of her endless lectures. She's the one who bastardized the position and turned it into her personal soapbox. That is not the role of a moderator.
As for the others, Joy is grouchy lately and seems to be losing her patience. Sunny might be good, but she tends to speak over the others when she's hellbent on making her point. Alyssa's too new and too deferential to the others to be able to effectively cut them off and retain control at the table. Ana (whom I always forget) is nothing but a name-dropper and a drama queen. Just make your fucking point already, Ana. Every response does not have to be an Evita moment. But please do tell me again whose concert you attended this weekend who also happens to be your bestie. Ridiculous woman.

[quote]No, I'm not joking, [R353]. Being moderator is not about being the star at the table, it's about navigating the topics, and controlling the conversational flow.
And none of those skills are in Sara's toolbox. If you need more proof than what we get on a daily level, look at some episodes of her and Strahan on "GMA Day' from 2018-19. She couldn't keep an interesting conversation with one cohost and a guest - you think she can do it with four cohosts and a guests ? She's as dull as dishwater. This is why they had to add Keke Palmer to the show.

I'm pretty shocked by the fact that over this past weekend, there was a major fire in an assisted living facility in New Bedford MA, killing 9 residents and injuring dozens of others - and these women have yet to mention it. It's been on our local news all week long (they're finding major deficiencies with the 'escape plan' which was put in place years ago, smoke detectors, etc) and on the national news, as well. Yet the hosts ignored it this week - not even a quick 'our thoughts go out'... It's raising major concerns about the safety of such facilities and how they are regulated.
All they can do is talk about Epstein.
I'm sure if this happened in Florida, NJ, or the mid-west, the women would be all over this story.

If their contracts are settled for next season, maybe one (or more) of the co-hosts is leaving and they've planned a special send-off on Thursday (which is supposedly the last live show of the season.)
by Anonymous | reply 397 | July 20, 2025 10:34 PM |
IF anyone is leaving the end of this season, I think it would be all over the internet by now. News like that is no longer kept under wraps.
by Anonymous | reply 398 | July 20, 2025 10:53 PM |
Plus, they would have been positioning the replacement for their position at the table. Nobody out there.
Unless ABC pulls a Paramount and announces that next season will be the LAST for The View.

Not necessarily. They would most likely audition potential replacements for the first half of the new season (Sep - Dec) then announce the new addition after the holiday break...or into the following season. IIRC, Alyssa Farah Griffin auditioned throughout a whole season (to replace McCain) before she was announced as the new mouth at the table the following September.

R399, they'll do what they've done in the past, drag it out interminably. Didn't they take an entire season before they finally settled on Alyssa.
by Anonymous | reply 402 | July 21, 2025 2:09 AM |
I don’t think the table is changing anytime soon—certainly not before Alyssa goes out on a maternity leave from which she’ll likely never return. But I do think they need to shake things up because the current lineup is feeling stale.
by Anonymous | reply 403 | July 21, 2025 2:32 AM |
They need to get rid of stale, white bread Sara. She's boring and dull. The only one I liked in that chair was Abby Huntsma, who left a few months after Sara MyFather joined the table. Huntsman could be oppositional but with a smile on her face. She could hold her own against Joy , Sunny and Whoopi. She was smart to leave rather than put up with the crap McCain was stirring every day.
by Anonymous | reply 404 | July 21, 2025 12:09 PM |
I actually like Sara. I think she’s good at calling out both sides and at having nuance in her opinions. She’s not in the tank for one side like most of the panel. To me, the biggest dead weight is Ana who just speechifies, followed by Whoopi who is completely uninformed.
by Anonymous | reply 405 | July 21, 2025 12:56 PM |
r404, Sara is an Evangelical turncoat and Abby is a Mormon goddess in training.
And Meghan is just a power hungry nepo-cunt.
Her husband is an intellectual joke.
by Anonymous | reply 406 | July 21, 2025 1:31 PM |
Trump's off on another one of his manic Adderall-fueled TS rants, threatening to imprison Obama, yet they lead with the overdone Coldplay scarlet letter bullshit? Fuck off with this show.
As for the Sara hater, she is exactly what this show needs. She's the only one who answers in accordance with the actual question. She never gives canned answers like the rest of them. It's all so boring now as they go around the table one by one and spew the same idiot talking points they've been spewing for years. They're like ABC's version of a FOX News panel. Change it up or change them up and get rid of the dead weight.

Adam Glassman was annoyed once again this week, with Sunny and Sara taking over the whole 'View Your Oprah Deal' garage sale at the end of the show. During the first product (zip-lock containers you can find at HomeGoods and TJMaxx), they talked right over him (again), to which he said 'You two are doing all the talking, I don't have to say anything'. Talk about passive/aggressive. But hey - he's there for the attention, not to stand off to the side with his newest face-lift.
I think there will be some changes made next season, should he return. He's not going to keep putting up with their shit.
by Anonymous | reply 408 | July 21, 2025 10:33 PM |
I bet Whoopi kicks off 'Hot Topics' with Malcolm-Jamal's drowning, and put 'the Epstein' files to the side (first time in over a week ?). She's going to get all choked up, and say the two of them were 'very good friends' and this one 'hits hard'. Sunny will then speak, and say she was very good friends with him, too, as well as his wife (she trumps Whoopi).
by Anonymous | reply 409 | July 22, 2025 12:15 PM |
Will Sunny also mention that she dated cockroach? Or the importance of the Cosby show and representation?
by Anonymous | reply 410 | July 22, 2025 1:18 PM |
Whoopi has thoughts about Colbert’s cancellation but she won’t share them. Excellent content she’s providing there.
by Anonymous | reply 411 | July 22, 2025 3:46 PM |
Sunny mentioned both.
by Anonymous | reply 412 | July 22, 2025 4:16 PM |
Whoopi framed the segment.
by Anonymous | reply 413 | July 22, 2025 5:07 PM |
No disrespect to his memory, but I don't feel Malcolm Jamal Warner's passing merited an entire segment. I really don't care if they knew him. Whoopi pretends as if she is besties with everyone in the biz. For Sunny it was just another opening to play the poor, downtrodden black/Hispanic youth (whose parents were somehow able to send her to private school) who found hope in a fake black sitcom family against all white odds. Who the hell does she think made the show #1?
When a legend dies, they devote 20 seconds of airtime as Whoopi throws to commercial, yet this one-hit-wonder gets the in memoriam fit for a head of state. If you want to pretend to be a pseudo-news show, stop playing favorites when it comes to who rates and who doesn't.
OZZY OSBOURNE JUST DIED. LET'S SEE HOW MUCH TIME THEY GIVE HIM TOMORROW.

Whoopi is undoubtedly fast friends with Sharon.
I think she had to gather her thoughts about Colbert because she currently has none.
by Anonymous | reply 415 | July 22, 2025 7:24 PM |
Someone needs to tell Alyssa to slow her roll. She has so much to say to get all her talking points in, and talks at the speed of light.
by Anonymous | reply 416 | July 22, 2025 8:33 PM |
The Malcolm-Jamal Warner coverage:
What did they all do on Friday that mattered, which Whoopi referenced ?
I noticed Sara and Alyssa didn't say a word about MJW, and Joy only said 'a lot of kids grew up with him'.
Sunny is grateful for the show because 'the family' (she never uttered the title 'The Cosby Show') showed African Americans - especially Sunny, the black kid who grew up in the South Bronx projects, the depiction of a wealthy family living in a beautiful Brooklyn Townhouse. The family showed her its possible to be a wealthy black family and have nicer things (so she implied). She said it was an overdue corrective against the harmful stereotypes of the black community which existed for so long. The Huxtables were an important place in pop culture, she said, and 'Theo' was finally a positive role model to younger black males.
Long-overdue correction for the black family stereotype ? Huh ? Did Sunny never watch an episode of 'The Jeffersons' which ran for 11 seasons from 1975-85 ? Did she not own a TV during that decade ? The Jeffersons lived in a deluxe apartment in the sky on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, located at 185 East 85th Street at Third Avenue (they referred to it as 'The Colby East'), and George was living the American dream as a wealthy business owner of a dry-cleaning business with multiple locations throughout Manhattan. His son Lionel, who we are first introduced to as a high school graduate, went to college to become a successful electrical engineer who gets married, starts a family, and even moves to Japan for business - does Sunny not see this as inspirational to younger black males ?
Wasn't that long-running show a corrective to the long overdue stereotypes of the black community ? Don't they have a place in pop culture for being a corrective to the stereotype of the black family ?
Sunny should brush up on the history of television.

In Sunny’s defense (which I’m loathe to take up), The Cosby Show really was considered groundbreaking at the time. The NYTimes even ran a story in 2008 crediting it as paving the way for Obama’s win.
by Anonymous | reply 418 | July 22, 2025 11:49 PM |
R418, that's all well and good but "the son's" passing did not merit that kind of airtime. Just another excuse for Sunny to play I was a poor black child once again. Meanwhile, Ozzie gets a 20 second tribute from Whoopi. Yup
...but why listen to me I just work on a talk show." Truer words were never spoken. Let's watch as Whoopi pretends to mispronounce the word seditious, after she was corrected by the co-hosts. Looks like she and "You Know Who" are the same kind of stupid after all.
The Kohberger sentencing is live on another channel, so time to forgo another enthralling segment about social media and watch the victim impact statements, before this asshole goes down for life.
by Anonymous | reply 419 | July 23, 2025 3:21 PM |
I guess 'The Jeffersons' doesn't register with Sunny because George was no better than the white Archie Bunker, and Florence played the stereotypical 'lazy domestic'.
by Anonymous | reply 420 | July 23, 2025 8:11 PM |
Now Trump is threatening to have The View canceled. God he really is so pathetic.
by Anonymous | reply 421 | July 23, 2025 8:11 PM |
Sunny said she has gone on past vacations with her kids on 'cruises'. I wonder if they were Carnival Cruises ? Was she caught in a one of their throw-downs complete with chairs flying and wigs tossed ?
by Anonymous | reply 422 | July 23, 2025 8:29 PM |
Hmmm - Consuelos walked right to his chair and didn't go around the table kissing everyone. And he didn't kiss Whoopi's ass and credit her role in 'Ghost' for influencing his decision to enter show biz. WTF ?
by Anonymous | reply 423 | July 23, 2025 8:36 PM |
R421, that's basically an admission he had Colbert canned as part of the deal. I hope it was worth it for those who will profit from the Paramount merger because they just set a very dangerous precedent by acquiescing to this wannabe dictator.
This is the level of discourse that Trump has normalized. This spokesperson said this while acting in an official capacity: "White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said, “Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. It's no surprise that The View's ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump's historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air."
by Anonymous | reply 424 | July 23, 2025 9:56 PM |
This is Thursday's missing guest: Thursday, July 24 – Vanessa Kirby (actor, "The Fantastic Four: First Steps")
Oh, well, so much for a big send-off. They should still have enough segment time to bid farewell to Whoopi and wish her well on her journey. *fingers crossed*
by Anonymous | reply 425 | July 24, 2025 5:48 AM |
Joy let slip today that it was the last week of the season. Why was this being treated as a secret?
by Anonymous | reply 426 | July 24, 2025 4:21 PM |
I was just reading all of the conspiracy MAGAts comments at The DM. They seem to think she's playing victim because of Trump's WH spokesperson comment saying The View should be cancelled. Whoopi mentioned it again at the end of the show. I have noticed in the past they've never mentioned when they're going on vacation or hiatus. I assumed it was because they didn't want ratings to immediately drop with the pending repeat eps.
by Anonymous | reply 427 | July 24, 2025 4:37 PM |
I have started watching the political A blocks on The View, But as soon as Alyssa starts talking about some odd crap,
I turn on Tamron Hall.
In Las Vegas, ABC has a local station mirror where Hall plays. 34-1
I guess it is rerun time all around, as Hall had Durand Bernarr on, and I would never have caught him.
He's like a skinny, little Luther.
So cute. And RnB needs new voices.

That's exactly it. I will be taking it off my DVR after tomorrow, and adding it back on Labor Day weekend.
by Anonymous | reply 429 | July 24, 2025 8:32 PM |
Doesn't your DVR know when a show is previously aired? I'm pretty sure most TV listings mark them as repeats.
I hate that the last show of the season is always pre-taped. You'd think that if they're taking 5 weeks off they could at least show up on a Friday to send off the season with a live show.
by Anonymous | reply 430 | July 25, 2025 3:47 PM |
I don't care for it either, R430. I used to love the WABC NY morning line-up because the shows were all live. You had Regis & Kathie Lee (then Kelly after) The Rosie O'Donnell Show and The View.
They were fun to watch (or just leave on in the background) because you never knew what was going to happen on a live show. There was such an energy to the shows. I haven't really watched Live since Regis left but I believe Kelly & Mark tape many of their shows, especially in the summer, Rosie's gone, and The View is taping more and more. I think it kills the spontaneity not to mention The View leads with old news for HT which is ridiculous for a politically driven show airing in a 24/7 news cycle era.
Now we wait for the news on who will return for the new season, lol.

I don't believe so. It keeps recording each episode. Not that it matters too much, but I don't need it to keep recording the eps.

I just pulled this from another thread. It's pretty much saying Sunny is vacationing at Martha's Vineyard (for now.) Sunny comes in during the second paragraph, I left in the first paragraph for reference.
This is from NICEST CELEBRITIES thread. NO, SUNNY IS NOT MENTIONED IN THAT CONTEXT.
"My friend who lives on the Vineyard gave me a call this morning. Apparently, some MSNBC hosts were on / off the island this past week, for some kind of event going on in Oak Bluffs (where she lives). Jonathan Capehart, Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes and Lawrence O'Donnell were there as of yesterday morning, though the first sightings of them were Tuesday. Some were doing daytrips, others were staying overnights.
Capehart was staying at rental two houses down from her and she ran into him the other day, walking her dog and he was getting back from a walk on their street - he bent down to pet her dog. She said they chatted for a short while - she told him she watches him all the time on 'The Weekend' - and he couldn't have been any nicer or more gracious. She said he's better looking in person in a tee and shorts than on TV. Keep in mind my friend is very social and outgoing - especially with kind strangers - so it didn't surprise me when she told him she was having a few friends over for a clambake that evening, and he was more than welcome to join them. He thanked her, but told her his friend 'Sunny Hostin' from 'The View' was arriving later in the day, and he had made previous plans with her for dinner. (She doesn't follow 'The View' but she knows who Hostin is as she has family who lives in OB). Capehart told her he was coming back next week to co-host a fundraiser event with Sunny for her sorority, so maybe they can make dinner plans next week (he's staying in the same house.)"

R437 Thank you - that's my post you pulled over. 'The View' thread has been quiet the past few weeks so I didn't post this here.
My friend has said Sunny is on the Vineyard every summer - usually promoting one of her books (I believe she's doing that this coming week) or one of her friends' books. I believe Sunny mentioned on the waning days of this past season she was going to be splitting her time off between The Hamptons and The Vineyard.
